Fog & views!! Total 3.5 stars! But since I can't do half, I'm rounding it!! The new new! Everything is new in Seattle these days. This ones peaked my interest because it has a rooftop. We have rooftop bars but less than 5! Especially for high rises. The views! The space is big but walking in around 5 pm: all the comfy window couches were taken! So we sat outside! In the wind and rain. It was still pretty comfortable. Note to self: sit next to the fire pit next!! The drink menu seems good. But I went with my usual drink: whiskey sour! Which also happens to be on their menu but with a twist. It was more fruity! The service was ok. The water got refilled once. It was raining outside so I get it. The bar inside is pretty and expansive. Next time I'm sitting at the bar for a faster service. Overall, it was good!! Love the views! read more

I wish I could give this place 0 stars as it most definitely deserves it. The service was horrible even though you pay to be a Hilton Honors member. They closed down the bar downstairs and we walked up to the fog room to grab a couple beers to take back to the room, we were greeted by an a**hole of a manager that accused us of bringing in outside beers because the bartender failed to open them. He became very hostile towards my father and I. When we told him that we purchased them from the bar he became very defensive and insulting. Insisting that we leave which we gladly had no problem with due to the complete lack of hospitality from this horrible hotel, and its staff. Please find another place to stay. For the price you pay you it is definitely NOT worth it, please find another place to stay. read more

I really enjoy the Fog Room. I started coming last year and now it's a stop each time I visit Seattle. It is a popular place and often busy but you can certainly find quiet times to come if you just want to relax. The deck with fire pits is a great touch for the night chill. With clear sight of the Olympics, ships coming and going on Elliott bay, and skyscrapers of the city it's a great place to hang out. I would give 5* but I haven't tried to food yet! I'll report back. Terrible experience. Walked in to the hostess buried in her phone. She didn't look up for a good 30 seconds of us standing there. Showed up for our 6:30 reservation and we were offered a dusty patio chair or a couch in the corner. Neither of which had a table, when we were intending to get dinner. There wasn't a table for our reservation because of a private party apparently. We sat at the bar for one drink and the bartenders said less than 10 words to us. No semblance of customer service, nobody said "welcome in" or "how are you doing". We promptly asked for the check, where we discovered that 20% gratuity was automatically added to every check. No wonder customer service was bad. Never going back. read more

Would give it less than 1 star if i could.. Spoiled our Saturday night over the long weekend.. We had a reservation for a party of 2. Waited for about 10 mins downstairs before speaking to the hostess who told us she couldn't seat us outside. We saw a table available and asked her if she could seat us there and she proceeded to inform us that they were reserving that for a party of 3 that will be arriving later (despite us having a reservation for that time). P.S. their policy also states that all preferred seating is first come first served so they were contradicting their own policy. read more

The new bar on the 16th floor of the Charter Hotel at 2nd and Stewart has some work to do I do like to give places 5 stars when I like them. I usually start at 5 and then it drops from there. It lost a star when the $8 bacon wrapped dates came. There were 2 of them. Really? For 2 dates wrapped in bacon and stuffed w/ blue cheese and walnuts? Good, but not for that price. The $15 hamachi crudo was also quite small. It took less than 2 minutes for my wife and I to finish it. It lost a star for sloppy workmanship. They have pendant lights that hang over the length of the bar that have a clear plastic or glass cover that encapsulates the light. I posted a picture of this. Most of the fixtures still had the sticker with the name of the light and product code. Some did have the sticker removed and showed its nickel finish. That's real tacky. The electrician did not bother to remove them, hence a lack of attention to detail, and the contractor either did not notice or care. Since I work for a high end GC, this is stuff that I notice instantly. That's unacceptable. Another thing they need to do is put some motorized sun shades for sunny days. It was blinding in there at 3pm. I would have given it 3 stars if it were not for the mandatory 20% service charges and then a line for a tip just to give you some guilt. Now the service was good, other than the fact no one ever came back and asked us if we needed another drink. We had to interrupt the bartender to get the second round. I usually give a minimum of 15% gratuity, even for bad service. Most of the time I give 20 and up to 30% for great service. I hate having it decided for me. read more

Reserve seating that quickly runs out on weekends - for great reason! Perfect spot for drinks/cocktails, and the food is pretty good but so-so value. Had the Toki highball and Fog Burger, medium rare. If you are coming for a spot with a view and for some conversation, a must visit a couple of blocks away from Pikes Market in downtown. read more

Reserved an outdoor table a month ahead. I was just back from a fun week in LA and excited to find a new cocktail bar for business and social. Even with 3 empty outdoor tables they made us sit indoors. After we were settled and drinking, they told us we had to move to a different area- no explanation or even a smile. We were stuck in a back corner and lost our view. We went from two close together sofas to far apart chairs where we couldn't hear each other. On our way out we noticed two elderly people in our spot with the rest of the area of sofas empty. Just why? Every server was rude. I wonder if it's because tipping is included so they don't try? Paid $120 for 3 drinks and 2 tiny small plates (one was fries). Drinks were ok but nothing spectacular. I prefer goldfinch tavern, the Fairmont, or the Nest. This place was great! It has the best views, amazing drinks and exceptional food. We came here tonight for a birthday date night and we're greeted by a very friendly hostess. It was very cold and windy out and she was kind enough to seat us inside. Our waitress was very helpful in helping us decide what to eat. The wagyu was soooooo tender and buttery. The burger was juicy and well seasoned with fries that had the exact right amount of salt. Our drinks were just as tasty. Not too strong, not too weak. What a great spot. Definitely a swanky vibe but fairly reasonable prices for such a nice place. They have indoor and outdoor dining all with that incredible view! A great selection of cocktails that all look as nice as they taste. Great food selection as well. This roof top bar is cute but you're mainly going to be looking out at tall buildings and slivers of the sky. That being said it was still a nice view during a sunset. The service is very friendly and attentive. It has a business casual atmosphere so it's comfortable for most occasions. This rooftop bar is amazing! I love the views it offers, it feels relaxing and it's pretty modern. The drinks were bomb, the fries and oysters were great (don't judge on the combination). The hostess in person and over the phone was easy to talk to and make adjustments to our reservation number. Definately coming here again. The reason for the 4.0ish because our server took too much time to get to us. It took him 15 minutes to greet us. Then when we were ready to order, we did not see him for a solid 20 minutes, so I walked up to the bartender to get service. Waited 30mins for a drinks for our 4 person group with the place half empty. We ordered a round of shots to go with our drinks. They showed up and delivered 3 people's drinks and 3 shots. We ask where the 4th persons order was and they said oh we forgot. We wait 10 more mins and then proceed to flag down another waitress to ask the same thing. We are then told they are out of the beer and Jameson (shot he ordered) so he needs to completely reorder 45 mins later at this point. Waitress'a response was sorry the bartender is new and learning how to make drinks. We asked for the check and left. Terrible service and view is not worth the price nor waiting 45mins for a single drink. Water guy was the one positive as we had 4 rounds of our water refilled by the time we got our first drink. Skillful bartenders (at least 2 were "flair" bartenders), good wine lists, great choice of spirits, nice bar snack menu (try the duck sliders w magical mystery pickle slice). Beautiful sunset views. Cute place, dim lighting designated seating areas since the host had to seat us. The place was fairly full. There was a lot of alcohol drinks offered. Got an invitation to check out Fog Room for a birthday. Nice concept. Wasn't sure how the view would be since it's on 2nd and has a few buildings in front of it. But you know, it works. You get to peak into the Sound, catch a glimpse of the Ferris wheel, and high rises up and coming. It is a nice vibe when the city slows down in the evening. The layout is a great lounge vibe with several chairs and couches that make it social and intimate at the same time. They have some great paintings of a foggy Seattle decorates throughout. The outdoor seating I was skeptical because it can be a hilly, but they did a good job with the heaters and fire pits. The tapas were yum, cocktails and price are abou what you'd pay anywhere else.
