Pao de Queijo - Cheese Bread (12 ea.)
    Brittany V.

We visited Fogo de Chão expecting the advertised $49 all-you-can-eat special, only to learn it's not available at California locations. Instead, we paid about $80 per adult. The restaurant is beautiful, spacious, and we were seated immediately. However, the service was disappointing. I asked multiple times for the queijo com mel and was repeatedly told it would be out soon, but it didn't arrive until we were already full and ready to leave. My kids also had a hard time getting more than a piece or two of grilled pineapple at a time. The salad bar was just okay, and the meat selection felt limited compared to other Brazilian steakhouses. I missed seafood options like grilled shrimp, and my husband was disappointed there were no chicken hearts. For the price, we expected much more. We prefer Galpão Gaúcho in Walnut Creek, which offers better service, more variety, and a better overall experience.

The happy hour at Fogo is severely underrated. A $10 picanha burger w/ polenta fries?! Say no more. The ambiance is great. It's not overly loud and a solid spot to catch a game. I have had excellent service on both of my recent visits here. John does a fantastic job at the bar on the cocktails and goes above and beyond. The $16 Dino rib is another favorite from the bar menu. This is becoming one of my regular spots given the great value and proximity to the theatre.

The all day happy hour was a hit. It was a chilly day but we scored a table on Saturday for dinner. The waitress took a while to arrive, but when she did, she was the best. We got the beef ribs, yucca fries, spicy chicken sliders, and lobster cabbage tacos. The medium rib and sliced meat were amazing in taste and portion size. The warm Brazilian bread made me happy. The sliders were unforgettable, unfortunately. But we enjoyed the seafood tacos with sauce on the side. The hot yucca fries with Parmesan were good with the slightly tangy sauce. We also got a 90 calorie passion spritzer that was not bad. And we had leftovers! Would come back

been to here multiple times for the churrasco experience, best of brazil, and all day happy hour. all were great but nothing beats the best of brazil. for $50-$60 you get access to the market table while having a selection of meats to try. i recently just tried their happy hour and will definitely be back for it. although you dont get the fogo experience i think the happy hour is well worth it for $6 a dish, $10 cocktails, and $8 for beer/wine.

I think this is the longest time we stayed in a restaurant because of our long wait time to be served the meat :-( Food is good, they have good sides and the place is clean but I just don't feel like it's worth the money we spent bec we did not have our fill... been to several churascaria places & specifically Fogo de Chao in SF, but this one is different

Came here with a few coworkers who were in town for a team offsite. They were craving steak, and since there weren't many options near our hotel, we decided to check this place out. We weren't quite hungry enough to do AYCE, so we ordered à la carte instead. We went with the lobster and shrimp tower appetizer, dry-aged tomahawk, lobster mac and cheese, and yuca fries. Surprisingly, the lobster mac and cheese completely stole the show--it was the standout dish of the night. The tomahawk was good and cooked perfectly, with great quality meat. I just wish it was seasoned a bit more. They do provide salt and chimichurri sauce, but it still felt like it was missing that extra something flavor-wise. And don't skip the complimentary cheese bread! It comes out warm and is absolutely delicious. Definitely ask for butter--we couldn't stop eating these, lol. Overall, it was a nice meal, plenty of food, and we even had leftovers. If you're really hungry, I'd recommend going for the full experience so you can enjoy the salad bar too.

My team from work came here for a team lunch and the service was amazing. Coming here on a weekday for lunch is definitely the move because they can focus on you and take good care of you. The area is pretty beautiful and spacious. The chairs are very comfortable and the decor is nice Our server was very nice and ensured we had water, and all the sides we wanted (cheesy bread, fries, fried bananas, garlic mashed potatoes and the cheese with honey) The garlic mashed potatoes were very delicious and complemented the meats very well. Disclaimer: You have to ask for specialty cuts like lamb chops, lamb picanha, or bone in ribeye but they make it very fast and well for you. The cuts were very savory, especially the beef picanha and the lamb picanha. The lamb chops were the best cut and they were so flavorful and moderately fatty. They definitely picked the best cuts of meat for the menu. Their market side table is really good. Tbh, you could come here just for their market side. It's only 20 dollars and you get a whole assortment of things. I did not get a lot from there since I wanted to get as many cuts of meat as possible but their candied bacon and smoked salmon were amazing!! Definitely two must haves!!! I would say if you're someone that is epicurious like me, you should definitely come here and try out all the different cuts of meat. You leave here feeling super full!

Had a group brunch there today. The restaurant is clean and not crowded, salad bar is constantly refreshed, a little sad that near the end of our meal they ran out of dragon fruit and pineapples! I was waiting until the end of the meal to get some . Service for the meat was on the slow side, sirlons and prime ribs were good but the filet mignon was leathery and dry.

Nice ambiance and tasty food, but management needs to do better with front of house training. We came in as a party of six and our reservation was at 6:30 and we arrived at 6:17 last night (4/25/26). Right when we walked in, the hostess gave my wife an odd look. After we mentioned our reservation time, we all had the feeling like she was very unpleasant or unhappy with her job the way she said the table was not ready yet and they were still preparing it. We get it, it was busy and a hectic saturday night. We didnt think much of it and was more focus on my father in law trying to maneuver around with a walker. Once seated, our server seemed new but was at least polite. However, plates kept piling up. We tried to flag him down three times and he said he would come back but never cleared them. We got water refills about three times over the two hours we were there, which was fine, but the bigger issue was space. We ordered bottles of wine, cocktails, and dessert, so we were there for a while, but the table was never managed properly. When the seafood tower and bone marrow came out, we really had no room left. We asked one of the guys who were cleaning up the table next to us if we could place dishes on the empty table there for now and he said yes, so we moved a couple plates. Then the same hostess came over and approached my wife in an aggressive tone, saying, "If you want us to take the plates, just let us know because we have to get this table ready for the next guests!," while shaking her head, rolling her eyes and reluctantly removing the plates. The energy felt like being talked down to like a strict teacher talking to a kid. I understand they need to turn tables and keep things moving, but the way it was handled came off a little rude and unnecessary. At the time my wife decided to let it go, but after we talked about it, it definitely affected the experience. Throughout the night it was a little noticeable she kept coming by to check if we were done, which made us feel rushed and unwelcome. Anyhow, that is not how a hostess or front face of the restaurant should speak to customers lol

Always great place to get your craving a steak fix! Lol You control the flow of incoming food! Live the cheese bread! The also serve polenta stick and mashed potato and fried bananas! We had the our favorite the filet served twice! We also link the lamb chops and lamb picana ! I have been to many other locations and this is one of my favorites ! I will continue to dine at this chain of fine steak offerings!

We had a reservation to celebrate a birthday, and this was our first time trying Fogo de Chao at the East Bay location. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a disappointing experience when compared to the Fogo in SF. Check-in was quick, but once we were seated, we ordered drinks from our server, and they never arrived. The food was overly salty, and the chefs were slow with the tableside carvings. At certain points, we didn't see any staff serving meat at all. The Market Table was decent and offered a wide selection of seasonal salads, fresh veggies, cured meats, and other dishes. Aside from that, our server never checked in with us, and we didn't see her again for the rest of the evening. When it was time to request the bill, we waited 40 minutes, and no one came. Eventually, we had to walk to the reception desk at the front and ask the staff there to bring our check. It's unbelievable to want to pay and have absolutely no one assisting you.

Parking is a bit difficult but we managed to find street parking a block away. Wasn't too crowded and there was plenty of seating inside. You order first and you find a table to sit, and they bring out the food to you. Self serve water is available. The food came out pretty quick! Thoughts: - Lobster roll (classic) was delicious! Generous amount of lobster. Would definitely get this again. Chips weren't too great though. - Fried shrimp basket was nice. Shrimp was crispy and tasty. Fries were also very crispy and flavorful. The sauces go well with the shrimp/fries. Coleslaw isn't the best though. - The crab nachos were surprisingly good. A nice cheese sauce combo with pico/avocado crema and a good amount of crab. - Garlic noodles were fine, nothing standout about them. - Mix and match basket with catfish, cod, and calamari (not pictured): Catfish was solid (would highly recommend, one of the favorites of the meal!), but would pass on the cod and calamari - a bit dry/fishy. Would recommend for a casual spot for seafood and a nice view!

Anyone remember the Jack London Village that they tore down to build this end of the development? Anyways - this is a fast casual type spot, where you order from the counter, place the little number sign on your table and wait for it to be delivered. The menu is your standard seafood joint by the water type, with all the usual suspects represented. Fried fish, shrimp, chowder, seafood pastas--if you've ever been to a seaside seafood joint, chances are good that the menu here is exactly like the one you remember seeing at the countless other places like this one. I noticed right off the bat that their pricing structure was on the high side - with a $17 burger and fries option, with the bulk of the fried seafood options in the $22-25 range. A cheaper choice might be the $16 fish tacos (two of them) but I kind of draw the line at paying $8 for a single taco. Our table ordered a few of the fried options plus a few soda beverages. The food arrived in a reasonable amount of time, and I noticed that the silver metal trays that the food comes on is a bit on the small side, especially considering the prices for each dish. The fried shrimp dish was a big scoop of mega-salty french fries, and 3 average sized deep fried shrimp. Yes - 3 as in 1, 2, 3. That's what - $7+ a shrimp? The two fried fish platters weren't much better portion-wise. My deep fried cod consisted of three modest sized fish-fingers, and not the single luscious chunk of perfectly fried cod I had imagined in my head when ordering. They were fine - but very average and nothing that stood out as life-changing or something to write home about. As mentioned earlier, they must be employing the Little Rascals method where they over salt everything, in hopes that you'll order another beverage to wash down the copious mounts of sodium (I figure about 4+ days worth). The fried catfish platter that rounded out our order was more of the same - thin meager portions of fish on a large bed of mega-salted fries. Small plastic containers of generic pre-made tartar sauce and coleslaw can with each platter. The coleslaw was fine - just very forgettable and perhaps a tad on the flavorless/watery side. All said, was it okay? Yes. Was it anything outstanding that I'd crave and plan my return to have again? No. It is in line with touristy by-the-Sea seafood places that charge an extra couple of bucks because they're "on the water"? Pretty much. You're paying for the view and the 'scene' of sitting on the patio out front to people watch, and not for the food. I kind of hate these places and normally try my best to stay away from them, but every once in awhile, you gotta put on your tourist hat and join the mindless flock. A meager 2 stars outta 5 from me. Instead, I'd stroll around this area on a Sunday when they hold the farmer's market (again - is not what it used to be) and then drive through the tube to Alameda where great dining spots are numerous on Park Street. You can stop at Crab Cove and Crown Beach on the way, for more touristy sightseeing.

My partner would give the food a five-start rating for its simplicity, generally flavorful, with spicy sauces and THE BEST guacamole! He had the Korean spare ribs and mash potatoes. He found the ribs to be fall-off-the bone tender, with potatoes that were more whipped than mashed alongside a carrot puree. I, on the other hand, had the New York Steak and au gratin potatoes. Though I wanted to enjoy my entree, I found the New York Steak to be unfortunately chewy and with too much fat. The au gratin potatoes could have had more crispy layers but tasted mediocre. Though I'd only rate this first experience with three stars. the service staff DID win us over and could potentially be the reason I'd be open to giving it another try.

When we walked in, we were greeted with an awkward look, which immediately made the experience feel a little uncomfortable. We were seated with menus and waited about 10 minutes without anyone coming by to take a drink order. I completely understand that staff may be busy attending other guests, so I tried to be patient. Since it felt a little stuffy inside, I kindly asked if we could sit outside, and they said yes. After moving outside, we waited another 10+ minutes and still no one checked in on us. Meanwhile, I could hear servers laughing and chatting nearby while we continued to be overlooked, so we ultimately decided to leave. I was genuinely excited to try this place, so the experience was disappointing.

I really like how they let you build your seafood experience exactly how you want it, from the type of seafood to the seasoning and spice level. The only thing was I think the spice level could've been kicked up a notch. Our table ordered a mix of oysters, garlic noodles, Cajun fries, shrimp, crawfish, mussels, which came with corn, potatoes, sausage and hard boiled egg! The seafood was fresh and the sauce coated everything nicely without being overwhelmingly salty, and the corn and potatoes soaked up all the seasoning. All for a very reasonable price if you get the combo, which comes in 3 different tiers! The oysters were a standout--fresh, briny & I loved all the different sauces like horse radish and cocktail on the side. I do wish the fries were a bit more crispy and could've gone heavier with the Cajun seasoning, but that's personal preference. The atmosphere is casual, lively, and perfect for big groups. If you're looking for a customizable seafood boil with fresh oysters, fun drinks, and plenty of options to build your ideal meal, Rockin Crawfish is definitely worth a visit

Based on that conversation, I expected fresh live crawfish, which was available Tuesday when I ordered from DoorDash the previous time. After I got home and opened my order this time. it was clear that the crawfish had been frozen. If the restaurant serves frozen crawfish, that's fine, but customers should be given accurate information when they ask directly about the product right? I feel misled because I relied on what I was told when making my purchase. Transparency is important, and I hope the restaurant does a better job communicating with customers about whether their crawfish are live or previously frozen. VERY DISHONEST BUSINESS SMH.

No one greeted us. Wasn't sure where to go. Went to the register. Waited a minute for someone to come out. Ordered the clam chowder, dozen oysters and fish & chips with a glass of mystery orange wine. Decided to sit outside in the back patio. Table was dirty from previous guest which usually doesn't bother me be ut little things started adding up. Service took a while. Oysters came out first. 20 min. They were fresh and delicious. Just enough to get the palette opened up. $46 though? Way overpriced but was willing to overlook since it is Mother's Day. Next up - clam chowder, 10 min after they took the tray for the oysters. Smallest bowl I ever saw. Flavor was good. Temperature was luke warm. Broth was thin. $10. Not worth it. Last was the fish and chips. 10 min after picking up the chowder bowl. Portion looked good enough to make up for the small clam chowder, except it was under seasoned. Fish texture was a bit dry too. Fries were meh. Between the overall vibe...the overpriced items...the time between dishes...and the lack of flavor, I will continue my search for an oyster spot in this neighborhood.

Both were fantastic. Ambiance: 3/5 - ambiance is just okay. It's right on the water so a nice view from the outdoor seating but nothing particularly outstanding about the restaurant itself in terms of decor or architecture. Service: 1.5/5 - huge miss. For the prices on this menu, I would expect service to be a lot better. We waited in line to be sat (no waiting list, just an old school line) and it took only 10 minutes or so to be sat but it was very bizarre, we were a party of 2 ready to be sat & she took the couple behind us and sat them first. No particular reasoning given. The host seemed to really not care about much. From there, service was odd. Our server didn't introduce herself and just asked us what we wanted. Again, not a necessity but you would think for somewhere you're paying $30+ per plate, service would be a bit better. An oyster holder was delivered to our table after we had already finished oysters. Glass was broken near our table and hastily swept up. Bussers were dropping silverware right next to our table. Again, just wasn't great ambiance or service. The food is good but there are other good restaurants in San Francisco. I would really only come here again with low service expectations.

You'll never go broke overestimating the bad press the City of Oakland gets both locally and…read morenationally. Yes, crime is up, homelessness is out of control, the A's, Warriors and Raiders left. At some point you have to worry about the elephants at the Oakland Zoo moving to Las Vegas. Enough. Let's talk about an independent Oakland institution that hopefully isn't going anywhere. Scott's Seafood in Jack London Square, celebrating their 50th anniversary. . Yes, Oakland is the home of the Black Panthers and the Hells Angels but it's still a city where business is done everyday: Oakland is still the home of major Fortune 500 companies like Clorox, and the University of California makes its headquarters here. Plenty of high-tech companies too like Pandora call Oakland home. And the Port of Oakland ain't going anywhere. So you need a place fora business lunch: That's Scott's. When you walk in, it's all business. Private booths, crisp linen tablecloths, and great views of the Alameda Estuary and the giant container ships. Great spot to watch the sunset too. Just the kind of deal making place you'd find Willie Brown, or Jerry Brown, or Tim Brown for that matter. Servers dress in button down shirts and ties. No nose rings or purple haired servers here. They know their business, and their menus, and their wines. Of course Scott's isn't only for the business crowd. It's a place to go to celebrate milestones. Anniversaries, birthdays, graduations, etc. My wife and I came to Scott's for her birthday on a Tuesday night: Even on a relatively slow night, Scott's still had a piano happy hour (our pianist actually played with The Temptations) I started off with clam chowder, which was excellent, piping hot and served with plenty of warm Boudin sourdough from San Francisco. (Sadly no more Colombo in Oakland anymore, another town favorite gone). My wife ordered the oysters which our server (a longtime vet of 11 years) suggested splitting a dozen both raw and Rockefeller, which came meaty and cheesy with plenty of creamed spinach: it was a great choice. Be warned slurping your oyster with Scott's homemade horseradish is like taking a fastball from Dave Stewart; the Oakland native and Athletics pitching ace, upside the head. I ordered the cioppino which came steaming hot with toasted crostini and cracked Dungeness crab. . Fantastic. I've had cioppino lots of places but as Johnny Cash famously said while playing A Boy Named Sue across the Bay at San Quentin "I've fought tougher men, but I really can't remember when." I might have had better cioppino than Scott's but I can't remember when either. My wife got the petit filet mignon and lobster tail. I'll order the filet next time, Buttery and perfectly cooked. We topped it with white chocolate cheesecake and an on the house raspberry sorbet. Wasn't a cheap birthday dinner but like head coach John Madden of the Oakland Raiders famously said "when you played the Raiders, you knew you'd been in a game." When I get my credit card statement it'll be a hefty charge but it'll remind me of how good a meal I had. Did I mention brunch is back at Scott'? OK. Now I did. Here's to another 50 years for Scott's. Thanks for reppin' The Town.

It came out unusually dark and the batter was hard as a rock on the first bite. I asked if that's their style and was told it can vary, and they kindly re-fired it. The re-fire looked better, but it still wasn't for me - the crust remained hard on the teeth and the white meat was dry. - Side: Octopus Kimchi - I thought the kimchi would be a nice acidic contrast to the fried chicken but it was an incredibly sour, salt bomb. - Mashed Potatoes ($6) - Decent, creamy and smooth. - Biscuit ($6) - While small, the warmed biscuit was lightly crisp on the outside with a soft, tender interior and a buttery, slightly tangy flavor. * Fish & Chips: Ling cod, piquillo pepper aioli ($25): https://tinyurl.com/bdftrdc6 Redeeming the fried chicken, the fish was light and flaky with an airy, crispy batter.
