This was my 4th visit to this location and the food was always decent . Not the best BBQ in the world but authentic enough. On previous visits I got canned soda out of their ice bucket to drink (they don't have a drink machine or ice dispenser) but on this most recent visit I got sweet tea. As I was checking out I asked the cashier where I get ice for the tea. She quickly responded "it's already made". I had no idea what she meant. So I looked around and asked her again. She then was clearly annoyed and pushed two pre-made cups of ice that were sitting next to the tea dispenser and exclaimed "THEY'RE ALREADY MADE!". I honestly thought that those cups were someone else's ice. A few things are wrong with this interaction. (1) She didn't really explain what to do. After this rude interaction, I sat down to eat my food. As I ate, I saw others checking out, who were equally as confused about the ice. She was equally unhelpful and rude to them. She could have simply said "There are some pre made cups of ice to your left there". (2) If this is how they are dispensing ice, it is wrong!!! It needs to be freshly scooped ice, as people order, not sitting out on a counter in a public space (health code violation?) (3) As I watched her prepare more pre-made ice cups she didn't use a scoop, but rather the cups themselves to gather ice (health code violation?). I'm pretty sure this is not to code. Probably wouldn't go back. The whole interaction was just weird. As I ate, I watched this cashier be rude and short with just about every other guest during the lunch rush. They were a bit busy, but she just wasn't a good cashier - and this is from my experience of working in fast food in high school/college. read more

We should have known better. it's actually sad as the original location is still good as always. The service was decent but it had a fast food feel, the wings were the driest meat I've ever eaten . Horrible customer service! Unbelievable, hostile response when I asked an employee where to go to pick up my online order. First she ignored me until I repeated the question, then she shrugged, turned away, and said "I don't know! have a seat or have a glass of water whatever! " I tried to politely explain. I had never been there before and did not know where to physically go for the order and she walked away about 5 feet and then complained within earshot about "people "! The other woman at the counter tried to make up for her fellow employee's ridiculously rude behavior and calmly explained that I could have a seat and they would call my name, which was a pretty simple piece of information I was looking for. The second woman threw in a banana pudding as well and said she would speak to the other employee as if this was a common occurrence. Just ate here for lunch, so it's fresh on my mind. I had 1/2 pound brisket (both a fatty and an end cut), a sausage, two spare ribs, and green beans. I know that's a ton of food, going to eat half it for dinner haha. I have to say, generally it was very good. The plate came with two large pieces of bread and dill pickles. Spare ribs were the star of the show. idk what they put in that rub but it's delicious. The ribs were also cooked perfectly. Fantastic. The sausage was extremely juicy and had some nice extras in there. I believe I detected jalapeno and possibly whole garlic cloves? Great flavor. The brisket was the only thing that I wasn't completely sold on. I know brisket is hard to do and this is a new location, so possibly getting some kinks worked out. The brisket was cooked perfectly, so I have no qualms about that. It was a good cut of meat too, very moist. However, I found it really lacked a strong smoke flavor. The crust flavor was also a bit muted. Not sure what happened, maybe the wood used today wasn't the perfect quality. It was still delicious but I'd like more smoke/grill flavor to come out. I also have to say it was super fun ordering through the line. You could tell everything was cooked fresh (as it should be). The staff working the counter were very friendly and very accommodating. TL;DR: You can definitely read my review for the other fox bros because it's just as good! ARRIVAL: The Works has 2 free hours of parking, but you need to register your vehicle for the free parking. It can also sometimes be hard to find parking depending on if there's an even here or not. If you do pick up, there's a good number of 15 mins spots that are convenient! AMBIANCE: It has a bit of a diner feel with typical BBQ join interior? They don't have so much seating that the space gets too loud even during weekend dinner so it's not horribly loud. MENU: They have sandwiches, combo plates (choose the meats from below), sides, drinks. They have fairly standard options. DRINKS: They have alcoholic and zero proof options! They don't have bottled sodas. FOOD: Honestly, everything I have tried here is good or great (at both locations). I usually get a 2 meat combo plate with sliced fatty brisket and smoked wings (not listed as an option but is one) and fox-a-roni (also not a listed side but is, which is a mac and cheese with brunswick stew) and collard greens (bc hello you have to be healthy). The smoked wings vary a bit in size, but are very juicy and have a lot of smokey flavor. The brisket has always been moist without being TOO fatty and not overcooked. I prefer the fox a roni over the mac and cheese. The mac and cheese alone is very thick and flavor is a bit one dimensional so the addition of the brunswick stew thin it out a bit and add a great flavor profile but you still get a lot of cheesy goodness. CLEANLINESS: The times i've dined in, the tables were a bit dirty. Sticky and had crumbs on the tables and seats. SERVICE: Service has always been friendly and servers are always happy to discuss the menu in detail. PRICE: Fair price for the great food. We've been going to their original location for 15+ years and love their bbq and sides. The new location is very different. You walk in and order your meat by the pound, then walk down a line to get your sides, kinda like Moe's. My short rib was $30 a pound, $47 total before sides which were $8 each. My rib was beautifully cooked, but lacked some smoke flavor and spice. My Brunswick stew almost tasted like canned stew; not sure it had any bbq in it. The burnt end chili that we love at the original location; didn't have any bbq in it. My wife's pulled pork sandwich was a better value. Lunch for 2 with ice tea, was almost $100 with tip. No alcoholic drinks. The menu is limited, no Lopez tator tots or frito pie. No draft beer. Lacked ambiance. If you live close by you might try it, the meat was good, but we'll be going back to the original location so we can get a whole plate for $25. read more

Brookhaven Fox Bros bbq was good not the best like the main location. Also received a quart container of bbq sauce as they do not have the bottle Fox Bros bbq sauce at this location? Didn't not need the quart sauce as we already had three Fox Bros BBQ bottled sauce at home. Also I did not get a receipt for my takeout order and was missing few items: chocolate bread pudding - the dessert of the day and no crackers that supposed to come with my pimento cheese dip and fried chicken ribs. Husband said he had to go back inside to get fried chicken ribs and did not realized the dessert was also missing. No sliced bread or cornbread offerings either. Brookhaven Fox Bros bbq was good not the best like the main location on Dekalb Avenue. I honestly enjoyed Fox Brothers barbecue. This was my first time at the restaurant in general and I chose this location because it was near my home. I went on an early Saturday evening, and they were already out of macaroni and cheese.... I guess that I need to come another time to try it! Other than that, I got the chopped brisket sandwich and the green beans. Amazing! The barbecue sauce was delicious and the green beans were seasoned to perfection. I will definitely have to return to try the smoked wings. I told the lady at the front it was my first time and she explained the whole menu to me. I found a booth and sat down, waited for a menu to be brought to me til I realized I was supposed to scan a code to get the menu. I scanned the code. Only sides came up, so I searched for the BBQ choices and thete were none. So I got up to ask how I was supposed to order when no meat was on the menu. My partner loves the Inman park location and has been very excited that we got there finally to eat. The best term for our experience was sterile. The space is clean and barren. Half the staff was polite and the other half seemed bored and a bit resentful to be asked questions. Sides are good sized portions but exceedingly bland. I put their spicy sauce on the broccoli Slaw to give it some flavor. The 6 oz of brisket on the sandwich was dry and bland - more spicy sauce. They used raw red onions the sandwich and slaw which were so strong the table reeked. 2 sandwiches, 4 sides, a pudding and a coke should of cost $60.00 especially for bland food. Cannot say for sure that Fox brothers caused this but I am glad we went straight home and no plans for the evening Needless to say we will not be returning read more

Completely different concept than their other locations - should be called Fox Bros To Go! Limited menu options and no alcohol. I'm dairy free and I ordered a brisket sandwich and a sausage link on the side. I was shocked when I cut into the sausage and it was filled with cheese - something that was not noted on any of the menus. Lastly, the sides are VERY small for the price- two to three bites max and served in a cup similar to what you would use for condiments. The current pictures of the sides on Yelp are the shareable size, not the $5 individual size. It seems like they are still working out the kinks. read more

This new concept with a limited menu reminds me of a bait and switch-thinking you are getting certain menu items which were not available. I was disappointed that the hamburger was not available. So I went for the brisket which was served cold. I ordered the string beans and Mac and Cheese, both of which were excellent. Portions were generous. We selected two local beers which were $8.00 each. That's about what I paid for a six pack at Kroger. Way overpriced. The restaurant interior was bare boned fast food. Like a Five Guys. I feel bad, as the restaurant was basically empty. I'd like to see Fox Bros succeeding at this location and if something isn't done to improve the product and service, I doubt that this restaurant will make it. In total we paid $68.00 for a sub par fast food experience - cold brisket served on a sheet of paper with two sides in plastic tubs along with two cans of beer.
