** Catering review ** I wanted to highlight what an amazing job Focaccia has done for the past 2 days for a work event. For breakfast we ordered: -parfait -hard boiled eggs -lox and bagels -fruit bowl (not pictured) For an evening social, we held the event at the Focaccia building: -assortment of skewers (veggie, chicken satay, spicy shrimp) -cheese and fruit platter -Brie platter -crostini -meatballs in gravy -crab cakes -assorted dessert The catering team is amazing to work with and attentive to detail. During the evening when our group held an event on their site, the area was amazing to hold an event. The site has a pool table, darts, huge connect four, corn hole, and even karaoke. A salad ordered on 14-Aug-2024 was found to have a wasp trapped inside after it was paid for. Luckily, the wasp was noticed before eating the salad. This was reported to the staff and they promptly took back the salad and replaced it. Staff was very friendly and willing to replace the contaminated food. read more

The best kept secret for dine-in breakfast and brunch in SSF. Dining room is quiet, clean and unhurried. Free and always available parking. Pricing is fair for daily trips, quality of food is great and portions are generous. Servers are courteous, polite and remembers you. I always go for the chicken cutlet for brunch, chicken fried steak for breakfast, but any item on the menu is prepared well, boxed nicely and importantly delicious. their bagel with cream cheese always hits a spot. Went here yesterday and had a hot skirt steak sandwich on white focaccia. Bomb AF. Can't say much about the other sections in the store, but I had to come back today and had the hot roast beef sandwich. Great vibe, they stay open until 3pm so perfect for late lunch, and no issues parking if working in the area. Ample parking spots I their visitor lot. I frequent the SSF area for work and this will definitely be one of my fav spots for a sammy. read more

Focaccia is all about freshness, variety, and convenience for me. During the pandemic, they initially struggled with indoor/outdoor seating, remote ordering and pickup, before settling on pure delivery with four set delivery times at breakfast and lunch. My favorite quick bite to eat is a lox bagel with avocado. I enjoy the variety of both their set menu salads and the ability to create my own. Lots of options as well as seasonal options. If I were to complain about anything, it would be that their chicken tends to be on the dry side, but they seem to be improving on that front as of late. read more

This place looks pretty promising. There's a salad station, sandwich station and hot entree station. Coffee and pastries on the far side. I ordered the chicken Marsala with two sides, rice and Mac and cheese. Tastes pretty good and pretty generous portions! Can't wait to try more stuff here. Bad value for money and very poor service On a few occasions I've been charged different prices for the same thing The latest arbitrary charge I ordered a bagel with lox 2 weeks ago the charge was 6.32 Today I ordered the same bagel and I was told it was 8.99 + tax it will be $10 dollars and change. I spoke to the manager about this difference in cost, she said the first charge was a mistake and for this one time she will reduce the $10 dollar charge and charge me the $6.32 that I paid 2 weeks prior. I refused the offer on the grounds that I can be randomly charged, whether it be overcharged or undercharged. This to me is a reflection of the lack of training and alignment with the servers and the overall staff. I've also observed servers serving extra pieces of salmon to some of their favorite customers and when I called him out on it he said he didn't do it, I was standing right beside the guy he gave extra food to. Between the high cost, random charges and poor customer service I give this place 1 star read more

This place MIGHT open the doors by 6am, but they are not ready to fully serve anything till after 6:30 am. You MIGHT be able to get coffee right when they open...at 6. I have had the breakfast burrito and I thought it was really good but a bit overpriced. If this place was open when they say they are open I would be more inclined to keep going there. But I would only go there more often if they lowered their prices a little bit too. South San Francisco is not San Francisco read more

The salads here are great! It is the best thing that they offer. The hot food has been hit and miss. Parking is not always available, so take that into consideration. On the plus side, it is not overly busy. What did I learn today? The limited parking was even more limited by having much of it roped off. read more

I've read the reviews and I think people may be a bit harsh. Yeah they're pricey but that's nothing new for the Bay Area. Their food is always fresh and the place is always kept clean. Staff is friendly and reasonable. Have never had a bad experience just be prepared to pay a few bucks extra for your salad/sandwhich. read more

Bad value for money and very poor service I work in the building and this is the only close option for food. Still I never go unless desperately hungry and short on time. The price / quality of the restaurant is very poor. Tastes like British cantine food from previous decade at SF price. Service is bad. This morning I tried to get a bagel: 4 customers in line and 6 employees or so behind the counter. One if the employees waiting for the omelette he prepares for the person in front of me, not able to multi task. None of the other employees interested to attend to people in line. Waited 5 min or so then walked out, don't want to leave more money here than necessary. My waste line and my wife will thank me. read more

I am a daily visitor to this place . I went in today to get my normal chicken/rice/beans . The guy serving the sides dumped the beans all over the container and left the water making it a "bean soup" . Please train your people on how to serve food correctly . The people make this place INCREDIBLE. The salads are amazing and the wraps are out of this world. José (in the wrap/sandwich section) makes the most unbelievable veggie wraps! I have brought coworkers and business partners here to eat his famous veggie wrap, and many of them say that it's the best wrap they have EVER had. He is a gem. read more

LOVE this business! I recently started working in South San Francisco, which is a vast wasteland of office buildings with no restaurants except Specialty's in my area. I happened to stumble on this one day while I was going past the huge office building that it's in. The restaurant itself looks almost brand new - everything is clean, clean, clean, shiny, and there are no signs of wear. Lots of sunshine, counter space, room to move around. I believe this chain emphasizes fresh ingredients, and they certainly haven't gone wrong there. I tried a salad with spring mix, artichokes, blue cheese, and salmon (you have your choice of several different types of greens). The counter person was sweet and friendly and gave me a piece of their fried chicken nugget-type things when I asked what they were. The first three additions to their salads are included with the price ($8.50, I think). I also picked up a container of cubed Mexican papaya for my afternoon snack, so that with the salmon on the salad came to a grand total of $13.00. Not cheap, however if I'm looking for a healthy lunch in this area, it sure fits the bill. I'm looking forward to going back today for another salad! read more

If I can use adjectives to describe this "Restaurant" it would be overpriced, inadequate and tasteless. A piece of chicken and a portion of rice for $15.99 which isn't all that tasty. You have got to be kidding me. Prices tend to change arbitrarily based on who is at the counter. You might end up getting 2 meals for the price you pay here for 1 in most places. The only saving grace is the Gentleman who makes sandwiches with a lot of care. We are forced to get our meals here because that's the only option right now. read more

I absolutely love the many options and dressing from the salad bar. Lots of great vegetarian options and the meat is also very juicy and tasty! It's a bit pricey but you get a lot for what you pay in regards to the salad read more

There are many things I dislike about this restaurant: 1) When one of the servers makes breakfast, he does not switch gloves after he handles raw eggs and then touches other food 2) All of the food from the hot food area is overcooked, especially the fish. They cook the food earlier in the day, then leave it on hot plates 3) Prices are pretty high for mediocre food 4) The salads are their best items, but still rather bland I would recommend avoiding this place if you can. If you are condemned to eating here because you work in the building, you should probably get a job somewhere else with better food options. The best salad bar! Everything is FRESH. They charge by the items.. not the weight.. which is perfect because I usually like the heavy items and end up paying too much at other salad spots. I come here once or twice a week for lunch. Beautiful location in ground floor of the SAP and ICIX building in South San Francisco. I usually get the small salad with three free toppings, one of them usually being a hard-boiled egg, and balsamic vinaigrette dressing. I've had the sandwiches, too, which are large and tasty. You always get a free slice of Focaccia bread when you get anything for lunch. I've been for breakfast, too. The apple pastry is my favorite. We get our lunch here everyday and recently it has just gone completely downhill. The hot food is absolutely ridiculous and the meat looks and taste like pure rubber. A coworker of mine just had a chicken kebab today and he is sitting here waiting patiently to get food poison from the chicken. The only nice hot food we ever had was the baked potato station, and go figure it was only ever on the menu once. We get coffee every now and then in the mornings and yesterday was the final straw when the coffee we got was freezing, not even lukewarm and I must add it was flavored with vanilla sweetener (that's disgusting). I will say however, I had a great breakfast sandwich made the other day that I enjoyed (it did take 15 minutes though). The only bit of food that is consistent is the salad station (shout out to the awesome workers) but I am getting bored eating salads every day and would like a better hot food option. It pains me to give this place only one star as it is the only food option in Brisbane but I can no longer keep my silence when dealing with the hot food. read more

I have been to this location a few times and it has yet to disappoint! I usually get a sandwich as the bread is always fresh, they hook up the meat and there are plenty of delicious veggies to pile on. Try it toasted as it adds something to the flavor. read more

food is decent. but, if you want any hot breakfast, be prepared to wait. a. long. time. try 15 minutes for the two people in front of me to have their orders completed. and, another 5 minutes to get my breakfast sandwich made. so, terrible grill service which results in a terrible customer experience. but, hey, at least the long wait to order and the long wait to get my order made is consistent. i only eat here because i work in the building. otherwise i would eat here all the time - that is, when i have an hour or two to burn. read more
