I don't believe Fort Wayne Toyota was acting in bad faith, but I am disappointed with how my purchase was handled. I test drove a used Grand Highlander and loved how it drove, but couldn't afford to purchase it. When discussing alternatives, the salesman asked what one feature I couldn't live with; I said a white exterior. I was then shown a white Grand Highlander to lease. Before deciding, I insisted on driving their used 2025 Buick Enclave. It drove similarly to the Grand Highlander I had tested, so I asked for a financial comparison. I was offered similar payments to purchase the Enclave or lease the Grand Highlander with my $25,000 upfront. The salesman recommended the Toyota, emphasizing its better value retention and presenting the $25,000 as similarly invested either way. Believing the vehicles drove similarly and the Toyota was the better long-term value, I accepted the white exterior and chose the Grand Highlander. Unfortunately, I wasn't told that the Grand Highlander I leased had a substantially different powertrain from the Grand Highlander I test drove. I trusted the salesman and never drove this version before committing. I don't believe this was intentional, but it was an important oversight. Had I known about the powertrain difference and driven this version first, I would have purchased the Enclave instead. The Grand Highlander is a very nice vehicle, and had it driven like the one I test drove, I would have no complaint. I simply wish the powertrain difference had been clearly explained before I made such a significant financial commitment. read more

We just bought a new 26 Camry XSE from them and they were great at every level. The finance manager wasn't super pushy when we declined all of the roadside assistance and the extended warranty. We also declined the extra car care package they usually add on and got zero pushback. I did my research and asked for the out the door price and to my surprise they gave it to me. I of course negotiated a little but got very little pushback compared to other dealers I've been to in the past. I found the vehicle at a dealer located in Grand Rapids Michigan and let Fort Wayne Toyota know and they managed to secure the car and had it here within 2 days. It was the exact car we wanted with the correct color and also had the exact features we wanted. Other dealerships simply brushed us off and insisted they couldn't get the exact car in the color with the exact features we wanted, they even all tried selling us cars that were close but either not the correct trim or the wrong color or had none of the features we were looking for, but with Fort Wayne Toyota they understood when I told them we weren't in our 20's and were in our 40's and that if we were going to spend a butt ton of money on a new car then we were going to get exactly what we wanted. The process was overall a great experience and our salesman Castell was great!!! I would definitely repeat the process and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this dealership to others. read more

I leased a car here in 2017 - went with my dad, got my old KIA traded in. All was well. Three years later I went to purchase a car by myself after my lease was close to being over and they wouldn't take me seriously. I had to go multiple times for the sales people to finally show me cars, and when they did they tried to sell me a car I didn't want. They were annoyed I had done my research and asked them about extra fees they had tacked on which was basically bogus. I felt patronized and humiliated. The finance guy there called me a Karen before handing me my paperwork and keys. Most stressful car buying process ever.... This wasn't my first car and I was not a teen girl trying to buy it - I was a 36 year old dentist so I'm not sure what their problem was. Literally a month later the battery on this car died. And it has died multiple times in the last four years I've had it - I bought it brand new. Pay a little more and go to Evans Toyota - they're way kinder and won't treat you like crap. read more

09/29/2025: Edit: we were contacted by the dealership with an apology and an updated price. We went in and were assisted by Nathan, the sales agent who apologized for what happened and also Austin, the GM. Austin was willing to listen to our side and apologized for the previous encounter the other day. He was also willing to work out a better deal with us due to some other concerns we had. I have update the rating from 1 star to a 4 stars from today encounter. 09/28/2025: This place has been nothing but a disappointment. We bought a new Tacoma through them last week and have been searching for a new RAV4 Hybrid, so we returned a few times to negotiate the price. When we bought the Tacoma, we declined the Ziebart paint protection plan because we didn't want to spend nearly $2,000 on something we didn't feel we needed. However, when we were looking at the RAV4 last week, our salesperson Nathan told us that Ziebart is not optional on the RAV4 although we didn't buy it for the Tacoma, and that we would be required to purchase it this time. Since we bought the Tacoma through them, he offered to take $1,000 off, making the plan around $900+ but still insisted it was mandatory. We asked if this requirement came from Toyota, and he said no, it was a policy through their dealership. He told us directly that he could not let us leave with the RAV4 unless we agreed to buy the Ziebart, which we felt was absolutely ridiculous. When we discussed the OTD price, it already included the cost of Ziebart, so we didn't proceed with the purchase that day due to a disagreement over the final price. We went back again yesterday to look at a different vehicle after discussing a potential OTD price. While Nathan was helping another customer, the sales manager, Andrew, came out to talk to us as we were looking at the vehicle on our own. He explained the benefits of the Ziebart package and how it might help address some of our concerns. He was quite convincing, and since we had already been told that the package was required, I assumed that the OTD price we discussed already included it. I tried to explain this to Andrew, but that's when his attitude shifted. He suddenly became very defensive and said he knew what our "tactic" was. He brought up the fact that we didn't purchase the Ziebart package for the Tacoma, so why would it be included for the RAV4 at the current price? His tone made it sound like I was lying or trying to trick them into giving us the package for free. He even made a comment--indirect but clear--that if I wasn't willing to pay the price, I shouldn't be buying the car. First of all, I am not trying to use any tactic, your own staff clearly told me that I have to purchase the Ziebart in order to walk out with the car I want. Trying to make the customer sound like they are lying is just ridiculous and unacceptable. I walked out because I felt disrespected by his remarks. Later, he texted me, asking if I would be ready to write a check if they included the Ziebart package at the OTD price we had previously discussed. When I expressed how disappointed I was with how everything was handled, there was no apology. Instead, they doubled down, saying that since I had told them multiple times I didn't want the Ziebart, why would they include it in the OTD price? Yes, I did complain about having to buy the Ziebart but it was their own salesperson who clearly told me it was not optional if I wanted the RAV4. So of course I assumed it was already included in the price (And no, it wasn't on the car with the tin cap stickers, Nathan tried to sell me the Ziebart plan for the gray RAV4 last time before we moved on from it due to price disagreement and that's when the tin cap stickers vehicle was shown to us instead). I also have two other witnesses, both fluent in English, who can confirm that we were told the Ziebart package was mandatory and could not be opted out of. As a buyer, I have every right to negotiate the price of a vehicle. And as a seller, you have every right to decline. But there is no need to say things like, "You shouldn't be buying it if you don't want to pay the price." That's condescending and unprofessional. I had planned to buy two more vehicles through your dealership and was going to refer friends who are currently shopping for new cars, but after this experience, I will not be returning, and I definitely will not be recommending this place to anyone. DO NOT TRUST THEIR SERVICE DEPARTMENT!!! Zero stars!! I took my RAV4 there for a "free oil change" (since I bought the vehicle from them). I asked them to check my brakes and a "slight rear main seal leak" Jiffy Lube mentioned. Well, Jason calls me to inform me that it's actually a leak in the Timing Cover, will take 19 hours to repair, cost $3600, and though he "didn't have a magic 8 ball" to predict when things might go catastrophically wrong, the engine was "wet, covered with oil that was leaking down the side", (weird to me that no oil seen under my car, but what do I know?). ALSO, bad news, my brake pads are needing to be replaced as well as the rotors, which are "rusty", at $600 a pop for rear and front each. So in summary, I needed $4,800 worth of work done. I mention that William's Service Center will replace brakes and rotors for $400 each, they immediately say they can match that... but ONLY if I do all the repairs there (leak and brakes). Deciding to get a second opinion, imagine my surprise when Matt at William's tells me *THERE'S NOTHING WRONG WITH MY CAR!! *Brakes are fine, *engine is cleanest he's seen for the mileage- *NO leak!!* (And they charged me nOtHiNg!!) Which means that Toyota (Jason and Chris the service manager) outright lied to me, and essentially tried to rob me!! They also tried to charge me $80 for my "free" oil change when I picked it up. HA! And last year they tried to tack on an additional $500 in maintenance work to a repair without telling me (only after I asked why the quote is more than expected did they fess up). They are very shady. **DO NOT TRUST THEM.**It's too bad, because my daughter is going to be shopping for a car in the next couple weeks, and I won't be going back to this dealership! As a loyal service customer and Toyota owner, I was not please by the service provided on August 22, 2023. Being in the service industry myself, I understand the value of the customer listening and seeking expertise. Hence, I have similar standards and expectations myself. I detected my overhead interior light console was draining my 12-volt battery, since I jumped my 2018 Prius Prime three times in a week. Hence, I scheduled an appointment for service. I mentioned my findings to Damian Kudrawiec. Without hesitation, he stated diagnosis is necessary and its $160 and will be about 1 hour 30 minutes to confirm the issue(s). The diagnosis testing confirmed a bad switch in the console, which requires console replacement - $400 for the console and $80 labor. I was shocked at the console price and stating I would shop around. Then I ask Damian to disconnect the console, so it would not drain my battery. He said with the SOS system they could not disconnect, but it was turned off. I said "fine will the console system drain my battery?" He said "no; it is turned off." This is why Fort Wayne Toyota (Service Staff & Mechanics) are the experts and I depend on their guidance and insight. I drove to work and after work, around 6:30 PM, my vehicle would not start and the dashboard stated 12-volt battery issue. A colleague jumped my vehicle and it is now parked in my garage until I purchase the replacement console. I questioned what the findings of your diagnosis testing were, since I mentioned the console light was flickering when I turned the switch on and off. It appears my $160 did not uncover any current issues and only confirmed my initial findings. I am missing the value of this service experience since the advice was flawed and inconvenienced me with Ubers, to and from work, the next day while I shopped for the console. Lesson learned moving forward - I would like to see a diagnosis report, since I question if the testing was truly performed. The car is fantastic and exactly what we wanted. The real issue is the customer service. Almost non existent. First when we got the vehicle they never checked to see if the VIN paperwork was correct. Took me 5 phone calls and weeks to get them to even say there was an issue. Secondly we have other issues that we need remedied and we are getting more excuses. Customer service from all departments is ridiculous. I would be excited if they called me to get this fixed and I would give a little better rating. I am a chemical engineer so I took a sample and analyzed it and found out it was dry chemical powder from a fire extinguisher. Worst experience at a dealership I've ever had. My husband and I bought a van from this dealership and we were pleased with the purchase. After having the van for only 13 days we unfortunately hit a deer and the van was at the auto body shop for 3.5 months. When the van was fixed we were so excited to finally have it back. We came home to get the memorandum title to go get our license plate and we couldn't find it. We assumed it was an honest mistake. When we called the dealership and told them our name the woman told us "I've been dreading this phone call." She went on to tell us that they don't have the title for the van we purchased and haven't been able to get it...in nearly 4 months!!!! So she knew we didn't receive the title and she never contacted us. She also told us that she would call us to keep us updated and she never once followed through with her calls. Her last claim from today is that they requested the title from the place they bought it from.... shouldn't that have been step #1?? I am not crossing my fingers. I have a feeling that we need to contact the attorney general & hire an attorney to actually be able to drive our van since our temp tag expired on 12/19/23! We would've never bought the van had they been honest and told us they haven't received the title. Instead they sold the van, that shouldn't have been available for purchase, and didn't even have the courtesy to let us know what was going on. Very dishonest and unprofessional people at this dealership. We have a vacation in 3 weeks and we don't have a vehicle to get there now due to their fraudulent sale. read more

I purchased a vehicle in September. Before I made it home, there were problems. My full situation is way too much to spell out here, so I'll summarize. The original salesman was new and attempted to address the issues, then he just stopped responding to me. I ended up going around him, making calls myself to get the vehicle in for servicing (that was about 2 wewks later). The communication from almost everyone I encountered was horrible. Jen Norris is the designated advisor for vehicles purchased there that have issues. I wanted to like her and I'm sure she's a nice lady, but her communication skills are seriously lacking. I had to continuously call for updates during the almost 2 months my vehicle was there, and still received inaccurate information. After a few weeks, I only dealt with Kris Gordon (service manager). He is the ONLY reason I'm giving 2 stars and the fact that he tried to help me get the issues corrected. (Unfortunately, the major issues with the door and front end were still present). However, at least he attempted to treat me like he valued me as a customer. Austin (sales manager) was definitely non sympathetic and disrespectful in his offer to "make this right". The bottom line is that this dealership sold a vehicle that literally had a page full of issues that SOMEONE knew about. After all repairs couldn't be done, I asked them to buy me out. Of course they tried to low ball me. The pay off would only be offered IF I purchased a vehicle that cost over $10K more than the one I currently had. (I drove the vehicle maybe 3 weeks total, off and on, before the final day I picked it up.). The dealership had it over double that amount of time. At that point, there was absolutely no way I could remain a customer. This dealership would definitely benefit from additional staff training on proper follow up and communication with customers and also some training in just being good people. But as others have stated, it's about the money, not people. Not that anyone would, but just so Fort Wayne Toyota knows, there's no need to respond with your generic message. I found another dealer who valued me and the vehicle has been traded. I've told anyone that would listen to be weary of doing business with you. The worst dealership I have ever dealt with! Please save yourself the time, money and frustration by going literally anywhere else. They were friendly enough until I bought the car, and then everything dramatically went downhill. I bought a car with the promise a few cosmetic issues would be fixed, so three days after the purchase I dropped the car back off. They were supposed to fix a wiring issue and apply the Ziebart package as well. I was originally told this would take 2 days max. After a week I reached out the salesman. No answer. I come to find out he had been fired and no one at the dealership was going to bother reaching out to let me know. Obviously frustrated, I get in touch with sales manager Austin. I try to catch him up on what is needing to be done to the car, and he brushed me off and absolutely talked down to me. I was floored at the disrespect coming from a manager. After another week of my car being there, I emailed the GM hoping to get some answers. Instead of responding, he just forwarded my email to Austin and had him 'handle it'. Three weeks after I had dropped the car off, Austin told us the car was ready to be picked up and we would be very happy with it. To my surprise, NONE of the cosmetic issues had been dealt with and the wiring issue had not been resolved. Not only had they not been fixed, but there were two NEW paint chips and a new dent that had not been there originally!! Austin basically shrugged and said there was nothing he could do. After pressing harder, he said they would take it to a bodyshop but we would again have to drop the car off next week.10 minutes after driving off the check engine light came on! At this point, I emailed Bob Rohrman customer service group because I was so frustrated with the lack of service at this dealership. I never got a response. Instead they forwarded the email to the GM. But again, the GM couldn't be bothered to reach out. We received a text from another sales manager letting us know we could just return the car and be done with it- which was great; I was happy with this solution. A few days later, I finally get a call from the GM, Kyle. He told me he had the other sales manager reach out because the email I sent to Rohrman was 'too long' and he didn't have the time to read it. He then informs me they can't take the car back because they 'would lose out on thousands of dollars'. But it's okay for a customer to lose out on thousands because they sold a crap car? He told me they would however fix the issues out of 'good will'. I asked if my first month payment could be covered since the car had been sitting at their dealership for practically the whole month. He begrudgingly agreed and said the check would be ready by the next Monday. He went on to tell me he would be handling this himself from now on and promised we would get this whole issue resolved. This was a total lie. In fact, I called numerous times after that and left him several messages, checking on the status of the check he promised to have ready, or the status of the car. All of which he ignored. Fast forward ANOTHER 3 weeks (a full month and a half after purchasing the car), and I finally go to pick up my car again. A few of the cosmetic issues had been fixed, but once again there were new body issues. The speaker issue had been fixed, but the check engine light was still on due to a part being on back order. Kyle was conveniently not there, and because of this the check wasn't ready either. I had to make another trip across town to pick up the check I had been promised would be ready three weeks prior. All of this to say, once they have your money, they stop treating you like a customer and more like a pest they're annoyed by. The managers here do not care about you, and do not follow through with what they say. Even more disappointing, was the fact that the Bob Rorhman customer service never even bothered reaching back out after I sent them an email Definitely don't go to this dealership, but I'd even go as far to say avoid and Bob Rohran dealership PERIOD. read more

First I want to recognize and separate our salesman from this review. Mike Smith is great at what he does, builds trust, great rapport, and wants the best for his customers. We purchased our used Mazda CX5 with the understanding that the vehicle was in good working order, they in fact told us that it went through an intake check, and did another one when they performed an oil change and detail. They produced a checklist and everything passed with flying colors. My first mistake was trusting they followed their own checklist. We have had the car 5k miles. They marked rotors and brakes were good in fact .7 on pads. We noticed the brakes didn't seem right. The rotors were warped and somehow the pads were. 4??? So the mechanic that did brakes noticed something peculiar when he started the vehicle, the coolant light would immediately shut off, and it shouldn't do that (car has done this since the day we bought it). He checked the coolant and it had oil in it. Not only did we replace rotors and pads. We have to replace radiator, transmission, heater core, flush the entire system, and replace all the hoses to the cooling system. The shop doing the repairs couldn't guarantee that it had been that way when we bought it, but did say that it was highly unlikely that those items wouldn't have been uncovered on the dealerships inspection on intake or before delivery. The primary reasoning was the severity of the damage to the transmission and cooling system. There are several "loop holes" in the extended warranty so be prepared to pay well above the deductible. Would be great if Fort Wayne Toyota would like to help with this... but we have reached out and gotten no response. I won't be going back. Buyer beware!! Have your mechanic check it out before you sign, the dealership is untrustworthy. Unfortunately my Husband has seen this practice first hand when he worked there 8 years ago, unwillingness to disclose defects to customers, and pointing to there checklist as proof.....lol. That was his reasoning to leave them then and and now we are the victim of this BS now. Update : I contacted FWT witch my concerns on the car , spoke with Omar he failed to return my call and I called him back a little over 48 hours later , after 40 minutes of getting connected with him , I told him who I was and he had to have a "refresher" of why I was calling.. he then put me on hold came back asks said there was nothing he could do to help out with my car ( asked them to simply help cover the cost above the deductible), he stated he talk with his manager and they could not help. I called the following day to talk to the GM , he was not in but I spoke with Austin another manager ... again told him my situation, he stated that since I didn't being the car back to them he could also do nothing , I explained they had the car on two inspections and why would I come back a 3rd time ?, He assured me he would talk to his GM and get back with me . Update : Upon speaking with Austin again and I having to call them, he told me that he spoke with Kyle the GM and they would not help out with the $400 over the deductible that I had to pay because I did not bring the car back to them -- again I questioned why I would bring my car back to their technicians who missed this issue the first 2 times they had the car. I asked him who I could speak with that was over Kyle.. he directed me to call Rohrman Cares -- I called them and they told me that they really could do nothing other than contact the dealership. They did call me back the same day, and stated that they spoke with Kyle and again was told they could do nothing and were nothing short of being rude. I did tell them that not once did Kyle the GM actually speak with me....they assured me that Kyle would call me.... it has been a full 24 business hours and I have yet to hear from Kyle. read more

Got a used vihicle. Trst droved it. Ones I was ready to leave i notice the back sit off the van wasent clean. I told the sales men i was sick that day he said he would have to schedule a apointment to get it detail "it was puke it was even in the door in the spikes. Also the ruff was liking from the antenna the put a plastic pice till the part came in. Also a part for the winshil wipers. I was calling abaute the parts it took a long time on top off me having to leave the country and having covid. Also there was supost to get me a second set off key. I called as I was interested on another car they called me back asking me to come in. The manager came and told me if I had it on writing I no but I have it recorded. He also said he wasent going to detail the car and wasent going to fix the window or the windshield wipers that they had said they was going to order the parts. When they put the antenna the car is still liking gro. The ruff. I had tried to contact them all this time waghting on the parts. With no response. They dint do what was promised. Friendly staff. One of the service managers actually referred me somewhere else because this other business had a better product that was cheaper. That is uncommon service.they fixed my car and even directed me to a couch in the waiting room when I said I shouldn't be sitting around people (medical). Very friendly and they do quality work. I rented a car from them and they put me in a 2018 camery that had less than 1000 miles. I think this dealership does a fine job, better than Evans anyway! The Service dept washes and vacuums out car even for a simple oil change. They have worked with me on several issues and been timely and reasonable. read more

It's an average car dealership but the parts department is a bit uncomfortable. You can often hear crude language coming from the back.
