Sides and Salad bar were satisfactory but the meats were great! Gotta make sure to taste the Beef Rib, lamb picanha, prime picanha, and honey and cheese. Only thing better was the service. Manny, Troy and John kept slicing cuts, gave great recommendations, and made us feel comfortable to stuff our faces. The star of the show however was the CSR John. Service was on poinThink, Cousin from the show THE BEAR after he started wearing suits. All in all, great birthday dinner.

We had a large part of 10 and we were able to make an easy reservation online for a Friday night. The staff were very welcoming. We dove right into the beautiful salad bar and enjoyed a wide variety of table cut meats. Everything was delicious and the attention given to our group was definitely noticed. Our water cups were always full. Clean plates provided before we even asked. And the delicious meats kept coming until we could eat no more. Definitely visit Fogo de Chao for a wonderful evening of food and fun.

John is on top of everything going on without ever making things feel rushed or chaotic. He's friendly, easy to talk to, and keeps everything running smoothly in a way that feels natural, not forced. He makes the whole experience more welcoming, and clearly has the kind of presence that fits a leadership role in any restaurant.

Made a reservation on Easter for dinner, got sat promptly but no one had approached my table until my boyfriend had to ask someone to help us with service. While waiting for 20+ minutes of no service, I saw there about 2 meat guys, 2 servers, 3 bussers, 1-2 bartenders and 1 host. And it was fairly busy. Countless workers had walked by and no one had checked in with us. I'm going through a lot mentally but I felt forgotten and not acknowledged. It was supposed to be a special night but honestly felt ruined. I walked out with my boyfriend. Other locations are way better

Of the four Fogo de Chao locations I've been to, the one in Thousand Oaks is easily the nicest. Unfortunately, similar to my experience at the other locations, the customer service can't keep up with what the ambiance and price point demand of it. There was one Gaucho who was flat out rude, but for the most part, it just seems like employees aren't well trained. That being said, there are a few who stood out because they provided the type of service you expect when you're spending close to $100 per person. The salad bar was regularly refilled and the endless variety of meats were constantly offered to us, but this location does seem to over salt their meat. Fogo de Chao in Thousand Oaks is a great restaurant for special occasions. I can't wait to come back and feel the Picanha in my belly trying to pop the button off my jeans!

Another great experience at Fogo de Chao! We are always treated so well and the service is top notch. Once again John made our experience wonderful. He made us the most fantastic drink- a strawberry hibiscus mint smash. We had been enjoying strawberry hibiscus caprianas and mint smash drinks and he suggested a combo which was wonderful- my new favorite. The food was also cooked perfectly and served with impeccable timing. Will also provided very good service. This is truly such a wonderful place. Thank you John and Will for making our visit so wonderful.

$78 per person for cold sides and 5 shavings of cheap cuts. I asked for some (advertised in the menu) FILET MIGNON after 2 hours.

I have been to several Fogo de Chao restaurants and this was the worst experience ever! The sides were cold when served and we waited 10 to 20 minutes in-between small tiny cuts of meat. We were there for almost 2 hours and I got 5 tiny servings of meat. I left the restaurant HUNGRY! Two time I asked the servers who were talking amongst themselves if they could bring FILET to our table and after 2 hours and asking several times they finally bought some over a I got 1 tiny shaving. That was what I sum up as a complete waste of money!!! I paid $78 per person for 5 shavings of meat over 2 hours. GO TO A REAL STEAKHOUSE IF YOU WANT A GOOD MEAL! TRUST ME! I WILL NOT WASTE MY HARD EARNED MONEY HERE AGAIN!!!! GRADE F- $78 per person for cold sides and 5 shavings of cheap cuts over 2 hours. I asked several employees for some (advertised in the menu) FILET MIGNON and after sitting there for 2 hours finally got 1 tiny shaving. Complete waste of money and date night with my wife. Hugely disappointed!!!

This was an amazing foodie experience and I highly recommend! An absolute MUST! Such a fabulous dining adventure here at Fogo de Chao! This location at The Lakes in Thousand Oaks is so nice... plenty of parking, beautiful dining room and beautiful patio seating as well. The service is great! The hostesses kindly greet you when you walk in and literally right when you're seated the server comes and introduces herself and for us first timers, offered a quick run down of what their dining experience is all about... BIG SHOUT OUT TO OUR WONDERFUL SERVER SARAH! She was a doll! So thorough and attentive throughout our meal. We never felt rushed or forgotten and she went out of her way to make sure our dinner was awesome as did the rest of the staff throughout our time there. Not overkill- just professional and friendly. The food! Was so good! We started with their seafood tower which was excellent! The lobster tail, (4 small quarters-a few bites each), was so good! Also included 4 tasty claws, about 8 shrimp, some crab legs (very messy and hard work to get the meat out) and very fresh tasty mussels. I wish they included oysters and I also wish they'd serve the crab already shelled cocktail style. I think $112 is overpriced and only because I'm comparing it to Mastros which offers about the same amount of seafood including oysters and a large helping of crab cocktail (and no mess) for $80. Still I do recommend it just be prepared for the mess :o) The Market Table & Feijoada Bar is amazing! So much to choose from and so hard to not over eat! Included with the meals whether you choose an entree or the full CHURRASCO which is where they're constantly bringing a variety of meats to the table! 2 of us had that and 2 of us ordered the SINGLE CHURRASCO CUT with top & bottom sirloin *excellent! Then of course we finished off with an espresso martini and shared the Brûlée Cheesecake oh my gosh drool drool! So good! This truly was an amazing dinner and clearly I recommend it! Very pricey (personally think it's a little overpriced) and honestly not a restaurant I'd come to other than for special occasions and we don't mind spending money on an excellent dinner but for four people w/drinks and an appetizer you're looking at a $500 meal! Enjoy!!

At the time the dining room was sparsely populated, only a few other tables were seated. We were seated quickly by the hostess and ordered within a few minutes of sitting down; my wife ordered the seafood pasta I ordered the butternut squash ravioli and the tomato burrata salad as an appetizer. After about 20 minutes the waitress returned to let us know that they were out of the pasta, so my wife asked for the risotto instead. The salad arrived quickly, however my wife noted that it was missing grilled peaches that were listed in the menu description, a disappointment. The salad itself was balsamic dressed cherry tomatoes with a single piece of burrata on top. Another 40 minutes later our entrees finally arrived. Much to my dismay my dish lacked any appreciable character; it was as if they had cooked six month old frozen pasta and thrown up a brown sauce with fried sage on top. My wife's risotto was mostly cheese but was also similarly devoid of other flavors. Now to be fair to the folks here, I did mention to the waitstaff that the flavors in the food were off and they did reduce the bill. They were also apologetic about the wait we faced. Nevertheless, restaurants have three things they need to do well in order to be successful: food, service and ambience. Perhaps if they improved the quality of the food and the time to service more people would come. Needless to say, but I won't be returning.

I'd been wanting to go back and take Dear Hubby to enjoy this very special re-imagining of the previous space, which had been an Irish pub incarnation. When our sister-in-law and two nieces were in town, the five of us were able to spend a quick evening together at Selvin's. We had been working on a project at our house, and by the time we got finished and ready to go out there wasn't a lot of time left as we went on a weeknight and they close at 9:00. I'm surprised that having a full bar, and being attached to a hotel property, that they would hang it up so early - even 9:30 or 10:00 would make more sense. It's such a charming place; seems a shame to have to call it a night so early. The ambiance is absolutely divine, especially out here in suburbia. It's very innovative in its layout. The lighting was carefully planned and is very effective in creating a special mood. And, what can be said about the wall of roses? It's tailor-made for snapping fun photos, that's for sure. The chef is sending out creative and Dee-Licious dishes from the kitchen. Yes, I know how to spell delicious, but it is worth adding the accented flair to stating the fact that this is a cut above many other dining establishments in the Conejo Valley. Dear Hubby and I shared Pappardelle Pasta and a Tuna Tartare appetizer. Both were excellent. One of our nieces ordered the taco platter. Wait till you see the photo. The only thing that was disappointing, menu-wise, was that bread wasn't included, so we ordered some as a side. Two little slices. I've forgotten the price, but I recall that it turned into sticker shock when we saw what was served. I'm tickled that they offer a nice array of zero proof cocktail options. They aren't inexpensive - apparently spirits without alcohol aren't any less (or maybe only slightly less?) than the full-spirited options. Still, it's nice to have the option. Our out of town family members LOVED Selvin's; it was a big hit with all of us. As an added bonus, there was a guitarist playing beautiful acoustic music when we arrived and were seated in the lounge area. Major extra credit!

However, we were surprised by the pricing for what is essentially a takeout operation: $28 for a steak sandwich, $24 for a chicken sandwich, $24 for a breakfast burrito, $17 for bread and butter, and $9 for a cookie--all with a required 18% gratuity. We hoped the quality of the food would justify the cost, but unfortunately, it did not. After waiting a long time for our order, we finally sat down to eat, only to be very disappointed. * The Fries: These were thick, over-seasoned, and over-fried potato wedges. * The Steak Sandwich: Consisting only of steak and onion, it was incredibly dry and unappealing. * The Burrito: Entirely bland and lacked flavor with eggs and over fried bacon bits and potatoes * The Coffee: Even the iced lattes at the coffee shack were bad - tasted very milky with very little espresso and warm. Our mocha latte was horrible as the chocolate powder was not mixed well, clumpy on the bottom of the cup The meal felt greasy and unhealthy, and despite being hungry, we couldn't even finish half of it. The food was absolutely disgusting. We threw everything in the trash bin. I wouldn't recommend this spot and certainly won't be returning. For the price, they should. I'm told you can ask for it and it's free but why wouldn't they just offer it if they make it? Little details like this are expected to be on point for $200/person. Still might be back, as it's some of the best food in Thousand Oaks. If you don't want to valet, you can park around corner on TO Blvd.

Went to Mastro's Steakhouse recently and Brittney was incredible. Super friendly, attentive, and…read morereally great about making recommendations without ever being pushy. We tried the maple glazed steak bacon appetizer and the jumbo prawn & filet -- both were amazing. The filet was cooked perfectly and the prawns were so good. Overall, it was just a really great experience. Brittney genuinely cares about her guests having a good time, and you can tell. Will definitely be back.

I had previously been to the Thousand Oaks location of Mastro's Steakhouse for a work function and…read morereally enjoyed it, so for Mother's Day I suggested my daughters and I go there for dinner. We had a 7:45 reservation and waited about 15 minutes, which honestly wasn't a huge issue considering it was Mother's Day and we booked last minute. We sat in the bar area, which was semi-dark and a little loud, but still had a nice atmosphere overall. Our waitress, Britney, was very friendly and welcoming. We ordered drinks, bread came out quickly, and we placed our dinner order. When the food arrived, the plates were extremely hot as usual, so we waited a moment before touching them while our sides were still being served. As Britney was serving the asparagus, mashed potatoes, and mac and cheese, one of my daughters noticed a hair on her plate. Britney immediately stopped and asked what was wrong. My daughter explained, and Britney asked if she wanted a clean plate or an entirely new meal made. My daughter seemed uncomfortable and just asked for a clean plate. Britney took the plate back to show the kitchen and returned with the steak, but without the asparagus that had originally been on the plate. I didn't say anything at the time, but what disappointed me was that she later served the remaining asparagus pieces that had been left over from the original serving dish. We still tried to enjoy the rest of our evening, and overall the service was pleasant, but I was honestly surprised nothing was replaced or comped considering the situation. I wasn't looking for anything free, but I did expect a little more attention to detail and hospitality, especially at a restaurant with Mastro's reputation.

My fiance tried this place with his family then brought me here to have a taste. He said the place…read morewas delicious! We drove out and got there after 2.5 hours in traffic. I'm going to say that the service was really nice and the staff was really attentive. There wasn't many other people there, which is not great to see because they deserve more attention! They got nice modern comfortable decor and wide open spaces. We tried the tasting menu for each of us as well as an additional dish of steak. Champagne and sake were our choice of alcohol. The tasting itself was $88 and it serves 9 courses. I recommend having it if you aren't sure what to eat. All the dishes were presented nicely and tasted wonderful. We had an additional tasting after for round 2. Haha not because it didn't fill us up, but because we had to invite more people. The tasting is enough to make sure you're full. Plentiful parking in the lot attached. The location is a bit buried inside where the neighborhood is quiet, but it is definitely worth a try. They have sister restaurants called Omaniku in the 626 area as well. I recommend anyone to come try for anniversary, birthdays, date nights, celebrations, or get togethers! You'll impress them with the taste.

They have reopened after a long hiatus. And I am SO glad they did, this area (Agoura / Westlake /…read moreOak Park / TO) needs a place like this... What has changed? Ken is now running FOH, and he's a real pro. They have two new FOH servers who show their newbieness but they definitely have promise. New chef (but with Will still overseeing the kitchen) - there is just a hint of variability in the temperatures of individual dishes but I trust they will nail that down. I do appreciate they remember how I like my meat...and I trust they will get their consistency place which will move them from excellent now to GREAT. The menu is mostly the same (for those that loved their original menu - the chawanmushi egg custard and chicken wings are still there, though the chicken wings lost a little of their unique and beguiling crispness, which I hope they will find again. They flavours are still off the hook...The shishito peppers and whole squid seem to be missing) They also added a tasting menu which, for those unfamiliar with Charcoal Niku's style of modern Asian fusion cuisine, is a great introduction. At $88 for 9 courses ($118 for a one serving sake and wine pairing) the price is actually quite reasonable for the quality of the ingredients, prep, and presentation. All in all, I am very glad they are back, and if you haven't tried them, I could not recommend Charcoal Niku more. So much so I have friends from LA, 30-45 minutes away, who are constantly asking me, "When are we going back?" 'Nuf said.
