I really love a good breakfast. Perfectly runny, eggs, breakfast potatoes that are well seasoned, crispy, and yet still soft and tender on the inside, pancakes that are fluffy, and just that overall feeling that you've started your day with just an amazing meal. If you love that same experience, and you're in San Francisco, going to Lucho's is a must. Lucho's is my go to breakfast spot. It's small, busy, and once you taste their food, you'll see why people flock here for breakfast, brunch/lunch. The service is exceptional, and the staff is very welcoming. When you walk in, you're not seated until you order at the counter. Once you've ordered, paid, they will find a seat for you, or perhaps you'll be seated outside. The menu is filled with so many delicious items. You can pretty much close your eyes and point your finger at something, and it's guaranteed that you will have a really good meal. Chilaquiles- this is an absolute yes. You can order a half or a full order, and it absolutely is a shareable. I really appreciate the fact that there are add-on options, such as black beans, different proteins, and some other condiments. The way they wear the flavors, you're going to want it all, and you should have it! Eggs Benedict- this is also an absolute yes! The eggs are perfectly poached, the side of potatoes are delicious, and I love that the hollandaise sauce has Tapatio in it. It's a nice little kick and it really pulls all the different flavors together. The pancakes... Oh, those delicious pancakes... depending on the time of year, there are different offerings/flavors and it any given time there's at least three or four different flavors of pancakes to choose from. Some boozy, some fruity, but they're all damn delicious! They all are absolutely shareable as well. The breakfast burrito- this is one of the few items that I'm personally not fond of. I wanted to have much more protein in it, and I wanted it to be cheesy and gooey and it's just not for me. This is a great date place, a place to go with just a couple of friends, or even on your own. If you go with friends four should be the max just because of seating availability. Consistently delicious food in a friendly atmosphere

Tried Lucho's for the first time today (9:45 am on a Saturday morning). For dine-in, there was a short wait and orderly system to put your name down, and they take your order when they're ready at the counter and bring your food to you. We ordered and shared a full sized chorizo chilaquiles and a cochinita pibil breakfast burrito. They have a variety of tasty hot sauces - my favorite was the habanero carrot. Also ordered Mexican coffee which they rightfully warned was very sweet - if you're not sure whether you'll like that, you can ask nicely try a sample before committing. Family run operation who clearly knew many of the patrons well. Service was warm and friendly even for newcomers - every single member of the waitstaff checked in on us at some point to make sure we had everything we need. There was a massive wait by the time we left around 10:30 am. I can see why this place is thriving and has been for so long - good food, generous portions and top notch service!

Been here a few times and love the neighborhood vibes of Lakeview. This spot is quaint with a few tables but it moves fast so the wait isn't too long on busier days. The service is always so friendly and welcoming, with good food to kick start your morning. Order and pay at the front counter where they'll hand you a #, and bring out your dishes to you when ready. Love that you can see the chefs cooking your meal. They offer 3 housemade salsas that we love mixing around depending on our orders. Tried a few specials and the birria eggs benedict w/ their house potatoes are by far my favorite. Chilaquiles are also a nice bite. Metered street parking along Ocean Ave, or turn into the smaller streets for residential parking (2 hr limit on weekdays).

Second visit here, had been a few years ago. The experience was even better. Great service from all staff making sure you had what you needed. Food was excellent and served quickly and plated beautifully. We dined on Sunday morning, arrived before opening and there was a line forming. Must be popular. Great avocado toast and Benedict. Spectacular pineapple pancake.

The food, the service, the staff were all INCREDIBLE!! We got the cafe de olla (yum) French toast and Platano Frito, my husband got the bacon burrito and I got the pork cochinita bibil breakfast burrito that I split with my friend (burritos are the size of new born babies lols) they were both so good! We were all impressed with everything we got!! Amazing! Thank you to the cooks, servers, owners! You guys are doing it right!

Great neighborhood breakfast/brunch/lunch spot! They have all the classics and some Mexican food. The service is also great, the staff are all very friendly and warm. That and the delicious food make me want to come back! I stopped by for a weekday lunch a little after 11am and was seated right away. You order and pay at the front register and they'll give you a number for the food for your table. It's a cozy spot so they probably have a wait during the weekends, I saw a clipboard with a waiting list outside. We got the pumpkin pancakes which were seasonal and a full order of the chilaquiles with cochinita pibil. The portions were massive! The pancakes were delicious, very fluffy and light. The chilaquiles were sooo good! Covered in sauce and still crunchy. Everything was so tasty! Definitely recommend this spot!

My kid and I walked by this too many times to not stop in today. Customers service was a 10/10! So at tentative and didn't even have to ask for anything. They check in and showed us what was on the table. I got half of their chilaquiles and added sour cream and avocado 9/10, wish it was cruncher My kid got their breakfasts burrito with chorizo. She loved it! It was a fatty. But omgeez their Mexican coffee!!!! Was soooooo good. My kid and I loved it. It's sweet but good.

Lucho's turned out to be one of those breakfast/brunch spots that completely exceeds expectations. We stumbled in around 10-11 a.m. on a Sunday morning and even though there was a wait of over 30 minutes (it honestly flew by as I explored the area). The setup is unique you order before being seated but given the wait time it actually works perfectly and gives you plenty of time to decide what to get. Let's talk about the star of the show: the chilaquiles. They were amazing hands down some of the best I've ever had. My group ordered them three different ways and every version was delicious. I went with the standard sauce added beans, cheese, and an over-medium egg PURE perfection. My boyfriend's version came with birria, cilantro, onion, sour cream, and beans. The portion sizes are generous (Lucho's definitely doesn't skimp). I ordered a half portion and it was just perfect leaving me full but not overstuffed. A full order could easily be shared between two people unless you're really hungry. I paired my meal with a café de olla, which was rich and the perfect complement to the meal. My boyfriend had a michelada and it was spot on flavorful, balanced, and refreshing. What really stood out beyond the food was the owner's presence. He was everywhere: greeting guests, helping with orders, serving, and checking in with tables. That kind of hands-on hospitality makes a huge difference and really adds to the warm, welcoming vibe of the place. If you're in the area, Lucho's is absolutely worth the wait. Between the incredible chilaquiles, generous portions, and genuine service this spot has earned a permanent place on my must-return list. Highly recommend!

Heads up this place is small so expect a wait but it was worth it. The gal behind the counter was so nice and kept apologizing for the wait. The food was delicious and portions are good. You can definitely split a dishes and try multiple dishes.

Brief Summary: - Most of the menu includes house habanero salsa - Kind and attentive staff - Wait time was around 30 minutes, depends on your waitlist timing - Indoor and outdoor seating available - Low spice tolerance, when mixed in a dish, I was able to eat the house habanero salsa without feeling overwhelmed by the spiciness (that is amazing) - Coffee was not sour Decided to eat here for brunch. Already there were a cluster of guests waiting at the door. The restaurant is small, where the kitchen takes most of the space, so there are limited amount of seats. Fortunately, there is outdoor seating, but there is still time to wait. For the young children, there are coloring books and crayons for them to draw while waiting in line, so there is a good deed of kindness for children and families. I did not view the menu until after we wrote our names into the waitlist. It was then I realized that most of the orders come with habanero peppers. How did I also not notice the little apostrophe on Lucho's is is a literal habanero (very cute). This turned out to be a feint startle, in which I'm still surprised about. One of my family members have stronger spice tolerance, so after some deciding they chose the Chilaquiles. I got the Polozé, and my other relative, who is also on the low spice tolerance, chose the 2 eggs any style dish. Yes, I took a bite of the Chilaquiles, and this was so surprising. I felt the spice, but it wasn't the intimidating painful spice that I have heard of from hot sauce stores. This was a delicate, a wonderful accent to boost the overall flavor of this dish. Wow, I was blown away, I can eat a dish with habanero pepper and I didn't drink down a whole cup of water; not even a sip. This restaurant has a cook with magic hidden in their sleeves. When I was deciding on what to order and was hesitant on ordering a dish with habanero, I was leaning between an avocado toast or the Pozolé, and I am so glad I chose the latter. I love soups, and this was absolutely delicious. First, each spoonful scoops up pieces of pork or vegetables. The broth is rich with pork and chilies, and this one wasn't spicy either. The staff were stars as well. Almost each one came by and asked how we were doing, checked for coffee seconds, and took away the eaten dishes. They were such lovely people and the food was truly amazing. This is a must-return restaurant to try other dishes. Next time, I'm more eager to try other dishes that have the house habanero salsa because now I know it's not going to be deadly spicy.

This is my new favorite restaurant! The food was incredible--the chilaquiles were the best I've ever had, and the apple pancake was amazing. I loved that the apples were incorporated into the batter instead of just being placed on top. If you like your coffee sweet and cinnamon flavored, I highly recommend the Mexican coffee. My friend and I came for brunch on a busy Sunday morning. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating. You wait in line until a table opens up, order at the counter, take a number, and your food is brought to your table. We even chatted a bit with the owner, Lucho--he's so kind and welcoming!

Hi! Yes, the parklet is for our customers.

Hi, thank you for you question. Rising food costs, labor shortage and the gas prices commuting.,, just bad timing.

Hi! That is a very good question. As per San Francisco mandate, we need proof of full vaccination, so either 1 dose of J&j or 2 doses of of Moderna or Pziser. We do however have a lovely outdoor space, and no vaccination is required.

No, I am sorry, we do not.

You give me a Calabrian chili sauce and it's guaranteed to make me happy and this shrimp with sweet corn was no exception. Again, light but a punchy flavor that was enjoyable. I could go on and on about the different dishes we tried but the real standout of the night was the pork tenderloin with chorizo and peaches. The sweetness from the peaches somehow managed to enhance the flavor of the chorizo. This dish gives you a bold, savory and sweet bite all together but still won't have you feeling super heavy. The menu is set daily, so the dishes can vary from what's shown in previous photos. After ordering, it took over 30 minutes for our food to arrive. The summer vegetable hash comes with beans, squash, tomatoes, corn, carrots, peppers and eggs. I typically associate hash with potatoes, but surprisingly this dish does not come with potatoes. The dish was fairly mild, with most of the flavor coming from the individual vegetables. It's definitely a lighter, healthier take on hash and would be a good option if you're looking for something with more vegetables. The plow comes with eggs, lemon ricotta pancakes, potatoes and choice of meat. The lemon riccota pancakes were the star of the dish- light, fluffy and not too sweet. The potatoes were crispy. The steak + eggs was a hearty option. The steak was tender and juicy and went well with the chermoula sauce. Overall, I'm glad I got to try this restaurant at least once, but hesistant to come back because of the long wait and value of each plate.
