I was disappointed twice at their Addison location where I had a girl's day with my daughters. And at the plano location where we had a family dinner with 6 people. In both experiences waiters were not around to refill waters. They left us there waiting for a check for 20 min once and 30 at the other. The gauchos come to offer everything at once. Then, they just don't come back. There are definitely better dining experiences for about the same price. If you go to spend $50-60 per person, just know that you will not receive the service that the price merits. read more

What an amazing birthday gift. My girlfriend and I went here a few weeks ago, and it happened to be during restaurant week, so the normally $50 plate was only $35. The salad bar was great, but like other people have said, don't fill up on it. Personally I tried the jumbo asparagus and fancy cheeses to my liking. We ordered their caipirinha, which is a cocktail made from sugane spirit, simple syrup and lime. It was sweet yet dry, similar to a margarita but much better. The meats. Oh man, the meats. As soon as you flip that disc to green, get ready. Servers immediately swarmed us, offering us cuts of meat with our choice of medium (which my gf prefers) and medium rare (which I prefer). My favorites include the Alcatra top sirloin, the Fraldinha bottom sirloin, and lombo pork loin covered in parmesan. The filet mignon was unbelievably sub-par commpared to these. I would stay away from the chicken and sausage meats. While they are delicious enough, you can find a good sausage or chicken leg anywhere, and you came here from the cow, didn't you? For desert I had the papaya cream and my gf had the strawberry cream. Both are great but the strawberry was better. In all, a fanstastic dinner and a great place to dine. 5 stars! read more

Went to Fogo de Chao for a corporate lunch event with 25 people. The reservation process worked well and we got a long table for everybody which was great. This is a perfect place for big parties as the brazilian serving style is very efficient. We started by ordering some drinks but the service was so so as drinks were not given to the right person and some got missed. Salad bar is awesome with lots of selections. Even the vegetarians complemented the salad bar for its quality and variety. The meat selection is great! Lots of different meats to choose from and everybody were happy afterwards. The ribeye is awesome and for the guys preferring lamb their plates were full with bones. Everybody were happy with the meats! Desserts were great but almost too big after such a meal. They are big enough for two people. The creme brulee was delicious as well as the tres leches. Though everything was great and my ranking if the local Churrascarias are as follows: - Fogo de chao - Estilo Gaucho - Rafains I would say that Estilo Gaucho is very close to Fogo de chao and it needs a thorough comparison to see if the ranking still stands with Fogo in the lead. The reason for 4 vs 5 stars is that i believe there is still some opportunity for improvement for a lunch in the 60-70 dollar range (everything included). read more

I took my wife there for our anniversary dinner. I rate the food 4 or 4.5 stars. I rate the experience (for an intimate and nice dinner) 1 star. It was very loud and not intimate in the least. Service was a mixed impression: we felt rushed. Our waitress seemed in a hurry to process us through. That was very off-putting. She expected our drink order immediately after being seated. The food service was a nice salad bar and guys, very efficiently, delivering meats like rapid fire. Back To the food: the salad bar was classy. Very fresh and an excellent selection. The meats were very tasty. Unfortunately, since there was no rhyme or reason behind the rapid fire delivery, we only managed to sample 25% of what is typically offered. We never saw a menu and had no idea what the possible meat selections would be... I tipped a paltry 10% and felt that was too much. We had to ask for a dessert menu and our waitress was much more interested in us ordering another cocktail than what we wanted to sample for dessert. Dress is listed as casual business... But they will take you dressed as a homeless person. A baby crying at the next table did nothing to help the ambience. IF we return I will be exercising much more control over the pace.... IF.... The food in this restaurant is good but not that amazing. What made the rating lose a star is that it the picana was burnt around the edges a lot that it took away the flavor from the meat itself. What was amazing from this restaurant was the lamb chops and leg(I think it was leg). Those two were my favorites from the whole experience. The service was good and very attentive to your needs. The harvest table was good but I was not a fan of the soup they were serving which was carrot ginger soup if I recall correctly. That soup was appetizing at all. This is NOT your standard Churruscaria Brazilian Steak joint. It is the original Churruscaria in Dallas and the standard that all the others have not met yet. 10 different meats. Don't let them load you up with sausage, pork etc. Go straight to the good stuff: Filet and the house special Picana. The cheese rolls are awesome and the salad bar is tops: hearts of palm, mozzarella, beef tomatoes, and a huge Parmesean to take scoops from. On Saturday my boyfriend and I went to celebrate our one year Anniversary. We had a great time, food was delicious and meats were perfect, but what made our experience even better was a server name TINA that even though she wasnt our main server she made sure we had a great time, and even got our meat request twice. Not up to the standards of the Fogo De Chao chain. Having dined in the uptown location, the Addison location leaves a lot to be desired. The restaurant is crammed with tables that are very close to each other resulting in a loud and uncomfortable environment. Our server was unattentive and unprofessional, for some reason he disappeared half way into the dinner and was replaced by a different server. It took at least 15 minutes for our cocktails to arrive. I requested a specific cut of meat and it also took at least 20 minutes. As for the food itself, apparently medium means raw to these gauchos. Having been to Brazil and eating at the uptown location, I know how the meat should taste. Apparently corporate is not doing it's job of making sure diners have a consistent experience at this location as they do in others. Ate here for the first time a few weeks ago while staying with a friend in the area, and WOW!!! 1) Complimentary valet parking makes getting inside super easy. 2) The restaurant itself looks and smells beautiful: hosts are very friendly. 3) Waiters are top-notch and great about explaining everything. 4) Salad bar is FULL of amazing items, especially delicious smoked salmon. 5) The serving style is great! Red/green disc and gaucho servers with giant, fresh skewers. 6) Awesome table-side accessories: fried bananas, mashed potatoes, etc. are great! 7) Reasonably priced for what you get! $32.50 for lunch or $49.50 for dinner (or $19.50 and $24.50 for salad bar only.) This was my second visit here. First time occurred 3 or 4 years ago. I think the key is to focus on variety and not quantity. You are paying a premium on great service and for the ability to try a number of great meats. My favorite was the filet and the ribeye. The lamb wasn't far behind. I didn't try any of the sausage or chicken. You come here for meats, so all I got from the salad bar were olives, onions (grilled and sweetened), and endives (my fav!). The service definitely shines here. I've have less service at many other high-end restaurants. I considered becoming a vegetarian after eating here. Seriously, they put that much red meat in your face. I was so stuffed I thought the seems of my dress were going to come undone if I exhaled. Yet the meat kept coming and coming and coming until the woman sitting next to me realized the food coma I was going through and flipped my coaster to red. I was a first time diner and didn't understand the rules of coaster flipping so I'll share with you guys. Green is go for more meat and red is of course I'm going to vomit on you if you bring me another animal. From what I remember the quality of the meats served were exceptional, there were some dry ones but overall it's definitely worth the price to dine here. I'm with Persia A. that the rolls are AH MAZE ING! Maybe this is how I got full so quick. We also tried the fried polenta and it was delicious. The drinks here are incredibly strong so no complaints from me in that department. Our group of 60+ were served quickly by the waitstaff and the entire restaurant accommodated our group wonderfully. Fogo de Chao has always been a great place to conclude a semester of studies and exams. It became a "ritual" while I was in college, and I wanted to continue this tradition and share this experience with some of my peers in medical school. It was fun to see the excitement in their faces, as it reminded me of myself when I first visited Fogo in Atlanta. Food (9.5/10) = what can I say? If this place has been a "ritual," it must be good right? The winners for me have always been the rack of lamb, bacon-wrapped filet mignon, and the parmesan crusted pork. One thing I was introduced at this Fogo was the mint jelly, which was a nice complement to the lamb. The other winner is that damn-good cheesy bread, with its puffy squishy marshmallow like texture that can be experienced at the final half of a bite. Ever see those "NBA: where amazing happens" commercials? I think a short film can be made with just showing this puffy cloud of cheesy goodness in a basket, with Carly Commando's "Everyday" song in the background. "Fogo de Chao: Where amazing happens." Highlights from the salad bar were the white asparagus, artichokes, fresh mozzarrella, prosciutto, and fresh parmesan reggiano. Didn't have dessert this time. As I had mentioned in my review of Atlanta's Fogo, the desserts were great but not spectacular. One thing that surprised me was how the Dallas location did not have tiramisu on its menu. The tiramisu was the best in my opinion. Ambiance (7.5/10) = This Fogo felt more cramped compared to the Atlanta location. From the space in between tables to the set-up of the salad bar. But who the hell goes to Fogo caring about ambiance? The only beauty one should appreciate is the juicy glistening meat that stares at you, begging you to eat it, like a little kid begging his parents for a new pokemon for Christmas. Service (10/10) = The gauchos and our waitress was very attentive. How attentive? Well, when one member of our party first flipped his card to "green," 3-4 gauchos quickly surrounded him, overwhelming him with meat. It was like paparrazi all over some celebrity, only instead of cameras, it was meat. If there was a particular cut of meat that you liked, the Fogo staff was quick to satisfy your desires. Overall Opinion = If there was a Hell just for vegetarians when they pass away, this would be it. If you have never been to Fogo, you should try it at least once. I know it's silly to review a chain restaurant that is well known and popular like Fogo de Chao (that needs no introduction), but it's been a couple days since my last visit and I'm still dreaming of that picanha taste in my mouth! Fogo de Chao is seriously the best churrascaria steakhouse. Screw the salad bar (I don't really care for), it's all about the meat! They are seasoned to perfection with the most flawless texture and temperature. My favorite is the picanha and cordeiro. I really wish I could eat at Fogo de Chao every single day, except my poor belly can only handle so little meat at once! Love the cheese puff breads and the mashed potatoes also. Came here for Father's day and it was simply just an enjoyable visit. Nothing extraordinary in my honest opinion. This is my second time here and I guess I'm just used to the exceptional service that I've received in the past from here and from other comparable steakhouses. Even so, I'm constantly amazed at how ginormous the salad bar here is. Salads, various cheeses, meats and other little niblets are sprawled out in the center of the restaurant for you to enjoy as you please. I don't ever check it out since I'm there solely for meat, but I could tell that the quality was great even from my seat since they were constantly refreshing it. The service here on this particular day was just meh, I've had better at other steakhouses, but I guess for a busy day like Father's day it's understandable. It took some time to flag down our waitress whenever we needed something. The chimmichurri here isn't as tangy as I'd like, it could use a bit more acidity whether it be from limes or vinegar I don't really care. The meats were INSANELY salty. My favorite place on Earth. This location offers the best customer service in DFW hands down. The steaks are absolute perfection. Better than Texas de Brazil, Ruth Chris', amongst others. The tomahawk is my favorite cut. Irrevocably the best steak available to man, in hindsight I'm not sure there is a suitable competitor. Tender, yet crisp, but flowing with juices. My taste buds thank me every second of the day. Brought my girlfriend here for our anniversary on 8/22. The woman who greeted us was very friendly and recommended a good wine. However we were never provided a "flip card" to show we wanted meats. We did flag down a server and ask for them to send picanha over at one point but other than that we only had about 5 servers stop at our table and offer us meat during our whole time there. Oh how I love the over abundance of meat! I love getting the meat sweats! I enjoyed my meal very well, everything was served and cooked just right. Here is why we have 3 stars. The meats, while being good, lacked flavor. Also, most of the meats I tried had a huge pack of salt on the outside. Sometimes I would bite a salt crystal and it would be like sand in my mouth. After the meal I had a slight burning sensation in my mouth from salt. I love salt but this was very salty. It's a gastronomic safari that will not leave you disappointed. There is a good chance that if it had a face or a mother at some point, you'll find it on a skewer at Fogo. It's not just the variety (usually over 14 different cuts) of perfectly cooked beef, poultry, and pork that makes Fogo great, but the entire experience. An army of expert staff and servers cater to your every dining need in something that is a mix of table service and theater. Everything from their salad bar, to wine selection, to sides is 1st class. Fogo de Chao is a great place if you are a huge fan of bottomless meat plates. The salad bar is quiet extensive and possibly worth the $24.50 they charge. However, watch out for that $48.50 per person dinner charge! If you aren't all that hungry or can put away a couple pounds worth of steak, sausage and chicken, it's not much of a deal. Service and attentiveness is off the charts, but sometimes a bit too much. If you're not familiar with the serving structure, beware. There are little color coded coasters that indicate if you are ready for more meats. If you indicate that you are, BEWARE! They meat fairies will descend on you like flies! read more

I 've been coming to this location for over 12 years. I made reservation for 7 people over the holidays, they had a fire and was closed. They offer for us to go to the down town location but they didn't even mention that's it's a gas grill not charcoal. The meat has very little flavor and very bland, service was a bunch of young Kids standing around and mingle, I had to standup a few times to ask for service. This location is no where near the Addison location. However, due to my experience I probably won't be a return customer for a while. read more

We were there for two hours and only got asked if we wanted more meats three times, and even asked a manager for help and didn't receive it.
