Proof that we ate here and that this review is legit.

Horrible experience. No greeting, first words were "one check or seperate?". Our server rushed us to order and eat, she kept asking us to pass her our plates even though we were still eating. when we finished eating, she still asked us to pass her our plates when she could've just waited for us to leave or grab it from behind us. She was also on her phone as she was serving our table. She spilled margaritas on my sister-in-law. Food was decent but the server BRENDA was obviously being lazy and rushing us. Her favorite phrase was "can you pass me that plate?". I am not hiding her name because management needs to address Brenda with these issues. Very unprofessional, rude, and unacceptable server. The gentlemen at the front were polite at least. Thanks for reading!

I came in with a couple of friends after watching a movie at the AMC next door. We were immediately greeted and seated. It wasn't too busy even though it was a Saturday night. Our waiter was Hector and he was friendly and efficient. The food came out very quickly. I ordered the nachos and it was delicious! It came out hot and fresh and I really enjoyed it. It was a very affordable meal as well. It was the perfect place for a post-movie meal. I'm looking forward to returning.

So wanted to give them a higher rating but I can't. The restaurant is adorable. Right now it's decorated for the day of the dead. It's very inviting and it's clean and comfortable. The bar stools are a work of art. The staff were all friendly. We were greeted and sat immediately. Now the reason for the two stars. The chips and salsa were great. The chips were warm and delicious. My husband usually eats the red sauce and I eat the white sauce. Both were good and the white one had a little kick. My husband ordered the lunch special number 12. The waitress didn't ask what type of enchiladas he wanted so we asked her what were our choices. She said they only came with ground beef and my husband said ok. I asked for the lunch special that comes with two hard tacos and rice. When our meals came out, my husband had chicken enchiladas which he didn't want. So we sent his back. I had asked for black beans and cheese tacos (vegetarian) with a side of rice. I got beef in my enchilada which I didn't even order and a side of black beans. I sent it back and reiterated that my order consisted of two hard black bean tacos and a side of rice. When it came back out, it was what is pictured. At that point I didn't want to send it back a second time so I kept it. Not sure if it was the experience but it's the first time that I don't enjoy my meal at a Mexican restaurant. The black beans had absolutely no taste whatsoever and I don't like enchiladas. I ate my open face black bean taco and left the rest. With so many great Mexican restaurants in Hampton Roads I doubt I will ever go back to this one.

Food is very good, service is great too! Place is clean. Good place to eat. This isn't our first time here, and it won't be our last

By far-my favorite Las Palmas location! The food is my favorite Mexican available in the Hampton Roads area. The location can't be beat-it's right by the Movie Theater in Lynnhaven Mall-great for a date night meal before a movie!!! Service was INSANELY awesome-very attentive server and staff and the food was SUPER fast!!! My ONLY concern or recommendation is that the Margarita just isn't quite what you can get at Jose's or other places.

Located across the AMC movie theater. Promising at first as we were seated right away, drinks and chips too. The menu was sticky and gross and the waiter was just rushing to take orders . The food was ok, but i am disappointed by the quality, it was salty and the tamales were soggy. We felt crammed and the walking space to move around is tight. You pretty much pay for location.

I've eaten here a few times over the past 3 years and I've enjoyed myself each time. I figured it's time for a review to I can extol its awesomeness. Las Palmas 2 used to be a Ruby Tuesday - I guess RT was downsizing because a few of their locations have closed up. Regardless, LP2 is there now and right across from the AMC Theater. So whenever I'm there to watch a movie I know I can grab a quick bite at LP2. That's what's great about LP2 - they are fast, convenient and their food is delicious. I usually stick with their specials, like the Brian Special, Chef's Ranchero Special, Sizzling Steak & Shrimp and the Ixtapa Fajitas. All of them are excellent and will fill you up. If you're in a hurry but still want some good food, then check out Las Palmas 2. They are fantastic from top to bottom. JV

Tried this place for the first time today was really good the serving size for lunch are impeccable There are quite a few things on the menu that you do not find at your average Mexican restaurant As well as a lot of low car options we tried the nonalcoholic smoothies in Mango and banana They were very good they do not seem cream-based they're more of like an ice slush smoothie very good in my opinion and I love that they gave you a little umbrella with the fresh fruit the staff are very welcoming a nice here a few came in nice and hot and very quick definitely recommend this location

Decent food at this mallside restaurant. Stopped here after seeing a movie. Had your typical Mexican dishes but I ordered shrimp, scallops, chicken, mushroms, onions peppers in a pineapple. Fajitas dish but i skipped the fajita. Margaritas were strong. Service was lacking after we got our food. Chips were thick and salsa so so.

Get the table side guacamole! And if you want to try a little bit of everything, and I am talking about protein get the Molcajete. It is sooooooo good! The service is AMAZING, and the staff is so attentive. I mean, even if they are not your waiter they will ask if you need anything. That goes A LONG WAY! If you go in the evening, you will have to wait for a table, but it is worth it. BEST Mexican food in Virginia Beach, and I am from So Cal, so I know what good Mexican is supposed to taste like. Plus, I am Mexican, so there's that too.

I went in for some dinner before catching a movie at AMC. I heard mixed reviews about this place but Id rather experience for myself. They gave me the typical Mexican restaurant feel. The staff was nice and we got a seat right away. They started off with drinks, chips, white sauce and salsa. Their white sauce had more of a lime and cilantro flavor. We ordered the Pollo a la Crema. It is chicken with a special cheese and sour cream served with beans, rice, and a guac salad. My friend ordered the vegan beans, rice, chalupa, and fajita. The food was good but in all honesty it wont be somewhere I would always wanna come back too. But dont take my word on it, try them out... we all have different preferences....

One piece of advice: arrive a little before Happy Hour begins at 3:00 p.m. If you wait until then, you'll likely find yourself several people deep in line. Don't let that discourage you. Embrace it, because once you're seated you'll quickly discover that the wait was well worth it. The food is delicious, the portions are generous, and the prices--especially during Happy Hour--are outstanding. The Atlantic specializes in oysters, and their Happy Hour runs daily from 3:00-6:00 p.m., including weekends. We began with a Chopped Caesar Salad ($9). Every ingredient was crisp, fresh, and flavorful--a simple dish executed exactly as it should be. Next came the oysters: a dozen Rockefeller and a dozen Pacific. The Rockefeller oysters were everything you would expect from this classic preparation--rich, savory, and baked beautifully. The Pacific oysters, however, completely stole the show. Each oyster was topped with a delicious combination of chorizo sausage, pepper jack cheese, and seasonings before being baked to perfection. They were bold, flavorful, and easily my favorite item of the afternoon. I also ordered the Double Stack Cheeseburger ($7), and what a terrific value. The burger arrived piping hot, loaded with melted cheese, and accompanied by a generous serving of crispy fries. It's hard to imagine finding a better burger at that price anywhere along the Oceanfront. My wife ordered the pork, shrimp, and kimchi dumplings served with a chili crunch and ponzu sauce that tied the entire dish together beautifully. She jokingly threatened to drink the remaining sauce after finishing the dumplings (she didn't), but she did convince me to dip one of my fries into it. She was absolutely right--it was fantastic. In fact, I now regret turning down the dumpling she generously offered me. Part of the fun of dining here is watching Shuck-Master Slim work. He's not only remarkably skilled but entertaining as well, adding a little personality to an already enjoyable experience. From the fresh seafood to the outstanding value and friendly atmosphere, this was another memorable visit to the Virginia Beach Oceanfront. If you haven't been to The Atlantic on Pacific, I highly recommend adding it to your list. You'll be glad you did, and you can rest assured that you're helping support one of our outstanding local restaurants.

My main was the roasted beet salad which was plentiful and flavorful. The addition of a fried goat cheese ball on the side was delicious. Others enjoyed hush puppies, lobster roll, and sashimi. All were enjoyed with rave reviews. The restaurant is a nice size, not too big and not too small. The noise level was decent as we could still have a conversation even at the bar.

My most recent visit here was on January 23, 2026. I've seen this place several times as I have gone with my mom to Hobby Lobby. It caught my attention again to try this place when they were listed as a part of the 2026 Virginia Beach Restaurant Week. This is what ultimately got me to get in and try them out. The outside of the place is similar to other places next to the business, but they are very easy to spot. On each of my visits here, I didn't encounter any issues with parking and such, so there seems to be ample parking available. When my mom and I first came in, we were immediately greeted and were able to get a table immediately. I wasn't sure what it would be at first since I saw stuff about reservations. This first visit was on January 21, 2026. Once we were seated, our server came to the table to ask us what we wanted to drink. I did the water with lemon, and my mom went for a Coke, though the Coke never came to the table during this first visit. In the end, that was no big deal. Since we were here specifically for the restaurant week, we stuck to that menu that evening. For the appetizer, I went with the Picanha Empanadas. For the main entree, I went with the 8 oz Filet Mignon with Green Beans and Queso De Mano as my two sides. For the dessert, I sure did go for the Rum Crème Brulée. My mom ended up doing the same thing on this first visit. A few minutes after ordering, the Empanadas came to the table. This came with an olive mayo chimichurri for dipping. The empanadas and the chimichurri complemented each other very well. The taste was amazing too. A few minutes before the entrees would come out, our server came over and put some hot sauce and chimichurri sauce at the table to use. When the entrees came out, they looked really good, and they were hot, so it took a few moments to start. I started with the green beans, and they had such a great flavor to them. By the time I finished that, it was time to indulge in the Filet Mignon. I had ordered it on medium, and it was cooked perfectly. This is not something I have often, but this was awesome. The flavor paired with the chimichurri sauce made it an enjoyable entree. I finished off the main course with the Queso De Mano cheese. This was a very flavorful cheese. The last course was the Rum Crème Brulée. It was quite the surprise when the server came with a blowtorch to go over the top of the dessert. This dessert was the ultimate indulgence for me as I don't normally do these types of foods. The experience was so good that we decided to come back a few days later, on January 23, 2026. I would end up getting the same set of items since it was still restaurant week, but we also ordered the Guacamole appetizer since we were there during happy hour. The chips and guacamole were amazingly good. You can tell it was made fresh. My mom got the Picanha Burger this time. I can say she really liked the burger. Overall, these were two excellent experiences during the restaurant week. The food and service were great with no major issues. One thing I want to note is that they do charge a 3.5% fee if you use a card to pay instead of cash. If you're looking for a unique type of steakhouse, this place is absolutely worth checking out.

Both the host and our server were very friendly. The restaurant itself is nice - it has a dark, masculine decor vibe. While I loved the types of chairs they use, I will say their tables for two are very small. They had this little side table type of thing and that was where I had to put my purse and some of the extra dishes to have room. We had the Wyagu Ribeye and the Picahna steak. Both were very good and cooked to perfection. I had the risotto which I didn't feel was cooked right; it had a gummy texture. The Cesar salad was one of the best I've had. I am not sure if their dressing is house made but it was very good and the addition of prosciutto was a nice touch! I also had a Paloma that was very fresh! Now this is supposed to be a steak house and cantina. The decor did give traditional cantina vibes, but the menu did not offer many traditional cantina type foods. If you are looking for cantina style dishes, you may find yourself disappointed. We did do the guacamole though, and it was just OK I'd say. Would I come back? For the steak and salad yes. Otherwise it was a little underwhelming to the price!

We were greeted immediately, seated right away, and our waitress was attentive and friendly throughout the evening. Before ordering, I actually spoke with the owner, Gaston, because I wanted his recommendation for the best steak on the menu. He confidently recommended the Cowboy Ribeye, assuring me that it was one of their signature steaks. I ordered it medium rare with a little char, exactly the way I enjoy it. I also asked if I could substitute the mashed potatoes and broccoli for another side since I don't eat either of those. I was told substitutions were not allowed. For a $60 steak, I found that disappointing. I wasn't asking for anything extravagant--just a different vegetable or a simple side salad. When my steak arrived, it was much smaller than I expected for the price and didn't resemble the Cowboy Ribeye I was anticipating. It was cooked slightly over medium rare, and while it wasn't terrible, the flavor was only average and had a slightly off taste, almost as if the broiler hadn't been cleaned recently. To make matters worse, the mashed potatoes and broccoli I had specifically asked to leave off the plate were served anyway. To be fair, the service was excellent. Our waitress handled everything professionally and even apologized for the sides, explaining the kitchen had plated them before she could stop it. The chicken scallopini ordered by someone else in our party was very good, and the other chicken entrées were also enjoyed. Unfortunately, I came for the steak, and that's where the experience fell well short of expectations. At this price point, I expected a high-quality cut of beef, some flexibility with side dishes, and an overall experience that matched the cost. Instead, it felt like every effort was made to minimize portions and avoid accommodating a simple request. I always try to support local restaurants, and I don't enjoy leaving negative reviews. But when you're paying premium prices, the food should reflect it. Based on my experience, I can't recommend the steaks here.

The ambiance was nice, the open kitchen with the wood fire hearth right at the entrance added a warm cozy feel from the onset. The restaurant was warmly lit but not dark. We were seated immediately in the far left dining area in an elevated booth. After reviewing the menu we settled on the fried deviled eggs and wood fire oysters for starters and the Vincent Vega pizza for dinner. Fried deviled eggs was a first for us and it was so good! The egg white was breaded very lightly and fried and the egg yolk was piped on top with a piece of smoky delicious bacon goodness. It had a nice smoky, bacon-y taste and we devoured them. I only wish you got more than 2 pieces. I think 4 pieces would be better for the price considering it's essentially one egg but I'm not complaining. The wood fire oysters was another hit for us, the serving came with 6 half shell oysters topped with breadcrumbs (light), swimming in butter and fire roasted. I think we ate these even faster than the deviled eggs lol! Would definitely get these again. The pizza also did not disappoint. If you like bacon, mushrooms and creamy Boursin cheese, you'll love this pizza. We added crushed red pepper flakes which added a nice kick. The crust is the star of the show; thin, crispy but still has body and slightly chewy. Yum! That wood fire hearth definitely makes a difference. Overall we had a great experience and will definitely be back! The staff were also very nice and friendly.

For drinks, I kept it simple with a tequila sunset and substituted pineapple juice for orange juice a good drink! Now for the meals. I ordered the lamb chops with mashed potatoes and green beans. I hate to even say this because I had such high hopes, but the lamb chops lacked seasoning for me. I ordered them medium, but they were definitely more medium rare. I love a medium rare ribeye, but not so much with lamb chops. The mashed potatoes and green beans were decent, but overall needed a little more flavor. My husband had the Butcher's Burger with wedges. He said it was a solid burger, slightly overcooked, but still good overall. He did enjoy the different flavor the pork belly added. My daughter ordered the Pasta Pescatore and said it was good, but not necessarily an "oh my goodness, I have to come back for this" type of dish. Overall, because so many people told me I would LOVE The Butcher's Son, I think my expectations were extremely high. The experience and service were excellent, but the food itself didn't completely wow me. It was good, just probably not my first choice for a return visit.

The atmosphere is nice, the food is spectacular, service this time was just ok but not something that would ruin our night. Our waiter was very absent for the most part, it did take a while for us to get our drinks and order; not much check backs for refills and such but overall he was a good server. The food is always amazing, I've never had a negative experience for their food. And the location is nice. The establishment is clean, more on the higher end, we came in dressed to impress for our date but you had a mix of how people were dressed. Down to just your everyday wear. 10/10 recommend

From the moment I arrived, the service was warm, attentive, and made for a wonderful dining experience. I decided to try several items from the **Seasonal Chef Recommendations** menu, and every course was excellent. I started with the Crispy Barbacoa Arancini, followed by the Shanghai Braised Short Ribs, which were incredibly tender, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. I finished the meal with the S'mores dessert, and it was the perfect sweet ending. During my wine tasting, I discovered the Vin Velouté. It was so good that I couldn't leave without taking a bottle home! I was also thrilled to learn that the Watermelon Paloma wine has returned--and even better, it's now a permanent addition to the wine lineup instead of just a seasonal favorite. That was exciting news! This visit truly reminded me why I've enjoyed coming to Cooper's Hawk over the years. Great food, outstanding service, an enjoyable wine tasting, and a wonderful overall experience. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

All 3 of us chose sweet for our wine tasting. Our server was a lot of fun and very knowledgeable about the wine. You get to taste one wine on each category listed on your menu. The samples of each wine are a generous pour. Some Wineries I've visited, do not provide big enough samples to determine if you like them enough to buy a bottle or not. Sweet Red was my favorite. Sweet Red is currently known as Romance Red. It changes names Seasonally. Dinner was outstanding. I had Gnocchi with Roasted Butternut Squash, Wild mushrooms, Sweet onion cream, Spinach, Feta and Crispy onions. It was a very tasty meal. My Great Niece chose the Pork chop and said it was the best she had ever had. My Niece had a Grilled Chicken Caesar Salad which she said was delicious. I had a very enjoyable afternoon with my Nieces. We will definitely return to Cooper's Hawk soon.

Stepping inside feels like taking a step back in time. The Hunt Room is rich with history and timeless charm. One of the enduring local legends is that President Nixon burned some of the Watergate evidence in the massive stone fireplace. Whether the story is true or simply part of the hotel's lore, it certainly adds another layer of intrigue to an already remarkable setting. The staff was welcoming, attentive, and genuinely appreciative of their guests. They go out of their way to make you feel at home and ensure you'll want to return. If you're an Old Fashioned fan, don't miss theirs. It's made with whiskey distilled on-site at the hotel's distillery, and it was one of the best I've had in quite some time. Whether you're looking for a quiet evening, a handcrafted cocktail, or simply a chance to soak in a little Virginia Beach history, The Hunt Room is well worth a visit. If you've never been, you're in for a memorable experience.

It's located in the basement of the historic Cavalier Hotel which is absolutely gorgeous. Valet parking and they charge you $7 and if you pay through the app, it's additional $1.25 service charge. Like they aren't charging you enough for the food, now you have to pay for parking too. Let's not forget the tip for the valet guy too (deserved). The atmosphere is like a man's cave. Dark and like the name, "hunt" decorated. When you enter there are overstuffed leather sofas in front of a fireplace. Tons of photos of animals as well as taxidermy animals. Everything relating to hunting. The place was rather loud with a few large parties. To the point that my guest and I couldn't even hear each other. Once they left, it was nice and quiet, unfortunately, we were about to leave as well. I was told it's best to make a reservation, so I did through open table but I don't think it was needed at the time of our off-peak visit (3.16.2026). Service was great. The waiter kept returning to see if we needed anything and how the food was. It was our first time trying the Oysters Rockefeller ($18 for 6) which is Half Shell Oysters stuffed with a creamy spinach and applewood smoked bacon which were good. At this time, I had nothing to compare them to, but 2 days later, I had them at The Atlantic on Pacific and those were SO MUCH BETTER! A lot cheaper too during happy hour. I had the Filet Mignon ($49) - Garlic and Herb whipped Potatoes, Roasted Broccolini, Tarnished Truth Steak Sauce and Sauteed Mushrooms (I'm allergic to Mushrooms so I had them on the side for my guest to enjoy them). Very good meal. The Tarnished Truth Steak Sauce is so yummy, I could drink it. Complimented the Filet Mignon and the potatoes so well. The broccolini was also delicious. For dessert I got the Smore's Brownie ($10). It was more like a chocolate cake with marshmallow, Caramel and Chocolate Sauce and Vanilla Ice Cream. It was not worth the money or the calories. Pretty tasteless. You need walnuts in a Brownie or it's just chocolate cake. I had gotten a Reuben sandwich ($18) to go and it was very fatty like bacon. Unfortunately, it was a waste of money because more than half of it went in the garbage due to it being so fatty. I felt the place was rather pricey and if you are just dining there, I do feel the valet parking should be free or reimbursed by the restaurant (i.e. take the charge off the bill). I think you can find some more reasonable places and better food nearby.

Stopped by for a burger and a beer to drown in my solitude. Had great service. Prompt, attentive and genuine. Only downside was some pretentious guy named Jeff kept whining about the hostess and the service being "special needs" because he couldn't get his group prompt service under 15 minutes on a special holiday. If it wasn't for some derogative guy whining off the bell about how the service wasn't up to par every couple minutes I'd have enjoyed what would've been quite a depressing day for me. Other than that, burger was damn heavenly. Beer was cold and good. Service was grand. Some people just ruin it for others. Great spot, great burger, good beer and good folks. B.W.

The last time I set foot inside their Pleasure House Rd location was at least 10 years ago. I celebrated my birthday there as my friends were kind enough to take me out. It was a Sunday morning and I sought out a place that offered brunch. I noticed 1608 was open and decided to head over, especially since I haven't visited them in ages. When I walked in, I noticed their dining room is dimly lit - much darker than I remember. I was greeted immediately by a kind hostess and she proceeded to sit me at a nearby table and provided me with menus (one food, one alcohol). I took my time looking over the food menu, and in the meantime I ordered a pint of Center of the Universe's Bald Irishman and a bottle of Boylan's Black Cherry soda (they do not have a soda fountain). What made this visit memorable was that 1608's bartender, Hunter, was an old acquaintance from back in my restaurant days. He spotted me and came over to say hi. After my meal, I continued to catch up with him at the bar. His presence made a pleasant experience even more fantastic. I thought I was hungry, so I ordered 2 dishes - Smoked Ham Fried Rice and the Breakfast Burrito. According to Hunter, every item is made fresh in house. After biting into each, you could tell that's true. Both the fried rice and burrito were delicious and boasted lots of flavor. Although I prefer my fried rice a bit simpler (if you give me just garlic fried rice, I am SET), 1608's fried rice (veggies, garlic, soy, basmati rice, 2 runny eggs, smoked ham) had a lot going on, which made for a flavorful dish. I liked the rice and the burrito (Korean style fried chicken breast, scrambled eggs, cilantro lime, cheddar, pico de gallo) a lot. I didn't finish either because it was a lot of food (I really thought I was hungry, haha). But these leftovers turned into a fantastic dinner later on. 1608 looked clean and organized, although I thought it was a little too dark inside, at least for brunch service. That's not a dealbreaker since everything from the food to the service was as excellent as I remember. I hope to return soon with my mom. Regardless, I'll find my way back eventually. Thank you, 1608 Crafthouse! And great seeing you again, Hunter! JV

P.S: The server and host were attentive and nice, so the low rating is entirely for the food. My bf and I ordered a truffle fries to share, I ordered the Braveheart Ribeye with broccolini and risotto(forgot what flavor but it was cooked in a cream sauce), and my bf ordered the Ribeye Lasagna. The truffle fries: the fries tasted fresh but they looked like the b-dub fries. Comes with ketchup, which I was hoping for some sort of aioli for an upscale chophouse. The Braveheart Ribeye: The temperature was what I asked for(medium rare), but the char is straight up crispy brunt and bitter as if I'm eating charcoal pieces. I also ordered a demi glaze on the side, and that tasted and looked like some McCormick sauce. No demi-glaze flavor and the color is transparent like those powdered gravy packets. The broccolini was bitter. They were tucked under the steak so maybe the brunt from the steak went onto the broccolini... The risotto was creamy but they were undercooked cuz they were still hard. My bf said his Ribeye Lasagna just tasted like a normal lasagna like he couldn't tell the difference of normal beef and the "ribeye meat" that they used, but it was a big size and the sauce was pretty good so he thinks it's worth the money. The creme brulee... I have this tradition with my bf which we will order a creme brulee(if the restaurant provides) during our first visit. I'm no Michelin creme brulee reviewer, but I'd say I tried and made enough creme brulee to identify what a standard and good creme brulee is, and unfortunately this just ain't one. The flame on top is a cool gimmick but it melts the supposedly crispy top to a little too soft (we waited for about 5 mins after the flame was gone before eating it). The texture of the creme was NOT creme brulee but more like flan, when the creme should've been more of a custard/solid but creamy like texture. We were told their creme brulee has a little orangey-taste to it, but the orangey taste just totally covers the flavor of creme brulee. All we could taste was a bitter orange flan. Although my bf likes his lasagna, we both agreed that for this price we would've expected better tasting food. I have no doubt that the ingredients they used were high quality, but this is just not gonna go nowhere when you don't have the right chef to cook them.
