    Food 4 Less at night
    Ron L.

There's something about this store, With the aisles going in the opposite direction. Who designed this? It's weird. Products nicely slopped all over the dirty floors. When's the last time this place got a good cleaning? I always feel like I'm going to get mugged when I walk into this place. Then having to bag your own groceries, while employees just standing at end of conveyer belt gawking at you with a vacant expression. And don't touch anything near the registers or the belts. Something might crawl on you and go home with you. Oooh, and bring a big book to read since the lines are long and gridlocked like the 10 freeway at 8 a.m. rush hour. Absolutely no sense of urgency. I don't know. I guess a misfit nasty dirty looking store. Maybe every agency that has to do with the food industry should be called to inspect the store 100%.

Line going almost to the back of the store.

Once again these place has no sense of urgency when it comes to the lines..... always long lines going to the back of the store. Employees wasting time and acting like DMV employees. Only reason I come here and not El super is because the fruit is better, other than that nothing else. If one cashier gets stuck on something all the other cashiers stall trying to help, I don't know why there isn't a front manager dealing with the line. My milk spoiled while waiting 20 plus minutes just to check out!

I've been going to this food 4 less since I was 7. I used to like going to this place but it's pretty ghetto now compared to its competitors such as stater bros. I go here sometimes. The thing I don't like about this place now is that the lines get out of control at times and they seem to be understaffed. Meaning they do not have another associate or two or three to open up a register to help the lines go down. Instead they do nothing and the wait time for the lines is just long and absurd and crazy. On the contrary the some of their things here are cheap. Like their candy.

The center itself is a big shopping hub with plenty of parking. it's always bustling, but I swear, no matter how busy, you can always find a spot just maybe a little walk from the front. It's been a couple months since my last visit, and wow, they've added a fantastic new section right as you walk in on the right-hand side. Now, they have a cozy coffee and breakfast area! They brew fresh coffee and serve breakfast sandwiches from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. The prices looked super reasonable, like breakfast burritos or a cheese sandwich and I can't wait to try them, though sadly, I got there in the evening, so it was already closed. Next time, for sure! Of course, Sprouts is known for its fresh sushi, bakery, and their custom sandwiches. they really do a sandwich bar better than a certain big chain (cough, Subway). The price is about $5.99 or $6.99 with chips and water so it's a steal. My only gripe? They used to have this pesto sauce( my absolute favorite) and chipotle, honey mustard and it's gone! Now it's just mayo or mustard, which is a bit of a bummer. Management, if you're reading this, bring back pesto! Despite that, it's still a crowd-pleaser, always a line for those sandwiches, and for good reason. One thing I'm not a fan of is their fresh meat section. it's nice, but always overpriced. Whether it's chicken, salmon, or beef, I just can't justify it. Trader Joe's has better variety for less. On the bright side, their fresh produce is always top-notch, big sections, tons of snacks, vitamins, and even a great soap bar selection (I always grab a few). I got a roast beef sandwich on whole wheat it was divine and some fresh prepared salad and salmon for later. Plus, they have at least eight self-checkouts so helpful when it gets busy. They take all major credit cards, and I love that they have both big and small carts the smaller one makes navigating those aisles a breeze. All in all, a fun stop, and I'll be back. just, please, bring back pesto sauce for sandwiches!!

Hot food bar area is always stocked, and everything is nicely cleaned and organized from the produce section to all of the fridge items and cooking goods. Got some packaged super greens for my bearded dragon here and they have mustard and collard greens and the bundles aren't horribly ginormous like other places. Nice servable portions especially if only a lizard is eating it (you get to choose though so don't worry). Like the parking, it gets busy here, but workers are friendly and efficient.

I can't believe I haven't written a review for Tokyo Central yet, though I've stopped by here…read moredozens of times - my go to is their sushi tray options! They have the BEST tasting salmon sushi/sashimi all around, at this price point, even better salmon quality compared to nearby sushi restaurants in my opinion. (Our Japanese native friend also agrees.) Best part is - 20% off after 7 pm!!!! But the trays get snatched up quickly. Too bad I'm not around the area at that time, otherwise I'd make Tokyo Central my weekly run for dinner. Their Kimchi Tako Poke is another regular we get, it's so good. However, recently, the only option I saw was the Shoyu Tako Poke - and I didn't like this version one bit - too hard and the flavor is not to my liking. Will never get it again. The hot food area has quite a decent selection, priced and weight by the pound, self-served. Often around 3-4pm, you may see 20% discounted packaged hot food placed out, whatever that's leftover from the lunch rush hour. Tried it a few times, but felt most of the food is heavily dosed in MSG, so I'd be selective on what I get. They also have sashimi party trays which require pre-order. Great pricing for the quality and convenience. Overall, love their sushi selection, and it's a regular stop for us. As for the market itself, there's not as much to buy, and pricing is on the higher end. However, they have a larger selection of some products that I can't find elsewhere, and sometimes their advertised specials are decently priced.

My favorite #1: Their eggs have golden yellow yolks, which you won't find in most supermarkets. My favorite #2: their baked teriyaki eels; you can make Eel Rice for the a small family with one package, usually between $25-35 but sometimes on sale for under $20. My favorite #3: their thick sliced bread (厚片土司) - each slice is about twice as thick as ordinary sliced break; very gratifying when they pop out of the toaster! They also have a huge selection of ready-made food from bento boxes to sushi. A great place for busy working people to get easy meal solutions!
