Small restaurant in Pawtucket with a cozy feel but dated interior. I went here with friends for breakfast and would recommend it.....Good service, with the Chef/owner actually making the rounds around the tables (nice touch). I had an omelette (I believe called the Fifth Avenue) with mushrooms and Italian sausage, good but not great. On a side note try the Corned Beef hash it's delicious! Parking is a little tight.....all in all worth a try! read more

This is a new, adorable spot right of Pawtucket Ave. It's a Mexican-inspired bruch spot with wonderful staff. The service: Our waitress was just so sweet and explained the menu extremely well. She had a wonderful smile and she really made the whole experience! The food: We ordered the Camarones Jalapeños and asked for it to be extra spicy. It wasn't as spicy as we wanted it to be (but maybe they didn't realize our spice-tolerance!). The shrimp was not as fresh as I would have hoped, but the flavor profile was very interesting and unlike something I've had before. We probably wouldn't order it again, but didn't regret ordering it that time. I also ordered the special chorizo omellete which was very tasty! Had a side of Portuguese sweet bread - which was actually my favorite part. The bread was soft and wonderfully sweat. The ambience: The space is small and we were simply lucky we got a table - a couple before us had got up right when we walked in. If not for that, we would have had to wait much longer. Our table was agaisnt the wall and only complaint was it was a bit cramped. We only ordered two things, but when the hot sauce/salt/pepper/coffee items all came out we barely had rooms for our utensils! I noticed people having to scoot their chair in to let other people walk by as well. read more

Breakfast is soooo good. The portions are huge and the service was fast. I would say that the decor is confusing for a Mexican restaurant because it looks like americana but other than that two thumbs up. Go for the breakfast special between 7 and 9 AM. read more

This place is great! Been coming to this location under all the management changes over the last 2 years, multiple times. Not sure why this place continues to do so poorly...It's a shame! APPEARANCE: The restaurant itself looks like the cutest little house from the outside, but a bit cramped with tables, chairs and booths in the inside. It looked like it couldn't serve more than 25 - 30 people at a time. That's cramped AF. We were asked to seat ourselves, so we did just that. While seated at the table though, I noticed a stand with instructions on how to leave a Google review.So to me that unnecessary and slightly aggressive seeing as how no one is obligated to leave feedback or a review of any kind especially on Google. FOOD: I ordered a waffle, eggs scrambled, turkey bacon, home fries and coffee. My girl, ordered strawberry French toast. Her food was great! My waffle on the other hand was anything but. It was soft and doughy. It turned to mush the moment I put syrup on it which was throughly disappointing. I unfortunately didn't have time to let them know, regardless, anyone with eyes could see that waffle was undercooked and they served it anyway. My home fries needed SEASONING of some sort. My eggs, bacon and coffee though we're spot on delicious! SERVICE: The restaurant was obviously run by a family, and as adorable as that is, it's not the best atmosphere for it. Our sever got busy and went missing longer that she should have before we placed our order. She then took my girls order and came back 10 mins later for mine. *Not how you do things. On top of me placing my order, our server commented on how much I was ordering and said that it would be to much. I quickly let her know that I eat like this all the time, and she sarcastically responded with a good for you. *DON'T HATE Then our food came out mins apart and mine still wasn't what it should have been. Regardless, I ate my food and the waffle because I was paying for it. Someone did a table visit. Didn't introduce himself but did ask how everything was. We nodded and kept chewing. The prices were ok, and so was the food. I'd consider visiting again when I have more time and to sit and enjoy my entire meal and not just my sides. read more

What a freaking hidden gem! I was waiting for an appointment, and I was starving so I drove by and thought "ok, this place looks like I can get in and out quickly.." Firstly, the service was so great. I sat down and was immediately given a glass of water, and throughout my time there, it never even got below half empty (or half full-- depending on your outlook on life.. lol). Also, all the servers were sooo nice and really seemed to vibe well with the crowd that was there. I ordered the vegan Reuben. I was actually pretty impressed that they had a couple of really good vegan/vegetarian options. It was really, really tasty. Had fresh avocados and lettuce and had a bit of spice that I liked. Full disclosure, I don't even have dietary restrictions and I ordered it because I wanted something that wasn't going to make me feel super bloated. This was exactly what I needed. I got a side of coleslaw (not vegan), and it was also light and tasty. If you're looking for a vegan side, they have vegan potato salad. It is literally my go-to breakfast spot right now and it happens to be two minutes from my house! I first had it using Uber Eats since then I've dined in 2 times and probably had take out 4-5 times. The breakfast is flavorful and good size portions ! Not huge but not stingy either. I have no idea what type of Ham they use but it's delicious!!!! My guy LOVES it! We've only had breakfast, they do have lunch as well. It's super small restaurant so peak time Saturday or Sunday morning is tight but on a random week day, you can be in & out. Since my name is also Francesca I HAD to go see what's good with this place. I'm a vegan, so typically my options are limited at brunch spots and I end up getting a fruit cup and home fries lol. HOWEVER, I was pleasantly surprised to see that they had many options for vegans! You can sub tofu scramble for eggs, they have vegan bacon, plant based omelettes, fresh fruit & almond milk for your coffee the place was busy but we lucked out and got a seat right away although it seems there could be a wait sometimes. Slammin' Took my family here for Sunday brunch because our normal spot was packed. This place did not disappoint at all. The food was amazing. The prices were great. The homemade hash is probably the best hash I have ever had. We left full and happy. Definitely going to have to come back to this place. read more

Can honestly say I've had way better. I've never been to a breakfast place before that doesn't serve a bagel. I got a veggie burger, however I don't understand how they can call it vegan when they put mayonnaise on it. The burger patty itself crumbled as soon as you started to eat it so I wore more of the burger than I ate! They charged me over five dollars for a side of guacamole. I literally needed a tablespoon to put on top of my burger. Was not impressed and will not go back. read more

Food was decent , but they messed up 2 out of our 3 meals and refused to remove anything from the bill. I had eggs over easy with no cheese or jalapeños. They arrived full of cheese and jalapeño so we sent them back. When they came back the second time, they were over hard and bits of cheese were still on the plate (which I am allergic to). Clearly they never remade them and had no regard for allergies. The other meal they messed up was a burger. We specified NOTHING on it because it was for a kid and it ended up covered with mayo. They gave us a new burger that was overdone. When we asked that only one of the two messed up dishes be removed from the check they refused, offering an apology instead repeating how busy they were in the kitchen. We left overcharged, unsatisfied with our meal, and with stomach pains. Be wary of going here if you have any food allergies. read more

After seeing so many wonderful reviews on this place we finally decided to stop in for breakfast. It is cute, the food was delicious and they are all so friendly. I ordered the hash omelette and it was perfect. Quick, inexpensive and fresh quality ingredients seem to be what they pride themselves in. I found this place on YELP looking to try something new. Needless to say, I found my new favorite spot for American/ Spanish food. So far I have been twice and both times,The quality of the food was excellent!!! The taste proves that they use fresh ingredients, absolutely delicious!!! Guacamole made to order!!! I have had a shrimp plate and also the carne asada....soooo tasty!!! I will most definitely be a regular here...I really hope they do well with their business. The waitstaff were extremely nice and attentive. We went there for lunch Saturday and they were 5 minutes from closing but gladly took our business without hesitation read more

Great little place featuring American and Mexican choices. Every table was full on Sunday morning. I felt like I should have ordered one of the Mexican breakfasts, but chose the 5th Street omelette with mushrooms, Italian sausage, and mozzarella cheese. It came with potatoes and toast. Not impressed by any means. I was told to go to this place because I'll love it. Yeah no. The service was terrible. A simple water order was forgotten. The coffee was nasty. I will admit that everything smelled and looked amazing. However mine was not good at all. What did I have? I can't remember the name of it but it was eggs and homemade tortillas with a green sauce that tasted sour. Too much sauce, not enough eggs. The refried beans were amazing tho. However, not amazing enough for me to give this place even a second try. Which is a bummer because I was excited to go. It looks tiny from the outside but it's spacious inside. But I wouldn't waste your hard earned money here. But again, that's just my opinion, but you've been warned read more

This is the textbook example of a hidden gem. All the food my girlfriend and i got was wonderful. I got a pretty typical eggs with sausage and bacon, with no problem gave me spinach instead of potatoes so i could stick to my diet. My GF got the chicken fajita omelette which from the few bites I snuck is arguably one of the top omelettes in the greater providence area. So fluffy, plenty of filling. The cherry on top for her though was she asked for hot sauce and the waitress politely suggested she try their homemade salsa, my GF was blown away. I've never seen fresher salsa in my life (beware is was spicy for me but im Irish so there's that). The place is small, so probably not the best place to meet a group of friends for brunch but can't really beat it for a quick bite before you start your sunday morning. read more

I wish this place had existed for 20 years. It's so nice having a good Mexican breakfast. Once this place catches on, there will be many imitations. I really wish they'd start making machaca and al pastor burritos. Carne Asada and also Chorizo make great breakfast burritos. read more

My friend asked for a glass of water with his breakfast and they pretty much refused. Waitress said there was something wrong with the tap water, so, they'll only sell you bottled water. But you cook and make coffee and wash with the same water...so we skipped getting breakfast. I got a grilled English muffin instead, which was a rubber disc. Had to ask 3 times for jelly. Cute place, just don't ask for a glass of water. read more

I have never been to a restaurant in my life anywhere in the East Coast or countries I've visited, where every single time the owner comes out to make sure you enjoyed your meal. This is our new breakfast to go place. Every single time the service is timely, friendly, and the food is delicious and consistent. The atmosphere is beautifully decorated and I can't wait to try the new specials when I go in. I just wish they were open later to do more lunch service, or dinner on a Friday. I'm sure they would sell out! read more

They mentioned that they change their menu seasonally, so we will definitely be back to try different options!

I've eaten my way through quite a few things here over the years, and while there are plenty of good choices, I keep coming back to the Smokey and the Bandit smash burger. At this point, I probably know what I'm ordering before I even sit down. There's just something about that combination that keeps winning. The food here is consistently good. Everything I've had has been fresh, hot, and full of flavor, and the kitchen seems to have that part figured out without making a big production of it. The menu has enough variety that you can come in with different appetites and still find something you want, but it doesn't feel like one of those places with a menu the size of a small novel where you need twenty minutes just to decide what you're looking at. The beer selection is another reason I enjoy Chomp. There's enough variety to make choosing a beer part of the experience rather than simply grabbing whatever happens to be on tap. Prices are also pretty reasonable for the quality and portion sizes, which is increasingly something I notice because restaurant prices have a funny way of creeping upward when you're not paying attention. The location is another part of the appeal. Chomp sits in a great little part of Providence where you can easily make an evening out of being in the neighborhood. There are plenty of other restaurants, shops, and places to wander around nearby, so it doesn't feel like you're making a special trip just to eat and then immediately getting back in the car. Tonight, though, I have to give a special shout-out to Bella, who was our server. She was outstanding. Friendly, personable, attentive without hovering, and genuinely helpful. She suggested adding bacon to my Smokey and the Bandit, which I probably wouldn't have thought to do on my own. I'm very glad she mentioned it because it was an excellent call. Sometimes the best recommendations are the simple ones, and she nailed it. One piece of advice if you're planning on coming here: make a reservation if you can. Chomp can fill up quickly, and given how good the food is, that really shouldn't come as much of a surprise. It's the kind of restaurant where people come back because they already know they're going to have a good meal, and I'm certainly part of that group. Five stars from me. Great food, good beer, reasonable prices, a fantastic Providence location, and genuinely good service. I've tried enough of the menu over the years to know that Chomp has plenty of options, but apparently I'm still incapable of walking through the door without ordering that Smokey and the Bandit. Add Bella's bacon recommendation to the list of reasons I'm going to keep coming back.

The worst item by far was the Caesar Salad. Honestly it looked like someone sliced up lettuce like you would for a sub sandwich, or used a 1990s Salad Shooter, and threw it in a styrofoam dish. It didn't even resemble a salad I'd avoid this place.

It would have been better if the cheese was melted and if the jalapeños were infused into the sauce. I wish there was more of the sauce it did have because it was delicious. The bun was nice and soft, and the chicken was perfectly crispy and moist. The fries were delicious and had just the right amount of salt. I did not realize until after that they have sauces on the menu (I would have ordered some for the fries). I have never liked tapioca but these were so good. They were soft and actually had a good flavor. I am used to tough and flavorless. The taro was sweet but not anything overwhelming. I would definitely come back for more.

The main seating option are long picnic table benches - my back personally cannot do a backless seat for more than an hour without being in pain, so take that into consideration. It's also kind of awkward to swing your legs into the seat every time you have to get up, especially if it's full and you're in the middle. I'd love this place so much more if it just got normal tables and individual chairs with backs! My favorite thing about this brewery is that it is dog friendly and there are usually multiple gorgeous furry faces here to oggle over.

The waiting area inside is bright, colorful, decorated with some personal tokens, assorted cookbooks and accolades. You can just see into the kitchen and suddenly the chef and owner, Milena Pagán will appear over the cafe style doors to greet you and get you checked in for your reservation. Highly recommend a reservation if you plan to come on the weekend. The place was busy! We were taken to our spots at the bar and greeted by Milena's partner, Darcy. He took care of us from start to finish. I could not resist the brunch prie fixe menu for $45. What a steal. An entree, house made pastry, juice/coffee/tea and one of the house cocktails. I chose the shakshouka, a cardamom knot, the guava-pineapple fizz and the rebujito. I also added an iced horchata latte because I was at brunch after all! We had our drinks and pastries in front of us quickly. My juice was refreshing, tangy and just a hint of sweetness. I love guava and this was exactly what I wanted. The latte was simple but effective, hitting the spiced notes you want from horchata with the depth of good espresso to back it up. The latte in particular was delicious with the cardamom knot, the two harmonizing together for a moment of heaven on this rainy Sunday afternoon. The outside of the knot was caramelized in spots adding this great crunch and the inside was soft like a cinnamon bun. My friend mentioned it was one of her favorites and I can see why! When the shakshouka came out, the smell hit me first. Warm tomatoes, the herbs from the chimichurri, and the tostones fresh from the pan. The presentation is beautiful, inviting you to dig in immediately. I of course opted for the smashed avocado upgrade and they thoughtfully plated it on the side. I like to taste everyone together so I added it to my skillet, and began eating the dish using my tostones as my utensil. It was amazing. All those smells I mentioned before played through beautifully in the tasting. It was one of the best dishes I've ever had. My only wish was for more tostones but I know if I had asked for an additional side, they had that as an option to take. I'll make sure to do that next time! The rebujito cocktail was something I hadn't tried before so I was looking forward to it. It felt like the kind of drink you have on a hot summer day. Similar to a mojito, but with good sherry as the base alcohol instead of rum. As a side note, I think it's an incredibly clever to create a cocktail menu around sherry when you have a beer and wine license. Using a fortified wine? Brilliant. But after my experience here today, I know that brilliance is in every brick of that space. If you were like me and haven't made the trip to this spot on the corner of Hope and Rochambeau, please fix that ASAP! I can't wait to go back, and bring all my friends and family here so they can share in what I enjoyed today. Just an incredible meal and service.

This place was a hidden gem!! My goodness, the food was delicious. We came for breakfast and started off enjoying our coffee. Coffee was just a regular cup, nothing out of the ordinary. While we were drinking that, the chef, Edwardo, came out of the kitchen to welcome us since it was our first time here. He brought a complimentary plate of sliced fresh fruit which was a really sweet and unexpected touch. Shortly thereafter, our meals came. We both ordered the Francesca's special, one with bacon and one with sausage and an extra side of corned beef hash. The plate was heaping with a giant portion of food and it was so tasty! The corned beef hash was definitely homemade and it was the best I've ever tasted! The actual meals were delicious too. The bacon was thick-cut and the sausages were a generous size. It felt like a hometown local place and it definitely didn't disappoint. We will be back... soon! read more
