I have loved Foretti's 8-9 times, but on Saturday of 4th of July weekend we received an order that made us sick. Violently sick. We ordered through doordash (allow grubhub, DD is awful, SEAL THE BAG) we received healthy salmon pasta and a side of mushrooms and potato's. My wife and I split everything -- it tasted heavy with white pepper and a intense bitterness that made us think of unwashed arugala, we finished about 1/3rd if the serving before giving up it was just too nasty tasting. A few mushrooms that also coated our tounges in a weird tingly feeling. 2 hours later, we were violently ill. Both throwing up. Both with cramps for the next 12 hours. I can't imagine what they did to this food but on 4th of July weekend cooks are slammed and stressed but Foretti's was the ONE store we agree'd might still make food right on a busy holiday weekend. Came here with friends from out of town. We all enjoyed a bottle of wine, two appetizers although I can only recall one- tomato mozzerella salad but it was tasty. We ordered a variety of different entrees but hands down those of us who ordered the butternut squash ravioli and the ragu really enjoyed our meals the most. Next time, I want to try their pizza. The restaurant is clean and airy. The staff is professional yet friendly. Ample street parking right in front or 1-2 blocks in front of or past it. They also have a lot. Prices were reasonable. First impressions seem to carry a lot of weight and speaking of this we were not impressed. I could not tell you how the food or ambiance was because we left. The hostess seemed distracted, her conversation with another female employee seemed more interesting than myself and another couple waiting to be acknowledged. Parking was a nightmare. Again, it took more than five minutes to be acknowledged so that we can be directed to the parking lot down the street. My husband and I visited Foretti's for our 1 year anniversary dinner and it did not disappoint! For starters, there was complimentary bread and pesto sauce. I knew right away that I wanted to try the lobster ravioli - it was amazing! We were torn on what else to order and our server recommended the pappardelle lamb ragu. It's probably not something I would've ordered on my own, but I'm so glad she mentioned it because it was fantastic! The flavors and textures of the sauces, pastas, and meats were perfect. The leftover lamb ragu was still good re-heated the next day. It's in a great location that had plenty of evening street parking during the week and the open air atmosphere was nice. Service was kind and professional, but not as bubbly as you typically see. She could've been tired or just, not fake. Lol. Would recommend Foretti's to others and return in the future! read more

I got the Pappardelle Lamb Ragu (Tender lamb of the bone on thick pasta) my wife got the Cacio e Pepe with shrimp (linguini in light sauce with large shrimps) grated parmesan on top.. both dishes were delicious and flavorful. Prices were reasonable for big portion and quality. Service was excellent, from host, to server, to bussers. Inside dining area was clean but slightly tight as far as the tables were situated but ambiance was casual and relaxed. A new favorite Italian restaurant along with Bello a few blocks away. I first read about Foretti's from Brad A. Johnson, a food critic of 20+ years. He raved about their wood fire neapolitan pizzas (their pizza oven was flown straight from Italy) and house made pasta, amongst a few other dishes. On a whim, we decided we wanted to try them out on a Sunday evening. While on the way, I was quickly able to make reservations on Open Table for indoor seating (though they have a covered cozy looking outdoor patio as well). Inside is charming and feels a little bit like dining in the city as the restaurant's front windows greet PCH. I immediately noticed a large party celebrating a birthday, which showed me this spot lends to a good time. After speaking with our fabulous waitress Monica, she mentioned their primary customers are locals. Summer is when they get more tourists. Quickly after sitting down we were given focaccia and a pesto dip to get our appetite going while we looked over the menu. We were pleasantly overwhelmed with menu choices and with Monica's help we ordered fried olives and a Cesar salad with whole anchovies on top for our appetizer. Haven't had a Cesar like it! For our dishes we ordered their Salsiccia (housemade wild boar sausage, wild mushrooms, manchego, mozzarella) and Baked Ziti. The pizza crust was just divine and the house made chili oil to pair with it even better. Service was attentive and excellent through and through with all hands on deck. Hands down the best pasta I have every had. This place was perfect and me and my girlfriend will be coming back to celebrate our 2 year anniversary in April. I ordered the Meatball Pizza and the Short Rip Fresh Pasta. For the short rib pasta, the noodles were WIDE. Nice and big, tatsy, soft, but not too soft, cooked to perfection. The meat and sauce were so rich and full of flavor. The sauce was THICK but not chunky. 10/10 The pizza was cooked in a high temperature oven. It wasn't as exceptional as the pasta but still pretty great. The crust was thin, the cheese tasted fresh, and the meatballs were nice and tender. 8/10. For dessert, me and my girlfriend shared a romantic strawberry sorbet and spoon fed each other. Very sweet, tasty, sharable. 10/10 My girlfriend ordered the lemon salmon pasta. Not my cup of tea but she is lactose intolerant and it is very rare that we go to italian restraunts. Most places cook everything in butter and put cheese everywhere. He stomach is EXTREMLY sensitive. I am happy to report this based the picky girlfriend test. I had a taste too and though it was good. But since this dish, and similar dishes on their menu, allowed us to enjoy italian cuisine together, I rate it a 10/10. (Flavor wise I'd give it an 8/10). read more

This place is very cozy but very loud (depending on the group of ppl I'm assuming) it was very busy on a Friday night but the service was very efficient. I was a little disappointed in my Italian Margarita, I thought it was going to taste a little more lemony or perhaps bubbly but it didn't; it tasted like a plain margarita minus the salt. My bf loved the lamb rack (it wasn't on the menu by the way). The filet mignon was really good but even though I asked for medium it was a little too under cooked for me For our anniversary we got a scoop of strawberry sorbet with a candle, it was very cute and it was very delicious. First Time: Such great food wow everything we had was to die for, our server Chanel was phenomenal. Came in for the first time Friday night for dinner with three friends and Chanel made our experience the best it could possibly be she was super on top of it and got everything we ordered quickly, accurately, and with a smile. The charcuterie board we got was one of the best I've ever had and my chicken Caesar salad was delicious. Definitely found a new favorite Italian restaurant in CDM. I wrote that review years ago and since then I have become an approximate 2 day a week regular customer. EVERYTHING on the menu is absolutely delicious, my go to pastas that I order every time are the Short Rib Fresh pasta, the Orecchiette, and the Cacio e Pepe. The heirloom tomato carpaccio is my go to appetizer, but if I'm feeling something else the calamari is excellent as well. Great Wine selection, they make wonderful dirty martinis, and all of the servers and staff are the BEST. This is by far my favorite italian restaurant I've ever been to much less been a regular at. 10/10 Recommend coming here for any occasion. read more
