    Crispy pork belly chaufa
    Amanda C.

I had dinner at Limón with a group of 6 friends on a Thursday night. This location is not too busy compared to the Walnut Creek and Oakland locations. It is smaller, with indoor seating only. The lighting is more dim and they have Peruvian music playing in the background. You can watch and hear the kitchen staff busily creating their dishes and you are adorned with the great smells of the food. I decided to try the crispy pork belly chaufa as I wanted a comfort meal in the cold weather. The portion sizes here are large and you can likely share dishes with your group. The meal comes in a large bowl and tray as it arrives fresh and hot so you just need to be careful with handling it right away. I appreciate the proportion of fried rice to pork belly. The rice itself is well-seasoned and has fresh slices of green onion, bits of pork belly, fried egg and carrots. The pork belly is the perfect thickness, as the edges are crispy and the interior is still soft and tender to bite into. The glaze is reminiscent of teriyaki and is sweet, sticky and delicious. This meal was very hearty and filling! The mango lemonade is very sweet and the mango is more overpowering. I liked it but I do prefer lemonade to still maintain a level of tartness so it's really up to your personal preference. Overall, you can't go wrong with dining here and I'd love to come back and try more items on the menu.

Me and my friend love this place we come here very often. Honestly the only complaint I have it I hate the tables they are not barely big enough for one person let alone two lol I get it sf is small but man these tables are so cramped it's hard to enjoy eating the food. I've had a few different items and of them all the polli papas and cheese empanadas are my absolute favorite items. The roasted chicken with rice and veggies is also good. The other dishes I've tried were all fine too but the fries with chicken are just so good hard to top them

I made a reservation to meet a friend here and while they had my table ready promptly they did require the whole party to be present before being seated, just an FYI! I had a glass of wine at the bar while I waited. Overall was impressed with my meal and service!! We got the ceviche mixto, coliflor and ribeye and it was perfect for two people. We really enjoyed every dish!! Service was also impeccable our server was super attentive and the manager also checked on us! Truly a solid experience. It can get a little loud so prepare to speak loudly! Overall good fun vibes!

Had a reservation here Friday night at 9pm. It was a full house and we waited about 5-10 minutes to get seated. We ordered Saltado de pollo and Jalea, along with the chicha morada (non-alc) and Lycheemelon cocktail. The drinks came out first, just a FYI that the Lycheemelon was huge haha. Our food also came out SUPER quick which was a pleasant surprise. The saltado de pollo was alright, definitely lots of sauce, a bit too much in our opinion. Fries didn't have much flavor and texture wise were kinda just soggy from the sauce. On the other hand, I loved the Jalea -- everything was seasoned perfectly and just the right level of crispiness. The only thing I noticed was that the canchitas didn't really taste like anything / not seasoned or salted. Vibes were nice, it definitely gets really loud inside so it was a bit hard to have a conversation. Staff cleared our empty dishes quickly and seemed to be really attentive. They come to you to pay via POS reader/machine. Overall had an enjoyable time, would be down to come again if someone else suggested to try other dishes, but probably wouldn't go out of my way for it.

Great customer service- We been coming here because we like customer service and we liked food and food portions. It's been a few times lately where we get almost an empty plate, poor plate for the price. I wish I had save a picture of the same plates we used to get. We left very disappointed!

Limón in the Mission is the original, popular restaurant with well-known family chefs and owners. I was surprised we immediately got a table for 2 without waiting, but maybe due to Tuesday night. The interior is beautiful, contemporary and airy. Acoustics are loud and echoing, so it's more of a family celebration or friends gathering place than romantic date spot. The wine list was a bit limited for San Francisco, but their craft cocktails were great. Service was pretty good, prompt and courteous. The Veggie Empanadas were probably the best I've had, even counting Lima. Perfect handmade casing, with rich and delicious truffle-infused mushrooms and Oaxaca cheese inside. So good, 2 for $13 but worth every bite! This was my favorite selection of the night. Mixto Clásico was standard, nothing exceptional, so I guess classic! I'll try a more adventurous ceviche next time. Similarly, I found the Arroz con Mariscos very good, particularly the head-on prawns, but we probably should've went with something more exciting. The rice was cooked right and there was enough seafood in the entree to split among the two of us. We'll come back to try other dishes, trying restaurant specialties rather than the clásicos.

So my friend and I had a little girls night and wanted a really good dinner and then we were off to a comedy show down the street from Limon. This was our first time at this restaurant. We did not know they have several locations throughout the Bay Area. Anyway, we started with a pitcher of classic margaritas and brussel sprouts. We could have stopped there. The margaritas were so tasty and fresh. The glass had lots of salt that could last after multiple pours. The Brussels sprouts were perfect, with a nice bite, well charred and a tangy sauce with parm. But we ordered more and both had the Flat Iron steak with mashed potatoes and vegetable. Damn! It was so good. I know we could have have a bunch of seafood but how often do you see a flat iron steak. We asked for medium rare and it was. The portions were big but I managed to eat almost all of it. The veggies were a great mix and the seasoning on them was delicious. Mashed potatoes were super creamy. I did not need any salt or pepper. Loved it. Wish I had room for dessert. But now that I know there are locations closer to my home, I will go again. Our service was attentive and well timed. And very friendly. Bathroom was clean. Nice crowd.

The ceviche here was incredible. I would definitely come back just for the ceviche however I was not impressed by everything else. The service was ok, we were sat immediately upon our arrival which was impressive considering it was a Saturday night. Our server only took our drink and food order and then disappeared until we were about ready to go. Because of this we didn't have a chance to mention that we had not enjoyed our drinks and were even hesitant on mentioning it since we were about to head out. We decided to anyways since we really hadn't drank more than a sip or two, after though our server seemed annoyed. Despite these things I think Limón's food is definitely worth the hype they just need a little improvement on service. 4/5 because the food carried this experience which is ultimately what we went there for.

In my opinion is the best Peruvian food I ever had, Limon doesn't disappoint me all the flavors in the food makes this restaurant very unique, the drinks here taste so delicious and they have great options based on your mood, I've been to limon in different locations all I can say is they know how to take care of you when it comes to service, I love the ambience perfect for a date night or bday dinner celebration.

We were promptly seated on a Saturday night dinner around 6:15PM even though they were booked online until 7:45. Service was pretty quick and friendly, but you could tell they were trying to push us on selling drinks/appetizers. I felt like the service staff's mood might've changed a little after we were fine with only water (shocker I know, we usually don't order $17 cocktails...). Other appetizer menu items were similar in pricing if not more expensive than entrees themselves. I ordered an Arroz con Mariscos and a Pollo a la Brasa, and was pleasantly surprised with the portion sizes given the upscale restaurant vibe. I was expecting a lot less food, but turns out they gave regular portions, and boy were they GOOD. The paella is a standard paella, and it was very flavorful. Although it came with only a couple shrimp and other seafoods, the portion was still fulfilling for 1 person. To be fair, it's not really portioned to share unless you order a ton of other dishes. The half chicken was one of the best chickens I've had. The seasoning on the skin and the crispiness from the oven perfectly compliments each other, and my mouth is watering as I'm typing this. It's pretty savory, and the flavors soak through into the breast, so you know it's been marinating for a while. The fries reminded me of McDonald's fries cuts, and the salad was sweet and sour. An appetizer wasn't necessary for us, but if you're hungry, then definitely consider ordering one. The vibe was very cozy, but I couldn't shake off the feeling that since we ordered only 2 dishes, the service team kinda rushed us after ~45min of sitting and dining. To be fair, other tables had at least one cocktail per person, but at close to $20 per drink, we could not justify the price. A solid 4 stars!

There is a nice selection off the main menu for Happy Hour 4-6pm. Providing an opportunity to sample one or more of the menu items as an appetizer. I chose the mussels with garlic bread, as good ones are not found easily. The portion was quite ample, and the sauce I dipped my nice crunchy garlic bread in was very flavorful, warm and delicious. I also tried the plantains which were cooked perfectly; not too mushy with a perfect char, and the sweet onions on top were also tasty. Paired with a very tangy dipping sauce. All the flavors came together well. My husband ordered the Cantina burger which he enjoyed down to the last bite. Our daughter also sampled off the smaller menu with Lomo Empanadas and the Chicharron de Pollo which she reported were both very nicely prepared. Will, our server gave us excellent recommendations which we availed ourselves of. The bill for 4 items plus the burger, a side of rice, and a ginger beer came to just under seventy dollars, which was a reasonable price. I would definitely give the food five stars, and the restaurant four as it's a long and lengthy bar with a few tables for two. The majority of the seating is in the back with two flat screens and an open kitchen. I can imagine how loud this place can get. We went at the perfect time: not a lot of customers so we received excellent individualized service from Will. I would hope to be able to return next time we visit GG Park and sample some more menu items like the Peruvian Paella which sounded very promising.

Offering a rich array of traditional Peruvian dishes, Mi Lindo Peru is a celebrated restaurant known for its vibrant flavours and generous portions. The establishment has become a favourite of go-to spots among locals and visitors alike for an authentic taste of Peru in San Francisco. Located in Bernal Heights, parking can be challenging in this bustling area. Luckily, we arrived around 6:30 PM, so I was able to find a space across the street, less than a block away. Truth be told, though - I did drive around the neighbourhood about 1.5 times before scoring a spot. The brightly lit dining room's ambiance is casual, unfussy and welcoming. Only one table was occupied and no other customers arrived to dine in during our visit. We sat at the half booth table at the very front, adjacent to the entrance. On this evening, the spacious venue was clean; however, a small stack of empty white plastic buckets at the foyer floor stuck out to me like an eye sore. Along with our menus, we were served a complimentary basket of two slices of soft, white bread, a ramekin each of a single ball of soft butter and a non-spicy red salsa. Below are what we ordered: Chicha Morada (Glass, $4.95) - Ana ordered this beverage for me, insisting that I try a Peruvian drink. She described this sweet purple corn juice as a Peruvian Kool-Aid. Her description was pretty spot on. Just a bit too sweet for me, but nonetheless refreshing. Aji de Gallina ($22.95) - I have always been curious about this classic Peruvian creamy stew, so was stoked that Smitty said that she was ordering it. YUM!! I need to order this next time! Lomo a lo Pobre ($28.95) - "A lo pobre" translates to "poor man's style" in Spanish and refers to the simple addition of a fried egg, fried plantains and/or rice and french fries to traditional Peruvian dishes to add another level of tastiness. I'm a big fan of Lomo Saltado, but jumped on this option with the added plaintain and perfectly fried egg. I was conservative and had the egg yolk ooze over the white rice (I could tell that the rice was steaming hot because the yolk began to cook once I sat the egg atop it). I immediately regretted that move, kicking myself for missing out on exploring the added flavour from breaking the egg over the meat, veggies and french fries medley. Next time, for sure! Despite the slight tough texture of the lean strips of meat, my meal was still delicious and enjoyable. Service was friendly and fast. I was taken aback when the check was delivered sans asking us if we were interested in dessert, though,...especially because I was so looking forward to a sweet finale with Alfajores. We inquired, but, sadly, they were out of the dulce de leche cookies due to their popularity during Valentine's Day weekend. The cookie monster in me was SUPER bummed. I initially thought that they had no inventory of postres (dessert) since they didn't offer any at first, but turned out that they did, indeed, still had offerings. We decided to pass on the sweet course. So delighted I was to be introduced to Mi Lindo Peru by mi querida amiga. I would happily return to continue the delectable culinary journey here that highlights the essence of Peru.
