I really wish we would have had the same experience that most positive reviews about Fork talk about. However, our experience was anything but positive! As we had made a reservation for 9:30pm, we arrived at 9:25. The hostess was nice, and told us that "they were running a little behind, but they were getting our table ready for us, and it would be only around 10 to 15 more minutes". We understand that these things happen, no problem. She then suggested that we could sit at the bar, order a drink if we wanted, and she would come to get us when our table was ready. We sat at the bar, and felt as if we were invisible! We tried to get the attention of some staff to allow us to order some drinks. Twice, the bartender rose his finger to imply "he would be with us in just a minute". After over 20 minutes, we finally were able to order some drinks. When we inquired again with the hostess, and other staff about our reservation, all we were told is that "they were very busy". Then, another party of about 10 came in and was immediately seated at a dinner table, which the hostess obviously must have known by the way she was hugging half of them. We also noticed a couple open tables, asked someone else again about when we would be seated, as it was almost 10 by this time. Again, nothing. At this point, our drinks were empty, three different parties had come in, and were seated ahead of us, and it was apparent it would be impossible to get another drink if we wanted. It took another five minutes to get someone's attention just to pay for our drinks. At 10:05, we were able to pay for our drinks, and decided to leave. We walked to another restaurant, and were immediately greeted with a smile. Where we were able to order/have dinner. We will NEVER go back to "Fork"! Where nobody smiles, acts like they don't want to be there, and litterally ignore their customers. What a total disappointment! Look elsewhere for a place to dine on a special date night. read more

My now husband and I came here on 09/28 for our wedding night. I had a reservation, and we had arrived about 10 minutes early for it; and the woman at the front got us in right away! Right off the bat, the restaurant was wonderful. It is decorated so beautifully, the seating was distanced, and very comfortable. They had nice little candles set up at each table, and a waiter came up to us almost immediately. Without us even asking he was giving us recommendations and making sure we got what we wanted. We let him know it was our wedding night and he did everything he could to make it as special as possible. He even gave us a free desert, (which I will describe later)! First off we got a delightful appetizer. I believe they called it the "Tomato Basil Fondue & Grilled Cheese". Let me tell you, that was the absolute BEST appetizer I have ever had at a restaurant. I know, that may sound like a bit of an over-exaggeration, however that is completely honest! The fondue was like the most creamy tomato soup you ever had, and they gave little forks to dip little squares of a yummy grilled cheese into it. If you have any fondue over, you also get a spoon to eat the rest like soup! Next I had the "Grown Up Grilled Ham and Cheese". It includes lots of slices of ham, white cheddar cheese, a tomato spread, and caramelized onions; all on zeppole sourdough bread. With it, I had some of their house made potato chips. Very tasty as well! I would say I have never had a grilled cheese quite like it, and if I could, I would make all of my grilled cheeses from now on just like it! Lastly we got that on-the-house dessert! They let us choose which dessert we wanted, in which we got the "Gluten Free Brownie Bowl". It was a large brownie with two large scoops of one vanilla, and one chocolate ice cream, all topped with whipped cream, chocolate sauce, and nuts. You couldn't even tell that it was gluten free. Food cooked with excessive butter, oil or salt. Healthy conscious beware. The Brussels sprouts are deep fried. The kale served with the trout was sautéed in excessive butter. I would have eaten healthier elsewhere. The menu doesn't reflect how the food is actually prepared. They need to be more transparent. read more

On the evening of 6/20 I went to Fork - hoping for a culinary treat. What resulted was a terrible meal coupled with horrible service. I sat at the bar by myself and was greeted after 10 minutes. While sitting there with no menu and no water, I noticed that the bar had not been wiped down in some time. Finally, I was able to place my drink order while receiving my menu and a glass of water. As I sat at the bar I felt a bump, and noticed it was one of the waiters who walked by and bumped my chair. Maybe he didn't apologize because he was walking so fast? I ordered the grilled shrimp cocktail as an appetizer and the pork chop as my main entrée. My shrimp cocktail arrived - the shrimp were barely warm at best and had no grill marks. After eating 1 shrimp I sent it back. Expecting a new dish, I received what I thought was my same dish with a missing shrimp - so now I am down to 4. Did they eat one of the shrimp to make sure they were cooked? My pork chop came out and was barely cooked enough for me to eat. The bartenders never checked to see if my main entrée was good and didn't refill my water glass. Would I go back? NO. Would I recommend Fork to anyone? NO. Even the people sitting next to me were wondering where their food was. read more

Fork is already a major hit in a location not known for successful eateries. The main attraction is the atmosphere. Previously, the acoustics from all the marble (this is an old bank building) were abominable. They have redesigned and redecorated to make it possible to hear. The emphasis is on a trendy sort of urban/rustic decor with wood and brick, large windows that admit lots of sun, and overall a welcoming, almost cozy feel. This place could be in Sun Valley. The food is upscale and well prepared. My 7-ounce fillet was outstanding and grilled to a perfect medium-rare. It came atop a potato pancake and grilled, marinated onion. Nothing ordinary about it. The price - $22 - is very competitive. They also featured a 12 ounce New York steak or 16 ounce prime rib (on weekends only). There is salmon, portobello mushrooms, and lamb. Fork caters to a stylish steakhouse crowd who also enjoy just munching down on beer and appetizers. Fork features a full bar (with one obligatory and relatively silent sports TV) and a judicious selection of wines by the glass as well as a substantial number of wines by the bottle. These include some very high-end items like Leonetti Merlot and Domaine Telegraph "Le Crau" Chateauneuf-du-Pape, which, alas, is stored standing up. These two cost $125- $145 each - about double the ordinary retail price. The Basel Cellars Claret, however, was a luscious accompaniment to my steak. It's a Washington meritage with a solid core of cassis flavors and at just over $10 a glass, reasonably priced by today's standards. My Caesar salad departed from the usual with its smoky-flavored dressing and the red peppers added to it. You can get anchovies too. With a martini, it was terrific. You have your own pepper grinder so that silly ritual is dispensed with. For dessert, there is a butter cake (a la mode) that lives up to its name. At $8.50, it's very good and too much for one person to eat comfortably. (They have other things too.) Don't forget the coffee. It's $3 but you get a a free refill. They make each cup fresh and it's good. I have been very impressed with the service. Every time I have eaten there, servers and the manager have stopped by quickly and made a point of checking with me and calling me by name. They are exceedingly eager to please and very helpful. If effort means anything, Fork should do very well. read more

I have lived in Boise for a little over 5 months now. I have had my fair share of the many restaurants in this lovely town, but the fork stands out above the rest!!! The food was unbelievable, the personal service from the staff, and the atmosphere is wonderful! We want to give our personal thank you to our waiter Pete, he was very attentive, when helping us choose the wine, suggesting the best dinners from the menu and even the dessert. I went to fork last night specifically for their chicken an waffles. My wife and I go to fork fairly regularly and have always enjoyed the awesome service and consistently great quality of food. I do have a complaint: why on earth make chicken and waffles only available on Tuesday? Seriously, they are a must have item. Delicious waffles that are light and fluffy and not overly sweet. The chicken is super crispy and seasoned very well. I'm sure the reasoning is time/ cost related. Either way, fork has a great menu, the burger is amazing, the salmon is great as well. Atmosphere is fun and comfortable. The place can get noisy but that fits the atmosphere just fine. This is one of the most enjoyable dinning experiences in Boise. read more

All of our food was overcooked. My husband ordered a rare steak - it came out medium. I ordered my salmon medium rare came out medium well. My review is not full of experience on this restaurant, I have been there 3 times and ordered the Urban Burger every time, and I don't plan to get anything different next time I go. Definitely the best burger in Boise. The black bean hummus appetizer is also very good. But the Burger is a must. Not randomly huge like many places that claim to have amazing burgers, just perfectly proportioned and cooked, great sauce, and the bacon on the burger was cooked perfectly; meaty, not crispy. read more

Arrived on time with a party of 8. At the table in less than 3 minutes. Had two show up later. Staff worked in their orders and seating with ease. Great food, nice mixed drinks, adequate number of taps with nice options. I rarely eat Trout out on the town; took a chance and it was excellent. Tom was a fine leader for the Fork Team. They have the best rosemary fries and their slant on the BLT is excellent. Generally crowded, they didn't have a ramp for my friend's stroller so we had to pack the monstrosity up the stairs, which was a bummer. Since it's a busy place the servers are generally quick to bring you the check midway through lunch/dinner and then disappear. A nice place for lunch with friends if you call or use open table for reservations. read more

I have been to this restaurant twice and both experiences I've been really great. I think I got the salmon it was such a good dish I don't think I've had a better salmon ever since, also they have really great lunch menu. We love Fork ! Why you ask ? Here's why: Most everything on the menu is DELICIOUS ! The ambiance reminds me of a New York restaurant, loud, noisy and with a purpose. The staff to the person are all well qualified. Jackie the Manager is there to make your visit a positive one in every way. Did I mention the food is DELICIOUS. They have a terrific bar and they don't skimp on the alcohol. They don't skimp on the food either. There's an outdoor patio as well. By the way, if you like very good Italian food be sure to ask about their restaurant around the corner called: Alavita on Idaho. We've eaten there as well and loved each and every morsel !! Fork is one of my favorite dinner spots in Boise, especially in the summertime. They have a great patio for people watching! ;) I love every dish I have ever had - never been disappointed. Cheap drinks and good food, what more can you ask for? It's one of my favorite girl's night out spots, but also has intimate seating for date nights. I'm a huge fan of Fork. Went in wanting the Meatloaf and was told that they were all out. I decided on the French dip as my alternate and the waiter let me know that the Prime Rib was on special. I went ahead and decided to order the prime rib instead and oh wow was it the best decision of my life. It was so tender and soft and cooked to perfection. I went here for a work dinner with some colleagues...it was my first and last visit. With everything on the menu listed as containing meat or cheese, I politely asked the server if there was a vegan option. He said there was, and so it seemed like we were off to a reasonable start - though it seemed a little strange they wouldn't put that on the menu. When he brought out my plate, all I could think was, "Seriously?! Your vegan option consists of about 100 calories worth of vegetable sides?! For almost $15?!" Les Schwab Tire Center on Cole Road. I am continually amazed at the efficient, friendly and prompt service I receive from Les Schwab Located on Cole Road. Their people are knowledgeable and do not ever attempt to upsale me when I go in for any type of service. I haven't had to put air in my own tires since I first started going there about eight years ago after moving to Boise. I use a local tire company in Phoenix for 25 years previously and and I am equally as happy and satisfied with this location of Les Schwab here in Boise. Tires and parts seem to be of good quality as I get better than normal service out of all everything. read more
