FULL of butter and cheese, with this really immensely pleasurable saltiness throughout. And the mushrooms were not the ordinary brown and white button tops you normally get. It didn't have a single basic-ass mushroom in it. It was filled with enoki and oyster mushrooms, all fried beautifully with none of that watery gross taste. I'm not normally a mushroom fanatic at restaurants, but I absolutely gobbled this down. And plus, the potatoes on the side, as the picture shows, were gorgeously roasted. The pork belly fried rice was something else... much more in-your-face boldness in terms of flavor, almost too much for a breakfast dish and quite heavy. But very addicting. I was really pleased to find that all the rice was actually crispy, like it would be at the bottom of a hot stone bibimbap. They also do NOT skimp on the pork belly and shrimp pieces in it. It went down a treat. I was definitely not expecting to be impressed by a damn fruit cup, but I think the picture speaks for itself. It included nectarines and figs, which was a surprise, all perfectly ripe and fresh. My girlfriend also ordered the highball cocktail. It was not too sweet and pretty refreshing. The bad: Coffee was garbage, way too bitter. And the restroom situation isn't that great. But overall, the food was just too good to remove a star. The bill ended up being around $71 before tip. Book well in advance and don't skip this place. Next time, I'm trying dinner here!

I was on a quest for breakfast things and amazed to fine very nicely packaged breakfast sandwiches and burritos made by the store in a refrigerator case. I grabbed several. The store is a bit rustic yet clean and well organized, and there's lots beyond just food items at one end of the store. The woman who checked me out was very pleasant and friendly. If you're looking for something to eat, or fill up on groceries, this is it.

We were glad for that as we found it to be a well stocked and reasonably priced place to get food for our picnic on the cliff and snacks for the other days of our stay. The service was great two servers came by a lot and they brought my dog a bowl of water. If I ever return to Mendocino I will definitely come by and try their other dishes. Recommended!

We were excited to try Frankie's, given its reputation and charming setting. Unfortunately, the experience didn't quite meet our expectations. The small pizza we ordered had a soggy center, and the crust lacked flavor and seemed undercooked. It's possible that the larger sizes fare better, but this one missed the mark. The Mediterranean salad was fine but nothing particularly memorable. On the positive side, the ice cream was enjoyable. They offer unique flavors like candy cap mushroom, which was surprisingly good. The selection is limited, but it's a nice treat, especially considering the scarcity of late-night dessert options in Mendocino. The staff was friendly, and we only waited about 15 minutes, which was reasonable. While we appreciate the community vibe and the effort to provide diverse options, the food quality left us wanting more. The food was surprisingly very good. The crust was unlike any other that my wife and I have ever had before. However, the service aspect lacked horribly. A young female cashier treated my wife horribly at the front when she went up to ask a simple question about our order. My wife had stood in line for several minutes, and when she started to ask the question, the cashier said, "No, you have to stand in line, they are first." The customer was appalled by the cashiers reaction and allowed my wife to ask her question. On top of that, the prices were insane! We spent $30 on a pizza, and when we asked for a cup of ranch, they wanted to charge us .50 cents!?!?! HOW CHEAP!? These reasons alone dropped what could have been a 4 star (if service was mediocre) or 5 star (if service was great) to a 1 star just because of bad service and a cheap owner. read more

The ice cream here is next-level good, the kind that makes you rethink every scoop you've had before. They even have a mushroom-flavored ice cream, which sounds wild but is surprisingly delicious and totally worth trying just for the experience. And the cookies? Oh man. Their cookies rival the ice cream in greatness. The giant Heath Bar cookie in particular is unreal--warm, chewy, buttery, and packed with toffee goodness. Came here with a group and we ordered the falafel, a pizza, and a piadne (basically an open wrap). The falafels were the best part of the order- not at all dry, and though they could have used a tad bit more flavor, they were very solid. The pizza was loaded with lots of toppings and it got the job done, but I think we would prefer a crust cooked in higher heat. read more
