We ordered a board as an appetizer and waited close to 35 minutes for it before our server realized she never rang it up. We were upset as we wanted something to snack on as we waited for our meal. She offered to quickly have it made, but our food was almost ready and it did not make sense to us anymore at that point. But no other resolution was offered. The food was great, but it took a while to get our food. It didnt seem to be busy, yet they where slow. Im sure if we had our appetizer, we wouldnt have noticed the 45 minute wait. We loved the cheesecake and the mocha cake! Drinks where very nice and strong. Overall, i loved it here. Hopefully next time ill be able to get my board!

It was a really good experience. We started with the baked Brie appetizer and it was delicious ( forgot to photograph that). I'm a vegetarian and love the fried zucchini sandwich but today's lunch special was a spaghetti squash special and it was delicious! I highly recommend it. Hubby had the smash burger and fries and all was good. I had a special cocktail called Blue Eyes something that was very refreshing. Elise gave us very good service and as always, I got a piece of Tropical Cake to go, that will last for days. Other than parking being tough, this is a great place for girls days, lunch with the hubby, etc.

The burnt ends were very good. I appreciate they are big chunks of brisket with no pull pork filler. The flavor was amazing as well and the bits of fat melted in our mouth. The corn nuggets were fine and the Mac N Cheese was quite tasty. We enjoyed the meal so much, were were trying to figure out somewhere for a family lunch the next Sunday and came back again. This time my sister, son and I brought my dad. We of course ordered more wings and burnt ends and brisket with lots of Mac N Cheese. The food really is something special. The wings are absolutely wonderful and the burnt ends are a hit. This is definitely one of my new favorite restaurants and will always be on my list of visits to enjoy when I come back to Jax.

I have gone back and forth about this review and finally decided to post my insight into this owner and his nasty behavior. My husband and I visited this restaurant for the first time a little over a month ago. While were standing at the door waiting to be greated we are told to get out of the doorway by who we now know was the owner. RUDE. When we were seated we were greated by a waitress after almost 10 mins sitting there. We gave our order and waiting another 45 mins before we were served. While sitting there of course we were looking around and watching the servers for some clue that they were coming back and at least bring our drinks. I noticed this one woman standing over at the counter where they put in orders and also pick them up, as she was standing there she kept putting her hand down the back of her pants ,and then back up to her waist. I pointed this out and of course my husband having grown up with a parent that worked in the food industry was completely disturbed. Our food finally came, cold and so we finished up and went to leave. As we were walking out the door,we were again greeted by the same rude person, he asked how our food was, I was just going to leave as I didnt eat mine, and we still paid the bill, but my husband asked him to step to the side so he could speak to him. The man asked us to go outside so he can talk, fine we went out the door, where a line had formed to get into this place. My husband said " you might want to tell the girl in there in the black pants to keep her hand out of the backside of her pants, as it doesnt look good. NOW HERE IS THE POINT- THIS MAN LITERALLY SAID TO MY HUSBAND "WHY DONT. YOU SPEND YOUR TIME LOOKING AT YOUR FOOD AND NOT AT MY WIFE'S ASS!!!! YES HIS RUDE HORRIBLE ASS ACTUALLY SAID THAT! NOT TO MENTION THAT IF WE HAD CONTACTED THE HEALTH DEPT, THIS PLACE COULD BE FINED OR SHUT DOWN. AS THERE WERE OTHER VIOLATIONS AS WELL. INSTEAD OF SAYING "YOU KNOW I AM SORRY AND I WILL TAKE CARE OF THAT THANK YOU" . HELL NO HE WANTS TO INSULT US WITH SUCH A TRASH ASS REMARK. I have been frequenting the Fox for 25 years and have always enjoyed friendly service with staff and Ian Chase, proprietor.. until last Sunday. I was treating my daughter to lunch and was 30 seconds ahead of her as she was locking her vehicle. I entered, found a clean booth and sat my aged 68 year old self down to a nasty waitress who immediately ORDERS me to vacate the booth and stand by the door. A couple behind me witnessed the abuse and 'they' apologized to me for the tactless staff. I agreed that it was 'rude' behavior but exited the booth immediately and without any objection. At that time, a delusional Ian Chase inserted himself, ordered me out and followed me to the sidewalk.Then he ordered me off the public sidewalk! I am an uber driver and one of the cooks of The Fox Resturaunt told me about the restaurant as I gave hime a ride to work. A very nice young man they call Q. will look it up and decided to take my fiancée. Oh my it was great. We arrived Sunday mornig abou 8 40 and the was a line. I knew then it must be good. We eere not disappointed. I had the corn beef and it was on point. My fiancée had the french toast, it was so tasty and fluffy. The services was amazing and the owner were a delight. I have seen this place with a line out the door and thought I'd stop one morning. The atmosphere is fun and local, reminds me a little more of 5 points trendy vs. Avondale snooty. Service was okay but I was unimpressed by the food. I ordered the corned beef hash and it was hot but just a pile of mush. Diner hash should be crispy. Biscuit was dry and bland.
