I've been with Frank brothers for over 20 years. It's been bought out by a big conglomerate. They are very impersonal and it's like calling a call center.They charge now for the service maintenance contract. Overcharge you per gallon for oil. Record you on the phone for contracts. Then send service man to your house to try to sell you equipment, oil, tanks, etc. that you do not need. Go with another company. A family run company is way better. Which is what Frank brother used to be. I will be going with a different company next year. read more

Switched to Frank Bros a couple of years ago after being jerked around by Petro for nearly 10 years. Frank Bros has a more personal approach to their business, whenever I have to call for help whether I need to set up an appointment for maintenance or want to pay my bill over the phone or just need to schedule an oil delivery the women I speak to on the phone are very nice and helpful. Their maintenance people do a great job **knock on wood** my dinosaur of a steam boiler has worked very well since Frank Bros been taking care of it (cannot say the same for when we used Petro's service). The only issue I ever really had was twice they had to last minute reschedule boiler tune up service. But aside from that, not a complaint. read more

Would never recommend!!! After purchasing a service contract, I called 11 days after the start date regarding a pipe in my crawl space which I believed was part of the heating system. They sent someone and he said they were too busy to replace it and there was no imminent problem (was not leaking) and they could look at it in the spring. Subsequently I could not agree to their new very high fixed price lock in contract which was 40 cents more than what I was able to procure, and they are refusing to reimburse the service contract fee. Still waiting to hear from the Service Manager who instructed the customer service person to deny any refund. Imagine being told they would come back 5 months later to do a job and considering I used up the value of the contract. I am contacting the NYS Consumer Complaints and BBB for their assistance. read more

Wow. Avoid this company at all costs. If I could vote zero stars I would. After you lock in for an ok price for one year they jack it up above all other companies. After my contract expired, I called them to renew. I know prices went up, but when I called other companies everyone else is a dollar or more LESS. So I switched. I told them their price was high and they did not care. They still came and delivered at the new high price without reaching out first and left me with an astronomical bill. I called to cancel to make sure it wouldn't happen again. Diana called me the next day. Diana, over there has the worst attitude. She is rude and nasty. Then she rubs it in my face that if I didn't sign with another company, the would refund me the difference to a lower price but it's TOO LATE because I'm in a new contract with a different company. Who does that? They should have credit me back the lower price and tried to earn my business back for next year. Now, I will never do business with them or ANY START GAS COMPANY again. Also, their service guy did not mark our boiler so I have no idea if they ever serviced it even though our contract includes one complimentary cleaning per year. read more

No call backs when you call for contract details and oil prices , bad attitudes and they keep on sending me letter that they want me back but don't call back when you call them. We are long time customers (over 20 years) with a service contract and on automatic delivery. My oil tank is currently empty. That should NEVER happen. I have called 4 times for service because I cannot use my heat and their technicians are not responding to my service calls. I have never had a problem with them before but this is completely unacceptable - this has been going on for over 12 hours. They deserve ZERO stars read more

Wanted a contract since they were recommended to me i spoke to representative who then came over and declined the contract with out any reasons they came in said the boiler was not easily accessible which is not something i could control since i purchased the house that way.... Terrible company. I did not renew my oil contract with them to see if prices would come down. They charged me for a service contract. I didn't argue bc it is always good to have an equipment service contract. I called them a couple months later to see about another oil delivery contract and they explained my service contract was null and void when I canceled oil contract and that the money should have been refunded. After calling around and letting them match the best price I could find they were not able to match. I said I would going with the better deal and to please refund me.All of a sudden that contract was good and they will only refund half as a pro rated price. I said if it's valid then continue contract until it expires. They refuse to do so. Stay away from this company. read more

So I am starting off with 3 stars, been with Frank's since June 2018. The service men did the first checkup and i was satisfied with the work and explanation of what was needed. Second service call was painless came when scheduled and work was completed flawlessly. Received oil 1/25 and having issues with the boiler not running or hot water? Called for service and spoke with a wonderful young lady took all the information and put through to on call service. The tech called 5 mins later (yeah!) Ok update arrived same day and did his magic boiler working 100% and Frank did it again. read more

They've showed me a very "human" side of doing business more than once and that's the kind of thing that you'd be hard pressed to find. Service, when needed, is prompt and always done right. Horrible service, and quite frankly they are con-men. They take advantage of their service contract. DO NOT GET AUTOMATIC DELIVERIES! I spoke to their admin and explained that I will be converting to gas in the next 3 weeks and only need 40 gallons to make it to that point. She proceeded to explain that the minimum delivery is 100 gallons at the market price. My response was do not deliver and I will get it somewhere else. 3 days later when coming home from work I notice the tank has been filled, and a $400 bill is under the door. Clearly she disregarded my instructions. Horrible people on the office end. Upon disputing the bill I was met with a childish nasty response. These people are shady. First we called them and they said they don't do gas heaters (lie). Social Services contacted them to do the job and then they said they'll fix a heater only if you get a contract with them. Some guy named Tony came and was in the house for 2 minutes and then reported to Social Services that there was mold and dog feces all over the basement (lie). They didn't even submit a bid. When another company came, they said there was nothing wrong with the basement, it was clean, no mold or anything and that companies just make up lies when they don't want the job. Don't use them, doesn't matter how long they've been in business, the people working there now suck. I wouldn't recommend them if they were the only company on Earth. read more

What a bunch of scam artists. I called the office 2 times to tell them no more oil deliverires after my contract expires. What do they do....deliver oil for .25 cents higher than cash prices around LI. I called office and they said they didn't get my phone call and on top of that you have to send a letter to terminate delivery. Scam artists. Beware. Will never use or recommend them again. Guess you have to stay with the big name companies rather than help the local guy. read more

We are new customers this year so a little adjustment is in order to the automatic delivery schedule, but when we ran out of oil yesterday, a truck was here within an hour of our phone call with a temporary fill, and the technician stayed to make sure the burner was up and running. This morning a Frank Bros. truck arrived and filled the tank so there was no chance we would run out in between. Not only that, the technician rang the bell to ask how we were doing and if we still had heat. This is a level of service we have not seen with other companies. read more

I don't have heat and called Frank Brothers. I was told I would get a call back. I waited 8 hours and received no call back. I called again and their answering service said that maybe I didn't get a call back because I didn't have a contract. It would have been nice if I would have a least got a call back. Seriously impressed! Came home from work - one heating zone was not working house at 50 degrees. Called my heating company FRANK BROTHERS - repair man at house in less than 30 minutes - valve and circulator replaced in less than 1 hour.
