Now a days, it isn't very often that you find compassion in a service center. Most are centered on how much they can over charge for services. However Carlos showed demonstrated that kindness and compassion are still alive and well at Forest Glen BP. I live on the Eastern Shore but work here in Silver Spring and don't know this area very well. Last Friday after work, I was preparing to head home (almost 100 miles away) when I noticed that I had a screw in my back tire and the tire was almost completely flat. I was able to reach the closest station from my job, Forest Glen BP. Carlos politely indicated that there were several customers ahead of me and that there would be at least a 30 min wait for him to be able to look at my tire. I waited for less than 20 mins for Carlos to bring my car into the bay and less than 10 mins for him to pull the screw and plug the tire. When I asked how much I owed him, he handed the screw to me and stated "No charge, you were willing to wait." When I asked if there was anything I could do to repay his kindness, he replied "Please take a moment to go to our website and let us know how you would rate our service." If your vehicle has an issue - I strongly suggest that you stop by to see Carlos, and Henry. These guys are honest and work with you to resolve your vehicle's issues. I can name countless times these guys went above and beyond to help me out. One time my truck wouldn't start, so I borrowed my son's car to stop by the shop to ask about towing. Carlos immediately lent me a jump pack and said try this, and bring it back with your truck to diagnose the issue. (Who does that?) Another time a rear suspension part rusted out on my truck and left a nearly 20 year old bolt still bolted to the frame. Carlos looked at it and said that he could remove it with no problem. "You'll have your truck back this afternoon". When you enter the office, you will typically meet Carlos. He's a great guy and a good listener who works with you to resolve your vehicle's issue. First, as another reviewer mentioned, the Forest Glen BP station is now under new management (the old owner was a woman named Kathy). The new manager is a young man named Amman. I had the FG BP do some work on a 2004 Toyota Highlander that had been in storage for a few years. I found their customer service good, the work was done in a timely way, and the car is now road-worthy. I am not a mechanic, and I could not tell you if the cost for the work was high or low (I mean, how do you comparison shop for such a thing?), but in discussing the work to be done on it, I would say that I am confident I was not talked into doing anything unnecessary. Later, I purchased a 2012 Toyota RAV4 from Carmax. I asked Amman at the FG BP to check it out the next day so I could be certain it had not been in an accident or had any hidden problems. He did this free of charge. The FG BP is keen to build clientele in the neighborhood. I will certainly be giving them my business. read more

I've had work done on two older cars there and the service was great. I would recommend them to anyone, especially people who live nearby. The auto repair manager, Herberth, is very good. A few months ago, I acquired a 2006 Scion that needed brake work to pass Maryland inspection. I got estimates from two places. BP was half the price of Wheaton Firestone. So I went with the lower cost shop (BP) and they did a great job. A few months later, the car wouldn't start, so I got AAA to tow it there for free. It just needed a tune-up, which included new spark plugs. They made that car feel brand new. My 2007 Mazda pickup truck had been damaged by squirrels who chewed the engine harness wiring. On 3/26/18, the entire power steering system went out on my Buick as I was starting a 10 hour drive to the Midwest! My friends recommended the guys at Forest Glen BP whom they've trusted for repairs. They were outstanding!!! Knowing I had a time issue, Herberth, Carlos & the rest of the staff diagnosed & completed the job in a little over 24 hours - my own Buick dealer would've taken weeks ( trust me, they have!). I have taken my car in to be repaired here many times for repairs minor and major. The work is always very well done and in a timely manor. It is my local spot and a great part of the community. I have yet to be disappointed. The workers, particularly Carlos, are always warm and friendly. You will be treated like a regular.
