This is the Frost museum cafe, which is open to the public. We headed here on the recommendation from the staff at the Perez Art Museum, where the cafe is only dine in and not particularly kid friendly, so I appreciated having this other option. The food was overpriced and took its time coming out. We ate on the open, covered patio just outside of the cafe. My arepa was tasteless and rubbery. My kids disliked the chicken tenders. The ice cream was either dippin dots or tiny paletas. The s'mores brownie was highly disappointing: an overpriced dry brownie with a marshmallow melted on top. While the staff was kind (thank you!), this cafe is a missed opportunity. This could be a great opportunity for an extension of the museum mission, focusing on food source, food science, or nutrition education, but instead, it is just the only option available. I don't mind paying for overpriced food in a theme park because you pay for the locale, but here, there wasn't any charming locale and nothing even present about the science museum itself, which I've never visited. You had me as a captive audience during lunch hour, but missed the opportunity to share about your main product: the science museum. read more

The prices are high but given you're downtown and in a museum they're not awful. You can order in an app and get a text when your food is done. Can order ahead and get there when the text arrives to maximize your time at the museum. They have the basics for kids at adult portions so if you have two little ones they could definitely share. The chicken mac and cheese with bacon was delicious, the tenders and fries were very good. You get three tenders in the order. The shoe string fries were perfect. Drinks are from their Starbucks shop so they have refreshers and coffee. Empanadas, dippin dots ice cream and more. This is the Frost museum café . I have eaten at a lot of museum restaurants through the years. Some really try to elevate the food like 4Roots Café at the Orlando Science Center and some just try to get your money by serving anything because they know they are holding you hostage. This place falls somewhere in between. They have a Starbucks and I stopped in for a quick caffeine pick me up before out planetarium show which was just steps away. They had some interesting looking fruit popsicles. The restaurant menu includes salads, fries, macaroni and cheese, burgers, tacos, hot dogs, chicken tenders, pizza, and quesadillas. Vegetarians can get a Beyond Burger. They have a cooler with drinks so you can grab and go. Prices are kind of high here and there are a million great restaurants in Miami so if you have transportation I recommend eating outside the museum as we did, Food at Science was perfect however for grabbing a cup of coffee and sitting down inside the air conditioning for a few minutes rest. They also have a lovely outdoor patio seating overlooking Maurice A Ferré Park. read more

This is the restaurant at the Frost Science Museum and it's your typical museum restaurant. They don't have a ton of options and it's your basic pizza, chicken tenders, burgers, fries, soup, etc. They have Ice cream as well. It took a long time for the food to be ready and my kids were getting impatient. We let them have ice cream with definitely helped the situation. The fries were good and the portion of tomato soup was above average. It was a little spicy, though. You might not want to order the soup for your kids if they don't like spicy foods. The staff was friendly. If you are going to eat at the museum, this is your only option. It wasn't bad for the circumstances. read more

Located on the first floor of the science center, Food at Science is a decent, quick lunch option if you don't want to leave the premise. They are also open to the public, if you work nearby and were in the mood for a bite here. Service was friendly and our order came out in a decent amount of time. You order at the counter, take a number, and your food gets brought to you. Seating is available inside or outside. Ordered the kid's grilled cheese and chicken tenders with a side of fries. The chicken tenders were more like chicken bites, so I suggest ordering the larger size if you are sharing. The chicken was juicy, but the breading often came off after taking a bite. Fries (an extra $3) were nice and crispy, and not oily. C enjoyed his grilled cheese, which was pretty cheesy. Restrooms were located in the back of the restaurant. When you spend a long day at the museum it's nice to have a food option. This place was great because they offer ordering ahead plus Starbucks coffee. The outdoor seating is a nice addition to the inside tables. The only downside is that because it's the only option at the museum the prices are a little high. My son and I split the tenders and fries which were decent and we also had the avocado fries which I really enjoyed. read more

Food@Science is located inside the Phillip & Patricia Frost Museum of Science on the ground level. Because we wanted to make the most of our time at the museum, we decided to eat lunch here instead of finding someplace near our hotel. Aside from the high airport-like prices, it was pretty good! ATMOSPHERE: Place your order at the counter as you enter and the food is delivered to your table. The inside was clean and bright with lots of seats. Outdoor seating is available too, most with covered protection. MENU: Salads, grain bowls, burgers, hot dogs, sandwiches, pizza, chicken, coffee beverages, sundae. FOOD: Tuna Salad Melt - $12.00 I couldn't believe how tasty this was. Was it from the tomato's sweetness? Was it from the cheese and tuna combo? All three? I loved every bit of it, along with the sub sandwich-like bread that was crunchy and moist. A generous helping of chips dusted in I believe ranch powder came with the sandwich. Pricey but totally worth it, plus it was a big portion. Highly recommended! Tater Tots - $4.00 Had I known my sandwich came with chips, I wouldn't have gotten this. But, when are tater tots ever a bad decision? These tasty buggers were deep-fried and naturally a tad oily. Perhaps baking them would've been a better option. SERVICE: The order takers were welcoming and friendly. Food service took about 10 minutes at opening time. TIP: No fountain soda was available, only bottled. OVERALL: Our total bill including a $6 Grilled Cheese, Pepsi and juice not mentioned above came out to a steep $32. At least everything was fresh and tasty. read more

You might need science, to explain how this place can legally call what is served there "food." They're products that can be tossed into a Susie Homemaker convection oven. They resemble food. Yet, the broccoli cheddar soups, with the ice-cold centers, both of them, were miserable. We took them back. Lukewarm Mac and cheese? Very fifth-rate sauce? Gross enough that even a tween M&C fan, who eats with slightly less regard for culinary hygiene than a junkyard dog, wouldn't touch it. The pizza, just sub Chucky Cheese, for quality, was enough that we didn't have to wander over to the Bayside to go eat. I hear that the Perez Museum, next door, still has a decent cafe. It's a shame. Pre-Covid, they had some decent offerings. Today? Perhaps dark matter absorbed the kitchen. Rod Serling would lament: We're getting food from another dimension. Food was good but obviously overpriced just like most museum cafes. I will say this one was one of the better I've been to due to the options. My wife and I shared a beyond burger and fries which was plenty for both of us to snack on. Service was good people were friendly and patient with us. Tried salmon poke bowl (light on salmon but decent, esp for this low price ), Miami spice rice and chicken bowl was much better. Kids Chicken was good. I ordered the seared shrimp tacos and street corn. The corn was fine, except I wish I was allowed to garnish it to my liking. It didn't have much Parmesan cheese. I was quite disappointed with the seared shrimp tacos. First, they were definitely not seared AT ALL. Second, it was on flour tortilla (wonderful when you can't eat gluten). I had taken it to go so I wasn't able to address these issues in person. Flavor was alright but definitely on the bland side. Additionally, the lady taking my order never mentioned that there would be any changes made to my order. Very, very disappointing. Very nice cafe inside the Frost Science Museum. I felt like it was very reasonably priced for being inside an attraction. Usually food in those types of places is way overpriced. I ordered the 3 pork mojo tacos with plantain chips for $9. It was a good portion and yummy. My friend got the Cuban sandwich and he said it was very good. Order at the counter and the deliver the drinks and food to you. They use paper straws - environmentally friendly! Love it! read more

For something inviting kids to learn the prices certainly are not kid friendly and food is very sub par. Food traps that have a captive audience usually overcharge but if they do, I don't mind as much if the quality is there. That is certainly not the case here. It's low quality and high price that's why it gets one star. When I wished I had left and ate somewhere else and then came back that's a 1 star establishment. Pizza is like cheap freezer pizza. The frost burger, though they make it sound spectacular is a dry patty on a bun with lettuce tomato and pickles. The amount of veggies on the burger is adequate so I'll credit them for that. The burger is pretty dry and tasteless. The bowl was alright, fries were fries. Everything grossly overpriced. read more

This place exceeded my expectations.... Hearty salads (shoutout to the perfect Caesar salad dressing), juicy smash burgers, create-it-yourself bowls and a kids menu that could make adults envious! More on the expensive side but it is to be expected for it being downtown but with a member's discount it is worth it , the food is good , they ran out of full size pizza when I went , they usually do when its packed. A cup of water is free and the member discount is 10% . I recommend you go for a full size pizza instead. Also all kids menu items come with either chips or fruit. read more
