Doing a lot of FOREPLAY today

Excellent stop to cool off after wandering the Saturday Sacramento Midtown Market! SITREP Located right on K Street a block down from the Midtown Market's main channel up & down 20th Street, ForePlay is a fun stop that is full of LOTS of distractions of fun and drink to escape the heat. THE SETUP It would be imprecise to call ForePlay just an arade because it also brings in some of the fun carnie elements you'd catch at a State Fair. One of the more eclectic elements is the axe-throwing range! Tons o' fun. FULL BAR The most beneficial aspect of this stop was the full bar, which - after a couple of hours of heat in the sun while wandering the Midtown Market stalls - was a wonderful treat. Coool beer! There is random parking along the streets and some rare off-street parking lots, but limited parking during events. THE LOWDOWN This is a great stop from to duck into from the heat, or for groups making the rounds. I enjoyed watching a bridal shower when I was here!

First time here the vibes are immaculate, and I love the place! The people are friendly the bartender is helpful and the pool tables are fun

    Drinks

Jonathan made such great drinks even though he was down a bartender and was the only one there. Great vibes and will be back!

Snacks at the bar and lots of fun activities ! Great staff and clean space ! Perfect for dates and group gatherings. The velvet room can be rented at $200 an hour. There's so much to do that I'd recommend this to anyone looking to get out and try different activities in one place. Found this spot while we were in town to kill time in the evening. They had good drinks and a variety of games to play. Great for dates. It can get busy after 9-10pm on a weekend. But staff were quick and super nice. We chose to play pool $20/hr because the area is a little more private and we can play without bumping into people. The couches were cute, however, the chairs were a little dusty. Probably needs some attention there. And you'll need small bills to get quarters for the arcade games

We were the only ones there on a Sunday afternoon, which was nice in a way because we had the coach and space to ourselves. We opted for the Standard, which was $26.98/person for 45 minutes. Throw first and pay at the end. First, we scanned a QR code and signed an online waiver. Then, the coach explained the rules and provided demos of how to throw with one hand and both hands behind and over the head. He was very friendly and provided tips and tricks throughout our session to improve our aim. Despite using a hatchet, which is meant for one hand, I thought it was too heavy so I had to use both hands. If you have enough arm strength, one hand is better because you can line up the axe with the target, which helps improve your aim. It was definitely harder than it looked and felt like a full body workout! The axe handles and targets looked a little run down. In addition, there were a lot of wood chips on the ground and I almost got some splinters. Side notes: 1.) 10-minute walk from Colma BART station 2.) Bathrooms available in the hallway outside. *Verdict: Unique activity for a date or hangout with family & friends

Since it wasn't busy, our group of 3 was able to play simultaneously. While the ambiance is slightly lacking with it being super cold and brightly lit with gym lighting, the experience was really enjoyable. Our host was nice enough to lend us a tripod as we were trying to record some of our games! Also as the last group of the night, we got to try the large heavy axes. My advice would be to dress comfortably and expect some light strain on your back and arms. The place is sort of tucked in the martial arts building and at night does not look so welcoming. But there are decent sized lot right outside. With our student emails, we also got a discount during payment at the end.

I have the best girlfriend ever! We were supposed to do a rage room while we were in Vegas, but…read moresince we didn't get a chance to do it, she surprised me and planned one for us in Sacramento instead. This was such a fun experience! Obviously, with something like this, you have to sign a waiver before getting started. The guy at the front desk was really nice and patient with me while I was busy taking pictures instead of signing my waiver . They provided us with jumpsuits, masks, and gloves before we went in. The smashing area was a lot smaller than I expected. I thought it would be an actual room, but it was more like an enclosed area surrounded by wooden walls with a tarp over us to help keep all the debris and glass contained. Before we started, the guy explained everything, went over our options, and made sure we knew what we were doing. We had about 20 minutes to let loose and smash everything in sight! We smashed glass bottles, coffee cups and even a windshield. They also gave us different things to smash everything with, and we even got to use a paint gun. My girl and I had a lot of laughs doing this. It was definitely something different for a date, and I'm glad she planned it for us. Sometimes it just feels good to break some stuff! One piece of advice: WEAR OLD SHOES! Wear something you don't care about or wouldn't mind throwing away. By the time you're finished, you've been walking around on a lot of broken glass and debris. I definitely didn't want to track any glass into my car or house, so afterward I put my shoes in a bag. Overall, this was a really fun experience and a great date idea. We had 20 minutes to smash some stuff, laugh together, and make another memory. I would definitely recommend trying a rage room at least once!

When you book online, it comes out to $22pp. We thoroughly enjoyed smashing everything. You don't need anymore time than 20mins honestly. I recommend coming fully clothed with long sleeves and pants on. If you're planning on going somewhere after, I suggest bringing a change of clothes. You will leave with small shards of glass in your clothing. I also recommend bringing extra clothing because their suits are hot and heavy. & I'm pretty positive they don't clean or spray down any of their protective gear in between customers. I only wore their headgear, and the helmet hasn't even touched my face. I was stunned. I literally said, "Whoa, I can smell the last person that wore this." Yes, you do not smell cleaning solution on their gear or when you walk in. So I imagine their suits aren't being cleaned either. Right after I said that he "reassured" me that they clean the gear. If I ever decide to come back I'll make sure to use my spray I always carry with me. I was so caught up in the moment I didn't think to go grab my disinfectant. Now I'm stuck with a cough.

Sawdust in my hair, zero regrets…read more We came for the ax throwing and stayed for the vibes. Get Axed in Roseville is a wild, well-run good time -- think beer-pong-energy targets, tic-tac-toe projection games, and enough illuminated targets to keep everyone entertained between throws. The staff are friendly, informative, and actually helpful with coaching throws and explaining the games, which made the whole experience way less intimidating. You can order cocktails (solid pours) and snacks -- another party got a stack of pizzas from Costco and the place handled it like pros. Bathrooms were huge and spotless, which is always a relief. The space is cozy and wooden, so yes, bring your sense of adventure. I left with sawdust in my hair and a grin. Photos attached show the games and the menu -- great spot for a rowdy date night or group hang. Go with friends, wear something you don't mind getting a little rustic, and have fun. 1) Axe lane and illuminated targets -- bring your A-game. 2) Tic-tac-toe projection -- more competitive than it looks. 3) "GET AXED" beer menu -- drink options for every palate.

Follow Get Axed Roseville on Facebook or Instagram: @getaxedroseville There is no cover charge to dance. Locally established line dance instructor Jen Michele teaches 3 dances over the course of 2 hours, and dances are called in between lessons. She will call out the steps for the first couple walls for the easier dances. The floor is not wood. The dance floor space is an odd shape: a small square area in front of the DJ then overflow into the walkway from the front door to the first axe-throwing lane. I would say it's the shape of a key or the state of Oklahoma. You won't always be able to see the instructor, so you will have to listen carefully to the steps, copy the surrounding line dancers, or wait for her to move closer to you to demo. After 9 PM, you can make song requests to the DJ to get your favorite line dances called. You'll need to provide the name of the song to the DJ because he's not a line dancer. If you fear a zombie apocalypse, there are 9 reservable lanes to hone your axe throwing. Each lane comes with its own reserved table. There are 12 digital axe-throwing games. This would make for a fun night out with friends. The rate is currently $10 per person per half hour. You can reserve for 30, 60, 90, or 120 minutes. There is a rate discount for 2 hours ($35 per person). You can also find Groupon deals to save money. You can also purchase Membership Passes (5 hours for $80, 10 hours for $140). You can also book 2 hour parties for a minimum of 15 people at $20 per person. Get Axed Roseville has a new game room with 4 pool tables, darts, a bocce ball court, shuffleboard, and a terraball table. In addition, there are 18 TVs. Thursday nights at 7 PM is Trivia Night. There is no cost to participate. Maximum of 6 players per team. Axe throwing is only $20 per person for two hours. Get Axed has a 4 page menu of alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks. The menu changes monthly. Great selection and variety at affordable prices. I like how the beer menu is organized into different flavor profiles, such as Nutty, Fruity, Sour, Roasted, or Malt. Beer and beverages (i.e., soda, nonalcoholic beer, energy drinks, Starbucks, sparkling water, iced tea, coconut water, Gatorade) come in cans or bottles. You can also purchase various bags of potato chip flavors there. For a fun and affordable afternoon or evening activity with friends, check out Get Axed in Roseville. Music was blaring through the speakers and they offer baseball bats or golf clubs or axes to smash with...its pretty cool You also have eye protection and gloves...I would recommend BRING YOUR OWN GLOVES. I also would recommend wear some type of hoody or jeans that you can change out of immediatley following because little shards of glass will be left all over. Next time I would choose a more expensive package. The one thing I will say is that after 10 minutes the guy came in and said "Just checking in" and we had already broken everything a few times over. 10 minutes is a LONG time for the cheap package. So we told him we were done and he said "no problem." It wasnt until the drive home when I realized that he was checking in at 10 minutes to see if we wanted to buy additional things to break...but he didnt say anything about that...if he was a salesperson and said "Hey guys checking in, what can i get you guys maybe a windshield, maybe a TV for $20? let me add some stuff for a discount since you two are rocking it!" I probably would have bought a lot of stuff. But this employee didnt try to sell me anything so we just left. Overall still great experience and 5 stars...I am just mentioning this for the management team and also for you guys if you choose to go, maybe choose the cheap package and ask if you can add on things as you break stuff.
