I didn't realize they had full breakfast here. Thought it was just donuts. It's so much more! The breakfast burritos are delicious and the omelettes are light and fluffy and full of flavor. Love the cronuts also. Thought cest la vie in Laguna was only place for them. Turns out this place has been excellent cronuts and donuts in general. Very poor business practices, it's the only local donut shop near me and it is a shame. Have been and on and off customer since before covid and Menu prices have been wrong on several occasions or flat out not posted, along with the fact they were not giving out receipts or like now the receipt is not itemized it's impossible to tell what you paid for an item. Example from today I bought 3 donuts listed at $1.60 and was charged $6.10 when I asked the cashier i was told it was $1.80 each now, which still leaves an unexplained.70 cent charge which is more than what the sales tax would be. The business comes off as very dishonest and untrustworthy. read more

What a delightful place. I ate there on Thursday with my sister and we were both amazed at how good the food was. I am 60 so it has been a very long time since I had French toast that was as good if not better than what my grandmother used to make when I was a little boy. My sister had an omelette that was big and juicy and loaded with ham and eggs she said. We also met the whole family which owns the place. The decor is fun with funky chandeliers all overhead. They also make wonderful doughnuts. The Forest cafe is what I would say Mexican American style food. Highly recommend you eat there. read more

Stopped by for a veggie omelette. It was very delicious. Came with a side of potatoes and homemade salsa. I highly recommend their food! They have a lot to offer and You won't be disappointed!! 10/10. The great thing too is that they're not only a cafe because they got donuts too. So after a breakfast meal... why not treat yourself. The store also makes their own handmade tortillas for their tacos! I didn't try them yet but I will for sure next time. I'm sure they will taste great! Awesome place to come. I stop here every time (2days) I have work in Lake Forest or Laguna. If I lived there I'd come more lol.

Food was 2.5-stars. Wanted a simple eggs/potatoes breakfast. It was 1 PM, don't know if that made a difference but she said it's served until closing. I ordered SOFT scrambled eggs and pot. and toast & bacon - $10.95. I emphasized and described the eggs in great detail: VERY soft & shiny/creamy. And could her cook DO that? She replied yes, they could. The first plate, before even touching it, I could plainly see the eggs were hard-cooked and told her so. WHY do cooks have a prob. with this??? She took the plate back after I reiterated what I wanted. When she brought it back, it was no different except I could see a little bit of OIL put on top make it look "shiny". Apparently their method is to spread out a thin layer of raw egg (I suspect they buy the pre-homogenized (in the carton)) eggs and spread it out on the grill, flip it over and then she cut it into squares. You CANNOT make soft-scrambled eggs that way. Omg - so I gave in. The salty bacon was the thin, pressed-flat kind, cooked hours earlier. The potatoes were "okay", grilled chunks of red potatoes but too highly seasoned for me. The piece of "toast" was clearly "toasted" on the grill. Tasted like a used grill - thank Gawd no one before me ordered fish. This looks to be much more of a donut place and I don't recommend this place for eggs and bacon. Maybe their burrito is much better; I'll never know. I think the gal at the register was named "Daisy" and she was VERY nice and smiling a lot to anyone that came in. read more

This place is absolutely horrible. Not only were they out of absolutely everything by 8:30?? on their menu but it took like 30 minutes to make a bagel and burrito at least when the place was empty. Also over priced for how shit the place is. Needless to say I will never come here again, wish I could leave zero stars cause this place sucks. They even said our food was almost ready then a few minutes later came out saying they didn't even have the bagel that they originally said was all they had.
