Literally the best thai food I have ever had. Better than any in manhattan. This is by far one of the best restaurants on Long Island.

I would give 5 stars for poor service if I could. The food was excellent however, trying to be noticed seems to be a struggle while dinning here. My friends and I had to dispute how long we waited for a table, waited to be served, even had to ask 5 times for the check. read more

Review is long overdue as I eat here often. I love the food and service. Frankie is the best host and his personalty makes you just want to stop in and say hello even if you are not having going to order. My go to order is the Golden Bags for Appetizer and The Frankly Delight for Entree. This place has great food and great atmosphere and its byob. The owner Frank is always around to great you as you come in. I haven't gone to a variety of Thai places in LI-- But the food at Frankly Thai is awesome! Definitely a place worth checking out and my personal recommendation is the spicy basil with the flat noodles (Sorry, I've forgotten the name now!) Flavorful and a tad spicy (though I believe you can ask to have it adjusted) the spicy basil noodles are fantastic! I also had the Thai iced tea which was delicious! The service was prompt, the environment nothing too special! But I definitely recommend checking it out if you're in the area! read more

Very disappointed. Despite the great reviews, I was so disappointed with the poor service and subpar food. Maybe it was because I caught them on a busy day, but that should not be an excuse. Anyhow, I had made reservations for 3 which I changed to 4 last minute which caused us to wait around 35 minutes for a table. (which is fine, it's busy, I get it). Anyhow, then we ordered; appetizers came out quick but the actual meals took a very long time to come out. I was disappointed with the food. Even my sister was surprised because she had eaten here before and the dish did not taste good. I had gotten tofu satay, tofu salad and pad Thai. The tofu was drenched in oil and did not taste good at all. Salad was overpowered by the dressing. Pad Thai was way too sweet. My sister had ordered some chicken dish that I don't recall. What probably irked me in the end was that this was supposed to be a surprise for my sister's bday. I had informed the hostess over the phone and when I came in; I told her who my sister is and she even wrote down her name. I was waiting after we ate the food, but the surprise never came. Honestly, even if the food wasn't good, I would have been happy if at least they had followed through with the surprise. The good things though - parking is easy to find, nice ambience and the waitresses are really nice. They actually felt really bad for what happened and did apologize. But the hostess never apologized; in fact when we were leaving, she just ignored us. We arrived to the restaurant around 8:30 and it was packed so we knew it had to be good. We had to wait 30 minutes but it was ok because they have an area to sit. But if you dont like to wait then you should make reservations. The food was delicious and the service was fast and good. The only setback was that they gave me my stickyrice late and it was the sweet kind, but i never tried it before so it was a good experience. If you are a true coffee drinker than the coffee used in the thai coffee isnt good. But the thai tea was, i wish i had ordered it. Came here for the first time last Saturday with my husband. We were seated right away. We started with the coconut shrimp for an appetizer. We really enjoyed it. It had a great sauce on top that went well with the shrimp. For our entrées he ordered the spicy basil fried rice with chicken and I got the drunken noodles with chicken. They were both delicious. We agreed it was the best thai food we've had in a long time. For dessert we ordered the chocolate truffle which was soo good. While we were there we noticed it was BYOB, so next time we'll be bringing a bottle of wine to have with dinner. My only complaint would be the service. They seemed overwhelmed since the place was packed and there were a couple of times when we asked for something and they forgot so we had to remind them. The service is very perky and friendly. They are quick when you want them to be, and slow when you want them to be (which is helpful if you order three or four courses). Like most Thai places, I found the appetizers to stand out more than the main dishes. Probably because I see more variety in the appetizers than the main dishes (vegetables+meat+sauce=main dish). Everything was tasty, but the golden bags and fried calamari were the best. The wonton soup was nearly-flavorless, and I would think a Thai restaurant could do it better (much of Thai cuisine has a Chinese or Indian influence and there is a lot of Chinese food in Thailand). The golden chicken was very disappointing, but their roti and red curry made up for that. The crêpes for desert (which are roti with pineapple sauce and ice cream) were fantastic. The owner, Frank, is very friendly and outgoing. He is extremely well-educated in Thai cuisine. Overall, you see this in mom-and-pop restaurants and it brings you back. It is nice to know the people that are behind the scenes; this is something that you can't do in a chain restaurant. Four stars because of the wonton soup and golden chicken. Do not order take out from here. Ordered on my way home from work was told 20 minutes, went in 22 minutes later and it wasn't ready, I paid for it then in the interest of saving time. Waited ten more minutes and was told it was almost done( I ordered one thing). Waited ten more minutes for a total of 42 minutes and then told them I had to leave could they credit my card back. She took my card and walked away, I then waited another 10 minutes to find that they charged me again and didn't credit me. Another 10 minutes went by with the owner cracking jokes about me having to wait for good food. I finally got my card back, no food, and an hour of my life wasted. Extremely delicious! Their pad thai cannot compare to any other place that has because it is just that good. I'm at a loss as to why people like this place. Maybe this is where people go if they've never had Thai food before so they don't know what it's supposed to taste like. After a long hiatus I tried this place again tonight hoping it would be better than the last few times I was here. Not only is it overpriced ($32 for two soups and and order of yellow curry) but its not even good. The Tom Kha was overly bland with no lime and the chicken was gross and dried out. The same for the curry. There are some really good and authentic Thai places in the area (Williston Park) so maybe it just that people can't be bothered to drive a little further. read more

My honey and I passed this place so many times, and finally, we went inside on a whim. The first time we attempted to go, alas, they were closed and we were baffled, but later we found out they close every Tuesday. But once we tried again, my my my. The place is lovely inside, the staff is nice, the owner is SUPER friendly and the food is outstanding. I looooove their Thai iced tea, I would drink a whole pitcher if I could. I highly recommend the shrimp pineapple jasmine fried rice, the season really soaks throughout everything. Their pad thai is okay, but I prefer their jasmine rice. Lovely for a date night!!! Not real thai food. In fact, it is owned by a non Asian. They use the same three veggies in EVERY dish (julienned carrots, peppers, zucchini). They also use the same sauce for almost everything. . However, the service is good and there is plenty of parking in the back. read more
