This was a super cute place, with friendly and helpful staff. I loved the decor, and how they had fresh flowers on all the tables. I had the forbidden rice bowl and it was delicious. I loved how they offered allergy friendly options. The kombucha they had on tap was also extremely yummy. I will say though, if you are a soda fan you will be disappointed as they do not offer any here. I loved the other options, but my sister who tends to be soda crazed wasn't too thrilled. She did however, really enjoy her Mediterranean chicken kabobs and my mom loved her yakisoba noodle. I will definitely be back... especially since there's one by me in SD! read more

Food is amazing here. I had: steak entree with sesame noodles and watermelon tomato salad as sides. My guy had the avocado Cesar salad with chicken. Amazing flavors and ingredient pairings. Sesame noodles has thinly sliced apple and arugula leaves. Watermelon salad had tomato and goat cheese with fresh dill and mint. Was amazing!! Definitely will return to try the poke bowl. read more

The place was super-busy at dinner time the day after they opened, but the line moved pretty quickly, they handled seating efficiently, and our food came quickly. I ordered 3 vegetarian sides: the red Chile glazed sweet potato, sweet corn + quinoa, and cauliflower risotto. My partner ordered salmon with red Chile glazed sweet potato and sweet corn + quinoa. Flower Child isn't a full, sit down restaurant. You order at the counter, you're issued a number and your dish will be brought out to you. The 3 dishes I tried were all really fresh, but felt they were over seasoned. The avocado in the chopped salad was great in tying all the flavors together and mellowing out the strong vinaigrette, but the ginger miso crunch and forbidden rice were too much for me. Their dressing/sauce really overpowered all the other elements of their respective dishes and I didn't enjoy them as much as I hoped. Additionally, the forbidden rice's amount of sauce made the rice somewhat 'goopy.' The accompanying broccoli was al dente and added a nice crunch to the rice, so that was a plus. I think if I had added some proteins/meats to them, it would have been a more favorable experience. The crispy balsamic brussel sprouts were really good. They weren't overcooked to mushiness and were flavored just right. The balsamic flavor meshed really well with the charred brussel bits. Aside from that, I think the price points are appropriate and I am very thankful Flower Child offers citrus fruit infused water for anyone at their front door, to enjoy. read more

Great place to grab a bite when you want food that is both healthy and tasty. The Ginger Miso Crunch Salad has the right amount of ginger and was great without any added proteins. I also tried the Forbidden Rice, which had an interesting mix of hoisin sauce and a Smokey flavor I couldn't identify, I'd definitely get it again but would probably add some tofu. The only two sides I've tried were the sesame sweet potato and crispy balsamic Brussel sprouts, both were great and will be repeat offenders for my future visits. I met two friends at Flower Child for a late lunch. Walking in, the place is spacious, bright and clean. There's a QR code at the entrance for the menu, or it's also posted above the counter where we ordered the food. One friend wanted a paper menu and it was provided. I ordered first; asked for the soup of the day. Nope, they were out. Ok, the Green Chili Queso - nope, they were out. I ended up getting the Italian Chopped salad. Then came the annoying Tip-Or-Skip option on the register. So - I'm ordering my own food by standing at counter, have to get my own utensils and drinks, and I'm supposed to tip? That's not fair to the workers who suffer because I'm miffed at being guilted into tipping. One friend ordered the Thai Dye wrap, the other ordered Chicken Yakisoba Noodles. We were given numbers on stanchions to take to our table. The food arrived (we didn't have to go pick it up at the counter!) fairly quickly. The salad was delicious, but small for $11 - $13 with the "guilt" tip, and no protein. Both friends said their food was really good. This place has been open long enough to fairly accurately estimate their needs for food for the day. To be out of two items (maybe more ?) is unacceptable. This is a chain and seems to be very popular, especially with the younger crowd. The debate was two or three stars for the place. I"m not sure if I'll go back. Every time I've ordered curbside the food comes out 10+ minutes after the anticipated order time. Most recently, our food was 20+ minutes late upon pickup. I was recommended this place by a woman I was interested in dating, after I had mentioned one of my favorite Tucson restaurants was the nearby vegan establishment Lovin Spoonfuls. This Flower Child restaurant, while a "healthy eats place", isn't strictly vegan or vegetarian, but then truthfully neither am I, so I ordered a Carolina BBQ Chicken Wrap (very tasty with tender chicken breast, barbeque sauce that's not too sweet nor with too much spicy "bite" and accompanied by hearty salad greens) with an appetizer of Classic Hummus (creamy texture and rich fulfilling taste) with pita bread wedges (they were warm and soft). For dessert, it was the double chocolate almond brownie, with a thin outer crust and soft inner crumbly texture, & thin-sliced almonds, just the way I like them best! Tonight's experience: The bad first: The broccoli and cauliflower were too hard to eat. And the sauces and flavorings that accompany those sides were way too salty and the flavor was otherwise off. I get that they are going for al dente, but this was too raw, and then blackened. Tonight's good was the chicken was acceptable white meat strips of chicken. And the young lady who brought the food to my car was at my car door before I even had to call. The cake and the pudding were delightful. Now, I also got to-go a couple days ago, and that day the food was very good. The broccoli was actually so good that that's why I ordered it again today. First of all I like the atmosphere and the tea. The air conditioning work's good too, but they have those sprays going day and night on the patio even with no one sitting there, huge waste of water. The steak was tough and the other part was not really memorable. I also have a problem with them giving McDonald service and wanting a tip for me getting my silverware, drink, and everything else. They bring out the food and take away the plate, that's it. I know that limited service is the goal to move people through and get the money, but let's call it. It's a little nicer McDonalds. The chicken or grass fed steak are great mains, and I really like pairing it with gold potatoes and sichuan green beans. We thought the potato noodles were the Asian cellophane type noodles but they were potato zoodles. They offered Sriracha and hot pepper sauce options as condiments for our dish. A variety of protein options are available to add to any entrée or salad. My friends and I are fans of their sides which include sweet potatoes, although we have had their squash which was delicious. I am a big fan of their mother earth salad , they have a nice selection of lemonade available, which I'm a big fan of. I love their sunny open dining room. It's so airy and welcoming. They have outside seating, which is pretty pleasant although I haven't eaten outside. I look forward to returning again. When you order at the counter, they give you a number would you take to your table and then someone will bring your food to your table. There's not table side service, but that's OK. At my last visit with friends, we sat around a nice big oval table and it was just such a positive meal together a very homey atmosphere. We celebrated Mother's Day a day early and had dinner at Flower Child. We are big fans of Fox Restaurant Concepts, and my wife was really looking forward to coming here for the first time. The staff was friendly, and all our food was healthy and flavorful. To start, we had the avocado hummus, which was unique and pleasant. I also liked the kombucha, chicken yakisoba noodles, and chocolate chip cashew cookie. I was impressed with the number of customers who selected takeout. Flower Child has both indoor and outdoor seating areas, and from where we were sitting, I watched the seemingly endless line of customers who selected takeout. What I do not care for is this new trend of ordering everything at the counter and paying for it, including tip, before being served. No one came by to ask how everything was or how we are doing. I thought this was odd as it was not long ago when the restaurant business were asking for patronage during COVID and now it seems like we have taken a step back from hospitality. I will say that after finishing the meal, I went back to get a cookie (they are packaged) to share and I asked the young lady behind the counter if I was just supposed to take one and she said "oh yes; just go through them all and pick your favorite". I was really fortunate to be able to visit during friends and family day. I'm a vegetarian and ordered all of the vegetarian dishes. The salad was amazing. Probably one of the freshest salads I've had in years. The person I came with ordered the salmon and she loved it. We ended up having dessert. We were needing a restaurant that would have options for different dietary needs and this one fit the bill. There was a line waiting to order food at the counter, but a hostess came by to assign us a table while we were waiting. That way, after we ordered we had a place to sit and wait till our food was ready. The menu choices were great, and there was something for everyone. I ordered grilled chicken with two sides and it was all delicious. Everyone else enjoyed what they'd ordered as well--salads, wraps, and bowls. The staff was all friendly and helpful, even while they were so busy. We sat inside, but there was also outdoor seating.
