Chop House is the reliable choice. The quality is consistent and the wait is never too long. They use a wood grill, so anything off the grill is a good choice. I am a huge fan of their salads. Fresh cut lettuce and veggies. They shred their own cheese. It makes a huge difference. Definitely family friendly and the kid meals are a great deal. read more

My husband and I just moved to the area and some friends took us here last night. Olivia was our server and she was excellent. She gave us wonderful recommendations for dinner, was kind and attentive. We had the tenderloin medallion with fried okra and all of it was cooked so well. This was a fantastic first experience. Have been to CH dozens of times over the years and found it excellent every single time. I cannot say that about any other restaurant I've visited more than a few times. Extremely consistent high quality food and service. An excellent value. My usual is the Meat Loaf Parmesan but it is all great. The soups and salads are superb. I was really excited to experience this restaurant, but was greatly disappointed in the management. The food I had and waitress were decent, but the way management treats its customers is dispicable. I was with my family, between the ages of 35 and 61, and we were told that we were no longer able to continue ordering beverages after 4 drinks (beer and wine over a 2 hour period when we were NOT driving). This is ridiculous. We are all adults and none of us were driving, what is the problem? Don't waste your time at this place; go to Neighbors across the street. read more

Went Saturday for the prime rib special-a great deal at under $20.00. It was excellent,and a huge portion. With the loaded potato,we each brought half of each home for another night. It is a nice enough place but if you sit at the bar, you get a nice view of the kitchen door.....I have only eaten soup here for whatever reason and all three times the soup was very good......nice bar, but looking at the kitchen door opening every 30 seconds was really distracting. read more

I do not know what the other reviewers have been eating, perhaps prison food. I think once upon a time this was a fine eating establishment, but has now gone the way of Shoneys and Stuckeys. My husband, son and I just left there. I ordered the steak salad. The waiter forgot my dressing. The steak was so tough I could not chew it and had to discretely remove it to my bread plate. My son ordered ribs. Though they were tender, the only flavor came from the sauce which tasted alot like Kraft barbecue sauce. My husband ordered the cedar plank salmon which was eerily cat food-esque. I'd forego this and just eat at home; at least at my house. read more

My husband and I had an anniversary dinner at Franklin Chop House. The rib eye steak was very tasty. Cooked medium just like my husband likes it. My chopped steak was perfectly cooked. It was delicious. The salads were cut bite sized like we like them and the Cajun ranch salad dressing was great. Our young waiter was very pleasant and kept our drinks filled. It was a very nice experience. The restaurant was highly recommended by our front desk clerk at our hotel. We were leery after reading all of the bad reviews. We gave them a try. I LOVE this place! The food is awesome and the staff is friendly. If anything is ever wrong/unsatisfactory with my dish they will happily take it back and get me a new one, and always thank me for letting them know! I had a conversation with a waitress there who told me that they would much rather have their guests tell them when something is wrong and have to fix it then have them go away upset. I love that. The only reason I'm not giving this place the full 5 stars is because the place could use a little update. Especially the servers, we arent in the 90's any more. A waitstaff with red pollo shirts tucked into khaki pants and topped off with a green apron..its a little underwhelming. I mostly feel bad for the girls who are clearly not thrilled that they look like men, if it werent for their longer hair no one would know the difference. I'm talking FRUMP. Anything would be better, even if they just went with black pants or even got shirts that werent collared. Anyway, enough about my fashion rants. If there were anything I could say to the owners it would be this; get new macaroni and CHANGE YOUR UNIFORM. Then it'll be a 5 star rating. read more

This place is amazing. It's very atmospheric and chill. The food is amazingly cooked and prepared. My favorite is the Apricot Chicken. Who would've thought that putting mozzarella cheese on top of a sweet kind of sauced chicken would be that amazing. Their green beans are also perfect. Please go check them out right now. read more

I have eaten here several times and I can give it an OK rating but nothing spectacular. One thing I really miss after the Cooker closed down several years ago was a pot roast. The Pot Roast here is A little salty to my taste and just seems lacking in flavor. Most of the sides are also a little overdone. It does a reasonable job at offering home style cooking at fair prices but personally I would like a little more quality in preparation even if it cost a little more. read more

Heard about the Monday special chicken fried steak and since it's Monday why not. Warmly greeted and ushered to a clean and spacious booth. Our server Myles was upbeat and on point. Since country gravy is different place to place asked for brown gravy on everything. Had a side of mashed potatoes and since I am in my 60's the baked apples instead of a vegetable. Had plenty of veggies as a kid (sorry mom). What was delivered was a huge perfectly seasoned hunk of tender beef with a classic coating. The mashed potatoes were perfectly whipped and both were slathered with a savory and beefy out of this world sauce. Added extra butter for the potatoes and it was meat and potato bliss. The separate side of apples was spot on. Washed it down with a Blue Moon and with their table rolls ,well it was perfection. My Monday's lunch will be spent here. Order it with the brown gravy and wow, wow, wow... The local bargain plate for $10.99. Wish it was part of the regular menu. read more

Just have to say that the wait staff is awesome here. Very friendly and smiles all the time. There is a big chalk board in the middle of the restaurant that has the daily specials, deserts, and soups. During the weekend they have a great Prime Rib special! Well worth the $16 bucks with two sides. I would say that you will want to make reservations during the weekends because it does get quite busy. Great steaks here and a very family style atmosphere so enjoy and give the Chop House a try I know you will enjoy and I will say they have great prices for steaks! The food is good but I am seriously disappointed that to get some extra sauces for chicken tenders and my salad I was charged 4.13 for 2 small sides of honey mustard and 2 small sides of Cajun ranch dressing. That is beyond the realm of a within a reasonable charge for what totaled maybe 3 oz of extras. I did order with door dash and had serious issues with the order but to find out that my card was charged without my being notified of this change. No text no phone call just an email which I didn't not receive until my order was almost at my door the least this restaurant could have done is contact me directly to advise me of this additional cost or asked if I wanted to change this. I will NEVER visit this restaurant or order from them again seeing as the way this was handled was not ethical. read more

My family and I moved to Franklin from Illinois about 6 mos ago & we are slowly trying restaurants in Franklin to fin regular places to host out of town family & guests! That being said FCH is literally 5 minutes from our home so we decided to give it a try for our 30 anniversary ( quiet dinner without kids). The waiter immediately spills coffee all over our table bc of over filling the cup and leaves the mess the only reason I realized is because coffee had spilled into my wifes purse on the floor! Not a great first impression- so we order- are told on 4 items there is an ''upcharge" (OYE)... I had to keep telling waiter ''that's fine" like 20 questions and answers- order placed we wait- wife ordered the filet medium rare- it was bloody- she ate most of it but is allergic to garlic and started having hives- I noticed that steals were all seasoned( maybe give customers a CHOICE on that). here is where it didnt make sense to us- they gave us glass plates to eat on - but the sides came in plastic like a fast food joint! - the mac n cheese taste like frozen- some of the dishes were cracked too- was thinking a lawsuit someday by a customer chewing on glass pieces! SCARY! my wife ate some salad and found a piece of something unidentifable that was hard and ended up spitting whatever it is into a napkin- we didn;t complain bc after all the place was so dumpy anyhow- FILTHY ceilings- painted like a crappy southwestern fast food place- the only redeeming fact was the amazing photos full of history on the walls- my wife wanted the book you can buy there until we found out it was $75. - over a $75. food bill so did not order dessert either! place is kind of filthy looking back on way out we noticed it wasnt very clean-we never should have stayed to eat! The service was good but vegetables tasted moldy I wasn't impressed and wouldn't recommend I could of done much better myself

Awful. My husband and I came here about a month or so ago for some drinks and dinner because it seemed like a decent place. Small wait. We got seated. The server was a child and clearly was new at his job (that's alright, but they need better and more elaborate training obviously being new to the industry). The waiter was sick so it was pretty gross having a kid wipe his snot from his nose on his hand and sniffling the entire time taking our order. We ordered a basic white wine and bottled beer. It took forever and after much time had passed, still no drink. He came back to our table and re-asked our order. We told him. Minutes later, as our food is coming out, our drinks come and they are incorrect. Wrong beer and wrong type of wine. The food was mediocre at best (maybe because we were ravenous at this point that it tasted somewhat ok) and the drinks took far too long. After too much time, not having our drinks pre meal and the meal being sub par, we agreed we will not ever be coming back. Poor experience, poorly trained staff, health code violations with employees serving while sick and poor tasting food. No thank you. read more

My wife and I loved it. I had the New York strip steak and my wife had the Cedar Plank Salmon we both loved our meal. The meal was served with biscuits that were wonderful and vegetables broccoli, baby carrots, French fries and house salads were also delicious. The staff was friendly and service was prompt.
