Wow! This is one of my favorite entrees I've had here! The "Forbidden rice" bowl at $11.95 delivered in flavor and in quantity! I'm not vegetarian or vegan but I would gladly order this bowl again! A colorful mix of seasoned snap pea, bok choy, broccoli, carrot, onion, toasted sesame, red chili hoisin on a mix of black pearl and red japonica rice. I'm drawn to the combination of vegetables especially on the red Japonica rice. This nutty flavored, pale pink, medium grain rice (also know as Bhutanese Red Rice) has a slight chewy texture which I love. This dish tasted fresh was perfectly cooked and served hot at our table. Service was good and we timed it right by arriving at 11:40 before the lunch crowd came and filled all the seats. To end the meal we each purchased their chocolate chip cashew cookie. I buy this every visit and it is still awesome when baked fresh that day!

Flower child is a vibe! If you're looking for a healthier option, this place is just it! Quality ingredients. It does get crowded so plan accordingly. Service was great, they were attentive with seating us when it was crowded

You can never go wrong with Flower Child! The food is always yummy and service is great! My go to is always the salmon entree with mashed potatoes and a vegetable of some sort. This last visit I ordered broccoli and it was SOOOOOO GOOD. It was flavorful and had a nice crisp to it. The employee who brought us our food was very cheerful and nice.

As a still-new resident of Arizona, I discovered Flower Child. It has become my favorite place to go to when I want "fast food" that's not fast food. If you know, you know. My go-to dishes are always the Mediterranean Chicken Kabob (without summer squash) or the Chicken Yakisoba Noodles. The food tastes delicious, clean and fulfilling, and I love their many healthy options to choose from. I have yet to try other dishes but I can't break away from my default dishes just yet. Oh but I can't forget to mention the Double Chocolate Almond Brownie--delicious! The staff is nice and the restaurant stays busy every day. If you want to enjoy dining in, visit during the weekday but if you must dine on the weekend, be prepared to wait a little bit. However, they serve fresh lemonade while waiting so it's worth it.

My go to is always the steak, mac and cheese, and veggies! You can never go wrong with this combination! The steak is always cooked perfectly, flavorful, and its always juicy. The mac and cheese is heaven sent and veggies are always crisp. Service is great. There is typically a line out the door but it definitely worth the wait!

Management reached out to me about my concerns regarding my recent visit. I really appreciated the email and the lack of excuses for what I encountered at the store. She was listened and hopefully there will be more staff training on customer service and food safety. We gave it another chance, but not the same store, and had a much better experience.

I ordered a steak plate with carrots and grilled asparagus. I was given burnt black carrots that were completely inedible. I don't know where the grilled asparagus was either. I can't believe an employee thought that it was acceptable to serve this. Completely unacceptable.

Great restaurant for a healthy clean boujee meal. I love making my own steak bowl with broccoli and corn and quinoa. It's definitely a little pricier but so good when you're craving it.

Mashed potatoes & salmon. Though I had already finished the salmon. It was absolutely delicious.

The food here is absolutely delicious. I highly recommend the salmon & mashed potatoes. Also do the outside seating if possible.

Food was pretty good! Had to wait a little bit but nothing too crazy. Their steak was a little dry but everything else in the bowl was super solid so I can't be mad. Would love to try some desserts here

Definitely my worst experience at a FRC establishment. We ordered takeout and my wife's wrap was fine but my steak was anything but. I ordered the steak, sweet potato fries, and Mac and cheese. The steak was partly lean and partly fatty, the portion size was very very small too compared to my past experiences at flower child. The sweet potato fries were cold/lukewarm and mushy. Barely cooked I think. The mac & cheese was the only thing that was fine. I called and spoke to a manager, and she refunded the sweet potato fries, but did nothing about the steak, even after agreeing that the picture I sent her showed that it was fatty and did not live up to their expectations. Explain that one to me?

I was looking for a new lunch spot to try and catch up with a friend and Flower Child did not disappoint! The restaurant is very pretty and aesthetic looking, perfect for a girls lunch (my favorite!). Not only was it pretty, but the food was delicious! I was craving something fresh and lemony so I decided to try their black bean falafel wrap- not something I would typically get but it has now become one of my favorite wraps! I usually crave a meat source of protein but the black bean falafel was perfect! The service was great, the line was a bit long but the cashiers kept it moving quickly! I had a few questions and the young girl who took my order was very nice and helpful. Once we sat down, the waiter brought out our food and came back a few other times to make sure we weren't missing anything or if we needed anything. We decided to sit outside since the inside was pretty full. They have great misters that kept us cool for the long time we were there in the middle of the summer day. I'll definitely be back here :)

I keep trying to come back and I'm most often disappointed. On September 30, I waited at the restaurant for my food (not a big deal, I waited outside since it was busy) and when I got home after about an hour or more, I was finally able to sit and eat as I'm currently still moving by myself. I found that I had mashed potatoes instead of mac & cheese so I called to let them know and they said they would refund me. They said it would be in my bank account by 3 to 5 business days and it's still not there. As I just checked. What a scam. I literally waited 20+ minutes for my food, it was "checked by Jared," but was obviously incorrect, and was told that I would receive a refund and did not. As of now, I have zero incentive to go back. The amount of times they've messed up is ridiculous. The food is good but it's not worth it if they're going to consistently mess up on your order, say they will make a positive resolution happen, and then not follow through - that's bad business ethics, especially when it's expensive.

The location has a quaint, house-style feel with beautifully manicured grounds. The large doors were open, allowing a lovely breeze to flow through, a welcomed touch. There's also a convenient parking lot right next door, which was a pleasant surprise. The restaurant offers a variety of seating options: outside patio, high-top outdoor seating, inside bar seating, and traditional indoor dining. We arrived in that sweet spot between lunch and happy hour, so the restaurant was quiet and relaxed, exactly how we like it. Drinks My Blue Hawaiian ($15) was absolutely amazing, it really hit the spot, and I was still feeling great when we left! My husband ordered the Pizza Port Chronic ($5) and said it was a nice, refreshing change of pace. Our Server Andrew Andrew greeted us immediately, walked us through both the food and drink menus, and was genuinely knowledgeable and enthusiastic. He was the highlight of our visit. Exceptional service. Appetizer Butter Board & Bread We started with the Butter Board ($14), served with toasted bread. The butter itself, whipped with ricotta, herbs, and what I believe was a honey drizzle, was absolutely delicious. My only note is that the bread edges were toasted a bit too dark for my taste, leaving a slightly burnt crust flavor and aroma. Entrées I ordered the Seared Scallops ($48), which were plated with white potatoes, purple potatoes (possibly ube), and sausage over a rich sauce. Unfortunately, the purple potatoes had a burnt taste that was off-putting, and I wasn't able to finish much of my meal. My husband, on the other hand, thoroughly enjoyed his Grilled Striped Bass ($48), beautifully plated and well-executed. Final Thoughts While my entree missed the mark this visit, Andrew's outstanding service and the overall ambience more than carried the experience. The space is gorgeous, the concept is lovely, and I can absolutely see returning when the seasonal menu refreshes. In my opinion, it's worth a second chance, we will be back.

We only saw 2 young ladies working (1 server & 1 waitress). Think with small improvements this would be a solid 4 restaurant. I knocked off 1 start for accessibility issues. There was 1 lady in my party that has a walker but luckily she was able to navigate in & out of the building without any major issues. The Parking & bathrooms are a bit of a walk & may be difficult for someone with disabilities. I only saw 1 handicapped parking space. Plus all but the handicapped space in the parking lot is just sand/gravel. There's only 1 door for customers & it's located at the very front of the building (closest to Gilbert Rd). Know that the ramp to get into the building is quite short & steep. Also, the bathrooms are shared by the buildings in the complex & located in a separate building located behind the restaurant. *The ladies bathroom was clean, had a baby changer, & AC. It has a nice sized patio that runs along the front & side of the building with shade, fans, & misters. Too hot for my group on a 100+ degree day in AZ. Music is always on pointe and I would never change the look or ambiance of the place either. My last trip here though I had to ask about why the menu had stopped changing as often since we were one of two parties there in the middle of happy hour and there was a large framed picture of a bartender with a bunch of signed notes on the bottom of it beside me at the bar. It turns out that one of the oldest curators and bartenders of the bar and restaurant had passed from a drunk driving incident and I had not known at all! Gosh I was so disappointed in myself that I had ever complained about not having a new menu to try after that...but at the same time it was amazing to hear so many great anecdotes and to learn so much more about him and the history of the bar itself while dining this time. I had a lot of fun times at this bar - including remembering the first time I met that bartender and sharing that memory with the staff that told me their story. They also shared that they would be coming out with a new menu very soon and some of the new items and ideas that would be rolling out so I am also very excited to go back! New food menu tomorrow too?! What?! I was almost tempted to back today to get more of their amazing dishes from the main menu!! Thank you Cat for the amazing hospitality! To update about the food I tried but some of you may not get to try since they're changing it up :P *Tiger Shrimp - DIVINE - JUICY ZUCCHINI STUFFED WITH CURRY THAT MAKES YOUR ENTIRE MOUTH WATER JUST THINKING ABOUT IT ONCE ITS EVER TOUCHED YOUR TONGUE - the prawns are BIGGER THAN YOUR MIDDLE FINGER *Thai Salad - zesty spicy, VERY filling and made in lettuce cups, so very much not your typical salad but very tasty *steak skewers - much more like the juiciest steak I've literally ever had on a skewer - LITERALLY...but not because it's fat, just because they somehow made this steak completely juicified - don't ask me how - ask Cat *Mole Chicken Skewers - My favorite...you should just try it.

Sat at the bar where service was good, drinks were expertly prepared and really enjoyed the dessert! Food looked great as well, I really wish we had eaten here instead of wasting money at the other place.

We were setup in a separate dining area from the main dining room, which allowed for better conversation without added noise. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive the entire time we were there, which was a couple hours. The milk bread is an absolute must! It's so pillowy soft and the flaky sea salt perfectly compliments it. I ordered the Wise Decision cocktail, which was refreshing. For my entree, I had the shishito Caesar salad and was advised I could add a protein from their skewer selection of chicken, pork belly or oyster mushrooms. I asked the waitress about the chicken and she advised that they are smoked and will appear pink from that, so not to be alarmed, but are moist and really flavorful. While the filet was tempting (and what everyone else at my table ordered), I wanted something lighter. Thankfully I was not disappointed in my selection. The chicken was as delicious as described and could be cut with a fork. The Caesar salad was well dressed, but not soggy. Do I think it was worth the money to add the chicken? Not if I were paying, but since my company paid for it, I think it was worth it. This is a great spot for a date night or special occasion.

The milk bread and cast iron Brie were insane, I would totally recommend to get one each for the table to share. We got the bone in short rib and were pleasantly surprised with how much meat was on the bone and how easily it fell apart. The dish is a little heavy so I would suggest something else that is light/citrus to complement the dish. Overall the service and food at filthy left a great impression!

Today was no different, the service was perfect, just enough interaction that ensured no one waited for anything. The food was really good, I had the lamb slider, if there is anything I can say that's negative it would be the slider was too big to even fit in my wide mouth.my wife had the chicken sandwich which she loved and gas another lunch from the left overs, our friend had the zucchini grilled cheese which she completely enjoyed. The setting is beautiful, very large open windows and high ceilings. We really like this place, you should try it.

I had it on my list, but it's not in an area I usually go to. It's tucked away in commercial/ industry area around other businesses. Pretty well hidden. You would have to know its location to drive back there. Once you drive into the parking lot, you see all the trees and the white brick building. The interior and outdoor patio is a beautiful space and we opted to sit out there during some nice weather. For a Tuesday night it was surprisingly full, we had a reservation for 6:30 pm and were sat right on time. The service of everyone we interacted with was great. Our server was friendly and did a great job explaining the menu and making suggestions. We ended up splitting a few dishes- the burrata appetizer, octopus picatta piccante, scallop spaghetti, and roasted airline chicken breast with risotto. Everything was cooked perfectly and full of flavor. The cocktails were also well balanced and very enjoyable. All in all, glad we ventured out to that area of Mesa to enjoy a lovely dinner!

It was hard to make it here during my trip to Phoenix because of their limited hours, but I am SO…read moreglad I did. As a health food vegan, I am always on the lookout for food like this: whole foods/plant-based, including some oil-free options. Their whole menu reads like a list of my favorite food buzzwords: buckwheat, lentil cauliflower scramble, sunflower seed meat, local fermented sauerkraut, freshly milled Sonoran wheat; tempeh, sourdough, homemade seeded bread, homemade cashew milk, etc. etc. It was legitimately hard to decide what to get. I went with the baked(!) strawberry banana oat buckwheat pancakes. Super tasty, and a generous portion. I also couldn't resist an oil-free sunbutter cookie (with its wacky bluegreen tinge that was apparently from the sunflower seeds) and also loved the cold brew coffee with cashew milk.

It is a little pricey, however, it's worth the cost. As I mentioned, everything is healthy and made fresh. You can't get that without paying a bit extra Their bread is so good, the chutney is awesome, their little side salads are so tasty. I haven't tried anything here that I have not loved. They are a small husband and wife run business, which is always great to see. They are very friendly people who clearly love what they do. There's limited seating indoors, as it's inside Barnone, but you can easily find places to sit outdoors as well.
