    Italian hero

The cheesesteak was basically fatty roast beef, salty and inedible, it went in the garbage. The focacchia sandwich and burger were good. The Italian hero had what looked like one piece of ham, lettuce and tomato. I would not recommend this place. To be fair, I have not tried the pizza.

PROS: this place had really good food. The menu had a nice variety to it with good prices. It was served quickly as well. Staff was nice, especially the young girl hostess with the braces. CONS: the place looks beat up and could use renovation. Especially the benches. It's also not brick oven, it's a regular oven that has bricks surrounding it OVERALL: great place to come since the food was good and the staff was great

    Prosciutto sandwich. Terrible.

It's been years since I've had food from here and now I remember why. The prosciutto sandwich was horrible. The menu stated it would have prosciutto, fresh mozz, arugula, roasted peppers, lettuce, tomato, red onions, o&v. I asked for no lettuce. Prosciutto was gross, barely any mozz, roasted peppers, and barely any vinegar. It came with no tomato, onions or arugula. The roasted peppers were the best thing on the sandwich. We also ordered stuffed mushrooms with bacon and cream cheese which were $9.50 (even more expensive than our prosciutto sandwich which was $8.50). For $9.50 we expected big mushrooms and what was got were 6 tiny button mushrooms no bigger than a quarter. Never ever again.

Philly cheesesteak and chicken marsala with a side salad.

Eh, skip it. The waitress wasn't helpful and not interested in serving us. Food mediocre at best. No AC and no cups of water. Not a fan.

It's not even the wait staffs fault. It's idiotic management. They have the waiters and waitresses working with no rhyme or reason. Instead of having assigned wait staff, one outdoors, one in the bar and one in the dining room, they have them all overlapping covering multiple tables and providing poor service for everyone. It took an hour and a half to have lunch today because the poor waitress had to work outside and inside. It hurts their tips and it's not even their fault cause they're doing their best. Management wake up and get things in order.

They literally have a large metal shelving unit, floor to ceiling, like one you would put in a garage for storage, packed with tons of grimy junk. I'm talking old printers and phones, boxes with all kinds of crap, loaded on shelves to the ceiling. This is right by the front door! Right by the dining area! Then I looked up...there is a loft storage area around the ceiling area that is packed with old junk, like Christmas decorations and old lights. Dusty loads of junk. It looked like an old man's attic. The tables all looked dirty too, like they never wipe them down. I don't know how the health department hasn't shut this place down. Even the employees looked filthy. I should have walked out without my slice, because it went in the garbage anyway. I was really mad at myself for not speaking up and walking out. The slice looked disgusting as well. I got pepperoni and it was floating in oil and the pepperoni was just put on top cold. Disgusting. Not to mention it wasn't cheap! You've been warned. If they are this filthy in plain sight, imagine what goes on in the kitchen.

The dishes were pretty much standard pizza parlor fare, with nothing bad and nothing particularly outstanding. The two best dishes were the garlic knot sliders and the penne vodka. Don't know if the vodka sauce was house made, but it was quite tasty and the sliders were unique. While I'm not running back, this is certainly not a place to avoid, and I would order food from them again without hesitation. There was plenty of staff behind the counter and they were pleasant enough. The restaurant itself is a hole in the wall. I didn't take pictures cuz there are quite a few people inside. While it didn't appear dirty, it certainly looked tired and run down. If you've got a hankering for some Italian takeout, check out Calabria Pizza in Oradell!

The menu is still the same, but Owner Cinthia recently added a wide variety of empanadas to the menu. It's time to crack open these homemade Dominican turnovers and check out the inner fillings. Beef: This original version of this folded turnover is packed with plenty of beef along with homemade seasonings. Bacon Cheeseburger: If you want to supplement toppings to the beef empanada, the bacon cheeseburger is a must try. It's practically identical to the classic sandwich. Ham and cheese: The savory ham combined with the gooey cheese will blow your tastebuds away Shredded Chicken: The seasoned chicken has a slight kick and you won't be disappointed. Pepperoni Pizza: If you want a variation of a classic pepperoni pizza pie, you've found it! If you are a vegetarian or simply need a break from all this protein, here are a few meatless empanadas to explore. Four Cheese: It's time to get the best of many worlds with mozzarella, cheddar, colby jack and pepper jack. Spinach and Cream Cheese: Here's a fair share of greens! Guava and Cream Cheese: This dessert empanada is a perfect closer to the meal. The sweet tropical fruit blends beautifully with the cream cheese.
