Flower Child in Houston is one of my favorite places to eat. Me and my best friend eat there at least once a week. This is 100% not the Flower Child that I know. There were five of us eating and it came to $80 with a tip. First of all, for the amount of food that we got and for it not being a sit down restaurant where you're waited on, this is way overpriced. Second, I get the same thing that I get in Houston, steak, brown rice and broccoli. The food brought to me was cold to the touch. The rice was crunchy and it was stuck together and dark brown as though it had been scraped off the bottom of the pan. I sent mine back because it was just too hard to eat, and they brought back almost the exact same thing. I gave up. Everyone at the table was telling me to get my money back and I just wanted to move on and never come here again. Everyone agreed that there was no way that what we paid was worth what we got. While we were there, sitting on a very hot patio with no shade at a table that burned my grandson's arm (the tables get shockingly hot in the Phoenix sun, there needs to be enough shade to cover them) two of the very large umbrellas were knocked onto our table by the wind. They fell next to my grandsons chair. If it had just been a little to the left it would've hit him in the head and caused significant injury. This place is a total mess and an embarrassment to the Flower Child name. I'm just happy that I still have the one in Houston that does everything perfectly right. From the terrible food that I should've gotten a refund on, to my grandson who is six almost getting battered by their umbrellas that were not held down by anything, to the overpriced food, this is a place to be avoided. People in Gilbert won't avoid it though because they haven't been to an actual Flower Child that's any good. I feel sorry for them. This restaurant needs to do much better. read more

This place has gone way down hill. I had the Brussel Sprout Kale salad with grapes, apple, grapefruit, chicken and supposedly almonds. I had nothing but a big portion of Brussel and kale, and pretty good serving of chicken. The amount of fruit was a joke. I probably had 2 grapes, 4 very paper thin slices of apple and couldn't even find the grapefruit. Zero almonds. What I paid for was only the greens. I won't be going back which is sad because it used to be a really great place and now it has become stingy. read more

Being a brand new establishment with maybe new staff I have to give it a 2 star rating. We got seated fairly quick after placing our order, which by the way was "lost" and had to wait extra time for the kitchen to prepare. One of the managers was very apologetic. Food was okay with the exception of the chicken wrap my wife ordered, there was a piece of paper inside it. It looked like the paper used to keep the cheese from sticking to each other. Love this new location of one of my favorite spots! Had the chicken plate with broccoli and mac. I'm obsessed with the chicken and broccoli and I love the mac too. Everything was consistent and delicious. It was busy and I could tell they were all trying their best, some people need to chill a little when a place first opens up and cut the staff a little slack. Flower Child is awesome. The service, the food, the atmosphere is always excellent. My daughter and I like to go here frequently, and consider it one of our happy places. The food is delicious and the quality is dependable. It's health oriented and doesn't break the bank. Only downside is that a lot of other people seem to love it, too, so it gets pretty busy. i've been coming here regularly (once or twice a week) since they opened. at first, i was so happy and pleased with the service, the food, the atmosphere. but, since about october, the service has gone downhill, their steak is tough, and the past 2 times ive gone there my order has been wrong. the workers are always so kind and quick to fix the orders, but it happened twice in a row. the first time, my remake order was actually wrong again. the guy that fixed it was super apologetic and fixed it a third time. the second time ive had my order wrong, they were quick to fix it. but the steak has been a continued issue. it's tough, hard to chew, and a lot less flavorful. i used to tell my friends the NEED to try the steak, now i'm telling them to avoid it. i really love this place, and i would love to keep coming. it's unique and a lovely atmosphere, but if the service and food stay this way, i can't keep spending the money. read more

I want to give this place way more then 5 stars. First of all, the food was amazing!! Second of all, my friend and I went here to grab a mimosa, a good bite and to catch up. We were just chatting and drinking our mimosa and an employee came up to us to say that our food was taking a bit longer and they apologized when we didn't even think it was taking a long time at all. I used to eat Flower Child all of the time in Phoenix and have not been in a couple of years. This new location blew my expectations out of the water! I'm not sure if Flower Child revamped their menu or if this location is just way better than the others, but either way, it was delicious and so much better than it used to be (even though it's always been good). I got a Tofu plate with mashed potatoes and the broccoli and my boyfriend got a chicken plate with brussel sprouts and Mac and cheese and everything was amazing and had so much flavor!! The portion sizes are also WAY bigger than they used to be which is an added bonus. I'm so excited to see a location in Gilbert and will definitely be here regularly. read more

I picked up an enchilada bowl and was very disappointed. There were about 4 small pieces of pickled onion and they forgot the jalapeños on top. The enchiladas were very dry and not nearly as good as when I've gotten them in the past. This is my favorite meal from Flower Child but the quality seems to be going downhill. read more

Expect to pay a lot of money for a small amount of food. I went with a group of 4 people (2 female, 2 male) and the guys were still hungry after we left; we ordered 4 entrees and it was about $80. The food tasted good but the portions were just too small especially considering the cost. The guys (who were still hungry) wanted to go get tacos after leaving- we won't be back. read more

Let me first say that the food here is delicious which is why I marked 2 stars. But each time that I have come there has been one issue or another whether it's lack of cleanliness, lack of good customer service, cold food or fly's landing on the food. I just picked up a to go order and the container that my entree is in is so dirty (with food of some sort) I couldn't even sit it on my seat in the car. I had to ask for napkins to be able to clean the outside of the container off. I'm leaving a review because I really would like for them to do better! read more

Was hoping this place would be better. Had visited there store in Scottsdale and it seemed way better. Have been to this location 3-4 times trying to find something that I enjoyed but have stuck out each time. While I realize this is just a fast food restaurant which serves healthy food each time I was very disappointed in the quality of the food. It almost seems they just throw a bunch of stuff in a bowl call it healthy and overcharge for it with no concern for taste. Wish it was better but I will not be back. read more
