Superman plumber saved the day. My boyfriend was out of the country, in Dominican Republic. His duplex tenant notified him that there was an issue with the shower. He called to see if I could find a plumber asap as there was a water leak. Right away I called 5 plumbers in the vicinity of Norwalk. Since it was Sunday morning I had to leave 4 voicemails. Thankfully this company I called last answered the phone live. Superman said he was just leaving & would stop by in about 10 minutes! Much to my relief he called back & immediately diagnosed the issue. Replace shower valve, thank goodness it was not worse. Once he fixed it, he sent me the invoice. I appreciated he did not demand immediate payment. Forwarded this to my boyfriend who was then able to see the details. Pull trim & replace shower valve cartridge. Clean any obstruction. Flush valve body. Lubricate & replace cartridge. Set temperature & reset trim. In addition, the existing shower handle Allen screw was stripped, so he was unable to remove the shower handle. Had to break the drill out in order to access the shower cartridge. A new shower handle & shower handle plastic attachment piece had to be purchased. There was no additional charge for the extra labor only the material $430.60 very reasonable. What a relief. I could now go about my day. I had a very old water heater that finally started leaking. William came out the same day and stopped the leak. The next day he came to install the new water heater. The job took less than three hours and he also replaced the top of my wooden stand (where heater was elevated on) which had some water damage. So today I had an appointment with the Mike Diamond company at 2pm to have them unclog my bathtub. Why Mike Diamond? Well, I hear their commercials all the time on the radio, so it's true what they say, the jingle sticks with you: "Smell good plumber." The plumber came to my house, and let me tell you, my bathtub was clogged, but the water was still draining pretty consistently. So I thought, "Quick snake job and we're good." Nope, the guy struggled for 45 minutes and kept giving me reasons why it wasn't draining. To make things worse, he left my bathtub in even worse condition, and now it won't drain at all. He told me that to fix it, a team would have to come on Monday. I'm thinking, "It's Friday, it's Super Bowl weekend, and I'm hosting." I told him no, and a few minutes later, he said he could have a team come tomorrow, but I politely said no. I went to Yelp right away and searched for the closest plumber near Norwalk, and Flush You Plumbing in Cerritos came up. Highly recommend this company. William is a very honest and straightforward person of integrity. We had a shower valve that wouldn't shut-off. This was on a Sunday afternoon. William was very accommodating and came by that afternoon to look at the issue. Told me that the valve for the specialty trim I had could not be repaired by a standard Home Depot type cartridge and needed to be obtained from a plumbing supply company (which couldn't be done till Monday). When he came on Monday with the new cartridge/valve, the old one had fixed itself. (I had turned off the water and he had opened the trim to ID the valve/cartridge model, then reassembled it on the initial view on Sunday). Somehow, this fixed the problem.
