And I'm sure I'm joining the chorus of praise for the company who's embraced being the battery champs. A quick set-up and maybe a cautionary tale. My car had been starting slowly and I thought I would wait for my annual inspection to get the battery checked. But yesterday, I went to the grocery and as I went in the rear deck wouldn't open. Tried the remote, the switch on the deck and on the dash. Nothing. When I came out of the store, the remote wouldn't unlock the doors. I manually opened the door and in my Oh-S moment I prayed. Thankfully it started. I had to do something NOW. I drove immediately to AutoZone, went inside and Dominic left the counter immediately. He tested the battery: One cell was dead and the battery was draining fast. He and his coworkers worked together to find a high quality, warranted replacement. He and his coworkers also worked together to get the battery swapped out free of charge. Recycling of the old battery was free, too. In desperate, out relieved in 30-minutes. "Hallelujah AutoZone"

After two attempts at repairs/updates using AutoZone parts that failed or were incorrect for the application, OEM parts were requested and installed. They worked great until they didn't (at the end of May 2025)--the timing gear broke and caused catastrophic engine failure. I relied on AutoZone management promises to cover my and the mechanic's extra costs, including a new engine. I ultimately had to order and pay for a new engine and its installation at the end of July of 2025. I have been trying since then to seek compensation from AutoZone with no success. They have copies of all invoices from myself and the mechanic along with a timeline recap of all activities and costs. I have stayed in contact with AutoZone corporate representatives that assure me that my claim is being handled. It is now August 31, 2026, and I have not received any notifications (unless I email or call them) or compensation. I cannot recommend AutoZone for their parts or their guarantee/warranty they make on their parts or their statements their representatives make.

My Honda CR-V battery died and I was unable to start the car which was parked in my garage. I took my truck to pick up a new battery. George provided advice on the best battery for the car. He then carried it out to my truck. He must have noticed the disabled veteran plates on the truck and asked if I was a veteran. When I replied affirmatively, he told me that Advance Auto Parts gave a military discount. He went back into the store and adjusted my receipt to give the discount. He then asked if I had someone to install the battery. When I said no, he volunteered to come to my house after work (on his own time) to install it for me. I recently found a higher quality rebuilt alternator at A-Line for less money than the 3 big chains in town. They also loaned me tools to swap out the fan shroud that I forgot to remove at home. I almost turned it in and they made sure that I swapped it on the spot to make sure that it fit and aligned properly. One big differentiator for A-Line is that they can resurface heads (and I would assume rotors) with a full machining shop. I will always check with them first when searching for replacement parts.
