Just the type of food my wife likes. Pretty cool environment with healthy fresh food. Prices reflect the fresh and likely organic ingredients and is on the high end of price for fast casual dining. I had the beef wrap and my wife had the Mother Earth bowl or something like that. Unfortunately her barley was mixed with quinoa and she's allergic to quinoa so she ate around it. The food Is well presented and tasty. Service is great and food was delivered quickly to our table. We tried the Brussel sprouts and the green beans. Both were good in their own right. Only complaint is the green beans quantity was pretty sad as you can see from the picture. Brussel sprout portion was generous so odd that it seemed like the green beans were weak in the portion size. Either way I'm sure we will be back. Eat good, feel good & do good...so many feels from this Flower Child. Not gonna lie, I was really hungry before I took the picture of my lunch (Thai Dye with chicken instead of tofu comes with two wraps instead of the one that is pictured). This is by far my favorite item on the menu. Lots of nice clean eating options to choose from which is a nice change up from other dining options in the area. A dud for this place is the price, but this can be argued as it is fresh and high quality food. I'll also be checking out the "to go" option as there is always a line out the door. read more

This is a nice place. The food is very good. All the servers are nice. I don't remember ever posting a negative review before but here goes. Ordering is excruciatingly slow. Every. Single. Transaction. Takes. Forever. There are 2 order stations but I can't remember seeing both of them open even if there are 25-30 people lined up out the door. Something about the menu seems to confuse people so every single person takes forever to decide what they want and asks a zillion questions. Even if you're the third person in line you will stand there for 5 or 6 minutes. Waiting. If you're lucky. Yesterday I waited behind about 15 people and the line didn't move by so much as one person in about 15 minutes (only one register open and the same two customers standing there chatting with the cashier the whole time) I gave up after about 20 minutes because I had groceries in the car I didn't want to spoil. The only way I can deal with this place is to show up right at 11 when they open or about 3 to 4 in the afternoon. You'll still have to wait behind several people who can't make up their minds, but at least it's survivable. Lunch and dinner rush makes the ordering ordeal way more trouble than it's worth. Also. They have really good iced tea, and I used to stop in for iced tea to-go but a few months back they switched to the tiniest cups they could obtain, as is the case at other Fox restaurants. So if you're just stopping for an iced tea to go, it'll cost you $3.50 (plus tax and tip) for a cup so small you will have finished by the time you get back to your car. read more

Alright. Alright.... Been hearing loud whispers about this spot and unfortunately, where I live...makes it a little difficult to get to. Fortunately, I wandered far enough north off the 101 and found myself in front of this unicorn. Gotta respect a joint that sets out ice cold flavored water for thirsty cowboys & cowgirls, especially when we're already towards the end of September and its still 1,500 degrees out! Great appearance inside and outside. Amazing menu and beverages. Staff was extremely friendly and just as amazing as the grub. Great seating...and awesome atmosphere. Didn't wait long at all but plenty of ambiance to enjoy. One of the Employees....Cassie, even stoped by to make sure I was good to go! She was beautifully amazing! (Hopefully I spelled your name correctly.) I ordered the vegan poke bowl and tea- something quick, since I needed to get back to civilization. Amazing. Amazing! Delicious. This place is very laidback, it has a lot of open window feeling, front door was open and that gives it a great breeze feeling. Great chill music, and the employees are working hard and socializing between them so makes this place a whole lot relax. The food was just AMAZING!!! We got the "The Rebel", "Flying Avocado" & "organic brown rice" and lemonade was good. A little bitter but not bad at all and it's free refills. The food = fantastic! The service = exceptional! I'll explain.....I've been enjoying more vegetarian meals this summer and had really been wanting to visit this new location close to home. The menu is filled with nutritious & energizing comfort food - I decided on the Thai Cashew Quinoa Bowl because I have a HUGE peanut allergy and always love the flavors of Thai cooking when a non-peanut option is presented. I asked the awesome cashier to make a note of my allergy and she assured me they take allergens seriously. I was excited and headed to my table with my order number. The kitchen manager on duty followed me out to the patio to alert me that although the cashews themselves were peanut-oil-free, the dressing was "made on shared equipment with peanuts." Seeing I would need to avoid it, he immediately suggested I try a sesame hoisin dressing instead and it was simply lovely. This is the definition of food served with love and care. Bravo! read more

Very fresh and very healthy food. Casual place, great for lunch or dinner. Plenty of big and small plate options to choose from. I have tried so many things on their menu and by far, the flying avocado wrap is my favorite. Some of the sides are seasonal - red chili glazed sweet potatoes, Japanese eggplant and Indian spiced cauliflower are really good. Food is a little pricey but the quality and freshness is unbeatable. I stopped in on their opening day after receiving an email from Flower Child. It is a cute addition to that corner of Desert Ridge and it was still a bustling lunch crowd at 2:30. Everyone was very friendly, although I did not see any signs of the giveaways they had mentioned in the email- macaroons, flowers, kombucha tastings....not while I was there. I got my order to go. They have a limited space for to go orders- only two chairs for people waiting. Even though it was busy, my order was ready in about 10 minutes. I still think their prices are a little high but unfortunately I love their lemonades and iced teas and their food choices are healthy and fresh. I've had to eliminate gluten, dairy, soy, eggs, tree nuts, peanuts, and corn from my diet as my baby is allergic and I'm nursing her. I didn't think I'd be able to eat out with all the dietry restrictions on top of being a vegetarian! But not only Flower Child have dairy free, gluten free items on menu, they readily worked on my meal to remove or substitute all allergens. Even though they were 10 min from closing, they never made us feel rushed. The food is fresh, healthy and nutritious, although the portion sizes could be a little bigger. I normally go to another Flower Child much closer to my house, but I happened to be at Desert Ridge one day in January, and stopped in for lunch. The service was wonderful and quick. The lady taking my order was highly knowledgeable about the menu and friendly. I ordered the Mother Earth bowl with tofu and avocado hummus. My wife and I get take out from here often - at least twice a month. It's a healthier takeout option after work. Generally, it's great, and it should be great given the price point. But the last few times I feel like there have been a couple misses that seem to be more negligence or hurried than any really big issue. Very fixable and I just think it's worth bringing attention to it for management. Sauces have been really heavy lately and vegetables have been incredibly salty. Here are pics of the teriyaki shrimp and avocado bowl from last night - it could have easily been mistaken for an etouffee with as much liquid in the bowl. This is the second time it's happened and I know it's not the way it's meant to be. Really tough to eat with that sort of balance of rice vs. sauce. We typically order pickup here once or twice a month. We placed an order today for a 6:30 pickup. While we were waiting you could see others were waiting and the staff at flowerchild was doing everything to assure everyone that their orders were being worked on. My order was finally ready at 6:45 which wasn't a big deal for me. Carter who was helping me was so generous in offering to not charge us for our order. I declined the offer knowing how hard it is in todays times with short staff and completely understood. I love everything from flowerchild and will continue to support and eat there. I didn't even notice this until after going home but I ordered 2 Mother Earth bowls and both of it didn't even come with Avocado!!! Literally the menu says this dish comes with Avocado and Hemp Seeds and I didn't see none of that!!!! What the heck what a way to skimp diners! Tried Flower Child on my last visit to Phoenix in October. Love the atmosphere and the menu options. The Chicken Yakisoba Noodles was delicious and I highly recommend it. This time I ordered the Chicken Enchiladas and it was definitely one of the best chicken enchilada dishes I have had. The staff are friendly and the food served fast and hot. The rose petal lemonade and açaí black tea are out of control delicious! They have a vegetarian soup that changes daily-- the green curry cauliflower is bomb! The protein combo plates are awesome, particularly the cauliflower and sweet potato. If you're used to big portions, you may think the entrees are smaller than what you'd expect but I believe they're based on true serving size and they are definitely satisfying. If you treat yourself to dessert you will not be disappointed, especially if you order a chocolate chip cookie or a lemon zucchini muffin.
