Honestly it's difficult to imagine someone coming here to eat or drink and having a positive experience. I was at DFW for a layover, maybe 90 minutes total, and was hungry. I've been to other Flying Sauce locations and then saw this one inside the airport and thought wow, cool, I like that place, even bought a t-shirt from the one in Houston. The downstairs was less than half full but for some reason they were trying to shuffle people to their upstairs area. Nope, I'm not doing that, not walking up a flight of stairs with a carry-on bag. Strike one. Sat down, waited around until someone decided to come over and take my order. It took a while. The beer selection was good for an airport. But I was actually a little surprised by what they didn't have, plus they do a lot of rotators that aren't specified on the menu, and the server didn't seem to know what any of them were. Strike two. I ordered the "Nacho Libre," billed on the menu as a delicious, towering spread of supreme nachos with all the fixins. What I got looked like the garbage nachos you get at sporting events, some crusty looking chips someone tossed onto a small plate, half covered by a couple squirts of nacho cheese and a minimal (VERY minimal) amount of toppings. And when the check came, the beers were $9.99 and $8.99 respectively and the nachos were $14.99. It all came to $36.78, not including tip. Strike three. I'd have done better finding a fast food place on the concourse somewhere. read more

When everything in the Airport closes at 7:30 pm the Flying Saucer has last call at 9 pm! The service is quick, the staff is fun & they offer live music. They have 3 seating locations and we recieved our food within 30 minutes during the Rush! The location I visited was in Concourse D. Got told I had to move upstairs since the downstairs was closing for some reason at 2:30pm on a Sunday...moved upstairs sat at the bar where there was 1 other person; and all the TV's broken. Not a good start. The bar was rude, slow, and uninterested in any aspect of customer service. Additionally, I could see flies coming out of the beer catches and visible grime - the place didn't look look it's been cleaned in years and I shouldn't be surprised with a crap bartender. On 6/21, my friends and I stopped at Flying Saucer for dinner as one of the few restaurants that was open after 6:00 PM. We waited for an hour and a half for 2 orders of chicken tenders and one turkey burger. Our waters were never refilled and at least 7 tables who sat down after us were given food before us. We understand that restaurants are short staffed with everything going on and that the airport is a hectic place in general, but no one acknowledged how long we waited or apologized at all. Both the chicken tenders also came with the wrong sauce. At no point did any of the staff check in with us on where our order was, and they acted offended we when requested a menu (the QR codes on the table didn't work) and another drink. 0/10 read more

Our bad for not walking out also. Only one guy working the bar upstairs and all the tables. The food was cold when it came and they only delivered one of our two items ordered. So we asked to cancel the second half of our order. The managers attitude was sure we will cancel it, like I don't care. During a recent layover at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport my wife and I were looking for a spot to watch our college football team. The Flying Saucer was able to accommodate our needs and was conveniently located near our gate. The restaurant also serves a large selection of craft beers on tap which made the choice that much better. The restaurant has two levels: the ground level was packed with no seating at the bar and barely any seating at the tables but the upper level was mostly empty. We made our way to the upper level bar. We ordered some beer and Pork Belly Tacos. The tacos were surprisingly good for airport food. Tender pork sat on savory corn tortillas and was topped with spicy sriracha mayo and tart and tangy pickled carrots and cabbage. A major negative was the excruciatingly slow service. We, and others sitting at the bar, had to ask multiple times for the status of our food orders. The servers and bartenders were polite and friendly but seemed very disorganized and confused. Something as simple as changing the TV channel took three different servers over 15 minutes to figure out. However, this is a spot I would visit again next time I'm waiting for a flight in Dallas. read more

Andrea called me & my boyfriend over with so much warmth and enthusiasm. I really enjoy IPA's but I hadn't heard of the IPA's the had on tap but Andrea was more than happy to give me various samples! She even informed us of the beer classes she had taken and schooled us on the flavor profiles . Been a UFO member for over ten years working on my third plate love flying saucer but the airport flying saucer is not representative. Arrived and the system to scan your card isn't even booted up. Then the staff doesn't have the password and calls management they don't have it??? What's the point of being a UFO member if you can't get credit for your beers? Crazy! Same thing, dumped on the table no words. I had to find someone and ask for silverware. They gave me a napkin. I ordered another beer off of the app and it never came. I again had to track someone down and ask about the beer. He brought it out finally and dropped it on the table. No words. Time to pay the bill on the app. It asks to add a tip? Like many restaurants, The Flying Saucer utilizes a QR Code system to view the menu and order your food for faster more efficient service. Well that was not my experience here. I sat at the bar, and when I scanned the QR Code at the seat I was assigned, their system showed an outstanding pending tab of $51.20. Needless to say, I was not able to order food or drinks. When I asked for assistance from the bartender, he simply gestures to wait a minute. After a little over 9 mins of waiting, I asked for assistance from another employee who immediately pointed at the bartender and responded, "They'll help you right there." At which time the Bartender with an attitude I might add said, "I told you to wait, I'm busy". My husband and I ate here for dinner last night as our connecting flight was cancelled. The beer was good but the food was horrible. I had the hippie burger (vege) for $18.99 The burger tasted old and was the consistency of cardboard. I basically ate the bun and condiments The fries were just okay. My husband got the turkey burger and he did not enjoy his either and he is not fussy. I paid the bill but now wish I had said that we couldn't eat our meals they were so bad. I had my first meal there maybe a year and a half ago and had a nice pizza and a good local beer. Flying saucer was always known for pizza. The menu now offers just 2 pizzas. 2! Cheese or pepperoni. The burgers we ended up getting were bland and everything was fries. Cisco cafeteria grade food at best. The only bright spot was the good selection of beers, many from Texas and the Dallas-Fort Worth area specifically. Not overly expensive for airport beer. After studying the dining guide at DFW, my family decided to get food to go from Flying Saucer. We ordered the Turkey Burger, the Chicken Sandwich and the Hippee (veggie) Burger without the bun. After we found a remote area to eat we opened the containers. One of the containers had fried chicken tenders and the other 2 containers had burgers with a bun. Immediately I thought that they messed up my Hippee Burger order so I walked back to the restaurant and informed them of that. The bartender (who we ordered from) was super nice and friendly and immediately went to the kitchen to order the change. When I returned to my family I opened the container and was pleased to see that there was no bun as requested. But as I started eating the veggie burger I noticed that there was NO sauce and it was the most tasteless piece of food I've ever eaten. Think soft cardboard. My husband was a couple of bites into his "Turkey burger" when he realized that it was actually a veggie burger, also with no sauce. My daughter, who ordered the chicken sandwich, said "the chicken is okay" and then my husband realized that she had his Turkey burger but there was also no sauce on it. The fries were soft, greasy, and flavorless. Honestly, the most flavorful piece of food in my meal was the raw red onion. The 3 burgers and 3 waters came to a whopping $76.15!! Any other place would have been better especially for that price!
