This is limiting for large parties and can impair your conversation hence why I give it a 4.5 out of 5. You order electronically on their iPad which they have sitting along every other seat. Staff is more than happy to help you with any other inquiries. They have a three hand rolls for $19 special and five handles for $39. Initially, thinking that this might be a small, I walked out very full after. An easy choice for hand rolls is the Salmon. They give it a generous amount and I clearly enjoyed it so much that I did not give you a picture. I had the scallop hand roll, which was very yummy. The sauce that the scallops are tossed is light and not overpowering at all. My favorite was the Unagi hand roll because they see it right in front of you. With the crunch of this seaweed and Unagi it's better than having Unagi Maki. The spicy yellowtail was given as a compliment and honestly, I was so grateful to have it. After having that dipped into yuzu soy sauce youd be amazed how satisfied you feel. For three people with no alcohol and only hand rolls it came out to about $75. read more

I've been on the hunt for restaurants with a good Happy Hour, so I was excited to stumble upon Origami's $5 Mini Appetizers menu. It's a great way to sample a variety of dishes without spending a fortune. The Happy Hour menu includes items like fried squid legs, crispy rice with tuna or salmon, spicy edamame, chicken karaage, and chicken skewers. My favorite was definitely the crispy rice with salmon. Most places only offer it with tuna, so it was nice to see a salmon option for a change. Everything we tried was tasty, although the portions really do live up to the "mini" name. Still definitely my go-to spot for handrolls and donburi bowls during my work lunch break. A bit sad that they no longer have the tuna donburi bowl so I opted for the Chirashi bowl, which is as delicious! Good amount of fish and it's pretty fresh too, definitely good quality sashimi. On top of that, the staff are really nice and friendly. They really try their best to give customers a good experience dining here. We all ordered the 5 pc hand roll each. It's deceptively filling so watch out... i got scallops, tuna, salmon, unagi, and yellowtail. All of them were so good! My favorite being the yellowtail and tuna. You get to choose one sauce and I chose the yuzu one which was refreshing and a nice citrusy bite. Came here on a friend date with a friend i meet online. We also got crispy tuna rice (a must if it's on the menu), cucumber salad (another must), and then for skewers we got the wagyu, bacon wrapped enoki mushroom and beef tongue. The rolls were all good, i have to say the premium scallop one was the best one. It was so buttery and not overwhelming at all. The Wagyu was rich and not super fatty like some skewers I've had and the beef tongue was good with the lime, salt and pepper. I will say it was a little more tough but i find that's just how thicker cut beef tongue is. They have tablets for you to order but ours wasn't working so the server took the orders, i think it was a normal wait time for food. Not overly slow or fast. We sat at the bar so they just handed us our HR as they were making them. The location is a bit small so i can see there being long waits if you're not an early crew like my friend and i were. The music is also a little loud, but we were right under the speaker so that might be why. This place is amazing! We had to wait half an hour to be seated since the place is pretty small. They have a few tables and bar seating. But it was worth the wait. The sushi is so good and the seaweed wrap was crispy. If you like good quality fish, definitely check this place out. They even have some vegan and vegetarian hand rolls. For dessert we got the tempura Oreo cookies, that were a big hit, especially with the kids. It also came with Hokkaido ice cream that's made with real ingredients from Hokkaido, Japan. If I had to give an exact rating, I'd say this place is more of a 3.5-star experience but I decided to round up to 4 stars, and here's why: I came on a Sunday with a friend to celebrate her birthday. We arrived right at opening, around 11:30 AM. We were the only guests at the time and were seated quickly, which was nice; however, the server kept returning to our table to check if we were ready to order, even after we said we needed a few more minutes several times. It felt a bit rushed, especially since the place was still empty and my friend and I were slowly catching up before wanting to order our food. That definitely took away from the relaxed vibe that I was hoping for. Although we weren't ready to order the food, we did order their specialty KPOP Soju Cocktails, which the server said were a new offering. They were tasty, but very light on the soju -- almost like a fruity juice with a splash of alcohol. At $8 each, I was expecting a bit more of a kick. I didn't bring it up at the time since we were celebrating my friend's birthday and I didn't want to set a negative tone, but it was definitely a bit of a letdown. For food, we ordered the handroll combo, which lets you choose 5 handrolls which also comes with a cucumber salad, miso soup, and green tea. It was definitely a good deal and would order it in a heartbeat. The handrolls were solid and satisfying, with a good rice-to-fish ratio. My favorites were the spicy tuna, spicy salmon, and spicy scallop. Personally, anything spicy is a win for me and felt the fish and scallops were very fresh. We also tried a few yakitori skewers (chicken meatballs, pork belly, and beef) to fill out the meal. The chicken meatballs were overly salty, and while they came with an optional sweet teriyaki-style dipping sauce, I wasn't a fan of that either -- though I will say, the presentation was nice. The beef and pork belly were a much better option, but the portions were small and not quite worth the price, in my opinion. If I had the choice again, I'd skip the yakitori and get an extra handroll or two instead. My friend mentioned she usually comes here with her husband and really enjoys their premium rolls, but I decided to save that for another visit. Although, I wish I had the chance to try them this time around. All in all, this place really shines with its handrolls as that is clearly their specialty. The drinks and yakitori were okay, but not memorable. If you decide to visit, I'd recommend sticking to the handrolls and handrolls only. I was intrigued by this place because it actually had some vegan options that were not simple cucumber or avocado rolls. I also ordered the grilled okra. When I asked, the lady went to the kitchen and checked the label on the sauce to ensure it's vegan. I appreciated the extra step. Salmon chirashi donburi - 2/5, the quality of the salmon was below average for me. I thought the amount of salmon vs how much the donburi cost was not very good value. Made reservations and was seated right away once I arrived. The restaurant is not too big. There is one big U shape bar and maybe 2 tables. I ordered the following to share between 2: Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice Bluefin Tuna Tasting w/Truffle Ponzu Pate & Kizami - Sashimi A5 Wagyu As for my handrolls, I ordered Uni Ikura Toro HR and Spicy Yellowtail HR. Everything was delicious. Flavors were wonderful and sashimi melted in my mouth. A5 Wagyu was so heavenly. I love the Uni Ikura Toro handroll. Everything meshed well together. Service was great and food came out quickly. Can't wait to go back. read more

I like the daily special they had with 5 hand rolls with a green tea for $29. The quality was good I especially enjoy the bay scallops. But the salmon skin wasn't the best for me. It felt like that ther was a bunch of flakes vs one long piece of the skin. The service was great and attentive. The price was great. The quality was good too. Parking is free.
