The fries were awesome. The dip had way too much garlic and they had no ketchup. Yes, a hamburger and fries place with no ketchup. The sad thing was that I wasn't told that they were out of Ketchup until i got the burger and had asked for some ketchup for my fries. Then I looked at the burger and there was none. If a place runs out of ketchup, send a person to the store and get some. But if they are too lazy to do that, at least tell me when I order. read more

Stopped in for lunch for the first time today and was pleasantly surprised. The burger was great, the dining area is clean and comfortable and the service was friendly and prompt. Nothing fancy, good solid food but could do better. Fries were fresh cut as advertised but not served hot out of the fryer. Burger was a little over cooked and onions partly burned. So good! The double patty burger ( or whatever it's called?) was excellent. The bun was fantastic. Hot cheesy goodness. Cajun fries were too much for two of us to finish. Piping hot. Served with a garlic aioli dip. Nice change from ketchup! They also have a Nicaraguan menu. Not exactly " secret", but I wouldn't have known if I didn't see the stack of paper menus sitting on the counter. The Nicaraguan dishes aren't up on the big chalkboard with the rest of the burgers and chicken sandwiches. My friend ordered from that. No English on the Nicaraguan menu, but easy enough if you know a bit of Spanish. Until you learn that apparently a Nicaraguan enchilada is nothing like a Mexican restaurant enchilada. It's a deep fried dough filled with ( in this case at least) a mildly spicy blend of ground pork, rice and onions. Topped with cabbage. My friend really liked it. And I liked the one bite of the filling I tried. I see more than a couple comments about bad parking. I guess going at prime lunchtime would make for difficulty in parking. The county lot has maybe 50 spaces. But since we arrived " off peak" at 1:45pm, there were a dozen or more available spots. I will be back. This place is great! read more

I very much enjoyed my first visit to Franks burger place. I did takeout but the clean and spacious interior made it welcoming to sit as well. The burger was well cooked and satisfying. The fried Brussels sprouts and rosemary Parmesan fries were especially delicious-perfectly cooked and seasoned making the calories well worth it. I will definitely be back to try the different burger combos as it's great to have a solid and inventive burger place nearby. read more

A hidden burgerdom in the middle of Wheaton. If you buy local and want a reward I suggest you visit Franks. They cooked the all-American burger well and it tasted so good it was gone before I knew it. They have several varieties of French fries to choose from, which includes a dipping sauce. I had a smokehouse burger and fries. The burger is a high quality classic American beef patty with great bacon, lettuce, and tomato. The fries are fresh, and the homemade sauces are special - get them all! The restaurant is tucked away in a corner adjacent to a good sized parking lot, and well worth the trip. read more

We ordered takeout from Frank's after seeing that it recently opened. The order was ready on time, and everyone was very courteous and pleasant in the restaurant. The fried chicken sandwich was delicious, and the rosemary and parmesan fries with garlic aioli were a revelation. Everyone, including the kids, loved the homemade ketchup! We were very impressed at the overall quality, especially for a place that just opened. Will definitely be going back to Frank's before too long! read more

Been waiting for Frank's to open since I saw the coming soon sign, I'm from Wheaton so I know we desperately needed a good burger joint and hoped that this would be the place. Maaaaan did they DELIVER! The burgers, the chicken sandwich, the sauce & the multiple types of fries all taste amazing and you can tell that it's because of the effort put into making them. Their milkshakes are refreshing, delicious and a great way to have dessert while simultaneously eating lunch/dinner. The manager is very nice and personable, he had a conversation with my friends and I as we ate and the staff is just as personable. Nothing to write home about--AT ALL! We stopped in awhile back and alas they were closing so we vowed to return to give #Frank's Burger Place a try! Today was the day and I was so hoping to fall head over heels in love with this little joint. Unfortunately (maybe it was an off day) that was not to be. A very mediocre cheeseburger with 1 strip of bacon folded over was $10 and I tossed half of it in the trash If that was really "fresh" hamburger I would be surprised. In fact, the meat on my burger was GRAY and tasted OLD. When the star of a burger is the bun, tomato and lettuce, you know that it's underwhelming. Of course, I LOVE good fries with my burger and was all set to dive into the greasy brown paper bags they came in. Again, maybe it was a bad day BUT my fries were mushy and had a weird taste (like they had been soaked in vinegar) to them. No amount of ketchup could fix the limp, somewhat soggy, off-flavor fries. My SO called his fare "edible" but didn't finish his either. For a total of $38 including the tip, we aren't sure that we will try this one again. Maybe our expectations were too high or it was an off day for the cook--IDK! But I do know that I feel ripped off.
