So many gluten free options!!! If you have a bunch of dietary restrictions like me this is the place for you. My friends and I can go here and all get something to eat (keto, allergic to peanuts, gluten free, low acid diet) we can be a hard group to feed but Flower Child always delivers with delicious amazing food. My personal favorites are the gluten free Mac and cheese and the yuzu Brussels sprouts. It's the best GF Mac and cheese I have had and I've tried really hard to perfect it at home and it just doesn't come close to the Flower Child Mac and cheese. Who knew that Austin, TX would have so many vegan options? This is one of the top ones for sure, definitely geared towards the very health-conscious. We had the simple hummus and vegan ingredient salad with tofu. They also had an extra heirloom tomato + watermelon salad and gave it to us for free (free food=win). Everything tastes amazing and you can tell it was all made fresh. Their kombucha is also excellent and they have a variety of really good juices! Flower Child is one of my new fav restaurants! I love that they have so many healthy options and each one sounds delicious! I ordered the Organic Kale Salad and added on chicken. It was a great salad and a pretty large portion! I loved everything about the salad except the grapefruit, but I'm not a huge grapefruit fan anyways. I've begun eating apples on salads and I actually really love it now, especially with this salad. I also loved the aesthetic of the restaurant with it's down to earth vibes and natural lighting. The pricing is a bit more than I want to pay for a salad, but it's difficult to find heathy places sometimes and I had a great first experience here. This review is a long time coming! Living only 1000 feet away and having eaten here more times than I can count, you'd think I would have reviewed Flower Child months ago. Having enjoyed Sam Fox's WIldflower restaurant in Tucson for years while I lived there in the 90's-2000's made me just trust the quality that came out of his kitchens. I feel like Flower Child, by name and by the health conscious offerings is an homage to what Wildflower used to be in Tucson, but maybe that's just an old fading memory that I try to cling to... If I tried to list everything I've had here, I would need to just copy and paste the menu, so I'll just pick my top three favorite things - sometimes my go-to items when I can't make up my mind. In no particular order - as they are all great: 1. Forbidden Rice Bowl - great by itself, and just as good with beef or chicken. I prefer beef. 2. Avocado Toast - Simple but yummy! 3. The Veggie Three-way Plate - any three veggies work great here. I haven't had one that I didn't like, but my top three veggies are the Indian Caulifower, Broccoli, and Yuzu Brussels. Flower child is a great place to stop at when you're walking around at the domain. the food is really tasty but you don't feel the heavy lazy coma effects from eating other styles of food they have nearby. Consistently, they mess up my to go orders, then they blame it on the new hires, training or chefs, but they do apologize and bait you in with a $25 gift card. Mother Earth Bowl terrible. Sweet potatoes spicy version, undercooked, pesto was glue no flavor and gritty, no dressing nor on side. Side "grilled" chicken does not taste like its made in house. Dry and inedible. Good healthy food, moderate portion sizes, domain prices. We tried this place being at the domain because it was less crowded and had patio seating (enclosed but still outdoor-ish). It felt safer than most surrounding options. (Note: Covid era review) Not a place to go if you are super-hungry, but the portion sizes have been decent and the content is healthy and flavorful. We usually split a hummus app which is surprisingly tasty with fresh veggies. It's a bit on the pricey side, but on par with domain. The dishes all have distinct flavors, and someone usually ends up with food envy when I've gone. This is a GOOD thing to me. Dishes that have a distinct enough flavor that different people have different opinions means that they provide a range of flavors for the palate to explore. But the biggest compliment: I'm a spicy food guy. Indian food and Pluckers are my go-to choices. This food is not spicy, but it's full of flavor and I will be back. Definitely my fav "healthy" foo-foo restaurant right now. (Beating out Honest Mary's which is my 2nd fav "healthy" place.) read more

It almost hurts me to give this place 2.5 stars, but here was my experience: This restaurant has the absolute CUTEST theme and decorations. It's modern and contemporary with splashes of hippie vibes. Whoever designed this place gets some extra points. I really wanted to like this place - the area itself is open and spacious, the staff were fantastic, the drinks and food came out in a timely manner. However, my dish was extremely salty. So much so that I couldn't even finish the wrap. The price was also steep for the amount of food you get, but that's usually the case with "healthier" restaurants. I want to say that I'll come here again and give it a second shot, but there are tons of restaurants around the domain that I have yet to try. We'll have to see! After being ignored for a while, an employee asked me if I wanted food for dine-in or to-go. Nice. So, I asked for the massman curry I saw in the menu board outside. I was informed that they no longer offer this item. At this point I deferred to my girlfriend. I just gestured to her and said " I'll have what she is having". The food, in it's scant portions was brought promptly to our table. The super greens were good as was the sweet potato dish. The chicken we paid extra for was overcooked and cold. I mean, sitting on the counter, 72 degrees cold. We paid close to 30 dollars for some decent food and cold chicken to leave hungry. Would not buy again, would not recommend to a friend. read more

They have so many options for vegheads and carnivores alike: each of their menu items comes basic and you can add one of their protein options ( salmon, chicken, steak or tofu). The gluten free mac and cheese makes you forget all other mac and cheeses. the broccoli with parmesan was basic. The tofu was well cooked. The star of my day was trying ALL the LEMONADES!!! The fare consists of yummy salads, sandwiches, bowls of goodness. You will find "All Natural" "Sustainable" and "Grass Fed" on the menu. And, drum roll please....they have Rose Petal Lemonade! I enjoyed a delicious Salad Bowl with the addition of Grass Fed Steak. It was huge and half went home with me. So I love fatty foods that aren't good for you and have always run away from healthy eating. However, as I am getting older, I've decided to eat more like an adult so I decided to give this place a try. I am so glad I opened myself up to healthy eating because this place is awesome! The restaurant is absolutely gorgeous so full marks on that (love the fact that you can see in the kitchen and I especially love how clean the kitchen is!) and the menu surprisingly had many interesting options that actually tempted someone like me to order them. Love the balance of flavors they've been able to achieve! My favorite menu items are: tofu with spicy eggplant, thai cashew quinoa bowl and grilled asparagus. Been itching to come here and finally had a chance! Came during lunch time on Friday, the place was PACKED and the line was long. Kudos for swift ordering and food coming out quickly. The price seemed a little expensive for mostly vegetables but once it came out and our table had a bite, we were ecstatic. The taste is light but not bland and has enough flavor while not heavy. We had the skinny cob salad, mother earth bowl (added steak $6), and the pick three for $9 (added tofu $4). The only thing I was disappointed was the added steak, it was totally rare and the counter people do not ask how you want your steak. I couldn't eat it at all. The tofu that we added was DELICIOUS so that made up for it. All three dishes are recommended! I was worried that the meal wouldn't fill me up but boy was I wrong. The portion is great and the food it great. Now it is the domain and parking was really difficult to find even in the garage. I had to park on the 4th floor after multiple times circling around.
