Same great Frankie's that I enjoy in Richardson, just a different setting! This particular Frankie's is in an old house, this the name Frankie's Casa. I am not usually at a Frankie's when they serve Brunch so today, I ordered Breakfast Tacos. They were good, but could have used smaller potato chunks and more eggs in my opinion. Our server David was great! Attentive and professional. He did a great job anticipating our needs. My biggest complaint about the experience was the sewer smell in the restroom area. Review #2114

Hands down my favorite Mexican in the Wylie/ Sachse area. I love both locations! My personal fave are chicken tacos with beans and rice. Simple, classic Mexican good done right. The quesadillas are also delicious. The salsa here has just the right amount of kick, and the chips are tasty without being too hard or too greasy! We sat in the indoor patio space, which was cute and comfortable with the hot weather. Our server made sure all our orders came out right, and checked in on us as well! Can't go wrong with Frankie's!

Your Yelper Girl checking in! My fiancé and I were craving Mexican food on a weekend trip to Wylie. We weren't sure where to eat so we checked out some restaurants with a high star Yelp rating. We chose Frankie's. Very cute restaurant and we were seated quickly. The chicken and shrimp fajitas were delicious as were the fixings. Corn tortillas were nothing special but most aren't unless made in house. Drinks were good as well. We got Mexican martinis and they didn't come with ice but were very slushy. Very friendly service. Would visit again if we are in the area.

First, the food was amazing! The sizzling skillet of fajitas was aromatic and flavorful and there was a generous portion of steak! The shrimp tacos were cooked to perfection and the drinks were satisfying. However, what stood out most was the wonderful service provided by our server Amara. She was attentive, answered our questions about the menu, and told us what her favorites were. She made sure that we had all we needed before our food came and afterwards. We will definitely be coming back and I highly recommend Frankie's to anyone who's never tried them. That said, if you don't like crowds, I'd recommend going on a week night.

This place is absolutely amazing! I will let you know that it gets packed and it stays packed because the food and the service is exceptional! Got there and had a party of seven and was able to get set right away, our waitress was able to accommodate all the needs of our party, which was great. We had plenty of chips and salsa, which was really good. The chips were fresh. The salsa is mild and the fresh tortillas are also good to your choice of flour or corn. In addition, I must say that I tried their potato brisket enchiladas and oh my God was this a hit they come with mushrooms and I did the mushrooms on the side and I'm here to tell you that when I return, I will be ordering the same plate again. The queso is a must. I'm not for sure what they put into it but we ended up having two bowls of it and honestly, I mean, you could almost put your finger in there and lick all the sides because the queso is so good. I will let you also know that every single thing on the menu is delicious from the fajitas to the chicken to the steak to the tacos. Anything that you ordered is great. We ordered pretty much everything and they do have a happy hour that ends at 6 PM with five dollar margaritas. In addition, we were not rushed to leave and were able to talk and have some fun. We loved that the fact that the manager came over a few times to check on us and see if we needed something as well. And as we finished food, we were able to stack up plates, and the table was actually to be clear so that we could continue to chat for a little while. This place is a gem so if you're in the area, please stop by. You'll feel right at home.

Food is dairy typical TexMex. You get a lot for your money. Tostadas were crisp not hard or stale. Tacos were exceptionally meaty. Enchiladas and tamales were coated with chili. Hot sauce is nice and spicy. Chips were okay but not thin. Service staff were very attentive and helpful. This was my third trip here and the food has been consistent in quality. We visit here often because the food is amazing! The service is always fantastic! People are more than accommodating and helpful. You couldn't ask for a better meal experience. This place is so delicious. My only negative is that is IS a bit pricey for a family of four. You are probably looking at $100 ticket including tip and an appetizer, so know that going in there. Also, I would recommend going on a weekday bc weekends are crazy busy. Staff, food and atmosphere are wonderful. read more

Me and my family love coming to Frankie's. The salsa is amazing, it's a thick yet not overly chunky, salsa has just the right amount of heat. The chips are hot and fresh, and just keep coming. My favorite dish is the veggie tamales. The light and flavorful masa is filled with spinach and topped with sauteed veggies. The veggies are lightly seasoned with just the right amount of crunch. Come visit you won't be disappointed! read more

We ate at Frankie's casa the second night they opened. They were very busy but we still felt that we were waited on properly. The owner was running around helping serve drinks and chips. We often go to the Frankie's in sachse, and the menu in downtown is similar but there are a couple of changes (I also thought the prices were slightly raised at this location). The food was great, and I am a huge fan of their chips, salsa, and queso. The building itself is small, so not as well fit for larger groups, but it does have that homely feel. The staff were all great and inviting. Will be returning to this location as well as the one in sachse. read more

Was really looking forward to this place as I just recently moved to the area. I got the parillada for two for me and my wife to enjoy. Highly disappointed. When ordering was told 18 ounces of meat was what we would be receiving. Highly disappointed, when explaining that we did not receive the correct amount of meat the gentlemen on the phone simply told me that sounds about right after explaining I only received 3 shrimps, 4 pieces of beef, and 5 pieces of chicken. I'd understand if this was extremely large pieces. Unfortunately not the case. read more

To pricy for 3 people and after 3pm you have to order 3 enchilada dinner instead of 2 enchilada dinner if you want rice and beans, I have never been to any other Mexican food place that does that. Waste of food. Ordered 3 dinners for pickup and it was 43.00 dollars. Had to ask for another bag of chips because 3 people where eating they gave me just 1 more bag. I called back and the lady that answered the phone did not seem concerned with my complain and when I asked for a manager I never got one I waited a good 10 minutes then hung up. Food was cold and okay but way way to pricy for me. Just make sure you take enough money with you to eat and my total of 43.00 did not include drinks. Not impressed. read more

This is definitely the best food I've had in Wylie. The ingredients are fresh, the service is good, the margaritas are made with fresh lime juice, it's fantastic. Have always thought of this place to be a fancy text mex food restaurant. I managed to get the courage to eat here. Only to be very disappointed!! Ordered the fajita combo! So I was thinking I was going to get a good portion! I got 4 pieces of chicken and 3 pieces of beef!! WTF!! Was my reaction after driving to go pick up! I guess I should have ordered 2 and paid $32 plus tip! Oh yeah I tipped thinking I was going to get a great dinner!! Only to be disappointed with text mex again! Just had dinner there for the first time tonight. This place is AMAZING!!!!! I had the quesadillas (which were very good). M wife had the Chicken Fried Rice. Who would have thought that fried rice could be so good at a Mexican restaurant. This was phenomenal!!! We sat on the patio with great drinks and great food. Probably the biggest advantage El Rodeo has over El Fenix is menus choices. El Rodeo's menu is more extensive. However, El Fenix has a full bar and better atmosphere. Whereas, El Rodeo does have somewhat of hole in the wall ambiance, with much simpler furnishings. As far as overall food quality, my wife and I both agree that El Fenix has the edge over El Rodeo. Interestingly, both restaurants have almost the exact same salsa recipe. Both taste fresh, but both are also fairly watery, which, for me, is a fail. I prefer a salsa with I guess more of a tomato base. I mean, I still eat the salsa at El Rodeo, but it's definitely not the star of the meal! The chips at El Rodeo are better than those at El Fenix. (I did not intend for this to be a comparison to El Fenix, it just worked out that way, because I'm a little delayed on submitting this updated review on El Rodeo.) I do very much appreciate the large drink mugs at El Rodeo. I've would have to literally chug one's drink throughout the meal to even need a single refill. The mugs are HUGE! So, we'll be back to El Rodeo despite the pricing increases, but probably not as frequently as we would like. Times are tough and value shopping, even for dine out spots, is paramount!
