My friend and I ordered pickup from here since we are still on a stay at home order. Overall we had a decent experience - not the worst but not the best. Food - Don't get me wrong, the Gyro I had was amazing!!! I can't say the same for the fries.. Honestly I tried one and didn't eat any more because they were bland. But if you are into that you'd probably enjoy them. Service - The food was prepared quickly, but unfortunately they forgot to give us the drinks we paid for.. We didn't notice until we got home, but we didn't bother to call since we didn't feel like driving back to get them.

Horrible I mean beyond horrible...tastes like they fried it in rubbing alcohol....sooooooo pissed

HORRIBLE I repeat HORRIBLE! Never felt to slighted in my life involving takeout food. I stopped and ordered a gyro and falafel a hour ago. I got home and started to dig into the scrumptious smelling falafel and my tongue was immediately hit with the God aweful taste of either rubbing alcohol, fermented mouse droppings or some other taste that should not be on anyone's food. Whatever they fried my falafel in was obviously not supposed to be in there because I broke it apart and the inside tasted fine. My gyro was as basic as it gets from the place that claims to have the betb gyro in the city. You have no idea how bad I wanted to go back to the shop and curse out the owown in front all the customers he is scamming. I kind of felt someone was odd about him when I went in and could 5ell he didn't want to serve me anything but I shrugged it off. DO NOT ODER FROM HERE TRUST ME Update: just called the owner and he implied I did something to the food on my way home LMAO what a joke...then he says we'll the grease we use is old ... Well obviously it is along with something else your not admitting ‍

My colleagues and I had the immense privilege of visiting a hot local spot tonight: Forbes Gyro. Upon entering, I already knew we were in for a special treat. The décor inside was simple, but it was clear the restaurant was kept clean. The seating arrangements were aged like fine wine, and it was evident that they had been used often, indicating the location's popularity. We were greeted with a beaming smile from the location's proud owner, Jacob. He gleefully took our orders, and was quick to offer his pen when mine ran out of ink. That's just the kind of guy Jacob is. You know when you eat at Forbes Gyro that you're getting that famous Oakland hospitality that attracts students from all over the world. One issue that arose amongst my associates was the notable absence of individual slices of pizza on the menu, but you know what they say: never order pizza in a gyro place. Either way, the menu was somewhat unclear, and even lead to some confusion amongst the group as to what was offered. I ended up opting for the classic lamb gyro, which arrived in a timely manner. My gyro was wrapped in a soft warm pita, and was filled with the delectable combination of juicy lamb, fresh lettuce, sliced tomatoes, and just a pinch of onions. Drizzled throughout the gyro was what one can only assume to be homemade tzatziki sauce. The lamb was tender and well-seasoned. I was enjoying my experience until I opted to sample my colleague's fries. Much to my chagrin, the fries were rather bland as initially served. When paired with the authentic Greek salt offered at each table, the quality of the side dish improved significantly. All-in-all, Forbes Gyro was an unforgettable experience. My 45-minute expedition to the land of the Mediterranean ended abruptly when I stepped back out onto the mean streets of Oakland. Whether you are study the trends of the DOW, or spend your days examining the works of da Vinci, Forbes Gyro has just a little something for everyone.

Good gyros at a good price. After passing by this place everyday, I finally decided to go in and try it with a friend. We were surprised to find that the food tasted much better than the restaurant's decor suggested. I had the chicken gyro with pita. The meat was tasty, lettuce crunchy, and sauce was dripping on the table (sorry). The portions are also quite large (especially for the price) and I was VERY full by the time we finished.

One of the best gyro around south o people!! I was hesitant going into bc of some reviews, but the quality of this place proved them all wrong. The people who work there first of all are so kind. And the gyros are to die!! No meat overload to the point where it's too much, but they don't skimp either and the lamb is crisp and juicy. Pita is top quality, they also make them super quick and have to put in no time. Just the right amount of sauce too, and you just can't beat the price either. I was never a big Mediterranean/Greek eater before, but Forbes Gyro confirmed my love for the gyro scene!!

If you want your gyro on a pita make sure to ask for it.

The food wasn't anything special but it tasted okay and the people were very nice and the order was very quick to come.

Even though it was late we were greeted with exceptional customer service and were seated at a table. Our waiter, Remi with an I and not a Y was absolutely fabulous. He made great suggestions and the food did not disappoint. I ordered the 16 inch pepperoni with bacon. My daughter ordered the pepperoni roll and my wife ordered the meatballs and 2 Bianca slices. My wife's name is also Bianca so a double bonus. Our food came out about 15 minutes later and everything was piping hot. To my surprise the pepperoni came with the real bacon strips on top and not your average bacon bits. The sourdough is top notch as well. I ate 6 of the 8 slices while my daughter ate two along with her pepperoni roll. My daughter enjoyed her roll but did wish it had more cheese. My wife enjoyed her meatballs. They give you 4 and are a decent size. She was only able to eat 3. The Bianca slice is a healthy thick slice. Overall, we enjoyed our time at Driftwood. The service was OUTSTANDING (Remi). The food was good. We ended up staying 20 minutes past closing and didn't notice any change in customer service. This place is definitely worth a shot.

What I loved was the crust - it had some chew and some tug; there was a little bit of char on the outside and the bottom. The meatballs were delicious and that sauce! The vodka sauce was perfect. I would have thought I would have missed the standard cheese on a pizza but the ricotta was super good. I placed my order on their website and it was easy; I was able to pay using my Apple Pay, which was a plus. We arrived and it was ready but we stood talking to the men in the shop and they were so kind. They asked us questions about us when they learned we had, recently, moved here. As a new Yorker, it's so very hard to impress me when it comes to Pizza! I'm the pickiest! A true pizza snob! But this place was well worth all the hype! Underrated if you ask me! We were told there would be a wait, but our pizza was ready right when they said it would be. The staff was also extremely friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. Parking was a little tricky because of the location, but it was definitely worth it! The standout feature of this pizza for me was the flavor of the cheese (especially when paired with onions) that combination was easily my favorite part. They use a very generous, thick layer of cheese, which creates a rich and indulgent pizza. The cheese is quite oily and can slide off the crust, so personally the amount of cheese and oil was a little heavier than my usual preference. However, the chewy crust holds up well to the toppings, and there was still something really addictive about the overall flavor and texture of that cheese. One thing that surprised me was how good it was the next day when eaten cold. I actually prefer this pizza cold. The cheese and onions complemented each other even more, and the pizza felt a little less oily while allowing the flavors to shine even more. Overall, this is definitely a top-tier pizza place in the area. If you enjoy a flavorful, cheesy pizza with a great chewy crust, I would absolutely recommend giving it a try!

This shop will cook your pizza half cooked, as a lot of people like. We like ours well done cooked even longer than maybe the traditional cook time so we always request that. When my son went to pick up our pizza it was already sitting on the counter it had not been 15 since minutes since the order was placed. When he grabbed the box it was kinda wet on the bottom of box so we don't know if they set it on the counter on top of something ,but it was more than just extra sauce and onions that made the soggy like they assumed. We tried to recook it and when we took the pizza out of the box all the cardboard inside of the box was wet like something had been literally poured inside the box. I could barely get it out because it was so soggy it was falling apart. We live less than 5 minutes driving time so it was not from steam and cooking it more once we got home did not help it was that wet.. I have never seen pizza that soggy. I had my son call and they did not offer anything except advice on not to order onions or extra sauce when its humid out. We would have like a re-cooked pizza and to return the one we had especially since we had company. It was too wet to pick up a slice and inedible. So, if the owners see this maybe they'd like to somehow rectify it because now I have to start my grill to feed my company. Furthermore, if a customer orders extra sauce and onions on a pizza that.we are asking to be cooked well done an your only job is to cook pizza, you should advise the customer that it won't be crisp. We've ordered it that way before.. and as I said this was far beyond just soggy it was literally wet..and the 2 that ventured to eat it ,now have a stomach ache. It was most certainly undercooked and so wet it couldn't even be rebaked.
