This place has some quick vegetarian options. I took out a couple of bowls. Fiesta bowl was my favorite. I added roasted tempeh to it. That was a good addition. Thai bowl was really good as well. I've been a loyal customer of Forage Kitchen and often order through delivery, but my experience today (October 12, around 2:10 PM) was very disappointing. My husband and I both ordered meals with added chicken, but neither came with any chicken at all. When I called to address the issue, the person who answered immediately told me we didn't order chicken -- then checked and confirmed that we actually did. What was most upsetting wasn't just the missing food, but the way the situation was handled. There was no apology, acknowledgment of the mistake, or effort to make things right. Instead, the employee tried to minimize the issue by saying only one meal had chicken, when both did. We were really looking forward to our meals, and as regular, kind, and understanding customers, it's disappointing to see such poor customer service. Mistakes happen -- that's understandable -- but how they're handled matters. I truly hope Forage takes this feedback seriously and reminds staff that customer care is key to maintaining loyal guests. read more

After taking a recent exam nearby, I stopped by for lunch. I have always passed by this place, but never gone in. The staff lets you know that they can always add more of an item. But there will be an up charge if you do want extra of any item. There are tuna poke was so tasty. The ginger mayonnaise gives it a certain some thing. It is a pretty small location, but it's perfect for those that are stopping in to pick up or on the go. It is a delicious lunch spot for those that are in that area. Fantastic location on the West Side. It has a class to it and is easy for lunches, though the line can get long as this place is popular! Most of the bowls are big enough and have enough food for two people, especially if you add a protein. I love the seating and the outdoor space when available. Overall, if you can order ahead, I recommend doing so and the food itself is fantastic. Shout out to the Cultured Cobb, Cashew Bowl, Fiesta Bowl, or Avocado Crunch. They never disappoint. It was my first time here, and there was a massive line (came here during prime lunch time). There was only 1 person working the food service section, and the register (and also online orders). The Forage employee was not flustered or rude, but rather very seemingly pleasant! The restaurant is a fast casual restaurant, and very clean! The food was also fresh and tasty. I ordered the Thai Bowl with roasted chicken (an additional charge for the protein), which had a Thai pesto sauce, roasted broccoli, sweet potatoes, and grains. So happy one of these opened in Middleton, which is closer to me. I frequently visited Forage when I lived near Hilldale and it's always a great spot to get a healthy salad/bowl. I have yet to dine in here but have gotten DoorDash and pick up a few times and have no complaints about the quality of food or the quickness of the service. Forage favorites I've gotten include the Buddha Bowl, Power Bowl, and Thai Bowl. They also have a rewards program for frequent visitors where you can earn points toward a free bowl! read more

To start food was great just a specific bad experience I had. 1. The whitefish ceviche that came with my bowl had a few pieces of inedible bone or cartilage in it. Not something I'd hold against them as I'm sure it just arrives pre made. 2. The gentleman who made my bowl accidentally let the stem of the avocado fall in when he was slicing it. He seemed fairly new so it didn't bother me but it was a bit troublesome since this was the second inedible thing I found in my bowl. 3. There was at least two hairs in my food again matching the gentleman who made it for me. This coupled with the previous missteps just soured an experience I was very excited for beforehand. They can lose several customers this way and lead to disappointed people leaving reviews like this! I came all the way here and see this! Luckily , the guest in front of me paid for my meal and I just paid him cash . He was also annoyed bc he had cash as well, but also had back up payments in his car.
