This is exactly the kind of Southern Breakfast that I was looking for with classic favorites like biscuits & gravy, smoked sausage, pancakes, shrimp & cheesy grits, omelets, and more. Price: Biscuits literally start at $1 and a short stack of pancakes is only $2.50. This is the most reasonably priced breakfast place that I've found. Quality: Their breakfast reminds me of the breakfasts that I used to have at my grandma's house growing up. Not fancy but just straight up delicious. And for the price, can't be beat. First timers at the Foothill Grill. We have been talking for a while about trying this place, so on a Saturday morning we took the drive and really enjoyed it. The staff are very friendly and provided great service. Lots of variety on the menu. Very rustic decor. I ordered the french toast, and didn't realize it was coated with powdered sugar (and had a-lot of cinnamon in the mix, which aren't my favorites, i should have asked ahead of time...oops!) - therefore my sweet hubby switched with me so i had his pancakes! :) Oh!!! The potatoes were my favorite!!! Yum!! Took a giant cinnamon roll home on the way out! Parking is a bit tight, get there early. :) Glad we went, enjoyed it! read more

I'm from the city and decided to go out for a joy ride in the mountains. After about 2 hours, I googled "Breakfast near me" and Foothill Grill popped up. I'm so glad it did and I'm glad I stopped by. This is absolutely country cooking so don't expect gourmet. With that said, I had the Tony Sandwich with sausage and it was great! All the food I saw come out of the kitchen looked yummy. The staff, all women, were friendly, sweet, and full of smiles. At 10:30am on a Sunday, the place was packed and I'm not surprised. I'm sure I'll be back soon. read more

While we were in Dahlonega we stayed at a resort that didn't offer breakfast, so we drove into town and found the Foothill Grill. We had a great homestyle breakfast here. Service was fantastic too. It could stand a bit of updating and remodel; or at least a deep clean. read more

Pancakes! Definitely try the pancakes! I chose this place to eat because I was craving breakfast food and saw that they served breakfast all day! I mean if you only eat breakfast for breakfast, then you're not living life on the edge! They offer different types of pancakes, but I went with the original to satisfy my craving and they were everything I needed them to be! I also ordered your standard breakfast plate to pair with them: scrambled eggs, grits, bacon, and a biscuit. And, I can't forget a nice cup of coffee. Everything tasted great except the coffee (that's the only reason why I didn't give 5 stars). It just didn't taste good. I don't know how to describe it other than that. But still worth checking out if you are in the area. Just be sure to check their hours, because they close earlier than a lot of other places. read more

There were a couple of things that caused me not to give a higher review. I ordered the French toast and while it was good, it was slightly overdone. My friends said the coffee was not good. So disappointed! Hubby and I stopped here, as we always do when we are in the area. Unfortunately, the food was served COLD after 30 minutes of waiting (and there were very few other patrons). In the past, it has always been crowded. The fries were not good at all (even when they replaced the cold ones). Plus my baked potato was lukewarm, at best. The hamburgers were still good, despite being a little too cool for our liking. The saving grace was the pleasant attitude of the wait staff! They were so kind and helpful. When our bill came, we realized that we had been charged for a drink we didn't order, but they did remove the charge quickly and with a pleasant attitude. I would try this place again because we have always enjoyed it in the past. Perhaps they had an issue with kitchen workers today or just had a bad day. So, 3 stars are for the burgers and the staff, otherwise it would be a 1 star visit today. read more

The parking is rather tight, and the building looks like it needs a renovation, but once inside, we were greeted and told to seat ourselves. Menus were already on the table, and our server got drinks out very quickly. After we had a few minutes to read over the menu, hubby ordered a hamburger. BTW, those come with two sides, so he got fries and fried okra. I ordered the blackened grilled chicken, along with green beans and fried okra. My meal also included hush puppies. Hubby very much liked his burger and sides. I thought mine was really, really good, overall. The price was great, as was the service.
