I wrote a review on this exact same location 2 and half years ago (April 2018) and gave it 5 stars. I have come here several times since then. Today, December, 29, 2020, I came here to get some croissants but wanted to try the kouign amman. When I walked in, there was just one almond croissant, nothing else available. I asked the owner and the other man there if they were making anymore and they said no. I explained I had called them for 3 straight days and even emailed them 4 days ago to try and set up an order. But with no response or answer I drove 30 minutes to get something. The owner was very standoffish and did not say much The other man said they run it out in first 4 hours of being open. As I turned to leave, I told them I was going to write a review about this and the owner mumbled from behind the corner "F... OFF." I stopped at the door, turned, and asked if he just swore at me. He yelled at me and told me to get out of his store. I asked again if he said, "F... OFF" and he replied, "so what if I did?" I do not doubt the quality of the product they have here, but there is no reason for a place like this, particularly the owner to ever swear at its customers. I came home and told my wife about this, and agreed we would unfortunately never go back again. Please keep in mind the behavior of the owner in this case when coming to visit this location. read more

I recently took a French cooking class and my teacher recommended the Fluffy Duck Cafe! She said the food was phenomenal and it truly was. I ordered an Apple Danish, a Kouign Amman, and a pourover coffee- all were excellent. The pastries were light and buttery, but not too dry. The coffee was bold and flavorful! However, we initially did not receive a great welcome. I went with some friends and we were all thrilled to be there! The cashier did not respond to our enthusiasm and almost seemed to be annoyed with us. The food here was excellent, but I cannot say the same about the customer service. I hope our unfortunate encounter was a one-time experience because this is a great cafe and I don't want others to get discouraged to try it due to poor customer service. read more

I always try to stop by The Fluffy Duck Cafe when in the area. Regarding the pastries: i've tried the Savory Scone and the Kouign Amann, both were delicious! Seems like a newer cafe; the interior is pleasant. The bathrooms say "whichever" and I thought that was clever. Will be back! read more

So read about the rude staff, absolutely true. Just walked in and walked out. It's 1:50, they close at 3. The girl working dough made sure to let me know as if it was a problem. I went to grab the one stupid menu that they had this old guy came and grabbed it from my hands and threw back at me across the counter without saying a word. So we left and they continued to look at land clearly talk about us as we were leaving. I wonder if it had anything to do with the fact they they were all white and my family is black. Hmm read more

I like this cafe a lot. Croissants are fresh and they taste really good. I have tried regular one, the almond croissant and another caramelized one. Apple danish is delicious too. My husband likes their coffee. And Spacious, quite, free wifi, good for sitting, eating, studying, and friendly staffs. A friend of mine said pizza is delicious too. The chef at The 9 recommended I check this place out, and I'm sure glad we did. Had the almond croissant, loaded with flavor, and the texture was perfect. Also had a caramelized croissant, cant remember the name, but was amazing. Welcome to the neighborhood, we will be back for a flatbread. Delicious baked goods with unique offerings like the walnut and date scone, which I highly recommend. I particularly like the texture of their scones which are a little flaky and crispy as opposed to the bland and cakey ones I've had at other places. We found Fluffy Duck Cafe online and decided to get some pastries there. Oh my god, were they good! Unfortunately, they were out of Kouign-Amann, but We got a date-walnut scone, a blueberry muffin, and an almond croissant. The scone was sweet, but not too sweet. The dates were sweet: nice and chewy, and the walnuts were a welcome addition to the surprisingly soft scone. It wasn't dry either! The blueberry muffin was excellent. Fluffy and full of blueberries, it was topped with a crust of sugar that was just delightful. The almond croissant was flaky, buttery, slightly sweet, and everything a croissant should be. Fluffy Duck also makes breads, which they use in sandwiches. I got a spicy turkey that was on a wonderful rye bread, and mom got a ham sandwich on oat. Both breads were fresh, moist, and wonderful. The rye is particularly nice and I would love to buy a loaf of it on my next trip to Cleveland. The cafe itself is open, airy and light. You can see directly into the kitchen, which is fun because they have giant wooden tables they make doughs on and when we were there, we watched the bakers making croissants. The staff is friendly, helpful, and gracious. Fluffy Duck Cafe is one of the best bakeries we've ever been to and we'll definitely be back: hopefully in time for the Kouign-Amann! read more

I went here today for the first time and I will definitely go back. Went at breakfast time, so I had an almond croissant - OH MY GOSH! It was so good - one of the best I've ever had. And believe me - I know croissants! The place was sparkling clean and the people were very friendly and welcoming. There is even entertainment - watching the breads and pastries be made! They also do lunch, so I will go back to try that, as well. And there is parking out back, which makes it easy, since it is in a busy area. read more

Great place to study and enjoy awesome coffee and pastries! All of their breads and pastries are made in-house and fresh daily. The latte/cappuccino flavors are creative (I.e., orange cardamom, local honey, etc) and taste great. There is nothing like walking into a pastry shop and being welcomed with the smell of dough, butter and sugar coming together in the oven. Much more like the kind of cappuccino you would get in a good coffee shop in Italy.
