Then we split small order of the hot and sour soup - also very tasty. My husband's ordered the seafood Singapore noodle dish. I ordered the eggplant with beef. We asked both dishes to be spicy. All food was made to order nothing had been sitting around. What a nice change in the quality and taste. The chef has great and cooking skills. The service was very attentive,, friendly, and helpful since it was our first time here. I took my daughter out for her birthday to the Folsom Palace because she really wanted good Chinese food. There's a lot of crappy Chinese food out there and we wanted good Chinese food and we got it! We loved the menu, lots of auctions! I was a big fan of the honey walnut prawns, deep fried prawns and the chow mein was excellent. I would suggest that they don't hand you cans of soda rather than pour them in glasses with ice for the price that you're paying for the food here maybe a little bit better service would go a long way? But I'm a big fan and I would definitely go back there when I'm in Folsom to get a good meal! It's a little pricey for sure but you get what you pay for these days and it's just good food. Tasty 4/5 stars based solely on the food ordered. 1. Appetizer: potstickers- soft dough on the outside and flavorful filling on the inside. The dough is on the thicker side but doesn't seem heavy. They're tasty enough that I would order again. I'm use to a thinner dough and more meat as my nana would cook. - main dishes: Peking duck (1/2 order) the whole dish was flavorful and tasty. The skin perfect and crispy. The meat was good, but over cooked. The boa could of been fluffier. Pros: Super fast lunch service, fresh ingredients cooked well, pleasant outdoor seating available, good selection of weekday lunch specials. Cons: Unsure of their low sodium, less oil claims. I'm rounding up to 4*, because of the pros mentioned above (plus for their lunch specials, they offer brown rice for the same price as the other options). I've been coming here for many years, but over the last several, I just haven't been wowed. Today I had the Wor Wonton Noodle Soup. I felt the ingredients were fine, but the broth seemed too salty to me. Perhaps they did use less sodium than other Wonton soups might use, but it surely did not seem to be 'low sodium'. My husband had the Vegetables Deluxe, which included a plethora of fresh vegetables, perfectly cooked, so that they were still pleasantly crunchy. He asked that it be cooked in a spicy sauce, but instead of doing that, they gave him the typical chili oil sauce to add himself. That was hot enough, but very oily. So he couldn't tell if the dish as cooked was oily or not, because he didn't taste it until he'd already added the chili oil. (It looks oily in the photo, but that might be deceptive). This was the first time ordering takeout here. Portion sizes were unexpectedly small for the prices they charged. Ordered Beijing Chicken, Walnut Shrimp, and Seafood combo Hong Style Crispy Pan Fried Noodles. They're not very generous with packaged soy sauce, only got one package for 3 dishes. I requested packaged hot sauce as well but didn't get any at all. Very disappointed overall taste and prices paid! Not too sure if I want to give it a second try for other dishes :( read more

I just want to give a huge shout out to Folsom Palace not only for their yummy food, but their honesty! In a comedy of errors, I left my wallet there last night & didn't notice until this morning. As I ran out of the house this morning I realized that my wallet wasn't in my bag. Of course I was late & after a cursory inspection I had to leave the house for my meeting. Add to the comedy of errors: my phone was on silent & I hadn't looked at the messages. My panic over losing my wallet prevented me from thinking clearly. I did know that I had my wallet when I picked up take out so I headed to Folsom Palace. They had my wallet & had tried to call me as well. There was cash, cards, & much more in my wallet. All intact! Came here around 4pm for "linner" with the 4.0 team! Congrats to making it to Nationals! We came at a time when no one was eating, so we had the whole restaurant to ourselves lol. Menu is extensive, super nice staff, and food was good! I would say food is more on the westernized versions of Chinese food. Regardless, filled our bellies and this will be a special spot for us! We started with the Westlake soup that was incredibly flavorful. Mr. S wanted the calamari appetizer, which was a good choice, served with hot mustard and sweet and sour dipping sauce. The Thai Basil Chow Fun serving was very generous. In fact, it served as our lunch the next day. Although the Peking duck is what we came for, I doubt if we would order it again. The duck was very overcooked, and lacked flavor. it would be difficult to serve duck without being pre-cooked. I really wanted XLB and this place showed up when I googled. I started with that ($11.95) and was told it would be about 20 minutes which was fine. They don't have dinner combos so I splurged and did the hot and sour soup (split $10.95) and the birds nest chef special (shrimp, scallops, "crab", broccoli, celery, bamboo, peppers, etc in a white wine sauce?) For $20 or $21. The soup came out first and was definitely spicy. Would have liked more vinegar to make it sour too. I love the wood ear fungus and would have liked more of that and bamboo, but there was ample chicken and tofu. The xlb came out. I thought the menu said 8, I got 7, the check said 6... so most likely I got an add on which was generous! They serve it with the Chinese black vinegar, which is most excellent. I felt these were frozen but that's okay still tasted good. Then the main course. It was quite full, but I found the sauce a little plain, big scallops I was excited for, but absolutely zero flavor in them. The calamari was okay and the shrimp were good. And then sushi krab (they make it sound like it's real crab on the menu), but i mean, maybe one stick of that. I enjoyed the fried crunchy noodles. And the ample veggies. They didn't come back to check on me and my water glass was empty which was a bummer. I am not from the area and nothing was good enough to make a special trip so I won't be returning. My grandmother was craving Asian cuisine and driving around Folsom city I came upon this cute restaurant where customer service was amazing. My grandmother has a walker and the staff from the door to seating her helped her get seated. The ambiance and environment of the restaurant was very positive. Food was delicious I ordered the combination plate with seschuan kung pao chicken with fried rice and added chicken chow mein. My grandmother ordered cashew chicken with fried rice and chicken chow mein. Added to the meal came hot and sour soup and we also ordered hot tea. The green tea was delicious and we both enjoyed it. We had also ordered an appetizer to go which was the pot stickers. They were also delicious. We ordered take out on Christmas Eve at 4pm with a pick up time of 5pm. Our order wasn't ready until 6:30pm. I understand it was the night before Christmas and they were swamped, so we wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. We decided to order again today on Christmas Day and they said it would be 15 min. When we arrived they had messed up an item in the order and said they could refund us a portion and take the incorrect item or completely reorder but we would have to wait an hour to an hour and a half since they were now busy. I'm sorry but we should not have to wait that long for an order they messed up. I spoke with a few different employees who didn't seem to care. I had lunch here for the first time and was very satisfied with the experience. The restaurant itself is clean and nicely furnished. The waiter was friendly and the food came out quickly. The Hot and Sour soup was among the best I've ever had, and the pork pot stickers were very good (a bit more "sear" on the dumplings would have been ideal) - complimented by the uniquely flavorful dipping sauce. Spent a day in Folsom checking out the outlets and found this place by chance. We ordered the combination chow mein, combination fried rice and sweet and sour chicken along with crab cream cheese rangoons. Everything was absolutely delicious and the portions were very generous.
