Came on a whim with a friend and was kind of disappointed. The food was not very good, the hash browns were very bland and kind of burnt, the sausage and eggs were pretty average, the pancakes were grainy and not very tasty and the biscuits were dry while the gravy was too runny and lacked substance and flavor. What has happened to my beloved Four Corners?!?!? This use to be one of my favorite places, even with it being on the far southern edge of town. Walking in it was no different, but they have changed the menu which got me all excited, but I went and ordered the Chicken Fried Steak anyhow and shared it with my daughter. The salad bar was still good with fresh lettuce. Here is where it goes down hill, We receive our food my CFS was burned on the outside and rare for CFS on the inside. I was so disappointed! Others in my party got Trip Tip Dips and there was hardly any meat in them. BUT the kicker is the tapioca was bad in the salad bar, needless to say I will be damaged for a bit to my favorite pudding. I am not sure what is going on in the kitchen but I hope that they get it squared away. Cause I will give them one more shot. read more

I had heard many good things about this place so I'd thought I try it for breakfast. We came in for a late breakfast on a Sat about 10:30. We were seated quickly. Food wait wasn't bad, food quality was ok. I wasn't too impressed with the taste of the food. At some other point im going to try to go back and try lunch or dinner, maybe it will change my opinion? This is my 4th time here over a span of a few years, but I have to say that I finally decided to yelp this place. I like supporting local restaurants, but it's only fair to leave an honest review for its patrons. The food is good, nothing outrageously amazing off the breakfast menu. My reason for the 2 stars is the fact that the service was EXTREMELY slow. It took 10 minutes for someone to come around to ask us for drinks and at that point we were all ready to order, by the waitress said she'd be back. After another 5-7 minutes waiting for water, we were still waiting to give our order. Finally 10 minutes or so after receiving our water, we put our order in. From here it literally took 25 minutes to bring our 4 breakfasts!!! Everyone else around us was finishing up and the room was soon becoming empty, just like our stomachs! There was no apology for the wait and when the food came out it was good. After we finished, it took another 10-15 minutes to get the check. At that point we were totally over the extremely long wait and horribly slow service. Fortunately for them we still tipped out of the kindness of our hearts, but sadly they lost customers who will never be back. read more

The best old-school homestyle breakfast around! I love going to Four Corners for a hearty breakfast meal. They have delicious farm-fresh eggs, great service from a family-owned restaurant, and one off the best cinnamon rolls I have ever had. I love the homey feel of Four Corners! Almost everyone is a regular and have probably lived in Tracy for 50+ years, but they treat the new guests just the same. Don't expect a fancy hipster brunch spot...this is a greasy spoon for sure. read more

Use to my wife's and my favorite breakfast and lunch spot - we would go clear across town to eat here - but we stopped years ago because the service went down the tubes after Kathy and Tom were let go by - I think - the son of the couple who owned or use to own Four Corners. Ever since he took over it went down hill. So decided not to go back. Really sad because we had been going since '94 and enjoyed the conversations. read more

Our small group transition here for our first Saturday in the month breakfast. We had been going to the Banta Inn for the last few years, but deteriating food and service eventually drove our group away. I am happy to say that today's group of ten people were welcomed by and waited on by Amanda, she was very attentive, pleasant and efficient. She always kept our coffee topped and made sure we had everything we needed. Larger groups do tend to be more difficult, but Amanda did well. The breakfast arrived promptly and at the same time for our group of Ten. No complaints with food, good size portions and cooked as requested. I had chicken fried steak - I'm from the South, so I know what that's supposed to taste like. What I got was unrecognizable to any sense, gustatory, visual, tactile, olfactory...ok, maybe not every sense - I suppose it did sound like chicken fried steak. Service was Ok. Look, feel, lighting, etc. was suicide-inducing. I'm not just snobbing because I'm city-folk. I love little rural tucked-away gems, but this is nothing of the kind. It's not quaint. It's not rustic. Worst service ever. I have tried this restaurant twice now and will not go back. The food is average, but the service is horrible. First of all, there are not enough servers to meet the needs of their guests. Secondly, the impression I got was someone who didn't know anything about the restaurant business or good customer service, opened a business. The staff completely ignore customers that walk in; no eye contact, no greeting, no "hey, we will be with you in a minute," nothing. Once you finally get to a table, you sit for at least 10-15 minutes before the most unfriendly, distracted server takes your order. Don't waste your time here. read more

I'm actually kind of disappointed at giving this restaurant a mediocre rating. I found this place much by accident. I had no idea it even existed, but for a postcard I recieved in the mail... an advertisement boasting its homemade breakfasts. Now, I love a good breakfast, but I don't like dining at Denny's, I-Hop or places like that. I enjoy the good 'ole non-commercial mom-n-pop, family-owned joints (and usually the places that look like a hole in the wall have the best food in town). So, I go there on a Sunday (I beg to differ with one of the reviewers who states that this facility is closed on Sunday... they are not, they are indeed open on Sundays). I went hungry and desperately needing food in my tummy from having too much fun the night prior. I ordered the California Omelette (I love omelettes), which comes with bacon, tomatoes, olives, avocados, and I substituted the cheddar cheese for jack cheese. The eggs were not over-cooked, the hash browns were stupendous... nothing was greasy. It was such a terrific meal, I chose not to use the coupons that came in the mail (from the postcard). I dined at that establishment three times since (within the last 2 months). Just this last Sunday, I took some friends out to breakfast and all I did was brag about this great breakfast place in town. Boy, was I embarrassed (I think they even sniffed my water and coffee to see if I was still drinking that same morning). I ordered the same meal each time because it was so wonderful. This time, there was definitely a noticeable change in kitchen staff. First of all, the place was hopping (which usually is a good sign). My food was slopped together with no care... "get it on the plate and out" seemed to be their motto this morning, and I almost puked in my mouth when the food actually reached my table. (Wait... I think I did puke in my mouth)... yuk! Everything looked burnt... the eggs, the bacon... Hell, I didn't even know you could burn tomatoes, but the two tiny pieces trailing the side of my plate were crispified. The hash browns looked like crunchy Chinese dried noodles and when I poked at them with a fork, they almost made the sound of breaking glass! Grease glistened from my plate under the dim light of the mess hall. A slab of unmelted jack cheese lay before me atop my brown omelette and as I lifted it up, I could see where cheddar had rested and been scraped off to make way for the correct selection of cheese. (I think I just puked in my mouth again from the memory of it all)... I summoned the 16-year old waitress over and told her that I didn't want cheddar cheese because of the grease, although I couldn't explain my unrest with the remaining grease that settled on my plate, slowly forming a large puddle. She literally asked me, "Do you want me to take it back to the kitchen?" As I paused staring at her for a moment, part of my brain yelled, "DUH!!!! No, I just wanted to run it past you for kicks and giggles!" The other part of my brain quicky conjured up images of a faceless someone blowing snot rockets into my "new, improved food." Either way, I was screwed on this breakfast thing. And, can you believe this? I actually apologized... yes, I apologized as if it were my fault being the recipient of a poorly cooked meal and asked her to please take it back and stated that I was sorry to cause any problems. I could've kicked myself under the tabe, but I was trying to be polite about it. I gnawed on dry sourdough toast while awaiting a fresh plate of edible goods and what came out five minutes later looked worse than what I had to begin with. It looked like they dumped all the innerds from the omelette out and re-grilled the shell only to shovel what looked to be two large handfuls of olives, three slices of bacon, and a fresh unmelted slab of jack on top. The only colors that existed on the plate was brown and a tinge of yellow.... there was no tomato or avocado. The hash browns were NOT new... they were shinier, though! I removed the slab of cheese and picked around the plate, searching desperately for something not brown and crispy. Couldn't find it. I sipped my coffee and finished my toast. The teenage waitress waltzed over and actually asked me, my plate full, "How was your omellete? Better?" Without blinking, I think I looked at her with a blatant expression of, "Are you kidding me?!" I raised my eyebrows and looked back down at my plate, trying to comprehend what she didn't understand about 20 minutes later and uneaten food. Did she expect a, "Yes, actually.... that was much better, I just couldn't eat any of it because I was so full from the coffee and toast." Well... basically, that one experience changed my mind and I highly doubt I will ever eat there again. I learned a lesson long ago that goes for much of life today, especially customer service... and that is: "You can do 1,000 things perfectly, but do just one thing wrong and it will be forever remembered." We really like this place! It's one of those hole in the wall places you find and don't regret it. Everything is made fresh. We've had their breakfast and lunch meals. Read a bunch of good reviews, so came by here this morning for breakfast and sadly will never be back. We were seated in the back room in the corner. The place was beginning to fill up and we were ignored for about 25 minutes before the lady came to take our order and then the wait for our food was even longer. The waitress looked irritated and didn't check on us at all. When it came out the food was all cold. I had ordered a waffle with bacon and eggs and a biscuit with gravy. My waffle was good, the bacon was completely burnt and cold, and I didn't even try the eggs. The worst thing for me was the biscuit and gravy. I could not even cut through my biscuit with a knife pressing down as hard as I could! It was as hard as rock! Completely not okay. My boyfriend even made a comment on how his food looked like they had rushed because it was an hour to closing and that his food was cold as well. With all of the wonderful reviews, I am very disappointed. It was not worth $30 at all. We unfortunately will not be back. read more

My wife and I came in to have breakfast. Waited 4 mins to have a waitress say find any seat. Then waited 20 mins and no menu or a simple I'll be there in a bit. My husband had to get up to get a menu himself. After 10 mins a waitress came took our oder and didn't see her until we asked for the bill. She brought a card machine ran it on our table and tried having a conversation so she could get a good tip. As she gave us our receipt she says "that's where you leave the tip" my husband was so angry and told her that was rude and if she wasn't ignoring us from the beginning we would of left a tip without being pressured into doing so. read more

Came in on a Sunday morning. Pretty busy and the girl who sat us said she was stressed out. Understandable considering it looked like they were short staffed. However, we sat there for well over 20 minutes with both servers walking around and past our table, still not even an acknowledgement with drink orders. They both were cleaning people's tables off and even visiting with people. My family and I have been coming here for ages and the servers are familiar with us. We felt like they were almost doing it intentionally. Pretty crappy service even if you're busy...needless to say we finally walked out. As they saw us leaving...not a word was said. First time at this long-time Tracy hole in the wall. Why haven't I been here before?? Going to make it my new best friend for breakfast. I had the French toast with cornflake crust. OMG! Genius! The cornflakes make it crunchy outside and it's still soft inside. Every bite has a crunch. And the taste is not altered at all. As I said, genius. This place is sort of like the Tardis (random Doctor Who reference)...bigger on the inside than the outside. Lots of local farmers sitting at the counter shooting the bull and talking politics. Plenty of tables so the wait isn't long. And the decor is country. Cute. Clean. Bacon is delish and not dry. Creamer is in a little metal dispenser rather than those damn cups you have to fight with to get open. Altogether, wonderful start to the day! read more

Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day! When I found this place I was very excited to try it after reading the reviews. I was disappointed with my visit and will probably not return. I ordered biscuits and gravy and my friend ordered a waffle. I asked for a side of gravy once my plate arrived and I saw that there wasn't much on the biscuits. My side never came, and I even asked about it a second time. It didn't seem too busy while I was there, but the service wasn't that good, either.
