The two workers there were both so passionate about the cuisine and created a friendly ambiance. Beef bone wintermelon broth was so amazing, we drank so many bowls and kept asking for refills! Foods were also so enjoyable. Was an amazing meal that warmed us up in the cold night!

First time here! The broth are amazing. The owner is super friendly. He helped us a lot during the dinner.

Right across the street from Monroe and a bunch of strip clubs, Fondue Chinoise is a very unassuming Chinese hot pot restaurant with massive red wooden doors. We went pretty late around 8 pm and there was still 3 other parties in front of us waiting to get seated. I will say the service was extremely slow here. We saw so many tables open for all of the waiting groups and then some but there were so few people working the hall that the clean up was slow and they just didn't have the bandwidth to seat us. We repeatedly had to ask for things that we had ordered and they were often getting tables mixed up with orders. We ended up waiting almost 30 mins to get seated and then more to start eating. Till the end of the meal we were never given cups for water (they had pitchers at each table) and they also didn't refill a lot of the ingredients in the sauce bar. I don't think it was bad service though, our guy only talked to us in Chinese and we were just communicating via vibes but he was able to get us what we needed when we asked. It was just hard to get a hold of anyone to begin with The tomato broth here was super yummy. It wasn't overly oily like other hot pot places and it was a good mix of tomato flavour and the rich broth. Overall the ingredients were pretty fresh and meat quality was pretty good.

Don't let the restaurant name fool you, this is the most authentic Chongqing hotpot you'll find in SF. They have great broths (my favorites are the pork bone and spicy sichuan), and their meats and vegetables are fresh. Their fried rice, pig blood rice cake, and brown sugar sticky rice cakes are really good. The owner is also sweet and friendly. Would recommend for an authentic hotpot experience!

Absolutely incredible- best hot pot I have had in a long time! The ingredients are so fresh and flavorful, and there is a very wide selection on the menu! We had the 2 soups, mushroom and beef bone broth and both were so rich and had deep flavor! The service is amazing, and they helped us order a really good combination and the perfect amount. Really made our day- definitely will be back!

    强烈推荐麻辣牛肉切片!牛肉片很入味 然后土豆片熟的很快也很入味 炒饭也推荐

I highly recommend the Spicy Beef Slices! They are so flavorful. The potato slices also cook quickly and soak up all the sauce perfectly. The fried rice is another must-try. The owner is super welcoming, and the bingfen (ice jelly) features real rose and osmanthus--the floral aroma is incredible!"

A decent hotpot spot, with 3 different types of spice levels for the mala hotpot broth. There's a variety of dishes to choose from - including some very authentic Chinese dishes and drinks also! Service was alright, it takes a while to get their attention, but they always give you complimentary dessert at the end which is a nice touch Overall a nice ambience but is a bit costly and there are better AYCE places for value, but Fondue Chinoise is a good place for mala hotpot broth.

I literally always thought this place did Fondue from the name! Finally visited after looking for hotpot in Chinatown, and they do not do AYCE. I think at the end of the day the prices are a bit steep, but the interior decor and service are nice! I liked the pork bone broth more than the tomato.

Pretty good hotpot for a decent price! Went late night with a group of friends (around 9pm) and it was fairly empty. We got seated without a wait and were able to order quickly as well. We split the tomato and pork bone broth and both were good! Lots of sauces available. Really liked the oyster and sesame sauces. Their chili oil has a big kick to it! We ordered a variety of hot pot ingredients, but I enjoyed the fried dough sticks (youtiao) and fried rice the most (although it's quite oily; it has great flavor though). Everything else was pretty standard for hotpot. All the food came out very fast and staff were very friendly and accommodating. Would recommend if you're looking for a solid hotpot spot in the area :)

I had an absolutely wonderful dining experience at this hotpot restaurant. The staff were attentive and friendly, and I really appreciated the little touches . It's a great place to enjoy a delicious meal with friends or family. Highly recommended!

The rice was perfectly oiled and crispy and the sausage was delicious Mapo spaghetti: I normally don't go for fusion dishes like this but this dish was surprisingly very yummy. A little too salty though if I were to be picky XO escargot: the XO sauce was delicious with the milk bread that it comes with. Steamed cod: this was one of the specials of the day and I'm glad we ordered it! The fish was very soft and light. Overall, great experience, yummy food, but not sure if it's worth the wait!

I loved that the restaurant teleports you to 90s Hong Kong from the posters to tunes. It's not the biggest restaurant so it feels a little tight and a line forms quickly out the door. Food was consistently ok and salty. We ordered the fried squab, black bean clams, green beans, etc. Portions run on the smaller side but the price goes in the other direction. Next time I'm around, you'll find me at R&G Lounge which is the uncontested king and a much more authentic showing of Cantonese food.

There were two locations, one looks more authentic and the one we were at was the more modern one. From the outside you think it's super small but it has two floors. It was hosed busy and had to find where the desk was. I told them we had reservations and we were a bit late so they weenie and took us in. They really like someone to confirm as they will call and email you multiple times. The inside is super nice, the bar it to the the right and it's pretty cozy on the top floor. We were seated downstairs in a cute little nook. It was so nice and moody downstairs. We had pre ordered the whole Peking duck, ordered the beef chowmein, and pot stickers. The pot stickers were interesting as they were shaped like, well I'll let you see for yourselves. The duck was good but it was missing something, like heat spiciness. The skin was on crispy and golden brown! It was delicious. It comes with these wanton wrappers and you can ask for some hot sauce, which added an additional layer to the duck. The chowmein was delicious as it was perfectly seasoned and just the right amount noodles and beef. We ordered some saparros but I was so full I couldn't finish! Over all the check with tip came to about $180 for three people which is awesome cause I was expecting to pay a lot more. Bucket list scratched off!

DIM SUM! 4.8…read more An ending to our wonderful three-day weekend getaway was made even better with the discovery of Harborview for dim sum. We have our favorite dim sum spot in the South Bay, but we had yet to find a favorite in San Francisco, until now. There's a very famous one in the City where we used to dine, but our last visit left us disappointed. So, we had our fingers crossed for Harborview. Conveniently located in Embarcadero 4, Harborview is next to the Hyatt Regency, just steps from Embarcadero Plaza and directly across the street from the Ferry Building. If you're stopping by for the bar only, and yes, they have Happy Hour (Tuesday-Friday, 4:00-7:00pm), enter from the second floor. There are escalators and an elevator inside the Embarcadero 4 building, which are also convenient options if you're unable to navigate the circular staircase leading to the dining room. The main dining room entrance is on the first floor, with the courtyard facing Drumm Street. After checking in, you'll be guided upstairs to your table. We had made reservations, so our wait was minimal. When our table for two was ready, we made our way through the bustling main dining room to the outdoor patio in the back. Every table was shaded by an array of large, tan umbrellas, making the patio especially inviting on such a beautiful day. When it comes to dim sum, we tend to order the same familiar dishes. We do this intentionally, mainly so we can compare how each restaurant interprets these classic favorites. We ordered: * Baked BBQ pork buns with crunchy sugar crust ~ This is their signature dish, and it was delectable. Michelin Bib Gourmand recipient Tim Ho Wan in Hong Kong makes the benchmark version of this style of bun, but Harborview serves up a very tasty one of its own. * Shrimp har gow dumplings ~ Delicious, with that satisfying, delicate crunch of shrimp when cooked just right. * Glutinous rice and assorted meat wrapped in lotus leaf ~ Well-seasoned, fragrant and wonderfully moist. * Jellyfish cold plate ~ If a restaurant has this on the menu, I'm ordering it. Harborview prepares it beautifully, with just the right amount of spicy kick and that irresistible, crunchy texture that makes jellyfish so enjoyable, somewhat reminiscent of wood ear mushrooms. * Steamed chicken feet with black bean sauce ~ Exceptionally savory and tender. My favorite preparation includes slices of fresh green jalapeño, whereas this version came with red chili peppers. It still had plenty of flavor and heat. * Barbecued pork rice flour rolls * Black truffle & Kurobuta pork dumplings ~ Din Tai Fung still holds the title for my favorite XLBs, but these were a tasty rendition. Overall, every dish was very good. The restaurant was packed and clearly in full swing, yet the service remained attentive and efficient. Plenty of servers were circulating throughout the dining area, so whenever we needed something, it arrived almost immediately. With the gorgeous weather, dining on the patio was the perfect choice. It was noticeably quieter than the bustling interior, and the views added another layer of enjoyment to the meal. I think we may have just found our new favorite dim sum spot in San Francisco.

The view wasn't as nice, and plus they built pickle ball courts in the open field.
