I love sushi and the idea of a conveyor belt element to serve you is so convenient. I thought it was a bit odd that the spacing between the conveyor belt and the tables seemed a bit far. It's reachable, but I feel like it could be closer. The sushi and food itself was okay. It wasn't anything amazing or special. It seemed quite limited and not the greatest of quality. It was a bit pricey compared to other sushi conveyor belt restaurants, too. The service with the staff was fine. They did their best to attend to customers quickly. The restaurant is located in a plaza, so parking isn't a big issue. It was clean inside, didn't need to use the bathroom so not sure how those are. I have been coming here for years and each time has always been great! Right off the freeway by the Tacoma mall and lots of easy parking. As of recently, seeing their conveyer belt off and limited hours has been a little disappointing, but the food still tastes the same and they have not raised their prices I believe. I usually stick to the usual cali rolls, shrimp tempura rolls and creamy scallop/shrimp rolls which are yummy but I can't speak to the more advanced types of rolls that contain more seafood. Special mention for their chicken katsu roll and tamago! The service is very good and we got our food very quickly. If you are looking for a casual sushi place and nothing fancy, this is the place to go. I hope business gets better and they can turn on their belt again, makes for a fun experience. read more

Only stopped here because I needed to charge my car. Didn't think I'd be spending $71 with tip on just dining for one. Not to mention mediocre quality of sushi, small portions. Anything with fish is $4-5 per plate that has 2-4 pieces of sushi. Not to mention they cut the fish very thin. Change you $3 for bagged green tea. Last time I come back. Just outrageous. I've always driven by this place on the freeway, and we finally went in for valentine's lunch. They are very child friendly, so I suggest it for families and those who have kids they need to feed. The menu explains everything they have on the belt, can make, and offer. We ordered two plates because my one year old was ready to go after that. We ordered a California roll and a spicy tuna roll. The spicy tuna roll is exceptionally delicious! The timing of sushi is fresh and it seemed like each time they were placing new ones out. I would have ordered the 5$ udon if I had time, which I probably will next time. The reason I give them 3 instead of 4 stars is because their color coding for plates between pink and purple need to be more distinct. So disappointed. I've been on a sushi craze the last couple weeks and have had some really great fresh sushi and this place did not meet that standard. Compared to the other conveyor belt sushi places in the area - this place is overpriced. To get anything moderately decent off the belt you need to spend at least 3 dollars per plate. I also always have a few staple plates I have which are spicy tuna roll, salmon nigiri, unagi nigiri, ikura, and tobiko.. the rolls are so thin! And they only give three pieces instead of the standard four. And another thing...they told me when I ordered the ikura they didn't have any! Is this place a sushi joint or not? Their rolls are over $5 for 2-3 pieces and they're just unappetizing, Plastic folding tables don't match the overdone decorum. Charging per can for soda is another warning flag. My fiance and I just moved here from CA. I was so excited to see Tacoma had a revolving sushi place. The one in CA we used to go to had good sushi and a fun point earning screen to count your place score to earn points. It was amazing. Unfortunately, our experience here was far from that. This place looks and feels depressing with plastic tables, nothing fun about it. The food was no good and way more expensive than the one in CA (which is crazy because everything else is cheaper in WA). I feel bad writing this because the employees, maybe even the owners, were so kind and I never leave bad reviews, but it was really a very disappointing day. My fiance and really felt like it was worth maybe 1/4 of the price we paid. I don't know if this place is planning on making improvements, and they just don't have the money yet. If so I hope an investor can help them. Otherwise, they should consider just becoming a normal sushi shop and focus on improving the menu. read more

My fiancee and I stopped by during a road trip from Bellingham to Portland. Of note the closing time on Yelp says 9PM but they actually close at 8PM. It's certainly one of the nicer Kaiten Belt sushi restaurants I've been too. The interior is wide and open with booth and bar options. Staff was friendly despite us walking in within the last hour. The sushi itself was good. Salmon nigiri still felt fresh despite being at the end of the night. My one disappointment was the price. The plates start of at a pretty reasonable $1.75 however, as we found out, that quickly rises to $3.75 and $6, with a majority of the plates at that $4 mark. I feel I should have read the reviews before I came here. A few things: - The revolution wasn't on, so there is temporary tables and lawn chairs. Not a bad thing, but weird because you would expect to sit around the revolution. - The portions were bad and the taste wasn't what I expected. I was trying to save face since I was there with kids, but it was incredibly disappointing. This place used to be better than paper cups for tea and small plastic cups for water. My friends used to go here all the time and I don't see why. - The service was good, but the overall experience was bad. We have some feedback to the server and I hope he ended up actually passing along our feedback. So, this was my boyfriend's first experience of belt sushi. We actually live in Bremerton, but this was the closest place to us that had good reviews. I've been to a handful of belt sushi restaurants, and one of the things that I love is the freshness of the product, especially when it's busy. We got to try a plethora of things. This, of course, is one of the best things about belt sushi. You can try a little bit of everything, and if you find something you like you can order more of it or just look for more on the belt! This particular restaurant was awesome. The lovely young lady that got our tea and our soup was very kind, courteous and speedy. If I have another hankering for a belt sushi I will definitely return here. You really can't beat the quality and experience for the price. But they'll allow custom orders of you buy the whole roll (like 3 plates) But- recently the roll slice width & portions are getting smaller as well as prices per plate went up 25cents- since we were in a few weeks ago. We also noted that the raw items like salmon, squid and tuna etc sushi plates went from yellow ($2.25 plate) to a pink plate ($2.75) so not only the increase of the quarter per plate, but moved onto a higher plate cost all together. read more

This is one of my favorite sushi places! It has a conveyor belt, which is nice for when you're starving and you don't want to wait for your order to be taken. The sushi is almost always fresh, I occasionally have a visit that has questionable fish. My all time favorite from here is the Creamy Scallop. The best Creamy Scallop I've ever had. If you don't see a specific roll on the belt, you can order it. They will give you the requested roll, and usually put extras on the belt. One downside is the mochi ice cream. The mochi usually tastes old and frost bitten, causing the rice cake to be a weird crumbly texture. The prices here are also the cheapest conveyor belt prices I've ever seen. Probably the worst sushi place we have ever been too. Extremely over priced for the horrible quality of sushi made. The food tasted old like it's been sitting out for some time now.I'm surprised this place is still open for business. Now let's talk about the service we received. One of their employees were super sweet to us who helped check us out. As far as the other employees I can't speak much about them. I had requested for new sushi rolls which there are signs that say you can request for them. Instead of getting us new sushi, she pulls one from the belt and when we had asked if they were fresh she says yes. Clearly they weren't by the quality of every sushi we had tasted since we got there. when I had told her that I didn't want those she took them from me, rolled her eyes and went to talk about me to her other coworkers. When I had asked the sweet employee about ordering new sushi she had mentioned that the only way for me to get new sushi is by ordering at least 3 (when there are no signs saying there are any minimum requirements). I stop here every few months, as I live in Olympia now. But every time I go, I get great service and I love the sushi. I can't get enough of the salmon skin roll, and salmon nigiri. I wish they had super white tuna, but that's really the only thing missing. I was here Oct 25 for dinner, and I didn't get the employee's name but he seems to always wear a beanie whenever I go there. He is so nice and checked on me often, always with a smile. I feel weird giving this 4 stars. The sushi is extremely simple (don't expect any exotic rolls here) and the atmosphere is open and comparatively barren. However, the prices are great -- two can fill up for $22. The fish portions are not generous, but fish that is there is deceptively flavorful. Service is what you'd expect from any sushi belt -- they'll take your order initially, check in with you once, and then disappear when you're ready to pay (presumably to encourage additional consumption). We pull up near Tacoma Mall and i did quick-judge thinking to myself "it's going to taste like that nasty Safeway sushi premade and stale". My friends forewarn me saying "it's not the best sushi but its cheap". If Blue C Sushi & Sushi Land come together they'd make Sushi Revolution. Nothing special about the conveyor belt, it just looks fun when food is passing by you 0.0001 miles an hour. The prices of each plate color is ridiculous cheap. VERY CLOSE BUT CHEAPER THEN SUSHI LAND and way better tasting too. Cheaper in a sense of their potstickers and deserts but sushi items are the same. Yes, I've had better sushi but this sushi was pretty good for the price you pay; quality of fish wasn't at its finest but it's fine enough!! Oh and for those who HATE soggy pot stickers, this is the place come. They make the pot stickers fresh and give it to you. Crispy pot stickers! I think people tend to get greedy and start rating low and get disappointed when they go to a conveyor sushi joint, look at the size of the portions and think THAT'S SO SMALL... Once I looked at the fish... especially the albacore... eh... it is on the wimpy side. But, if it's only $2-2.50 I think I can manage. I ended up eating $19 worth of nigiri [1 roll] and I think I ate about 7-8 plates? I'd say that's not bad at all. Their salmon was shining wet and looked super fresh, ended eating 2-3 plates and I usually don't even like salmon nigiri! That says something for me. I had their Izumidai... thinking the plate was pink and was hamachi haha! Well that got me to try some fish I probably would have never eaten? It was alright. I didn't have their unagi nigiri... but it was on the SUPER small.... side.. wasn't worth it. Bottom line: Strong choice for kaiten, best I've had in South Sound, for sure. Average plate is $2.50 (pretty standard for the area). Slightly above average selection. Everything was fresh. Not the best for groups (about 1/2 dozen booths, bar makes up the rest), so call ahead if you've got a gang. Plus they greeted everyone entering. That is very big in my book. Local kaiten (conveyor belt sushi) is a tough sell with me. It tends to be unoriginal and specious quality. What a pleasant surprise, then, to find Sushi Revolution. If you're into kaiten: I judge it just as good as Sushi Land or Blue C, but without Blue C's "ambiance". Fresher than Blue Island. My rating is definitely based on what you can find locally. Because we went early, we found quite a bit of nigiri on the belt. We tried half a dozen nigiri - all good. Poke was only so-so. Hot items were meh. Tips for the unitinitiated: Remember it's kaiten! You'll see lots of fried maki. Nigiri is scattered amongst hot items and maki - that's typical. You won't see the variety you find at a good sushi bar. Go Early! We were here first thing (just after noon) and the oft mentioned double rounders were plentiful and freshly laden - which is probably a major factor in why we had a good experience. Remember to order or ask for things you want! I had excellent uni, what a surprise. Only $4! Double surprise. You won't see uni on the belt! Watching the plates revolve around is strangely mezmorizing, and being able to sample lots of different small plates is great for someone indecisive like me.
