Before the procedure, we fully disclosed her serious medical conditions, including severe IBS, malabsorption, and immune-related complications that make repeat surgeries and anesthesia especially difficult and risky for her. After the extractions, we discovered that alveolar ridge preservation (bone grafting) was not performed. When we later asked why this critical step had been omitted, we were not given a clear explanation. We have since consulted other dental professionals who advised us that, because too much time has passed, attempting the procedure now may no longer be effective. What is most troubling is that we were never informed beforehand that bone grafting would not be done, nor were we advised about the potential consequences such as accelerated bone loss and limitations for future dental restoration options. Had we known, we would have made different decisions regarding treatment. As a result, my wife may now require additional surgical procedures that she may not be medically able to tolerate. This situation has caused significant physical pain, emotional distress, treatment delays, and financial burden. We are sharing this experience so that other patients -- especially those with complex medical conditions -- understand the importance of asking detailed questions about treatment planning, bone preservation, and post-extraction care before proceeding with major dental procedures.
