Wow this place is a vibe on Thursday night! (College Friday). Outdoor and indoor seating was fully booked but the bar seating was open and quick to be seated. These 2 items were the server recommendation: $16 TALEGGIO STUFFED FOCACCIA rosemary; olive oft mozzarella - This was delicious! It looked like they served me half a pie until I cut the flaky bread open to reveal the melted Mozarella and rosemary pieces. The salt on the bread just enhanced the flavor and paired nicely with all the ingredients. I completely devoured this appetizer. $27 SPAGHETTI CON VONGOLE saffron ciams. tomato butter - It was either this or the Bolognese. To each their own but I think I should have gone with the bolognese and here's why. The Spaghetti took roughly 30 minutes to come out. It looked great, but it was slightly more on the saltier side and pasta tasted gummy and undercooked. Don't know if it's the type of pasta they used or if the chef rushed it a bit early. However, there were plenty of clams in the dish to have for each bite. And enough tomato butter at the end when you complete your dish. And just a note: This is not a big portion. You come here to taste the flavors and feel good. Not to feel like you went to an all you can eat if that makes sense. Overall, would definitely come back to try the rest of the menu and perhaps a few artisan drinks if I didn't have to wake up so early the next day.
I wanted to love this place but, it wasn't quite love. I think this restaurant has work to do with managing the volume of its clientele. They seemed very unprepared for the pace of the business. To start, we weren't seated until almost 35 minutes past our reservation. It was understandable that some tables like to sit and chat after their meal. My solution would be to leave seats open at the bar or have a table or two not booked back to back for reservations. It almost seemed like this restaurant was sacrificing the experience to flip another table. Instead of having a place to stand we were stuck behind people eating at the bar or by the kitchen constantly being moved out of the way. It was awkward and unpleasant. When we were finally seated, there was a custom menu that said "happy birthday" waiting which was a unique and fun touch. I loved that it was something personal that I hadn't encountered before. When we went to order food unfortunately the dish I wanted was sold out. They had "just sold" the last one. I couldn't help but think that if we had been seated on time, I would have had the dish I wanted. After some more debate, we ended up with the broccoli Caesar salad and focaccia for starters. Unfortunately, the staff came over with an extra salad and no focaccia which we wanted to go with the salad. The broccoli Caesar salad was probably the best item on the menu. It was charred with citrus dressing. I could eat that everyday. I had the steak entree which was well cooked and good quality but came with a deconstructed elote on the plate. It was strange in an Italian themed restaurant and was just odd overall. I also tried the salmon which was good and pretty plated and the bolognese. Both were average. When the main course was almost over our focaccia arrived. It was fabulous but too late. We ordered desert and coffee/tea. Deserts were all fantastic. I had a passion fruit dessert and tried both the creamsicle and cherry sorbet. All were perfectly balanced and great pallet cleansers. Unfortunately we had another blunder with the service here and the creamsicle dessert didn't arrive until we asked for it twice. Let's talk about the drinks. The wine list could use work. All the reds (about 5-6) were Italian which I get we're going with a theme but then elote on a plate? I would have liked a nice Pinot or Cab with my meal. Instead I settled for a wine that was just ok. The cappuccino were sub par. It's nice that they offer them but, the server was struggling to make them and you could tell. The tea was inexpensive and not the best quality or selection. I would expect more. Overall the server tried her best. I could tell she was frustrated by all of the issues that we were having, none of which were her fault. But, if this restaurant wants to stay at the top of Boston's food scene, they need to get their act together. There can't be no space for people to wait for their table and to have drinks, there can't be food being run out of and forgotten. There needs to be a premium experience all around. It just seemed like the restaurant was overwhelmed and didn't know what to do. I would say this restaurant is worth a try but probably not a second try. There are restaurants with just as good, if not better food with a 10x better experience. If I had a better experience I would have been more apt to come back. **side note: the manager was sitting at a table when we left and did not say a single word to us on the way out. I at least would have liked a "have a good night"
We made a reservation about 20 minutes before showing up on a Tuesday night. It was fairly empty, so we were sat right down. Our waitress was incredible and gave great recommendations across the board. We were guided to do about 2-3 dishes per person and landed on 6 total. They were all delicious.
Awesome for dinner! I made a reservation at Fox & The Knife after finding it on Yelp. The interior was modern and stylish, with dim lighting and neon signage. I usually don't love high-top seating, but our table was pretty comfortable. For drinks, I got a glass of Pinot Grigio, which was nice and crisp. For my first course, I ordered the Insalata di Indivia, which was different than I expected, but still very tasty. I just wish it had a bit more sweetness from the pear. I also tried a bit of my friend's Broccoli alla Griglia "Caesar", which was even better! I highly recommend ordering this as a starter. For my entree, I chose the Spaghetti con Vongole. This was absolutely delicious. The pasta was perfectly al dente and I loved the tomato butter sauce. Service was friendly and seamless! My friend is gluten-free and they brought out a special gluten-free menu for her and double-checked about dietary restrictions at least 3 separate times. Overall, we loved this spot for dinner!
A moody, romantic dinner setting - Fox & The Knife was a popular destination even at opening. We were lucky to get seated at the bar only 10 minutes after opening due to how many reservations they had, so make sure to get your seat in advance with time to look for street parking if driving. Portions were pretty small, so you are advised to get a couple to share. The flavors were strong and unique, but a couple dishes were overly seasoned. Service was quick and felt a tad rushed instead of being able to linger. Overall, it's a great spot for couples or small groups.
Great ambiance and service. My friend and I each ordered a pasta and 3 appetizers - the chickpeas and a salad. We're not huge eaters & still had leftovers. I'd recommend the focaccia! Yummy and fresh! The restaurant is right by south station and easy to access.
My husband and I are both big fans of chef Karen Akunowicz, so we knew we needed to come while we were in town. We intentionally came hungry because we knew we wanted to try everything. We stayed off with the piatti di Emilia, which had the most unique flavor. We loved the idea of this appetizer. We also knew we had to order the taleggio stuffed focaccia, which is as good as it looks. The show stopper for me was the dessert. I had an espresso martini paired with a chai affogato (chair gelato with a shot of espresso). Our only downfall, was we were sat very close to what seems like the only waiter POS station, so it was often loud and not very intimate. But I would definitely recommend a visit. The location is very accessible via the T.
We came to the Fox & the Knife for my boyfriend's birthday. When I made the reservation, I was asked the occasion and stated birthday (as one does when asked). When we arrived, his menu was printed with a personalized birthday wish with his name! I love the details! A+ hospitality. The restaurant was full on a Saturday night and I swear we got the best seat in the house. A corner table where we both got to sit on a booth. Thank you!!! The service was excellent throughout. The food was good, actually very good. But when the meal costs more than my monthly gym membership, I want everything to be extraordinary, ya know? Here's my feedback. Caveat: I'm particular (read: snobby) Stuffed focaccia: obviously it tastes good. It's bread stuffed with cheese. I was a little texturally disappointed as it was all super soft. The bread was soft, the cheese was soft. Do with that what you will. Broccoli Caesar: so delish. Lettuce is boring, and broccoli is fun. I really enjoyed this salad and everything about it Pepe e cacio: I've tried a lot of cacio e Pepe in the greater boston area and they all suck bc they aren't made properly. Notice the name change here. So smart. The dish was delicious. It wasn't pure cacio e Pepe (they use goat butter), but they never said it was, so hell yeah. Oh and the pasta itself--excellent!! Pollo: another word for chicken. The dish tasted good, but it wasn't special. I wouldn't order this again. It was a nice night with very good food overall. I wish we didn't end on the chicken. We probably would have been happier if we just had more pasta instead.
Bustling trendy spot with enthusiastic wait staff. Loved the open kitchen) The fried chickpeas were great as was the focaccia (but the focaccia was on the softer side). The pastas are the stars here. Had the bolognese, pepe e cacio, and the spaghetti con vongole. All were delicious and perfectly al dente but if I had to choose one would pick the spaghetti con vongole. The pesce fritti was very good. Had the orange creamsicle, chocolate torta and passion fruit panna cotta. I'd rate the orange creamsicle the best, follow by the panna cotta. A truly enjoyable experience.
Service really set the tone here. From the jump, Willie was incredibly knowledgeable about both the food and drinks, explaining dishes with confidence and genuine enthusiasm without ever being overbearing. He guided us through cocktails, helped pace a large table order effortlessly, and clearly knew the menu inside and out. You could tell he actually cares about what's coming out of the kitchen, which goes a long way. I also want to point out the attentiveness to allergies and their gluten free menu if requested. We ended up trying almost everything on the menu at Fox & the Knife, and there were some clear standouts. For starters, the Taleggio stuffed focaccia is an absolute must try. Warm, cheesy, indulgent, and exactly what you want to kick off a meal. The broccoli Caesar was also excellent, with a very bold and punchy Caesar and parmesan flavor that really delivered. The carne cruda and burrata were both done very nicely and met expectations for a high end Italian spot. Clean, fresh, and well executed. The chips and fried chickpeas are solid if you're having a round of drinks first, but they're more snackable fillers than must order items. Worth noting the pacing is fairly quick, so don't linger too long before appetizers. Food comes out fast. For pastas, the tagliatelle bolognese is hands down the star of the show. It's the largest portion on the table and also the most satisfying, with tender and flavorful meat and rich sauce. Easily the dish I'd come back for. The pollo al mattone was also a highlight. Incredibly juicy, tender, and cooked perfectly. A member also had the spaghetti and was very impressed. The mains were a bit more hit or miss. The steak was cooked well, but the portion was small and ultimately unremarkable. Nothing that would pull me away from a dedicated steakhouse. The milanese was good overall, but could have been crispier, and while the mustard sauce helped, it didn't fully make up for some dryness. Unfortunately, the chocolate torta was a miss for me. Hard and dry, and not the finish you'd hope for after such a strong meal. Overall, great energy, standout service, and some truly excellent dishes, especially the focaccia and bolognese. A few misses keep it from a perfect score, but still very much worth visiting, especially if Willie is taking care of your table.
I've been wanting to come to Fox & The Knife and snagged a reservation recently. It was a nice experience! I LOVE that they have a shellfish-free menu and other menus for specific food allergies. They'll also mark it up with any other specific notes for allergies, which I so appreciated. On the food side, the endive salad was lovely, with a lot of fun textures. The pistachios gave a welcome crunch and the yogurt on the side was unexpected but worked really well. They have an awesome foccacia stuffed with taleggio cheese--honestly, why aren't lots of other people putting cheese in their foccacia? Missed opportunity! I had spaghetti as my entree, which isn't something that I would usually order but it was good, although the other dishes were more standout for me. I finished the meal with the orange creamsicle, which was a more refined take on an old school creamsicle. The ice cream was my favorite part but the granita on top was also nice. My server, Suzannah, was super friendly and attentive, and I had a chef's table seat and enjoyed watching the kitchen work! Always one of my favorite things.
I was super excited to try this spot after receiving multiple recommendations from friends and this did not disappoint. Friendly hostess and a great waitress who provided recommendations for the current menu. She also mentioned to aim for 5 options as the portion sizes were small. Also, appreciated them accommodating my table swap from a bar seating to a table. The food was well seasoned and flavorful though a little pricey to be honest. The scallops were so good but $40 for two scallops as an entree was a bit questionable in terms of value but the broth was exquisite. I also enjoyed the raviolo carbonara which I found a fun take on a classic dish. Overall, a pretty cute spot and would love to come back and try out their other seasonal options!
Great for date night! Plates are small, but tasty. Tried the focaccia (must try), fried chickpeas, endive salad, vongole, bolognese, chicken, olive oil cake, and apricot sorbet. Desserts were just ok, but pastas and the rest are done very well!

This place is EXCELLENT. I especially wanted to come here after trying the chef's menu at Sapphire Lounge in Boston Logan. Obviously the restaurant menu is better, but the sapphire lounge blew my mind in terms of lounge food. Favorite dish was the burrata. Holy crap, that dish was so amazing. All of the ingredients were so well balanced. The fresh and milky taste of the burrata balanced with the acidity of the chard dressed in vinaigrette, all complemented by the nutty tones from the walnuts. The crispy shallots added both texture and even more complexity of flavor. Absolutely amazing. My second favorite dish was the mafaldini alla Funghi. The pasta was SO fresh and had the perfect chew. The mushrooms were bursting with umami! We got the fried chickpeas because they were hyped up on other reviews. They were a pretty good snack, but were overshadowed by the other dishes. The foccaccia is like a grilled cheese. Really good bread. Not sure if the cheese is necessary to elevate the bread, but I do love a grilled cheese. The Bolognese had really good pasta, but the sauce itself was just okay. Service and ambiance were excellent. I would 100% come back again, as I could see this being one of the best date spots in Boston. read more

My husband and I were incredibly impressed with this restaurant while visiting Boston. I made a reservation online and specified it was our anniversary. Upon arrival, we were not only wished a happy 3rd anniversary but they even printed it on our menus (which they also let us have). The ambiance was romantic but lively with moderate noise level. The open kitchen format is fun. We sat at a high top table and had Faith as our server. She was very nice and friendly. Since it was our first time here, she explained that the dishes are meant to be shared like family style. We ordered the Taleggio Stuffed Focaccia, Broccoli Alla Griglia "Caesar", Prosciutto e Melone, Agnolotti del Plin, and Milanese Di Maiale. Everything was not only delicious, flavorful, and well-seasoned but it all seemed to make sense and work together well even though we just picked 5 dishes from the menu. The Taleggio Stuffed Focaccia and the Broccoli Caesar are must tries! The amount of gooey cheese sandwiched within the focaccia was outrageous. My husband was skeptical about the Broccoli Caesar but then said it was the best broccoli he's ever had. My husband enjoyed the prosciutto and melon so much he devoured it. The agnolotti pasta is so delicately filled with braised beef. The Milanese was perfectly crispy but had complementary accoutrements that made it feel more fresh and vibrant. The whole meal was awesome but we never say no to dessert. We ordered the strawberry yuzu crostata with cereal milk ice cream. So good! I cannot express enough how wonderful everything was all around, especially the service. We were pleased with Faith as our server, but other staff also frequently came by our table to keep our water glasses filled and wish us a happy anniversary. A warm, welcoming dining experience which is very on-brand with this family style meal. My husband and I agree this was the best meal of our Boston trip. It checks all our boxes and we would 100 percent return if we are ever back in the area. read more

After a great conference in town, looking for a good taste to fight off the hotel catering, found Fox and The Knife as a good recommendation from friend familiar with the area of Boston I was visiting. Grabbed a seat at the bar and the friendly staffed welcomed me in and walked me thru the menu. It's order all at once so it comes out as a great experience for you. The broccoli Cesar was amazing and was the crispy pork! Shoot the entire meal hit the spot. The bar staff helped with a great wine to go with the meal and even desert wine with the dessert. Well executed Italian dishes with fresh ingredients in a cozy, romantic setting. You won't find better fresh made pasta than what you get at Fox and the Knife. I agree with some reviewers that the flavors tend to be on the subtle side rather than the super rich side that you get at many Italian places. Still delicious though! Our favorite dishes were the chili chickpeas, salmon, and blueberry dessert. I didn't know chickpeas could taste so good! So addicting and worth a try. I was very hyped and excited about this place because my boyfriend had heard about it and seen it being recommended everywhere. We finally got a last-minute reservation at the bar. However, the experience was disappointing, and honestly, I'm not sure if I would return. We sat down on a weekday night and immediately ordered the broccoli Caesar and three pastas because we were starving (we had eaten very little for lunch). Our server was friendly and nice. About 10-15 minutes later, we got the broccoli Caesar, which was really good. I had never had anything like this before. The crunch from the broccoli worked really well in this combo. Things started going downhill from there - our pastas were nowhere to be seen. We waited for about 30 minutes and flagged down our server. She said it would take 5-10 minutes. Another 30 minutes went by, and still nothing. At this point, we had been waiting for an hour since ordering and were exhausted, considering leaving. Finally, they started bringing out the pastas one by one. Spaghetti Vongole - This was my favorite and the highlight of the meal. If it weren't for this dish, I would give this place a 2/5. It was so buttery and flavorful, and the pasta's texture was on point. A must-try! Tagliatelle bolognese - This was good but nothing special. If you like bolognese, this might be for you, but I have definitely had better elsewhere. Raviolo carbonara - This is where things went wrong. The presentation was great, but when I cut into it, the edge of the pasta was still raw (shown in pictures). My boyfriend had a couple of bites from the middle, and he said it was good. I informed the server and showed her the raw pasta. She was immediately apologetic and went back to the kitchen. Then she came back and offered me a new one. However, at this point, I didn't want to wait another 30 minutes for a new pasta, so I declined. She said they would take it off the bill, which I appreciated very much. A manager-like lady also came by later to check on us. She apologized again and reassured us that we would not be charged for it. Overall, the service was great, but I think the kitchen might be too small or understaffed. It was a big place with a tiny kitchen and only one chef making the pastas. If it took this long on a weekday, I don't know how long I'd have to wait on a weekend. TLDR: The spaghetti vongole was amazing, but it took an hour for all the pasta to come out. So, if you have time and don't mind waiting, this place is worth a try. The service and management were also on point. Oh also Raviolo carbonara was raw. read more

An outstanding dining experience. I was seated at the chef's bar, and I definitely had a pleasant show. The chef's are quiet and professional in their demeanor. The food is delicious. And the service is attentive. I started with the fried garbanzo beans - health food! Those little devils hold heat, so try not to burn your mouth (that may or may not have happened...). They have enough salt to expand their flavor, and a spicy bite to make them memorable. Next I had the prosciutto and meloni. The melon was lightly sweet and juicy, and they went so well with the thinly slice prosciutto- topped with olive oil and seasoning - just yum! Then we move to the carbonara raviolo - a single very large raviolo with fresh pasta, seasoned risotto, and a perfect egg yolk inside. On top was a light sauce and pieces of pancetta. My sadness was not having bread to sop up the sauce The finale was a strawberry crostata with vanilla ice cream (maybe gelato?). The crust was soft, which was pleasurable compared to those that have a hard dough without enough filling. If you have the time, wander around South Boston to find this culinary gem. You will find something (and maybe many somethings) to tempt your palate and delight your senses. read more

I had an enjoyable dinner at Fox and the Knife with my mom tonight! It wasn't hard to get a reservation considering the popularity of this place, but we did come on a Thursday night and made it a few weeks in advance. Service was excellent. Our server was so nice and accommodating. All the dishes were paced very well- appetizers then entrees, dessert, etc. Did not feel rushed at all. I think they definitely have some standout menu items that are delicious but some others that are just average. The standouts I absolutely loved were the broccoli Caesar and the focaccia. Get those!! We didn't try any of the pastas but I think they are supposed to be good as well. Overall, great meal, great service, and nice atmosphere. read more
The fox and the knife has been on my must try list for so long ever since I heard about their broccoli Caesar which was a great start to the meal. Broccoli Caesar (5/5) The croutons are super crispy and the dressing is delicious so I had super high expectations for the rest of the meal. Pasta (4/5) The pasta was great too but a little on the salty side ... I would say the same applies to the majority of the food we had. I read some reviews that the pasta portions were large but I personally didn't find that to be the case. Normal to small portions on the pasta. Artichoke (4/5) The sauce with the fried artichokes was great and overall the dish was yummy but we got so many super fried leaves and very few actual artichoke hearts which was a bummer. Branzino (3.5/5) To be fair my bf loved this (I wasn't the biggest fan) there are lots of great textures, crunchy fennel, soft fish etc but I found the dish quite overwhelming. Every flavor was too punchy and I couldnt get a good grip on what tasted like what when I was eating. Dessert (3/5) eh it was fine - nothing spectacular to write home about but definitely nice if you want to end your meal with something sweet! Overall, the food was good but I feel like because this place was hyped up so much it was hard to meet my expectations! read more
Came back for a second dining experience and sat inside. I finally got a good look at the inside. It's warm woods and you see the chef's and bartenders doing there business. Food is always excellent and service is always professional and knowledgeable. This time around I of course got another spritz to start, than a lovely Chardonnay for my main. Started w/ the aperol spritz and fried chickpeas with chili it was a nice start. Than I got the broccoli "Caesar" even if you don't like broccoli you will like this and you could share it with a second person. Than the pork disk of and yes it's easier to copy the menu's info: MILANESE DI MAIALE Crispy Pork, Saffron Aioli, Honeycrisp Apples It was delicious and I could not finish it Than last the chocolate olive oil cake cause I'm not a quitter w/ vanilla gelato. It's a really special place and if your in Boston get a reservation to this South Boston gem. You won't regret it. read more

Love this place. 5/5 went solo and ate at the bar. Great cozy bar vibe with open kitchen. A little noisy though The theme here is simple dishes with fresh ingredients. Non pretentions. just a whole lotta love in the food. Proof you dont need foie gras or truffles in every dish to be delicious. Started with the liver mousse 5/5 came with with some well done flavorful crispy bread to spread on. The mousse was very delicate and creamy. No mineral taste at all just savory and delicious 2nd was the broccoli Caesar. Charred crispy broccoli with a lovely cesser dressing. Full of flavor and delicious aged parmesan cheese. Very simple and very delicious 5/5 tagliatelle bolognese was my main course. The wild boar was also very delicate. Light flavor wish it was a bit more bold but still delicious. The pasta was perfectly cooked and had a very light spice to it. Small portion but still filled me up 4.5/5 Dessert I had some strawberry dish on tope of some croissants like base. It was simple reaching light and absolutely delicious. It is seasonal for summer so get this before it's gone. I will come here again and highly recommend everyone who comes here 5/5 read more
Overall pretty good experience. The place is really nice, great atmosphere. I was by myself so I sat at the chefs table and I highly recommend to. I started with the gnocco fritto which was good but they should not add any cheese or olive oil to it as the mortadella was good enough on it. Then had the focaccia, which really good and cheesy. The pasta allergy vongole was a bit of a disappointment, too much going on and the fish was not flavorful at all. For second course the Milanese which was a great size and really delicious. I asked for a lemon to squeeze onto it which was a great call. Ended the meal with the chocolate olive oil cake which was really good and light. read more
Dinner at foxandknife was absolutely AMAZING!! Chef Karen Akunowicz is an amazing chef, and it shows in her food! The foccocia alone makes me want to go again and again! I had the whole Branzino, and the salsa verde was the chefs kiss!! Dessert was a deconstructed orange cream dream and a chocolate olive oil cake. I can't decide which was my favorite because they both were so good. The service is also top-notch! It was fun to watch the chefs cook! The GM Mo was beyond nice and so friendly! The mister planned dinner here for my birthday - pleasant surprise as we loved Chef Karen Akunowicz on Food Network's Tournament of Champions. We lucked out and found parking a block down but the website says the hotel down the street will provide valet as well. The restaurant is very welcoming with minimalist decor - nothing too fru fru - let's eat! It was a Friday night so it was jam packed! We were seated in a lovely corner booth and what a lovely surprise that they printed out a personal menu just for yours truly! We ordered some drinks, the taleggio stuffed focaccia, grilled octopus crostini, ravioli carbonara, Milanese de maiale (crispy pork) and the tagliatelle bolognese. Our waitress suggested staggering our selections which worked out perfectly. My favorite was the octopus - great balance of flavors and the grilled octopus was cooked very nicely. We ended with the olive oil chocolate cake that was moist and delicious! Our service was good but the kitchen seemed a bit slow to get our food out. We were there for a total of 3 hours - seemed a bit long for all that we ordered. Food was good but not great but ambience was great and restaurant was lovely. Nice touches in the bathroom with providing a lot of necessities for the just in case - they provide bobby pins and hair ties! That's a first! Overall, we really did enjoy our night and it made for a lovely evening! read more

WOW! A new Italian favorite. Service: 5/5, Talia was one of the highlights of the night-- spontaneous, thoughtful, energetic, timely, and delightful presence. - prompt food and seating (with reservation) Ambience: 5/5, open kitchen concept meets classy dining, w room for all dress codes - gorgeous toilets (with mints, floss, and tide sheets!) Food: 5/5, I'm an admittedly harsh critic who simply couldn't fault the food. From the brussel sprouts and broccoli salad, to the bacon ravioli, clam spaghetti, pork chop, cappuccino, espresso martini, olive oil chocolate cake... perfection! Second time here and I'm happy to say that the food did not disappoint. Kitchen is out in the open and I I appreciate the transparency. Wait staff were courteous and efficient, though the hostess got annoyed when we asked for different seats when they tried to place us on stools. My girlfriend and I look younger than we are so maybe she didn't expect it, but we didn't appreciate the attitude. Wanted to give a 5 because the food is amazing, but I don't like being treated like a second-class guest. Rosemary focaccia: best focaccia I've had. Soft, savory, and stuffed with cheese Broccoli "Caesar": really nice spin on the classic Caesar, but with broccoli instead of romaine. The charred broccoli and citrusy dressing make for a great flavor Spaghetti con vangole: my favorite dish of the night. Tangy and salty and spaghetti was cooked perfectly Tagliatelle: rich in flavor and delicious, but a little salty for my taste. I usually use less salt when cooking at home, so this is not meant to take away from the quality of the dish Torta do tagliatelle: delicious and well baked. The almond crust was wonderful and the peach purée with crème fresh complimented the dessert nicely The check comes with blood Orange meringues. I came here for a date night and was met with exceptional service from start to finish! Our waitress was very attentive and gave us amazing recommendations. Every dish we tried was absolutely delicious. We only wish we had a bigger appetite so we could have tried the whole menu! read more
Had an item from each section of the menu. I forgot all their names. BUT I do remember the flavors were there, and I really enjoyed their take on fish. Service was a little slow but it was packed. Ambiance was good - very modern and intimate. read more

My girlfriend and I came here for Valentine's Day dinner and had a wonderful time. We had a reservation in advance and sat at the bar. The restaurant is dim and provides a romantic ambience. It is a little bit loud, but not terribly so. The bar tender made our drinks with care and they were delicious! For dinner, we ordered the potato chips, prosciutto, focaccia, broccoli Caesar salad, mushroom pasta and the spaghetti con vogole. All the food we ordered tasted amazing and the pastas were perfectly cooked with great presentation. Each noodle was al dente and not overly salted. There were two things I had a gripe about: the pastas took quite a while to come out after our appetizers, and second, the potato chips we ordered were Lay's chips. Not that I have a problem with Lay's, but I would have thought a restaurant of this caliber would have their own homemade potato chips. The menu did not specify that the chips were Lay's. Overall, it was a nice experience but I felt a little let down by the chips. I would come back for the pasta! read more

Absolutely D E L I C I O U S. I need to go back immediately. First off- the restaurant is beautiful inside. Modern but also farmhouse vibes. I am not a huge fan of high tops but the food and experience made it all worth it. We have recently moved to the area and we have a love for trying out new spots. Coming to Fox and The Knife was a total experience. Our waiter was informative, impressive and he made our first time such a joy. I have thought about the food since we left on Sunday night. We started out with the chopped broccoli caesar salad, chili fried chickpeas and the stuffed focaccia. The salad was bursting with so much flavor and you could tell every ingredient was so fresh. The chickpeas got you hooked- such a unique thing to have on the menu. The focaccia was some of the best bread I have ever had in my life. Bolognese and the Mafaldini were dishes we would get again. Very solid, good portion sizes and had so many flavors. The pasta was a 10/10. Orange creamsicle shaved iced/ vanilla scoop was the actual perfect summer treat. It was the best way to end the dinner! My friend and I came by for a long-awaited Sunday dinner - reservations are not the easiest to come by (especially on weekends) so definitely plan ahead! We had the pepe e cacio and the tagliatelle bolognese to pastas - both really great! The pepe e cacio had a really balanced flavour, with just the right amount of cheese and pepper to complement the noodles super well. Tagliatelle was great, too - very flavourful ground pork in a fragrant sauce. We also got the pork milanese which was definitely the highlight! The juice and tender meat was fried perfectly and even the side veggies (with a really light, sweet sauce) were so yummy. We finished with a slice of chocolate cake (I forgot what it was called exactly) but it was just the right sweetness for my taste - a great conclusion. One of the highlights was also the the service - everyone we interacted, from the front of house to all of the servers, were so helpful, enthusiastic, and attentive. Where shall I begin?! My sisterfriend treated me to a celebration of life dinner in October at this place. I was skeptical a first because...location. Bu this place did not disappoint! The restaraunt was dimly lit and had a sizable bar with hightop and low top tables. Our waitress was amazing, although the restaraunt was very busy given it was a 7/8pm on a Saturday. She was attentive and had thorough knowledge about the menu items. Along with drinks (all great) we ate the olives, spaghetti with clams, branzino, and topped it all off with the sorbet which was honey, and some fruity flavor that is lost on me. There were no complaints at all! We honestly could've eaten these dishes a second time, that's how fresh and perfectly paired they were! read more

First night in Boston and I'm so glad this was right beside our hotel, cause we were starving. It was a busy night but despite that the hosts still made an effort to find us a seat for 2 which I greatly appreciated . We ordered the Caesar salad, the Mafaldini, milanese di mailale, Milano gold rush (cocktail) , Ferrari (drink), and dessert. Overall our experience was the best we came back 2 more times before our trip ended. Great service & delicious food, just make sure you bring good company to top off your experience. read more

Are they wheelchair accessible?
Not exactly, but I am sure they can accommodate in the dining room. The powder room would be the problem, it's downstairs. The staff is excellent and would likely be helpful.
Where is the best place to sit for birthday celebration for 2 guest , main dinning or chef's counter?
Chefs counter or bar! Super great vibes there you can have a drink waiting for you when you come in and if you specify a birthday they will print it on a menu!
Would it be unusual (or frowned upon) to bring older kids here (12 and 8)? I've been wanting to try this restaurant but we will have our kiddos with us.
Children would be fine, tables are tight not allowing any wiggle room.
Are there any vegan options here?
Definitely! A lot of the dishes include cheese, but for the most part it is added, not cooked in, so you can ask them to hold it. Tell your server you are a vegan and I am sure they will work with you. It's a fantastic restaurant!
