Fellow Elite Yelper eating one of the amazing meats.
    Tish W.

So this was a date night with a couple of YELP Elites that I known for forever. We decided to do dinner and they chose Fogo de Chao. What a great choice, This restaurant was amazing Me and the Mister got there early so we got a decent parking space. The parking is cramped but they offer valet parking for $10.00. The restaurant is located in a very busy parking lot so be prepared to drive around valet park. The entrance to the restaurant is beautiful. It is large with beautiful windows and amazing lighting. They have a smaller back room where we were seated. We had I believe three servers. Omar being our main server. He was funny and helpful. He explained how the Churrasco worked ($78) and the difference between that and an entree. Me and my fellow yelpers order the Churrasco and my Mister ordered Chilean Sea Bass, his go to.. All meals come with the amazing salad bar. That in itself is a whole Yelp review. Salad bar had everything and I mean everything. There were salad choices, fruit (even dragonfruit). They had peppers, cheeses, salamis, soups, black beans and rice, and olives. All the Misters favorites. Being such a bready how did forget the bread the started us off with. It was a delicious cheesy bread. The also have a bar for those of you who drink. After you get your salad bar the bring you mashed potatoes, fried polenta, and plantains. All delicious. By now I guess you are wondering where the beef. Then it starts. You get a little card thats red on one side and green on the other. Once you flip it to green the meat starts coming and it doesn't stop until you flip the card to the red side. Meat selection included Brazilian sausage, filet mignon, chicken, lamb, steak wrapped in pork, bone in ribeye, and picanha (what they are known for). When I say it was a lot it was a lot. It was so much that I forgot to save room for dessert. I can't wait to bring our other foodie friends and our kids back. This was truly a great place and for the price well worth it. Again shout out to Omar who was amazing and patient.). One last note make sure you come on an empty stomach....

Fogo de Chao for Happy Hour is always a hit! Great $ for both drinks & appetizers. The place is beautiful with high ceilings with a nice bar area. However, the same usually cannot be said for the FULL CHURRASCO dining experience for $79/person. This was probably my 10th time attending a birthday dinner at this Brea location, and the food is never good. The meat tastes bland (lacks seasoning) and the only thing that ever tasted good is their Tomato Bisque. I came here tonight and even the bread was rock hard. Right now, I am literally wide awake at 3:30am because I am up sick to my stomach with food poisoning. I am still giving a 3 star review because our server was great. She was such a sweetheart and very attentive. Also, we got seated rather quickly so that was a huge plus.

This review is for the bar which serves an all day happy hour menu. On Tuesday afternoon, there were plenty of open bar seats available. The menu offerings include small bites for $6 and other discounted items. The most popular is the $10 burger with polenta fries. It was so delicious and cooked just right. I also tried the beef rib which was my favorite. The meat was so tender and flavorful. Also included is free cheesy bread which is served hot. A must try! The ambiance and service were great. I would recommend coming to try the happy hour menu at the bar sometime. If you sign up for a free membership on their website, you can get $1 caipirinhas (signature Brazilian cocktails) on Tuesdays.

Overall, the experience was okay, but it didn't quite live up to the price. The lamb was flavorful and definitely the highlight of the meal. Unfortunately, the chicken was dry, and the sides, especially the cheese bread, were only barely warm when they were served. Service could have been better as well. Our waiter seemed to forget about our table, so we never got a water refill and had to share one bottle throughout the meal. It wasn't a bad experience, but there are a few areas that could be improved.

We paid $54 without tip for Best of Brazil and I don't necessarily think it was the best of Brazil. They have a large salad bar in the center but with a crowd it's difficult to get around all the tables. The food had little to no seasoning. We asked for salt which has saved a lot of the meat. But we barely got any meat with the slivers they served. Service was okay it was a little chaotic some people even shoulder checked into us and meat juices spilled on our lap. I don't know if it's worth it to go here. Not worth the price the outside looks nice but for the money I'm sure you can get a large picanha and cook it way better than the restaurant and save money. Unfortunately I was hoping for better quality and service but I don't think I'll be coming back. The drinks and the salad bar had more flavor than the meat. The only positive thing meat wise was the spicy beef and lamb. If you like salads this is the place.

My husband and I went there to celebrate my birthday. We arrived as soon as it open for lunch. We were seated promptly. We ordered the full churrasco meal which includes meats, market table salad bar and sides. The meats were plentiful. They keep coming around with different kinds of meat. My favorites were the New York strip steak and the filet mignon. The Brazilian cheese rolls were delicious. I highly recommend it. You can get refills on the cheese rolls. But try not to eat too much of that or you won't be able to enjoy all the other stuff. The salad bar has many items to choose from. It has different salads, vegetables, fruits, cheeses, soup, beans and rice. My favorite was the maple glazed bacon. From previous visits at the Downtown location, I really like their fresh fruits. It is usually very ripe and sweet. Unfortunately the fresh fruits were not very good at this visit/location. They were not sweet. It cannot be that all the fruits were not in season. None of the following fruits I had were sweet: pineapple, papaya, dragon fruit, kiwi. Our server was friendly and attentive. She offered me a complimentary dessert for my birthday. I had the Creme brûlée and it was delicious. This place has a large seating area. It gets loud and noisy when there are a lot of people. The tables and chairs are arranged rather close to each other. The aisles between tables are not very big. Despite the fruits not being sweet and seating area packed, we had a good time.

A vegetarian at a steakhouse?! Yes, it IS possible but I was NOT impressed. Upon entering, we were told the next open seating time would be about 40 minutes. We opted to wait but the hostess made it seem like we needed a reservation to even be there. Whatever. Once we were seated, our server explained the process and took our orders. I opted for the seared tofu as an entree and added the market table. Everything at the market table & feijoada bar was bare and needed to be replenished. Every item was nearly empty down to the bowls and plates. Once I was able to actually get some food, I noticed several patrons just walk up, grab food items (bacon, fruit, bread etc) with their bare hands and walk away. SMH The seared tofu entree I ordered was bland. It was 2 pieces of seared tofu cut in half to make 4, and a cup of spinach rice. (Which is the same rice at the "salad bar"just mixed with spinach) Honestly, it looked and smelled better than it tasted. The other people in my party had the churrasco experience. They all said the meats were well done and NOT to their liking. Some meat was so tough and dry it was like eating "hot jerky". Also, all the meats listed on the menu were not even offered to them. All in all, with the quality, quantity and cost here for a vegetarian dining at a steakhouse is a hard pass for me.

I've been wanting to go to Fogo de Chao for the longest time and I was finally able to with the hubby and another friend who is also yelp elite! We made reservations for a Saturday evening around 7. There is parking but when it's packed it's hard to find a spot and so they have valet parking for $10 to help. Thankfully we found a spot close by. The place is huge inside and I didn't expect to see so many tables and people as soon as you enter lol. We were seated in a smaller back area which was still a lot of People but didn't feel so overwhelming. We had a few servers that helped us that night but Omar was our main server for the evening and explained the process to us ( thank you for being with patient with us!) Me, the hubby and my friend ordered the full churrasco ($78) and her hubby ordered the Chilean sea bass. They all came with the option for the salad bar as well. They also offered Cheese bread for our table which had a crunchy outside and soft cheesy inside. The Salad bar was delicious and I would have loved to try more of it. It consisted of roasted peppers, a variety of fruits and salads, olives, cheeses, salami, a variety of salads, Soups, rice and beans. They have a small all day happy hour for drinks and I ordered the Red blend the seeker wine ($8). The food also came with a side of mashed potatoes, fried polenta and plantains for the table. So at this point you can get pretty full with just these things. And then it's time to flip your cars over to yes please, and then the meats come ( sausage, filet mignon, chicken and steak wrapped in pork, picanha, lamb chops, bone in ribeye, roasted chicken, etc.) When I say I was full and satisfied I mean it! I really had to stop after awhile and a few of the meats I didn't try just because it was so much lol. The staff was great and I'll definitely be returning which an empty stomach!!

Return of the Carnivore -- Fogo de Chão is a splurge -- full stop. Which is why the lunch Churrasco Experience at $55/person is the best value. Still not cheap, but the closest thing to a deal this place offers. Last time, we made the rookie mistake of loading up at the Market Table -- the salads, charcuterie, soups, salmon -- all lovely, all traps. This visit, we exercised restraint and waited for the real reason we came: the meats. Picanha. Rib eye. Sirloin. Lamb chops. Each arriving tableside on a sword, because subtlety is not on the menu here. We paced ourselves. We were rewarded. Pro tip: The humbler proteins come out first -- chicken, bacon-wrapped sausages, and the like. Perfectly fine, but not why you're here. Flip your table marker to red and hold out for the premium cuts. Patience is a virtue. Picanha and prime rib are the reward. Would it have been quite as sublime if our meal hadn't been covered by a friend's gift certificate? Hard to say. Shoutout to Myra -- you are a person of good taste and generosity, and we are so lucky. Five stars. No hesitation. No asterisks.

Yummy meat selection! I went to celebrate a birthday and we chose to do the full churrasco that includes Picanha, bone in ribeye, sirloin and more. Every single meat is tender and really good although for the ribeye, it is a lot more saltier. The salad bar is nice with assorted salad and side dishes including prosciutto and some soups. The staff is accommodating and when a meat is not grilled enough, they would take it back to the kitchen and told us that they would come back and they did which is nice. Really nice and pretty interior with large windows and tall ceilings. Perfect with date night and having dinner with friends/ family.

We visit Fogo de Chão at least once or twice a month, and it's our go-to restaurant for special occasions. We typically go for the Full Churrasco Experience as we enjoy the grilled cheese with honey, grilled pineapple, picanha, ribeye and beef ribs among other meats. During our most recent visit, however, we were disappointed when the steak service became very slow. At one point, we waited over 10 minutes without anyone stopping by our table with additional cuts of meat, which took away from the experience we normally enjoy. However, Also, Omar and Lestat completely turned our evening around. We love Aldo for being our server. He was friendly, welcoming, and helped make our visit enjoyable despite the delays. Even though Omar wasn't our server, he noticed the situation and stepped in to make sure we were taken care of. He was attentive, proactive, and genuinely seemed to care about our experience. Lestat was also wonderful and helped put us at ease with his kindness and professionalism. We appreciate how he rounds on every table, and he's done that every single time we've visited. While the slow steak service was frustrating, Omar and Lestat's exceptional customer service made all the difference. Their efforts reminded us why we continue to return to Fogo de Chão for our celebrations and special occasions. Thank you both for going above and beyond to make our evening enjoyable despite the challenges. You truly made us feel valued as guests. We look forward to our next visit!

Came here to celebrate a reunion and the food was amazing. My favorite cut of the night was the short rib and the lamb chops. Our servers were great and Melek was especially attentive with our table and made our experience very pleasing.

I recently attended a private presentation in exchange for a comped meal at FDC. They put us in one of their private rooms which was a little tight, but a nice ambiance with good lighting and quieter space than the main dining room. The salad bar had great variety and fresh offerings which already filled my plate. Then workers came around with their "Best of Brazil" meat offerings. The spicy beef and pichana were my favorites, as some of the other options were overcooked and dry. Service was okay granted the large party size, as we received refills on drinks once and no plate refresh. We were all grateful for the dessert packaged to go, which was decadent and stayed well to eat the next day.

The FOOD: 4.5/5 | Drinks: 5/5 Off the appetizers, we had the pork belly bites and dirty fries! First dish came with a long hot pepper, several mini tortillas, and 2 dipping sauces. The pork was crunchy on the outside and soft+succulent on the inside. I can see myself doubling up on this appetizer the next time I come. Dirty fries were great; it came with a generous amount of pickled onions - providing a really nice contrast to the savoriness of our meal. I was shocked by how good the prices are since the oysters were $1.50 for their house seasurf select, and the poke nachos were $7. The amount of poke on the nachos was really generous for the price, and was delicious. You order at the counter, receive a number, and then they bring the food out to you. Outside of the happy hour menu, my boyfriend got the lobster roll which came with fries and a coleslaw (which was not the usual mayo-based coleslaw, it was a lot better in our opinion). The lobster tasted great, too.

The cioppino is great with a lot of seafood in it, even has pasta in it but you would have to mix the pasta with the cioppino otherwise it has no flavor at all. Our only complaint is the uni oyster. We ordered it since it stated Santa Barbara Uni (imo the Santa Barbara and San Diego Uni are the best in the states). However, as you can see the the picture, the uni was sitting/soaking in the oyster juice that took out the sweetness of the uni and instead filled it with the salty seawater flavor. I hope they tried it themselves and find a way to solve this. Otherwise will not order this appetizer, it is $20 for 2 uni oysters, which is totally not worth it.

Staff member Manny recommended this dish to me. Oh my Lord,…read moredid the food taste WONDERFUL! He was RIGHT! The mahi mahi had a really nice flavor to it, but WASN'T fishy. The salad & especially the dressing was wonderful! The rice had a great flavor unlike any rice I've had at any other place. The tzaziki sauce with my plate was SO smooth, creamy, and not overbearing, so it made a nice little dip for the fish. (AND the cucumbers in the salad. AND the tomatoes in the salad!) My veggies were grilled and tasted VERY good. My friend ordered an app of French fries, and they were EXCELLENT! Tasty, crispy, not chewy at ALL. Bite into one, "CRUNCH!" and you have what they feel like. Dip 'em in ketchup, or tzaziki, or GARLIC SAUCE, or not at all! I ate a lot of them. I also tried my friend's garlic sauce. I am SO going to have to order some of that to go because it can go with ANYTHING! Pita brea, fish, French fries, wraps (yum!), chicken, shrimp, lobster, beef, lamb, it's too creamy and yummy! Not too garlic-y either! I took her little container home and I'm ashamed to say I got the last little bit of it with my fingers. It'd make a REALLY nice dip for raw veggies as well. I WILL be back with some friends and a family member or two.

I ordered the fish and chips (to go order) -- 3 pieces served with seasoned fries and coleslaw. The fish was good, but the fries had great seasoning was my favorite. We didn't get tartar sauce which is what I like but instead got malted vinegar. Solid portion size and a good spot if you're craving fish and chips. There is also outdoor dining which is nice on a great day!!! My only complaint....fries should be in a bag not in the box. It got soggy when I got home!! Booo. Otherwise, over all yummy so come here to support local entrepreneur!!!

I have to say that tang bar is probably the best one in California that I've had! There is so much to choose from the self-serve bar where you can help yourself to vegetables, seafood, and meat! I was so excited and overwhelmed in the best way when I saw the variety and selection that was provided. After grabbing your bowl of food items, you will bring it to the cashier where they will weigh it, and cook the food in the broth that you like! I got the spiciest flavor - and I have a huge tolerance for spice. I thought it was so nice that they allowed me to ask for it to be spicier because it is what I truly enjoy! A lot of other places will usually say that it is a set recipe. So I did appreciate this a lot. My friends have a lower tolerance for Spice and got the just a kick broth flavor - they thought it was a good balance as well! They have a variety of broths to choose from, and you can even have them do a dry mix as well! After paying and grabbing your food, you're able to help yourself to the unlimited sauce bar - their Sesame sauce paired with chili and garlic is a huge recommendation! I will definitely be back again.

Tang Bar - Brea I'd…read moregive this place 3 stars. The concept is interesting. It's a mix of cafeteria-style dining and hot pot, which is still fairly unique in America. You grab your own ingredients, build a bowl, and hand it over for cooking. The challenge is the pricing. Since you're selecting ingredients before they're weighed and charged, it's hard to know what you're spending until the end. The cost adds up quickly, and the final bill can be surprising. As for the food, it's alright. The broth does most of the heavy lifting. The ingredients themselves are fresh enough, but the flavor largely comes from the soup base they add at the end. The experience is simple and efficient--almost like an assembly line. Everything is self-service, and there isn't much interaction beyond the ordering process. I appreciate the concept and understand why it's popular. The customization is fun, and the hot bowl is satisfying on a cold day. But when I compare it to the price, I see it as only a small step above food court dining. Not bad. Not amazing. Just okay.

The food was good, the staff were nice and it was a pretty chill vibe. Though a bit pricey, it was OK. We use their coupons in the app. In the most recent visit. My fish was burnt for one of the fried plates, and the usual poke bowl we order looked laughable. The manager tried to tell me that this is standard when I asked her nicely why my poke bowl was like this. But I've ordered this bowl multiple times; I know what it supposed to be like. It barely had any tuna in it and there was maybe a splash of the poke sauce. What was most upsetting is that I could see one of the chefs in the back looking over and laughing. A younger white lady that was handling the bowls and the frying; she wasn't on the grill. When we come to a restaurant, we are entrusting our health and wellbeing to these chefs and the cleanliness of the establishment. We spend hard earned money to feed ourselves and our families and it is why you are employed laughing chef! That was kind of the last straw for me. When I saw the chef laugh and smirk, I nicely asked for a refund and took my family somewhere else. The manager proceeded to give me a refund. I don't know if I'll ever return here.

We decided to give it a shot because the menus and pics I was seeing on Yelp looked good. I feel deceived y'all!!! This spot was hyped up as another "Tempo" and I was hoping for a less loud, club-like vibe with good food and drinks. Apparently, they changed owners AGAIN just a few months ago. All of the legit Mexican items- gone! I was really bummed because Orange County really doesn't need yet another mediocre attempt at a vibey sushi spot that serves WARM FISH. * The bartender was great! I honestly felt horrible for the staff. They open at 3:00, and I came in at 4:00 to a literal graveyard. I really hope the guys who waited on us get out fast before this place goes down. I know their tips are probably not even $20/a day. * The sushi items were all warm. I got nauseous within the hour after consuming them. * By 5:00 only one other table had arrived and they were also shocked at the massive disappointment so they spent their time waiting for cocktails, on their phones trying to make arrangements to go to another restaurant. So within two hours, they had two tables. * Yelp is deceiving- their reviews are mostly for the old place. Their menu is a disaster right now. There's limited sushi, brisket sandwich, wings, and other weird hodgepodge selections of oddities. The interior is almost exactly the same as Taps. They kept all of the furniture and decor. Maybe this should be a tear down and star over. It's really sad because we could use an old school Mexican restaurant with mariachi's and Sunday champagne buffet brunch. Just look at how El Torito Grill in Brea kills it on Sundays. Taps used to kill it on Sundays too. Where are the smart investors?! Come save this spot!
