I frequently come to this location and tonight was the best thus far. I had an amazing waiter by the name of Thomas who was nonstop attentive and always very sweet nice! We've dined at various Fogo de Chaos in several cities, and have always brought guests who have never had this experience. While in San Francisco, we decided to go there again, this time for a birthday celebration. We also signed up for the rewards program. The men carving up the meats were efficient and they came again and again, delighting our guests. Our favorites were the meats wrapped up in bacon. Very tasty. We also liked the abundance of choices at the salad bar although we wish there were more choices for folks who opt only for the salad bar. Maybe some ceviche? More cheeses? The black bean with pork soup was delicious. Our biggest concern: the very unattentive server who seemed to like gabbing with the other servers instead of checking on diners. More than once we had to ask another server to send our server back for water/soda refill. We told him one of us was celebrating a birthday, and not once did he offer a complimentary dessert for the celebrant. When we told him we're part of the rewards program, he didn't bother checking, and as such, we may have missed out on some points and/or discounts as promoted by the rewards program. After some amazing experiences at the Santana Row location, we decided to bring some visiting family to the SF location. Cant be that different right? Wrong. Incredibly disappointed. SALAD BAR Not fresh, no variety, very basic, unlike the exotic and rare fruits/vegetables we were able to try at the other location. No staff member came to refill when things were running out either. SERVICE some of us did the AYCE churrasco experience. We were seated at a long table in a dark area away from most other people, so the people with the meat rarely showed up, and when they did, only on one side of the table while the other half was ignored. For those who ordered dishes instead of ayce, those didn't show up until the rest of us were already full. OTHER FOOD ironically the highlight from the churrasco experience was the cheese and the pineapple, not the meat. Crispy yet melty, the cheese paired nicely with a drizzle of honey, while the pineapple covered with sugar then roasted lacked the rawness of raw pineapple, making it more enjoyable to eat. Meanwhile, the meats were hit or miss--though we did enjoy a few nice pieces, more often than not it was dry and overcooked. NOTE ON MENU Enhancing the churrasco experience with lobster was expensive and the lobster, though cooked well, was a small bite. It does include a nice (but super sweet) dessert though, so the choice is yours! We had a couple people do it so the desserts shared among us was perfect. With so many great restaurants in SF, this is not the one to impress visitors. And if you're just craving some Fogo de Chao, go to Santana Row for a better experience. read more

Never again. I'm really at a loss to think of a place who's fall from the heights they once were at to were they currently reside. Service is just flat out bad, the once awesome happy hour now feels like they're serving re-heated cafeteria food and it takes forever to arrive once you order. Their once upon delicious hot cheese bread, so flaky and soft now more accurately resembles dehydrated hockey pucks both in terms of apperance and taste. As soon as the corporate buyouts end from the conferences at Moscone across the street it's going to be lights out for this location unless major changes are made. Came here with 4 work friends (1 vegetarian) on a Monday night after a conference at Moscone. We had no reservation, and were seated promptly. I've never been to Fogo de Chao. I didn't know what to expect besides steakhouse. The interior is a vibe. It's dark and upscale. The large salad bar takes center stage. I wanted to be healthy, but it was hard--I filled up my plate with a lot of salad (they also had deli meats, cheeses, soups, olives, and more--great variety) when I also wanted to save room for meat! At first, servers slowly came out with different kinds of meat. They offered some to us, and cut them tableside and put them on our plates. After a while, it seemed like they just kept coming out and I immediately filled up. 1 person in our party is vegetarian and he ordered the tofu. He asked our server if he liked the tofu and the server laughed (because who comes here and orders tofu?) The tofu, by the way, lacked flavor. Anyways, service was wonderful. We shared a cheesecake at the end which was fun. Will be back for a date night. So much meat! And the salad bar! It's an experience! read more

This is a bar happy hour update- Shrinkflation? The $16 beef rib for happy hour is half the size that it was last year. I have all the photos from every visit through the years, can see a big difference. The presentation of this item was disappointing this recent visit. It was super salty. I appreciated all the food came out fast . Props to bar staff doing their thing because they have to make drinks for the whole restaurant AND serve the bar patrons for ordering food and collecting payment. First time to this Brazilian Steakhouse. It has a much better salad bar selection than the ones I have been to in the past. They have less options of meats to pick from though . The drink I had, which was part of the all day happy hour, was very good. The gentleman helping me was good which will reflect in my tip. Due to them forgetting my premium offer (lump crab cake) I received it for free. That was a nice correction to a wrong. One huge thing to me that I did not like was how the manager was around the whole experience and he went and talked to all the tables except for me. That was very offensive to me and it was not even because I was a solo table because he spoke with 2 other solo tables. Being a native San Franciscan foodie this experience was disappointing to me. I know now that I will not be returning due to my experience and sharing details to my followers. I had high expectations for Fogo de Chão given its premium price point, but unfortunately, the experience did not fully meet them. While the quality of the food was good overall, the variety of meats served to our table felt somewhat limited. We were offered the same cuts repeatedly, and some items, such as the chicken hearts, were only brought out after we specifically requested them. One of the standout cuts of the evening was served around 9:00 PM, by which time we were already quite full and unable to enjoy it as much as we would have liked. Additionally, the chocolate molten cake was underwhelming and did not live up to expectations. I've had more satisfying experiences at other Brazilian steakhouses, especially considering the cost. Highly recommend trying at least one slice from each meat so you know what to get seconds for. Personally, I found the Picanha to be one of my favorites! 4/5 - Cheese and Honey - Best to eat this fast as once the cheese cools it can harden and not be as soft as that first bite you take. You can ask for more honey on top if they circle back around. One of the best side dishes! 5/5 - Key Lime Pie - Soft and sweet! You'll enjoy choosing this as a dessert to top off your dinner experience. It might not look like a big slice, but you'll still find it quite filling! 5/5 - Cheesecake Brulee - Same with the key lime pie. The strawberry sauce was not too sweet or strong. We were four guys out to eat some quality meat and this place certainly delivered on that! The servers carrying around those flame grilled sticks of protein were doing a great job! At one point, I had to unfortunately flip my card to red because my plate was overflowing with meat! Our server at the table was also very good at getting our drinks in and removing excess plates. The salad bar was ok, there was fresh fruits and smoked salmon, some salad greens and of course the spicy sides...but the main star was always the meats and that was what our table focused on! They now have an "All Day Happy Hour" menu with $10 cocktails and $6 beers. Separately, there's a "The Trilogy Collection", three bottles of house wine deal for $99. Their house wine is pretty good. Our favorite meat was the picanha, prime sirloin. Well, all the meats were pretty good. Love Fogo! Great job everyone. Special thanks to our waiters that never stopped refilling our water and wine. Dropped in with my brother on a Tuesday for their $18 lunch buffet after seeing it advertised on social media and now I have added it to my rotation of best lunch deals in the city. It includes high-end items like aged cheeses, smoked salmon, charcuterie, and fresh hearts of palm that go far beyond a standard salad bar. All of the side dishes from the yucca fries to the caramelized bananas, and garlic mashed potatoes were delicious and quickly disappeared off their plates. Came in for a late lunch and I was surprised by how limited the selection of food was. The salad bar was the same and great but I come here for the table side service. They bring out large portions of side dishes without asking if you even want them which some of them I didn't which I hate wasting food so I didn't love that. I ordered a lemonade that was excellent and didn't know that I'd be charged for a refill when the server asked if I wanted another one. Usually drinks like lemonade have refills included and it would have been nice to be informed about that before another one came. The food was high quality but the limitations were surprising. The pineapple that comes at places like this is one of my favorite parts of Brazilian BBQ and I was shocked it wasn't part of the experience. The lunch price wasn't much better than the dinner. I visited this establishment for a weekday dinner in one of the private rooms, however the main dining area did not seem too busy at the time. The servers were polite and attentive throughout my dining experience. In addition to the usual meat carving and buffet style salad bar, a nice touch was having the seafood appetizer with lobster, crab, shrimp, and mussels. The meat service was as expected but I did notice the meats each felt a bit dry. I am a frequent diner at Espetus so I was a bit shocked at how dry each cut of meat was. For dessert, we decided to each order a different dessert and share so we got to try a little bit of each. We got the cheesecake brûlée, crème brûlée, chocolate molten cake, chocolate brigadeiro, and key lime pie; each of them were great and saved the meal for me. Most of our meal was the same meat cut. It was very very rare. We asked several times if we could have a meat more medium. That didn't happen. So we ate mostly the salad bar. Salad bar was excellent. However there were fruit flies in the restaurant. That was a bit annoying while eating. By the time different meat cuts were offered we were full. The restaurant is very nice, lots of dining tables with a full bar, and large salad bar with a number of varieties of salad choices, fruit, cold cuts, cheese.... The major attraction of course is the parade of servers who come to your table with cuts of meats ranging from sirloin steak, filet mignon, lamb, chicken, tri tip, chicken heart, which are sliced off of a metal rod.The servers are all nice and professional Dessert especially the cheesecake is highly recommended. My family and I have visited the San Francisco location several times over the years and have always enjoyed the experience. Unfortunately, our visit last Sunday was extremely disappointing. Two of us came for brunch at 1:00 PM. Upon arrival, we were seated at a table directly next to the salad bar. We politely asked if we could move to a quieter table, as the restaurant appeared to be at least half empty. The hostess eventually reseated us, but her attitude made us feel like we were inconveniencing her simply by asking. After being seated, we waited more than 10 minutes before our server came to our table. Once we placed our order and went to the salad bar, our water and bread did not arrive until about 15 minutes later. While that delay was not a major issue, the service only got worse from there. During the entire 1.5-2 hours we spent at the restaurant, our server came to our table only once, and that was to bring mashed potatoes. Unfortunately, the potatoes contained hard, undercooked chunks. We had to ask another server for a replacement, but the second serving was also undercooked. I don't know whether it was because of our table location or some other reason, but we barely saw any of the meat servers. Someone stopped by our table no more than five times throughout the entire meal. It's actually surprising to say that we left Fogo de Chão hungry. At the end of the meal, we waited more than 20 minutes for the check after asking another server for assistance because our own server never returned. When my wife politely followed up, the server simply held up a finger to indicate that she should wait. This visit completely ruined our day. We have always loved dining at Fogo de Chão because it felt like a special experience, but this was one of the worst restaurant experiences we have had in a long time. The food was good and abundant, I went for the champagne pairing event but it did not have the Beef Ribs. This is my favorite so I opted for the full experience. I'm so glad I did. The people were so helpful and friendly. The experience was great. The place is so beautiful and clean, the service was flawless and the staff are very welcoming. You can tell that they enjoy what they are doing. . They listened to my request on how I want my meat done and their portions. I love the Salad Bar . We had reservations at 7:30pm on Christmas Day and didn't get seated until 8pm. The waiting area was outside so it was pretty cold but there was a lot of seating. The buffet was pretty mediocre as I wished they had more options for the salad bar but nonetheless, it was nice to have. The beef options were pretty dry as well as the chicken. Our favorites from the night were the lamb chops as well as the mashed potatoes and cheesy bread. This was an experience we've been wanting to try and glad we finally got to do it. Came here to have a single dinner this Christmas. Made a reservation and was seated shortly after my arrival. All the staff were professional and friendly, especially the young Latina girl at the front door. Unfortunately, my waiter was not very friendly and disappeared a lot. I was able to order, but she never came back. She was an Eritrean young lady with a nasty attitude. I asked her for a 2 small containers and was planning on ordering dessert, eating some and taking the rest in the container. I live in the area and have come before and done the same thing. She starts getting an attitude saying they don't allow it and that she would only bring me one container and walked away. I decided to cancel my dessert and the additional martini I had ordered and leave the restaurant. I always tip good especially when I have good service and she missed out on a nice tip by having a nasty attitude. I paid and asked for my change. She took the payment and never brought my change back. I had to ask other staff for my change. I'm sure she was upset when she didn't get a tip and hopefully she learns a lesson it. Don't give the customer attitude if you want a good tip! My previous experience with a male waiter was awesome! He was very attentive and polite and he got a great tip too! I went went here during lunch. A coworker kept raving about their All-you-can-eat salad bar for $20. The place is nice inside and the customer service was great. No complaints. They provide complimentary cheeseballs. They're like puffy bread balls that lightly taste like cheese. They were good. I was expecting a really cheesy flavor but it's very subtle. The salad bar offered 2 soup options: Tomato bisque & black bean. Not sure if they switch the options daily or weekly but that's what they offered the day I went. As you can see in the pic, I'm not a huge meat eater so there's ONE slice of bacon. LOL. The bacon was nice and crisp. They marinate the bacon in maple syrup or something b/c it was sweet. It was good though. Salad bar: they had everything you would think of a salad bar: different types of greens, various dressings, beets, artichokes, fruit, cheese, potato salad, asparagus, deli meats, and so much more. If you're a huge meat eater, you can add on the option where they come around with various meats on a long metal skewer. They'll come by and slice some meat for you carnivores. The price is great considering a single salad order is generally $15-$20 anyway. My pics aren't the best but, I would definitely come back and hit the salad bar again. Thumbs up! read more

This was, without question, the worst Brazilian steakhouse experience I've ever had -- and I've been to plenty. We came in with a party of eight, and the service was so bad it felt like we were invisible. They brought ONE filet mignon skewer for the entire table. One. By the time it made it around, it was basically a joke. We kept asking if more was coming, and all we got were empty promises. To make things worse, we actually had to get up and go ask for sides -- multiple times. At a place charging this much, the sides should be flowing without us having to chase anyone down. Instead, it felt like we were bothering them just by asking for the basics. Everything about the service sucked. Slow, unorganized, and completely uninterested in taking care of guests. For the price they charge, this was embarrassing. Save your money. There are far better Brazilian steakhouses in the Bay Area that actually bring food to your table and don't make you beg for sides. read more

We arrived a bit early for our reservation made weeks in advance as a birthday request. We drove past and saw what we thought was a few people waiting in line. When we arrived we were floored to discover they booked 2k people and they only hold 400! Surprisingly, not really.. hours were extended to midnight. I noticed people were holding flutes of sparkling wine, so I made my way inside to the bar I was not about to stand out there and wait for who knows how long without an adult beverage! When I approached the bar a male bartender snapped "there is only one per person!" I was completely shocked and confused. I said excuse me ? He repeated I realized the sparkling wine was complimentary and he mistakenly thought it was a "return" visit for me. I assured him I was one person. At this point another bartender served me a glass and I rejoined the mass of other waiting persons and yes, everyone also had reservations. I get they were extremely busy. However, in spite of this gross overbooking situation and this extremely disrespectful and rude male bartender the rest of the staff were the most kind , funny and helpful people. We were served by Bryce, we couldn't have had a better customer service experience such a sweetheart! In the midst of what I'm sure was the busiest night of the year so far! We choose the Full Charuscco Indulgence experience. It came with a lobster tail bathed in butter appetizer, so sweet and tender! No surprise, the salad bar was ravished! I enjoy the Fogo salad bar it's one of my favorite parts of the dining experience. This was a no win situation, I was seated Birds Eye view of the area and restock was slow or not at all for some items. There was a couple of patrons who were hovering eating mashed potatoes with their fingers and then grabbing the serving spoons. This behavior is so offensive and disgusting, please don't! Thankfully, we were already done. We flipped our circle cards over to green to indicate we were ready to start receiving delicious varieties of cuts of meat. We had our delicious warm and chewy cheese bread, polenta sticks and sweet banana appetizer, mashed potatoes. The stand outs for me were the garlic steak sirloin, garlic roasted pork, prime rib. I was a yes to those a few times. The lamb wasn't a favorite it was tough and the flavor wasn't there for me. I do enjoy lamb. Dessert was divine the crème brûlée cheesecake is indescribably delicious! It's cheesecake encrusted in the crunchy crème brûlée topping it's the best! Once we all sat down the service was quite slow. We had to tell the waitress that we are ready for some protein. The melted cheese with honey it's absolutely phenomenal. I loved it how you can take as much meat as you wanted! It's all you can eat on the fixed price. It's fun to do this once a while, because there's 8-10 different proteins is being brought up to your table. Lastly, the Tres Leches Cake is absolutely amazing! I was not able to finish the dessert take it to-go. Definitely a must try if you liked milk cake. read more
