Foley Ranch is kind of a hidden gem tucked away in Desert Ridge. I discovered Foley Ranch during AZ Restaurant Week and am so glad I did! Everything about this place is amazing! The service is great. Super welcoming once you walk in. Servers are all super friendly and full of recommendations for great food, which is where Foley Ranch shines. Ive been back four times and have ordered different items each time. EVERYTHING IS DELICIOUS. The most unexpected items were the fries. If you are a fry connoisseur, you need to try the fries here. Perfectly crispy but still fluffy, with a tasty seasoning. Also, the hush puppies are a must try! The ambiance during our visits is my kind of perfect. Its usually dead inside; like were the only table. One time there was another table. But usually dead. The tables are placed around a giant dance floor with fun lights and a bunch of tv's. I think it's very sad that a person is 86 from a place for doing something he loves, it's very easy to just say no Thankyou! I have danced there for the past year with many different people. If I find a person to be tough with me I just no longer dance with them! Sounds like a simple solution, use your words and use them tactfully and kindly! I think a conversation would be more appropriate over expulsion! I love going to foleys, the staff is friendly and efficient. One thing I do not care much for is the room is not read very well! During a busy time I think after the 1 st music set is completed! The chairs on the dance floor should be removed, when there are a lot of dancers on the floor which is most Friday nights! I always have a great time at Foley Ranch, though I am very upset about Steve in the black shirtless shirt not being there, place is not the same without him. I always really enjoy dancing with him. He is a great member of the dancing community. I can not imagine him being aggressive, he is always very polite and a great dancer. Service was OK this time it seemed like the waitress was very busy with other tables and since we were in the far back, we didn't get notice as much. But other than that good service. I've been looking for a go-to BBQ place in Scottsdale and tonight I found it. Foley Ranch has the tastiest ribs and brisket. Large portions at reasonable prices. I always get my ribs naked( no sauce) so I can taste the rub used and then try the different sauces. These ribs didn't even need sauce ( tho the honey bourbon sauce was excellent) the atmosphere looks very fun with line dancing and live music on n various nights. Dance floor never got to crowded with drunk people. Thought their set list could have been better. Food - 7/10. Brisket and sides were 9/10, good sized portions and good taste, Jalapeño poppers - 3/10 - seeds were left in, and they were too much for me, pork belly 2/10 very tough bites, cut in chunks that were too big for one bite, and it was too tough to pull apart with teeth, wings 9/10 really good, salad was a 1/10 hardly any toppings basically just lettuce (it was pitiful). We've wanted to try this place for awhile being big fans of BBQ and having eaten plenty during our eight years living in Dallas, but unfortunately Foley Ranch turned out to be very disappointing. My wife and I had lunch here during AZ Restaurant Week and ordered the two meat plate with brisket and sausage and the half rack of ribs. Sides of hush puppies and green beans. We started with a wedge salad and sourdough bowl of chili. All the meats were dried out and lacking flavor. The brisket was flavorless and didn't have a smoke ring that I would expect. The ribs were burnt to a crisp, the first bite was full of burnt fat that tasted like meat that had been subjected to flames for way too long and no seasoning. Neither had any real Bar-B-Q taste. The sausage was dry! The green beans were mushy like they had been in the pot a few hours too long. The chili was okay but not great. The hush puppies and wedge were both very good. Unfortunately, overall a sad experience and not what I would call a worthwhile barbecue restaurant. I love atmosphere. They have a great dance floor with live music. It can get pretty crowded, so I suggest making a reservation during the weekends. Large projections for tv but it will have rodeo on most of the time. Service was good just had to flag down are server as it was a busy Saturday night. Food was good. The brisket and ribs are great. I've come when they literally just open the doors and the hush puppies were nice and soft. This time going at dinner time, they were really hard. Almost too hard. Not the best BBQ for the prices. The Ribs were pink and undercooked and could barely chew them. To pay $30 for 2 sausages and coleslaw is a bit steep and didn't do justice. Service associate was very sweet but that's about it. BBQ was nothing to remember. The dessert was also just so-so. read more

We've eaten here three times. It's full of very friendly people who work there, which I appreciate. The first time was awesome, the food was very good and I felt worth the money. The 2nd time we sat at the bar because no tables available, that's on me - I had not made a reservation. That experience was rough, the bartenders were only making drinks for servers, but we had a really nice manager step in and help us. The 3rd time was excellent! Quinn was our server, she was great! Friendly, helpful, took pride in the restaurant, I very much enjoyed my time! We started with jalapeño poppers. Amazing. And then got ribs with hush puppies and chips. Our server, Celeste, was a super super sweetheart. Super attentive and personable. We would go back just to hang out with her. I spoke to the manager on duty Shelby, it shows why the establishment operates the way that it does. My friend and I came here for dancing and had such a weird experience. Don't get me wrong the dancing was a lot of fun. But when we tried to get a water cup, things got strange. We went up to the bartender and asked for one, and she told us to ask our server. We explained that we didn't have one because all the tables were full. She then told us we'd have to pay $1.50 for a water, which is whatever but we also weren't allowed to bring in our own water bottles, so it just didn't make sense. The bartender kept repeating that we needed to talk to a server, so we did and the server still refused to give us a water cup. She insisted we had to buy a bottled water, even though we had already bought shots at the bar and were clearly paying customers. Apparently, a water cup Is sacred in this restaurant ?? The brunette bartender, in particular, was super rude and unprofessional about the whole thing. Like be serious you're hosting dance lessons where people are sweaty and moving nonstop and you're gatekeeping water like it's liquid gold? It is unfortunate that I have to write this as a customer. Myself and other dancers have been consistently visiting Foley every week for almost a year, and the experience has been mostly positive. However, recently, the owners implemented a policy that prohibits customers from obtaining water without purchasing a food or drink item. Previously, anyone who went in could get a free water, especially those of us that go to dance. Most of my friends go to Foley to dance because it's advertised as a place to dance on specific days, not for the food or drinks. Instead of charging a cover fee beyond a certain time or on designated "dance party," days or providing 5-gallon water jugs with small cups like most other bars in Arizona do, Foley has decided to charge $1.50 per small water bottle. This means customers are forced to purchase something just to get water throughout the night or pay $1.50 each time they want water. While there's no law prohibiting refusing water in Arizona, it's morally wrong and unethical, especially when most of the clientele visit Foley to specifically dance on certain nights and it is dangerous in this Arizona heat. The water issue aside, the consistent concern has always been the service and attitude of most of the waitresses and bartenders. This has worsened due to the water policy. They enforce the policy strictly, to the point where they ask the name of your server to verify that you purchased something before giving you a small cup of water. They take this so seriously that when asked to purchase something, they thought we were giving them attitude (which from our perspective was not the case at all) and ignored us the rest of the night which is extremely unprofessional regardless of the situation because we were not being combative or confrontational. You will always have "difficult" customers in a customer service job in which you should still maintain some sort of professionalism as it is your job to do so. It's disheartening that there's so much conversation and disdain for customers because we don't want to pay for water. I saw a similar review where the owner stated that Foley isn't a dance hall, but that's how most of the patrons view it since it's advertised as such on certain days. Regardless, there are other solutions to this continuing problem that seem to not be considered. I used to really enjoy going to Foley and have made many friends there. However, it no longer feels like a relaxing and enjoyable environment. I'm not sure if I'll continue visiting Foley in the future if things do not improve. read more

I love coming to Foley multiple times between Thurs and Saturdays, which is when it is at its best for dancing. I saw the complaints about Sleeveless Steve and needed to comment. Steve is one of the kindest and most helpful dance leads I have met. I started again dancing in October and by dancing with Steve I have received direction and tips on how to improve my skills, at the same time with positive reinforcement. Never has he hurt or been anything but a great lead. Yes, he dances with energy at times, but no more than others and always is watching to make sure no one bumps into each other. On the rare times it has occurred, he feels bad and makes sure everyone is ok. I am sorry to see that someone or others have complained and disappointed that there can't be open communication on this for all parties and a better solution, Foley. Like all businesses, we hear the bad news but not the good, and Steve is part of your good. Please reconsider. read more

Three visits down and love this place! The bartenders are always so kind and easy to talk to, Jessica helped on the most recent visit and she gave great recommendations on the food. Brisket is the best I've had so far in AZ, the dry rub ribs were tasty, I've had the tacos on taco Tuesday before and those were good. My wife's surprise birthday party was a great success. I received a lot of great comments from most of our 62 closest friends. Everyone really liked the food and were very surprised by how nice the outdoor patio was set up and decorated. My son tipped the servers extra, because he said they were on it (went out of their way to serve everyone and made sure people received their drinks).
