To start, what a beautiful and enjoyable environment. It is cozy, and they really do all they can to accommodate for mobile impaired. Friendliness is the base of service and truly , I haven't seen better from All. Prompt, efficient, teamwork. There are so many restaurants that could really learn from his place. Now-- food--- I was in heaven. Options and customization abound. Variety of unique flavors you wouldn't find at just any diner. The friend deviled eggs. Are so tasty- bread was amazing. They're my favorite place for breakfast. Everything is good and the staff is great. It can be a little squishy, and there can be a bit of a wait, but it's definitely worth it. It's fun sitting at the bar and watching them cook. They are fast. They also call and text when your table is ready so you can wait in your car if you like. read more

Very friendly staff. A little wait, they had free coffee outside. I sat at the counter and the waitress was very nice and kept my coffee full. I was by myself and enjoyed watching the front cooks make omelets and hash browns and such. Had the pancetta with scrambled eggs and English muffin, although I had a little buyers remorse because the wheat bread looked really good, seemed to be locally made. I'm from out of town and was looking for a restaurant close to where I was staying. With good food at a decent price. Nice restored train car made into a restaurant made for a cute atmosphere. Came here for breakfast after attending a concert at the Spokane Arena the night before. A good friend recommended it, and I am soooo glad she did. When you walk in, you find yourself transported back several decades to a train dining car that feels inviting and luxurious. We were greeted immediately to a table with lots of leg room and comfortable bench seats. Our server was Leslie and she was very attentive considering the place was packed. The coffee was warm and tasted great on a cold rainy day. I had the Pecan Smoked Boar Bacon Benedict with a side of hash browns topped with cooked onions. I really like the bacon, the hollandaise sauce is made in house, and the hash browns were perfectly done - crispy on the top and bottom but a little soft and tender on the inside. My other half had the Corned Beef Hash. It's probably one of the best he's ever had - true slices of corned beef cooked perfectly. And they serve the thick cut Franz Wheat Toast with a specially made Strawberry Freezer Jam. This is on our list of returns diners when staying in Spokane read more

Had dinner here on 12/27/2021. This place is super cool. It is a fancy-pants train car from years gone by. Food was delicious. Staff was super attentive and friendly while serving the mostly full counter and tables. Place was clean both in the restaurant and restrooms. Will definitely be back to this spot as well as looking forward to checking out the northern location. read more

Phenomenal setting - does it get better than eating in a series of extended train cars? Friendly/fun service - how do all their employees work so well together in such tight spaces? Amazing food - I very much enjoyed the Irish Benedict. The toast was light, the eggs were perfectly running, and the hash was to die for. It was so much fun to watch it being made. C'mon ride the train! Hey, ride it! Frank's Diner is a classic breakfast spot in Spokane. You have to have breakfast here at least once, especially since its location is unlike anything else. Located in an old train, the space has opened up to a dining space, with a breakfast counter. Every spot is a great spot, whether you're sitting at the breakfast counter, getting the best view of how your hashbrowns are being cooked or towards the back of the train where the booths are, which pretty much look like you're riding in a train, your experience here will be a good one. My bestie and I came here for brunch on a Friday and there was a line, as we expected there to be. Frank's Diner also knows there's a line outside the door, as they've set up an adjacent gazebo, which is heated and covered AND offers complimentary coffee and water for those waiting. Customer service is top-notch here. Half an hour later we sat at the breakfast counter. I ordered the Chicken Fried Steak and Eggs with a biscuit and everything was awesome! You can also order a side of gravy (and onions) for free, so of course I was on that gravy train and had put some on my hashbrowns! More breakfast spots should offer free gravy! The chicken fried steak was tender and was such a huge hunk of it that I only ate half. But it was very good. Poached eggs were spot on. And the hashbrowns are not to be missed. They were shredded and stacked up, with crispy edges. I also advise getting a side of the biscuit, as they grill the biscuit on the griddle. It was soft and buttery from the griddle top. I love Frank's Diner! It's the best place in Spokane for a classic, no-frills breakfast in an iconic setting. It's always a welcoming environment with the friendliest staff. Stopped in for lunch while working. Immediately greeted by friendly staff, Sydnee. We were seated and our server showed up promptly to ask about drinks. Was deciding between the Duck Bacon BLT and the Alaskan Salmon BLT, since they were out of duck bacon that day it was an easy choice. Ordered a side of boar bacon just to try. Wonderful wonderful wonderful experience here today! We sat at the bar and watched them cook the food. That made the meal so entertaining and awe inspiring at their skill. Very entertaining to watch. Our server was extremely friendly and caring. She made us think we picked the perfect meal! Do yourself a favor and get the Crispy Deviled Eggs (appetizer)! You get 4 of them. No matter how full you are, you have room for these! Perfect, just perfect. Panko crusted and topped with a generous piece of bacon. It's also one of the best deviled egg fillings I've ever had. We got the Chicken Fried Steak and Corn Beef Hash (made in house) entrees. Make sure to get the gravy and onions on your hash browns. Game changer. Also make sure to get the biscuit instead of toast. The jelly and biscuit left happy little markers on my memory of this meal. Theses sides were so good, it almost took away from my main course. The corn beef was spot on. Tasty, salty and authentic. The fried steak was also crispy, fresh and greasy good. Not greasy bad! Good hearty portions. We both only ate half of our meals but look forward to the other half for dinner tonight. So adorable inside, great place to take your kid or maybe someone visiting for the holidays (though it's too small inside for large groups, many tables are 2 person booths). The detailed was perfectly delicious, next time I'll have to try one of the benedicts! read more

Drive between Portland and Montana several times a year and Spokane is usually the area I stop for lunch. We decided to try Franks Diner this time. Classic old train car diner. Kind of kitschy but really cool and comfortable. Staff were very friendly. I had heard breakfast there was food but it was mid afternoon and we decided to get lunch. I got the burger and it was great. Big, and not overly compressed. Very juicy. Bun was good and I liked the thin sliced onions on it. Although the burger was good, the fries stole the show. They were some of the best fries I have had in a while. Twice a fried, crispy on the outside and still soft on the inside. Overall we will be stopping at Franks on our trips between Oregon and Montana read more

I love me some Frank's Diner when I'm passing through Spokane. Never a bad meal and service are always great. Frank's always delivers! It's always busy, but I never mind waiting because all the staff are so kind. I love bringing out of towners here because it's on our way to and from the airport. They do such a great job with the cozy atmosphere while still turning tables quickly. The history and fun facts make it a good time for all ages, and the food is delicious every single time. Some favorite items are the pancakes, wheat toast, and hash browns with onions. Those all sound like ordinary items, but Frank's somehow makes them special! read more

My family and I went to Frank's for the first time and it is must go to diner! The inside looks just like the pictures you see here on Yelp. It's tight, but cozy. All the employees were really nice. Our waitress was Melissa and she was the best! I ordered a speciality waffle for my son and I didn't know they put walnuts on it (which my son is allergic to), and I told her not to bother he can eat my extra waffle and she persisted it was no probably at all and she would have another right out. Sure enough she did, and my son was sooooo happy! We ordered an Irish Benedict, Conductor Derailer, Irish hash & eggs, Turtle Chocolate speciality waffles and the blueberry bliss waffles. Something has changed. The gluten free pumpkin waffle is NOT what it use to be. It's smaller, different consistency, and totally different taste. I came to Frank's over and over just for this waffle and am super disappointed now. I have been going to Frank's for decades. The prices are always fair, and the food is always consistently good and satisfying. What really makes Frank's are the people. Everyone is in plain sight pretty much the whole time, so obviously they have to be careful in the public eye. But it is so much more than that. Everyone there is friendly and engaging and they all seem genuinely interested in your happiness while you are there. They do have some interesting stuff (Cajun style crab Benedict) but most of the menu is just good solid comfort food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I will say they are probably the best place for hash browns in the area. There are lots of other good basic diners in Spokane, but I don't think any of them are as welcoming as Frank's. Some will be turned off by the way the seating is set up, so unless you plan on having your whole posse taking up the counter, it is probably best if you don't have more than four people with you. read more

Brought my adult kids to Spokane and we found this through yelp, and let me tell you we we're not disappointed! The wait was about 30 minutes but it was worth the wait. The service was superb and the food was delicious. Everything home made. We had the waffles, pancakes and I had the pancetta eggs Benedict. For the first time I tried hashbrown with gravy and top and grilled onions, and it was so delicious! I will never eat hashbrown any other way. Big food portions. Super busy breakfast spot but worth the wait.. we were also worried about how small the diner was, we were heading to the airport after breakfast and had a large suitcase & carry-on - they were VERY accommodating. Put our luggage in a locked room and had it waiting for us as we paid our bill. We were sat at the "bar" with Andrea being our server.
