I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of fish here. I wasn't expecting too much from this place because I've only had good sushi in Seattle so far and I have tasted really good sushi in Japan. I got the salmon belly and surf clam sashimi and blue fin tuna nigiri. They were very delicious and tasted fresh and it didn't have the ocean after taste. The salmon belly especially was the best part of my meal so I highly recommend that. I did have a couple of fish bones in my sashimi but it is fish so I didn't think it was a big deal. Just don't inhale your food. Lol I also got the Aloha roll which was good. It is spicy and it used chili sauce as you would dip with egg rolls or lumpia so it was interesting but good. The baked mussels were yummy. And the stuffed oysters were good but okay. I can imagine people would enjoy it better than me. The service was fantastic. Pretty busy...we were seated after about a five minute wait. The menu has lots to choose from. I went with the chicken karrage, super cali roll, another roll with crab, jalapeno and seared salmon, and cucumber salad. The sushi rolls were mediocre. Did not care for the butane taste on the seared salmon. The chicken karaage was more like tempura chicken bites. I had ordered hot tea, but it never came. Service was a bit slow. While I was waiting for my food to come I was excited about what I had ordered...and was thinking that it would be great to come back and try more, but overall...I am not sure that I would come back and I do feel like it was kind of expensive for what it really was. This is one of my go to sushi spots when I have the craving (other spot is Trappers but they are overpriced). The customer service is always great, younger kids working here but they never are rude or have attitudes. Food can be hit or miss, sometimes they are stocked with a lot on the belt other times you have a more scarce selection but you can order rolls as well. I like the area and the inside of the place is nice for a table of people or just one/two at the belt. And the prices!!!!! You cannot beat the prices here. read more

Interesting place. We are sushi fanatics, and have had everything from the best Japanese restaurants in Seattle, to Safeway sushi. If you truly love good sushi, this might not be worth the stop. There isn't much dedication to flavors, food products used, presentation, or freshness of food. The food was pretty gross, floors of restaurant sticky and covered with food. Some of the appetizers we got off the belt was cold, or fish was warm, could have been riding around the conveyor since the morning time, who knows lol. But hey, some people really love the place. I HIGHLY recommend trying Trappers all you can eat sushi, have been going here for 10+ years. You pay equivalent to what you would pay here, for much higher quality food and overall experience! Sushi is fresher than most sushi go rounds. When we got there, we had the option to sit at the bar or wait for a table. We waited about 20 minutes for a table. We ordered two special sushi's for my daughter... thinking it meant two small plates. They ended up giving us two large orders. They have other items on their menu, including bulgogi. Overall...it was good but extremely overpriced. We paid $90 for the three of us. They have a menu with their prices but nothing really posted. Rotating sushi belt sounds like my dream. The staff were kind, attentive, and helped answer any questions. The food was good (not great) and the sushi seemed inventive. I enjoyed all of the options as did my husband. The sushi was refreshed often and people seemed happy. We enjoyed the music and the atmosphere which was definitely casual but super friendly. I cannot wait to come back and blow my 8 year olds socks off! He will love the general idea of the restaurant. I tried a variety of the sushi including many of the forms including crab salad. I did get one of the "high dollar" plates that included snow crab but did find some shell in my roll which sort of ruined my groove. Holy Ponzu Batman. I spy with my little eyes the sushi place of my dreams. My husband and I have grown quite fond of revolving sushi bars, but this one takes the cake. We're new to the area and hadn't driven this far out from home yet. Praying it would be worth the wait, we were in awe when we arrived. For one, the prices are incredible. For two, the quality exceeds expectations. For three the quantity makes it even better. The amount of sushi you get on a conveyer plate for the price is amazing. You're literally sacrificing nothing. We were quickly greeted and seated at the sushi bar. We feared with it being a weekend night and an hour before close, that our options there may be limited. Again, we were taken aback, not by just what was available at this hour, but the variety they also had. We've lived in cities where fish is plentiful and the sushi options are dismal. This restaurant offers super quality fish, non-redundant rolls, and even fish specials! We ordered solely off of the conveyor. This place is unique in the fact that if you are craving a particular roll or nigiri, all you have to do is ask. Or if a menu tag rolls by and it's all taken, they'll quickly refill it upon asking. This is also the first sushi conveyor we've been to that offers desserts, and a great selection at that! Cakes, Macarons, dessert shooters, and cheesecakes. They even have mini apps that are super fresh and tasty. We grabbed the tempura fried shrimp (3pc) and for it to have made a couple rounds on the belt, was still light and crisp and fresh. We also ordered bacon wrapped asparagus which was delicious, as well. We chose several different types of salmon, rainbow rolls, puyallup roll, and the tuna tartare - literally one of the best flavors of the night. It comes with a spicy ponzu sauce that is out of this world. AND THEY'LL PUT IT ON ANYTHING YOU WANT. There doesn't seem to be very many conveyor belt sushi restaurants in my area. However, this one is in downtown puyallup, near the mall. I made the drive and decided to give it a shot. They had a wide range of variety, and lots of dessert options as well. They had raw, cooked, fried, and fancy rolls on the belt. It was nice to get to try a little bit of everything. You can also order full rolls from the chefs behind the bar. The sushi itself tasted fine, nothing special. But it was really good for the conveyor belt style. The service was good. My family and I went here last week. The outside of the restaurant was clearly marked, parking was easy. Once inside the prepped food on the japanese style conveyor was awesome. It was so hard to decide. Fortunately for us, the portions were perfectly sized so we could try everything from the specialty rolls, the basic rolls, appetizers and on to desserts. My kids also tried an order of the teriyaki hibachi style chicken which was also very good. The service was attentive enough and neither too much nor too little. The ambiance was just fine and the mood was pretty upbeat in there and it was nice to see friends and families around us enjoying their meals like we were. I was looking for a quick lunch grab while I was in the area, reviews looked great, so I thought that I would try it. My experience on the food did not compare with reviews that I had read. My main issues; the rice, not sure what type of rice it was, but it was the largest rice kernels that I have ever seen in nigiri or a roll and it was glutenous and gummy. In my "signature" roll the salmon was fine, but the nori that was in the reverse roll (mango on the outside, rice, nori and then the salmon) was very soft and obviously made well in advance (thin supermarket sushi late at night). If you want to go for the convey experience go for it, but from my experience don't expect the food to get you to come back. read more

Things are different here now during this COVID time. The conveyer belt is used for the signs of what sushi they offer with the description of it. There is a paper menu where you mark what you want to order, so they prepare the sushi when you order it. They aren't really spacing people out, which I'm sure they wouldn't get much business then if they did since it's not that big of a restaurant. The booths were all filled and also people sitting in the chairs in the areas in front of the conveyer belt. So you're definitely not 6 ft away from other people; you're basically sitting back-to-back to them. Staff is friendly. Service is pretty quick, except I did think they had forgotten my Deep-Fried Oysters at first because they didn't bring it out until we were almost halfway through the rest of our food. I enjoyed my Spider Roll. Wasn't bad for $5.95. I usually have to order this everywhere I go. The Salmon Skin Hand Roll was good, but too much of the eel sauce or whatever sauce that is...made it too sweet. And the Yummy Yummy "Korean Fried Chicken Wings" sounded yummy, but was not really. Now its forever going to be here where I need it to be (: The interior is much more Asian-like compared to sushi land. The employees were very friendly! As I expected, the conveyor belt is still here! I really hope this place is good! I need me some good sushi close to home. The fish definitely looks fresh and the prices look worthy. So I just tried the Tuna Nigiri ($3). It was yummy. Not my favorite though. The Albacore... Nigiri ($2.50) is so..... (chews for a bit) is so good! For a conveyor belt place! I love it. Albacore Nigiri just makes any sushi restaurant better!(: Time for the Salmon Nigiri ($2.50). I usually do not like Salmon unless it is in a roll but wow. This salmon made me stop and think for a second. Pretty dang good. Almost ties with my love for Albacore. I just had the rainbow roll(: usually don't go for it but it was fresh! Tasted great. I wanted to try one more type of Nigiri but there's none coming my way. I will definitely be coming back in a few days(: I have really wanted to try sake at a restaurant before! The place looks dirty. They use plastic plates but look worn out and very oily even they should be clean. They have sushis revolving and they also dont taste fresh. The Yakisoba we ordered was mixed with chicken but the chicken were like left over from a teriyaki chicken that was not claim. :) It is obvious it was previously cooked. If I could give this dump 0 stars, I would. We have been coming here occasionally since we moved to the area nearly two years ago. The service and cleanliness has gotten increasingly worse as time has gone by. Tonight we went to dine in and the restaurant was disgusting. Our feet were sticking to the floor and we were sat at a table that had not been wiped down. We had to ask the man serving to wipe down the booth, as there was old food everywhere. He did so, but had a blatant attitude about it. Also, he kept walking away whenever we tried asking for anything. This establishment has had paper menus the entire time we were patrons. When we asked him for the paper menus, he refused and told us they hadn't had them for "two years", which was a lie, as we were there 4 weeks ago. He brought us three waters, a Diet Coke that I didn't take one sip from and my friend grabbed a two piece of tempura shrimp from the conveyer belt. His attitude was so awful that we got up to leave and go somewhere else. Before we could go, the server set down a card reader to charge us for the one soft drink and tempura shrimp. I told him we were not paying and that he was being extremely rude and unprofessional. He continued to argue with me, claiming that he sells "$10,000 worth of sushi in one day". I told him that wasn't an excuse to treat customers like trash. My daughter was with us, so we walked away from him. His response, in front of my four-year-old daughter, was "Okay, then I will follow you out, and 'tag' your car, and call the police". He RAN INTO my daughter as he was rushing out the door to see which car we were going to. My friend, not wanting the cops to be involved, paid for the one drink and two pieces of tempura shrimp... We asked him for his name as we were paying and he refused to give it to us, stating he was the "owner of this place, bro". He proceeded to say "F*** you" to me in front of my daughter and called us names. Do yourself a favor and go to Trapper's Sushi or ANY OTHER sushi joint for that matter. The food here was amazing. It was our first time trying this location on a suggestion from our friends. The only problem we had was the service from the boys working. My husband and I arrived early and got a booth. We got our drink orders but when our friends arrived no one came to take their drink orders and had to call the boys over. One kept using his camera to check himself out and another slammed a cup of water on our table. At 8:30 pm we were told that they stop taking orders from the servers which was understandable but the manner in which they spoke to us was rude. Then another came and started taking condiments off the table while we were still at the table. One of the chefs ask how everything was and if we were okay. Got the vegetable roll and the vegetable tempura roll to go. Was moderately disappointed to discover this is the type of sushi where they make the rolls SO THICK. A piece of sushi is supposed to be picked up with chop sticks. Dipped in soy sauce. And able to be eaten in one bite. These pieces were so large they fell apart before i could even dip them in sushi. And much too big to fit in one bite. The tempura roll was good. 4/5 stars. The vegetable roll was less good. 2/5 stars. It had some sort of radish/sour/crunchy vegetable which was not desirable. And they were both too big to eat in one bite which kind of took away from the experience.
